I love the donuts here. They are so flavorful. A must while in Portland, the blueberry one is my fave.

No way these are famous... The site says "mouthwatering Maine potato donuts" but my donut was dry, dense, and stale. Portland, are you ok?

Absolutely loved the gluten free donut options here! I've never had any this good! The store is so cute and there's a line outside down the sidewalk (that's how popular it is). But the girls that are working there handle the pressure with such grace, it's amazing. The line moves fast and everyone is happy leaving w their yummy donuts!

Donuts are delicious here. They have multiple flavors, give each one a try if you've got the room for it! Service is fast and friendly, very kind. Holy Donut has such a cute seating area inside, it's bubbly and blue. Fun little stop on your Portland trip!

We decided to try -The Holy Donut- after seeing numerous videos on "What To Do in Portland, ME." Everyone was raving about this place, so it must be good....So we hoped. The flavor that we heard so much about, (blueberry lemon), was not available. So we got the Lemon Glazed. It was awful. Crumbly, and a bit stale. We couldn't finish it. It was that bad. We ended up throwing it away. Maybe Monday afternoon is not the best time to go, and maybe they sold out of all the fresh donuts, or maybe this place isn't that great. There was an army of people in the back, working their asses off, but I'm not sure for what. GOLDBELLY perhaps ?!?! The people working there were nice, and they did have a public restroom. That's what the one star is for

The Holy Donut is a VERY popular tourist spot! They've got 3 other locations (all in Maine) & I believe this is their first location. What makes their donuts unique is, they're made with POTATOES. That's pretty cool. I'm not sure exactly how they do it, but you can definitely taste the difference from regular donuts. I personally found these donuts to taste just okay. I wasn't a big fan of the texture & the rather dense consistency. What I did like about the Holy Donut is how they have a nice variety of different "flavored" donuts BUT I would say, if you're looking for a flavorful donut, this wouldn't be the place to go.

I'm confused and disappointed. This place is RAVED about and it was THE DRYEST and worst donut I have ever had. We got the blueberry and vanilla and both were not good.

A woman owned business is always a plus! Then throw in Potato Donuts and you've got a home run!! There's a reason there's lines out the door all summer long! Great service and great donuts!

I should preface I'm not a donut lover unless it's a cake donut. My friend really wanted to try this place so luckily there was no line and we strolled in. We decided on the gooey bacon and cheese, tater tots and 4 donuts maple, blueberry lemon, sweet potato and something else I can't remember. The gooey bacon and cheese and tots were the show stoppers, we were not a fan of the donuts. They had a very dense consistency, with no flavor outside of whatever frosting or topping was on the donut. We did not finish them and would only return for non donut items ‍ Popular place that others seem to really love but the donuts were not donuting.

First time in Portland and I heard great things about The Holy Donut. They are not a typical donut shop. They make potato donuts! This creates a distinctively light, fluffy, and moist texture. I never had one before so I was excited to try. I asked staff what the popular flavors are and their seasonal flavors. They listed a few seasonal flavors and I ended up ordering their seasonal Pumpkin donut. WHEW!! It was so good and I have now been converted. I now prefer potato donuts over regular donuts. They have seating too so if you're impatient like me you can eat your donut(s) there!

As I was walking around the area, I spotted this shoppe so I decided to check this shoppe out for an afternoon snack. I had read great reviews about this place so I'd check it out. Luckily, when I walked into this shoppe, the line to order wasn't to long. However, it gave me plenty of time of check out the donut options. I had opted to try the Apple Cinnamon Sugar donut. Within a few seconds, the donut was in my hand. Grabbed a cup of water and started the donut. No complaints here.... The certainly had plenty of flavor. Besides donuts, there are limited breakfast items and options of beverages to select. Don't forget to pick up a souvenir from this shoppe The shoppe is quaint with limited seating. I was able to grab a seat at the window. So grab a donut and enjoy!!

We came by here since it was so many of must try bites in Portland. The line for this place is pretty extensive, especially this location in Old Port. We got the maple bacon and blueberry donuts. They honestly tasted like any other donut shop I've been to. Not quite sure what the hype is about, but I would only stop by if there's no line. Would not recommend if you're looking for anything special.

I got the chocolate sea salt and pumpkin gluten free donuts, both were good. We went there first thing in the morning so we we basically able to walk right up to the counter, it gets crazy packed later in the day with a line out the door. The donuts were good and I'd go back but I would not be willing to wait on the long line.

They advertise themselves as all day cafe/bar and market. The vibes were perfect with an overall cozy and welcoming feel. It seemed like a spot many regulars come to often as the workers appeared to know many people who came through! They have a bar with roughly 8 seats, along with some tables. With the back of the store having goodies to buy including candles, self-care items, wines, drinks, and more. Worth browsing before or after your drinks and food. We snagged two bar stools and were immediately greeted and served water along with a menu. All three staff members were friendly and made us feel welcome. Drink wise my wife got an iced mocha while I saw their drink special of the month on social media and had to try it. Named The Blue Rose with Butterfly pea flower, cardamom rose, whole milk, pebble ice and espresso on top. A photo-worthy beverage with a delicious flavor. I would keep coming back for this drink for sure if it were a permanent menu item! Food wise my wife and I both got a breakfast sandwich, only difference she got bacon while I got the impossible sausage. Well made and delicious sandwiches that would make us return as well. I do wish they would have been a little bigger though. If our visit today was any indication of the typical my wife and I would gladly return! Friendly service in a great setting with well made food and drinks. Need to return to give their cocktails a try! A standout space in Portland.

They have a lot of breakfast sandwiches made on their homemade English Muffins. When I went to order I asked what's the favorite/best sellers and we told the Yinzer. I also figured I'd get another sandwich too so I went with the Pastrami on Rye. Unfortunately they did not have any Pastrami available so I will say I panicked a little and ordered the BLT. I took a bit to get our food but they were busy so I et that. Once home I got into the Yinzer first. Let me tell you this thing was saucy but I like it that way. I will say I was a big fan of the English Muffin, probably on of the best I have had. I also had plenty of Chipped Ham which was rather tasty. Now the BLT I wasn't the biggest fan of. Would for sure come back if I was in town again because they have a lot of tasty sounding sandwiches.

After having some of the bread prior to our meals at a few restaurants, we found out the bread is locally sourced at a sister business right around the corner from where ate the night before. There was so much to select from - we got pastries, cookies, pizza and bread - and we pretty much liked everything. Our least favorite was the morning bun with walnuts - we didn't have it right away so that might've been part of the issue. Just note that the bread served at the restaurants aren't available until 2pm - we were leaving that morning so we weren't going wait for it. We opted for other loaves instead and they didn't disappoint. If you want something yummy and fresh - make sure to stop by here before heading out of Portland.
