Wish I could give 3.5. Food was fine, price was good, servers were very friendly but clearly new. They handled the mild business fairly well still. Omelet was fine but not special Fruit was a nice compliment to not have to pay extra for (2 cantaloupe, 2 pineapple, and some grapes) Biscuit and gravy wasn't very hot or crispy unfortunately. The food is good. However the service leaves a lot to be desired. First, the staff does not seat people by party size, meaning everyone waits outside while the party of two takes up a table for eight. They cannot split or join tables because of 'airflow' and spacing. Never mind that the spacing wouldn't change. Our party was split in two. The one server split out bill. Even though we told her we were one ticket. She submitted the orders separately too. Overall, not a lot of thought put into customer service. We also had trouble getting refills. read more

We tried this restaurant for the first time for breakfast and really enjoyed it. Service was fast, polite, and the food was delicious. The restaurant was clean and our server was great. She offered suggestions on menu items and answered any questions we had. We both had omelets that came with your choice of roasted potatoes or fruit and choice of bread (lots of bread choices!). The coffee was really good and they have a housemade sweet cream that complimented it really well. We will definitely visit again to try other menu items. read more

The Hive should be your next place for breakfast or lunch in the Edmond area, and it's worth the drive from OKC! We have now had breakfast and lunch (takeout) here, and could not be happier that we have such a stellar option. Our family has had several menu items, the ridiculously good Chicken and Waffles being my favorite for breakfast. Today we had the Seasonal Salad- beautiful, amply covered with amazing fruit, cheese and nuts, the fantastic Honey BBQ chicken sandwich- huge and dripping with flavor, and my personal favorite- the best chicken fried steak sandwich I've ever had (and I've eaten them all over the metro my whole life). The staff is friendly and the kitchen was quick. I love supporting Black Owned Business and this family place will keep getting my money, through the pandemic via takeout and in person once we can crowd again! read more

One of my favorite food exploration buddies and I were looking for a breakfast spot and noticed this place had opened up less than a week ago, was adorable, and also it's called the hive (I'm biased to anything bee related, my last name means honey) - so clearly this is exactly where we needed to go. We weren't wrong. Even though strip malls aren't my favorite, this place is super cute and they really really care about creating the best food experience they can. The thing that won my heart over 2nd after the love of the theme of the place was their food accommodations. They have delicious impossible sausage that can be incorporated into basically anything the way regular meats can - and they even have vegetarian chicken nuggets which I'm always after. Don't worry, carnivores, it's not all veg but they care and those of us that don't eat meat aren't just a 'we'll add one thing extra for them" they really made the menu have open arms for all. They also support keto and gluten free and health conscious/dieting people. I love the thoughtful consideration.  Now the food itself. I ordered the loaded (house made) biscuit + (poblano) gravy with impossible sausage. She ordered the eggs Benedict. I can't speak for hers other than she refused to leave a bite and the fruit that came with the bennies were the good ones, which is always the thing that makes anyone nervous when ordering the side of fruit. Also it was beautifully presented with sprouted greens on top.  Mine: the biscuit was perfect, the sausage with their "secret seasoning" I would eat with every breakfast meal ever, the eggs were cooked with yolk in that perfect zone between runny and molten, the flavor of the gravy was great and I was thankful to be able to eat it (they have a non-meat gravy option!) but i should have ordered it on the side because I'm one of those rare okies that accents instead of smothers with gravy. Not holding that against them, that's just me. It was a little on the black pepper side which slightly overpowered the poblano but still delicious.  I loved the place. I loved that the chef and multiple in house people came to get our feedback about what we were tasting and how they could continue tweaking their recipes to perfection. Charming charming charming. This was my first visit to the Hive. It came very highly recommended so I was excited to try it. I ordered the shrimp and grits. The food was good, however, we waited for over 45 minutes for our food to come. We were later told the kitchen was short-staffed. In addition to being noisy and small the servers greet you with an attitude and unwillingness to serve. We requested to sit in the corner since we had an infant child in our party as to not disturb other guests, but we were denied because the server "had to go to the bathroom" and didn't want to add to his workload. Missed dinks, missed the right meats on the entree and wrong type of sauces, the way the eggs were cooked. I have been an avid fan of the hive eatery since its inception. The chicken and waffles is out of this world. They use a hot honey on top which gives it a nice, unique flair. The coffee creamer is a MUST HAVE, as they actually make it in-house. It's sweet, but not too sweet. So breakfast is my favorite meal. I have pretty high expectations when it comes to breakfast, and get super annoyed when things are quite right. I've wanted to try The Hive Eatery since they opened, and finally made my way here. I opted for the Seeded Avocado Toast with roasted potatoes, and it was the best avo toast I've ever had....including my own. The arugula was finished with a balsamic glaze which really elevated the whole dish. The potatoes were delicious. They were perfectly cooked and not over seasoned. I don't know why some places feel the need to salt the crap out of potatoes, but that did not happen this morning! The Campari tomatoes were a great touch as well. Though 12.99 seems kind of steep for avocado toast it was very delicious and worth every bite. I will definitely be back! read more
