Hosted a large group here for brunch and after quite a few hiccups with reservations and orders with this the VERY new biz , all was made well after a refreshing greeting with the general manager . We ended up spending 2 hours socializing and eating . Enjoyed our brunch and overall was happy with the menu options for gluten free & vegan . HUGE Thank you to the staff of "the hills " for accommodating all of us .

Headed out to El Charro last night on Sunrise around 5:40pm and there was an hour and half wait for two people! They suggested their sister place The Hills, so we decided to check it out. It's eclectic inside. It was fairly busy inside too. I guess all the UA parents are dining out. Ha ha They were able to sit us right away, and our server was very nice and attentive. We also had one of the hostesses check on us since we told them it was our first visit. We ordered the bread plate as a starter. It was simple and good. Forgot to take a photo. Our dishes were very good. My husband had the Tucson beef steak sandwich with a side salad and I had the Catalina chicken. He enjoyed his sandwich he said it had good flavor. The chicken was cooked well and I enjoyed the brightness of the lemon. Overall a wonderful first visit.

Beautiful place! The deco and space is well done. I had a Bloody Mary and chicken sando. Just for me it was $40. A bit steep but it all tasted really good. I'll spend if it is good but price is something to consider. The wait staff was very friendly

We had made a reservation, so we got right in. This relatively new restaurant is already gaining popularity in town. The decor is upbeat and pleasant. There is a bar area, tables, partial booths for seating. When the weather is cooler, the patio seating will be a comfortable option. Our party started with a couple of appetizers. We were kind of disappointed we only got three meatballs with ours, but they were delicious. I got the salmon and my husband got the Catalina chicken. Our friends shared a pizza. The pizza was ok, but not the best they've had. The salmon was good, cooked just right, with a delicious couscous concoction under it--delicious and healthy. The Catalina chicken looked the best of all of the meals and my husband said it was great.

We decided to give this new place a try since we live nearby. It was Mother's Day and, surprisingly, it wasn't too busy. The host greeted us warmly and seated us at a high-top table facing the bar. She also mentioned that mothers would receive a free pastry and a flower for Mother's Day, but later when I asked about it, they told me they had already run out, a bit of a bummer... Our waiter was attentive, took our orders promptly, and made good recommendations. However, the wait for the food was about 32 minutes even though the restaurant wasn't busy. At one point, our waiter came by and said he was going to check on our food, which was appreciated because we were definitely getting hungry by then. We ordered the Catalina Chicken and the Far East Noodle Bowl with teriyaki chicken. Both dishes were flavorful, well cooked, and very enjoyable. I also ordered the Tamarindo Cooler, but unfortunately it was extremely sweet and tasted artificial. I could barely drink half of it, so I think the recipe could use some improvement. Another downside was the number of flies around our table and food. The restaurant keeps the patio windows open into the bar area, which may be contributing to the issue. Overall, the food was good and the prices are reasonable for the area, but there are definitely a few things that could improve the experience.

Eh. The food is decent. Not gross. Maybe bc they are new, but 1/2 the things on the menu were not available. Wings were good. I got a salad which was also good, except it had a ton of that purple lettuce that wasn't shown when I looked at yelp pictures. Our bartender was very good. the place itself looks a lot like the previous restaurant that was here. Overall a good addition to this area but nothing to write home about.

This was our first time dining here and everything was great from start to finish. The atmosphere is welcoming and cozy. We didn't make a reservation, but they got us a table right away. We were kindly greeted by our server, Jose, who had our drinks to us within minutes. We ordered the whipped feta & honey and it was so flavorful and delicious. He got the yogurt bowl and I had the goddess salad with salmon. Both were perfectly portioned, balanced, and very flavorful. The server was tentative and checked on us throughout our entire dining experience. We look forward to coming back and exploring other menu options, as I'm sure they're also delicious! Cheers!

What a wonderful dinner! Beautiful, cozy, and elegant interior the seats are very comfortable. Cienna our waitress was very nice and engaging and even offered some advice on delicious dishes to try. I loved the meet @ the hills pizza it was loaded with toppings and it was the right amount of food for a filling dinner. Everything was very clean and inviting we definitely enjoyed the meal.

Came on a whim here and really appreciate the atmosphere. They have a nice patio that is dog friendly outside. The inside is just a chill and bright environment. The staff was very friendly. I ordered the whipped feta and honey sharable which tasted amazing. Honestly, I could have just gotten this to eat cause it tasted so good and was way larger than I anticipated. I also got their el tour bowl (yogurt with fruit). It was good too, but the whipped feta just hit different. I also got a ranch water which was made well. All in all, I would love to find this place again on a whim.

Service was friendly and quick. We were there during happy hour and they had discounts on starters and drinks. We had the Goddess Salad and it was plenty for 2. It was fresh but the croutons were very big and hard. We also had the starter meatballs. It was 3 to an order and good size. The sweet potato fries were good. Ambiance was nice except for the fly.

FYI It's still the soft opening up to Sunday Mothers Day 5-10-26 with 25% off entrees & happy hour drink discounts 3$? ( usual happy hour 2-6 daily ? Check ) Always happy to see Dustin who is the new experienced GM manager at several el charro si charro concepts . Dustin always there with professional care for the dining experience . He's been with charro Vida, been with SI Charro for some time . Dustin consistently brings the hospitality experience for the patrons & has great respect for his staff also . I've been to the hills soft opening 3 times . Dustin asked me respectfully please wait to review earlier , but gave the ok to write a Yelp review, I did. I first tried the steak & frites entree with a New York strip with chimichuri topping ( liked ) on top the steak which had been sliced and presented on sweet potato fries ( like) ; it was tasty . Last Friday & today came back for their Friday only fish & chips" two large pieces of tender Walleye lightly breaded served on bed of fries with Cole slaw & their tartar sauce. The breading on the fish is very light which for me adds to the enjoyment of the large portions of tender walleye .Both times with fish consistently good that's why I returned . Trust me it's a winner & could even be split to try something else . The menu includes salads , sandwiches , pasta , steak , burgers , personal pizzas & more . Loads of drinks with Wednesdays half off bottles of wine . The former commoner space has been totally renovated with a cool vibe w old stereo tv console as the entry station along with old porcelain gas store set up with the hills merch . There's a private brick dining room in back east side . Great Mountain View's from the n dining room area , bar pub area including tall passed seating & stool by bar , with full long porch set up with tables even a outdoor sofa area with a couple rocking chairs all on west side . I was so happy to see Isabel at the bar who works at El Charro Ventana across the street . Sitting at the bar met a new cool bar crew Laylani ,Jose, Sarah, with Marquis from downtown charro steak with super service thank you . I'm sure the hills will be a hit , it's already popular! Bueno Suerte ! ( fyi ...no si charro gift cards accepted , told until Xmas in July 2026 new cards are sold & issued , told new restaurant )

We first tried The Hills during their soft open and have been there twice since. The food has been consistently good, and service has steadily improved as the staff gain experience with this menu/location. The vibe is relaxed with a comfortable, casual feel. We hope to enjoy The Hills for many years to come.

Stellar and within walking distance! What's not to love? The chicken & waffles with (oddly very little) fig jam were outstanding and sparkling limeade on tap is just so refreshing. My friend ordered a cranberry drink of some sort, turned out it was alcoholic and she didn't want it, so I drank that too!! Cute, simple decor and pleasant and accommodating staff, still figuring things out in some cases, but in all, this is a winner! Welcome to the hood!!

This review is only about the pastries because the rest of their menu deserves an entirely separate review. The first thing I noticed was how incredibly light and airy everything was. Every bite felt fresh, fluffy, and perfectly balanced. The frosting wasn't overly sweet, and nothing tasted heavy or overwhelming. As I've gotten older, I've become much more conscious about what I eat. Surprisingly, these pastries never leave me with that "I shouldn't have done that" feeling. They're indulgent without being excessive. Now let's address the real issue... I always buy two. Not because I'm planning ahead. Because I know exactly what's going to happen if I don't. I'll eat one in the parking lot, sit there for a minute pretending I'm satisfied, then make what is almost certainly an illegal U-turn and head back inside for another. At this point, I believe the owners should stand trial in a savory Food Court of Law. Dun... Dun... "In the Criminal Food Justice System, pastry-based crimes are considered especially delicious. In Tucson, the dedicated foodies who investigate these sugary felonies are members of an elite squad known as the Special Pastry Unit. These are their stories." Prep & Pastry is guilty of making "I'll just have one" the biggest lie you'll tell yourself all week. Whether you're stopping by for breakfast, brunch, or simply because life is better with a great pastry, this place delivers. WIT Inspection Score: -- Truly Among the Best.

We went inside and politely asked if there is any chance we could get it iced instead since there was no option on the iPad. The owner herself took the drink and remade it, which we appreciated, but her attitude toward us after was unnecessary. She told us that next time we should order directly with them because we just "wasted their cups" and so on. We apologized again and explained that we would have selected iced if the iPad had actually given us that option, but she didn't really acknowledge what we were saying. What made the experience more disappointing is that I work in coffee myself, so I understand what it's like when things get busy. I chose Barista Del Barrio out of all the coffee shops in the area specifically because I'm Latino and wanted to support a Latino-owned business.
