Me in the patio seating area. Good lighting, good view, great vibes and not noisy, which is the important part
    Matthew C.

I love this place. Tucson has been a place for me that definitely is overrated in food, but every few weeks I'll find something that is tremendous, and makes me really see what could've been. The Hills is a great example. First off, this place was PACKED, and to be honest, a tad bit cramped, but I did go for dinner. It was VERY loud and that might be a turnoff for some. Be forewarned. I almost don't want to share this, but my honor as a Yelp Elite requires it. But they have outdoor patio seating. Don't do this in the summer, at least while the sun is up, but outside of that, request it with the host team. It's lovely and comfortable and service doesn't lack there. That's what I did, I peeped the patio while being annoyed with the tad cramped interior and I am so glad I did. They were more than happy to seat me out there. And there wasn't anyone else there so it functionally was like a private experience. Let me just say my server was like 19 and it was his first job and he was amazing. At no point did I feel neglected. The food is what you're here for yes? Well overall it was very good. I had a bit of an issue with the steak, it was cooked exceedingly well, although they don't let you order it the standard ways. I forget what they give as options. But I interpreted it as burnt or properly cooked. I ordered, thankfully the non-burnt sounding option, and it came out properly cooked at medium rare. Only problem was the steak lacked any flavor. Not too happy about that. But the Chimichurri was amazing and they gave me a lot of that. So it worked. The Charcuterie was pretty amazing. Everything was high quality and tasty. Even the bread. The sweet potato fries were a tad soggy, but flavorful and the cheese on top was nice. I appreciated the vision, but it could've been cooked a tad bit more. Now for my drink, I had the "Screw the Diet" which wasn't a bad drink, but it was too coffee forward with the espresso, and the Skrewball, which is an amazing peanut butter whiskey by the way, was barely present. Just advertise this as a coffee cocktail. It works as that. Make something else the Skrewball can shine in. The banana pudding was very very good. Light, full flavored and memorable. And I'm not a big bannna pudding fan. Overall this place is amazing. I did meet the resturant manager and expressed my issues with the drink and the lack of salt on the steak. He said they are working on it. He was a good man. Please try this place though. It's worth the drive to the far east side. I'll be moving closer to here soon so I'll be trying this again. I love this almost as much as I do Teaspoon. Like I said in the beginning, Tucson isn't the food city some clamor it to be, but then there's places like The Hills that give it life.

I was pleasantly surprised by the hills considering I'm not a fan of their sister restaurant the Monica. My friend and I came for happy hour appetizers and mocktails. We made sure to make a reservation and were seated immediately. Service was great we never felt rushed and our waitress provided great clarification on items and drinks We ordered the Brussels sprouts and whipped feta and two mocktails. The whipped feta.. where do I start? It was the star of the show I'm such a big fan I tried to recreate it at home. The salty/ herb flavor of the feta and the honey and crunch from the pepitas it was a culinary masterpiece. The bread was amazing and they gave you enough to actually finish off the feta. The Brussels sprouts had amazing flavor, soft inside and crispy outside. The mocktails weren't the greatest so i would've liked to see more effort on that area. We filled up on the apps and mocktails but SUPER excited to come back for entrees and brunch

Hosted a large group here for brunch and after quite a few hiccups with reservations and orders with this the VERY new biz , all was made well after a refreshing greeting with the general manager . We ended up spending 2 hours socializing and eating . Enjoyed our brunch and overall was happy with the menu options for gluten free & vegan . HUGE Thank you to the staff of "the hills " for accommodating all of us .

Eh. The food is decent. Not gross. Maybe bc they are new, but 1/2 the things on the menu were not available. Wings were good. I got a salad which was also good, except it had a ton of that purple lettuce that wasn't shown when I looked at yelp pictures. Our bartender was very good. the place itself looks a lot like the previous restaurant that was here. Overall a good addition to this area but nothing to write home about.

We decided to give this new place a try since we live nearby. It was Mother's Day and, surprisingly, it wasn't too busy. The host greeted us warmly and seated us at a high-top table facing the bar. She also mentioned that mothers would receive a free pastry and a flower for Mother's Day, but later when I asked about it, they told me they had already run out, a bit of a bummer... Our waiter was attentive, took our orders promptly, and made good recommendations. However, the wait for the food was about 32 minutes even though the restaurant wasn't busy. At one point, our waiter came by and said he was going to check on our food, which was appreciated because we were definitely getting hungry by then. We ordered the Catalina Chicken and the Far East Noodle Bowl with teriyaki chicken. Both dishes were flavorful, well cooked, and very enjoyable. I also ordered the Tamarindo Cooler, but unfortunately it was extremely sweet and tasted artificial. I could barely drink half of it, so I think the recipe could use some improvement. Another downside was the number of flies around our table and food. The restaurant keeps the patio windows open into the bar area, which may be contributing to the issue. Overall, the food was good and the prices are reasonable for the area, but there are definitely a few things that could improve the experience.

This was our first time dining here and everything was great from start to finish. The atmosphere is welcoming and cozy. We didn't make a reservation, but they got us a table right away. We were kindly greeted by our server, Jose, who had our drinks to us within minutes. We ordered the whipped feta & honey and it was so flavorful and delicious. He got the yogurt bowl and I had the goddess salad with salmon. Both were perfectly portioned, balanced, and very flavorful. The server was tentative and checked on us throughout our entire dining experience. We look forward to coming back and exploring other menu options, as I'm sure they're also delicious! Cheers!

What a wonderful dinner! Beautiful, cozy, and elegant interior the seats are very comfortable. Cienna our waitress was very nice and engaging and even offered some advice on delicious dishes to try. I loved the meet @ the hills pizza it was loaded with toppings and it was the right amount of food for a filling dinner. Everything was very clean and inviting we definitely enjoyed the meal.

Came on a whim here and really appreciate the atmosphere. They have a nice patio that is dog friendly outside. The inside is just a chill and bright environment. The staff was very friendly. I ordered the whipped feta and honey sharable which tasted amazing. Honestly, I could have just gotten this to eat cause it tasted so good and was way larger than I anticipated. I also got their el tour bowl (yogurt with fruit). It was good too, but the whipped feta just hit different. I also got a ranch water which was made well. All in all, I would love to find this place again on a whim.

Service was friendly and quick. We were there during happy hour and they had discounts on starters and drinks. We had the Goddess Salad and it was plenty for 2. It was fresh but the croutons were very big and hard. We also had the starter meatballs. It was 3 to an order and good size. The sweet potato fries were good. Ambiance was nice except for the fly.

We first tried The Hills during their soft open and have been there twice since. The food has been consistently good, and service has steadily improved as the staff gain experience with this menu/location. The vibe is relaxed with a comfortable, casual feel. We hope to enjoy The Hills for many years to come.

Stellar and within walking distance! What's not to love? The chicken & waffles with (oddly very little) fig jam were outstanding and sparkling limeade on tap is just so refreshing. My friend ordered a cranberry drink of some sort, turned out it was alcoholic and she didn't want it, so I drank that too!! Cute, simple decor and pleasant and accommodating staff, still figuring things out in some cases, but in all, this is a winner! Welcome to the hood!!

To start, the food was excellent is was well cooked and juicy the meat wasn't really seasoned, but the bacon seasoning makes up for it the service was excellent we had a very nice conversation with the general manager he was very nice and so was our server. The place is very loud on the inside however, the outside is beautiful during the evening.

FYI It's still the soft opening up to Sunday Mothers Day 5-10-26 with 25% off entrees & happy hour drink discounts 3$? ( usual happy hour 2-6 daily ? Check ) Always happy to see Dustin who is the new experienced GM manager at several el charro si charro concepts . Dustin always there with professional care for the dining experience . He's been with charro Vida, been with SI Charro for some time . Dustin consistently brings the hospitality experience for the patrons & has great respect for his staff also . I've been to the hills soft opening 3 times . Dustin asked me respectfully please wait to review earlier , but gave the ok to write a Yelp review, I did. I first tried the steak & frites entree with a New York strip with chimichuri topping ( liked ) on top the steak which had been sliced and presented on sweet potato fries ( like) ; it was tasty . Last Friday & today came back for their Friday only fish & chips" two large pieces of tender Walleye lightly breaded served on bed of fries with Cole slaw & their tartar sauce. The breading on the fish is very light which for me adds to the enjoyment of the large portions of tender walleye .Both times with fish consistently good that's why I returned . Trust me it's a winner & could even be split to try something else . The menu includes salads , sandwiches , pasta , steak , burgers , personal pizzas & more . Loads of drinks with Wednesdays half off bottles of wine . The former commoner space has been totally renovated with a cool vibe w old stereo tv console as the entry station along with old porcelain gas store set up with the hills merch . There's a private brick dining room in back east side . Great Mountain View's from the n dining room area , bar pub area including tall passed seating & stool by bar , with full long porch set up with tables even a outdoor sofa area with a couple rocking chairs all on west side . I was so happy to see Isabel at the bar who works at El Charro Ventana across the street . Sitting at the bar met a new cool bar crew Laylani ,Jose, Sarah, with Marquis from downtown charro steak with super service thank you . I'm sure the hills will be a hit , it's already popular! Bueno Suerte ! ( fyi ...no si charro gift cards accepted , told until Xmas in July 2026 new cards are sold & issued , told new restaurant )

Our poor waitress Alison was working HARD she had tables inside and outside and was really making sure we weren't neglected. We ordered our mocktails which were amazing and well priced compared to other places I've been. They have fresh baked bread with oil, garlic, Parmesan and she let us know bread should be out soon but we ordered an appetizer in the meantime of calamari which was cooked to perfection and it had an Asian spin on it which was really good. We then got our bread after the appetizer which was nice to munch on while we waited for our food. The short rib ravioli is my absolute favorite it's so flavorful, the sauce is rich and deep in flavor Pro tip- save some bread to wipe up the extra sauce. Desert was the lemon olive oil cake it was a tiny bit dry but it came with ice cream and buttercream and the mixture of everything made it all come together. Honestly it's so cute inside and the patio is nice with the misters. Service was great our waitress was really running around the restaurant but we never felt neglected and the food was phenomenal. And while not pretentious it's hip and relaxed while being a place you want to dress up to go to. Every one of your senses will be delighted. The view, the smells, the food, the service, the hotel costes vibe lounge music playing in the backdrop to perfectly pair in creating a contemporary ambiance complimenting the whole environment. Great job. In a few weeks I've been 3 times. I've tried the caviar cones that are a burst and mirage of flavors that left me wanting to order a dozen. Delicious. The guacamole experience at first glance I had written off, but friends decided to order and I'm so glad they did. Delicious!!! The Chicharron and Tostones were out of this world in flavor definitely worth it. The Fig drink is amazing. The sunset vodka drink with ginger OMG! The Mandavi red is amazing, the port is delicious for an after dinner cap off as is the espresso martini. I love all their glassware and tableware. They use the right glasses for the right things. Service is attentive, they're around, but they're not pushing you to be out the door -which I love. Definitely more of an Italy dining experience where they want you to sit back and relax and take your time. I love that. Especially because the place is so beautiful. You don't wanna leave and the chairs are so comfortable that you don't want to get up. Back to the food, got the special which was pork with a cherry glaze and goat cheese, drizzle. To die for perfectly accompanied with the artichoke. The ahi tuna dinner entree was cooked perfectly and a beautiful presentation. The steak was perfectly cooked. Wasn't a big fan of the Potatoes au gratin but it presented beautifully- I'm just more of a classic when it comes to that dish and they had a unique take on it. The crème brûlée was good. I feel like it's a staple that you can't really make any more exceptional than a good crème brûlée is. The surprise was the brownie, which I would not have ordered but friends wanted to so I tried it. it was amazing. I love the presentation of how they serve it and the taste was absolutely unique perfection! They made something taste exceptionally different, even though it seems like it would be your usual brownie à la mode. It's got a unique flavor that I have a hard time describing besides I recommend you try it because it's absolutely delicious. I've decided that I will have to try everything on the menu at least once. Because some of the things that I immediately wrote off with the things that I love the most. So now I'm curious to try all of their menu items. They do have a way of making dishes very unique and all their own based on how they serve it or the way they have prepare it. The lighting and ambience is like no other restaurant in Tucson. This place is an event. Breathtaking in every regard. Sat outside all 3 times. Twice at tables and once at the sofa overlooking the 18th hole. Arrived between 630-730 all 3 times and was totally comfortable. I love Tucson's weather and sunsets and wore my sunglasses for 30 minutes one of the evenings while watching the sun set. I was unbothered by the Tucson heat- but this is one of the things I love most about living here. The misters with fans above the tables do a nice job of keeping it cool without you getting damp. If you're concerned for the heat, that's a good outdoor spot to sit. I'll have to try sitting indoors at some point but honestly, I prefer outside and away from A/C. The ginger and herb salsa verde was so fresh and aromatic. The cilantro rice complimented the lemongrass aioli perfectly. Everything was seasoned perfectly, and I'm usually one to reach for the salt shaker at most restaurants. Smoked olives are a concept I have never considered before. It's a concept that was executed perfectly here. So savory, flavorful, and complex. I'd love to have a few with a dirty martini. Speaking of drinks, my Casino gin cocktail was great.
