This review is NOT for the store in Auburn, but rather homedepot.com. I ordered and received a GE 28 in. 17.5 cu. ft. Top Freezer Refrigerator in White with LED Light Type, Reversible Door Hinge Model # GTS18HGNRWW. Good price and I thought it was a reputable, well made brand. After a few days I discovered manufacturing defects such as plastic wrap that was installed under the rubber gaskets on the refrigerator door not around it and cant get remove it. Additionally, there were defects in the gasket around the refrigerator door, see photos. When I call THD the agent told me sorry you only get 48 hours to inspect it. Cant do anything about it. Sorry. I guess I shouldn't have visited family graves yesterday and reported this earlier. BTW, the installers didnt offer to level the refrigerator. I asked them to do it and it really didn't fix anything. The worst thing that happened to home depot is that they caged everything and they don't have enough staff to open the cages. On multiple occasions i had to wait 20-30 minutes to have a tool cage open. If they added the cages they should add the help button as well . The other down side is , if you're shopping for a caged tool and some other stuff like wiring thats also caged once they open something you have to basically check out and forget about the rest . We have a 169 year old Greek revival farmhouse with true 2 x 4 construction and less than standard size door openings. My husband and I wanted to purchase a new front door with side lites. To say that Fred and Bobby at the Millwork desk worked tirelessly and patiently with me is an under statement!! The size of our rough opening limited our options greatly but I insisted that the door fit the character of our home. Okay, so I have found the selection at this Home Depot to be better than most. Cons: Their special order department is a complete and unapologetic shit show. I made a huge special order and they screwed it up and it set me weeks behind with my contractor. When the replacement order showed up, there were damaged items. Won't special order anything from here again. As mentioned, many of the employees are nowhere to be found when you need help with something. I've had to walk around the store and finally I find someone who says they can't help me and they page someone who takes 20 minutes to show up only to tell me that the person I need is out sick or on a day off. This happens often. Their flower/plant selection is rough ... Everything is half wilted and the flowers last only a few days. I'm absolutely convinced you can't buy anything here that will last. I stopped trying and go to a local greenhouse instead. Way busier than other locations! Pros: The returns are easy. 90 days and many times you don't even need the receipt if you played with a credit card. (Although don't get me started on the data breech!) John is about as competent an employee as I have dealt with at any home repair store. He's the one I go to when I want to make sure it gets done fast and correctly. They seem to have more stock than the other stores. I find that the Auburn store has a better selection and it seems that when I do a search on the website, the Auburn location always has what I need vs. Other locations nearby which are out of stock. Clearance prices here seem to be better than other stores. Every now and again I will come across a random clearance item at huge savings. (75% off an electric smoker last season.) The Depot is good for cheap stuff ... I find Loews has higher quality and better looking items, but Loews usually also has higher prices. read more

I don't shop in this location as ofyten since they open in Oxford, just ten minutes south. Though the selection in Oxford is sometimes smaller it is also far less busy. I stopped in yoday because I was shopping across the parking lot at BJ's. Not sure why I got such a strange look when I asked if they had ice melt yet. Sure we've barely had the first freeze of the season but if you have snow throwers and all of your Christmas stuff on display, it's not that strange a question to ask. read more

I normally don't write reviews on big box stores but when it comes to the down-right INSULTING treatment my mother got when she went in to the store this afternoon, the treatment was ABSOLUTELY unacceptable and needs to be put out there. She went in to price match a sink she saw on another website that had it for a cheaper price. When she first walked in to the kitchen department, she found an older woman (her name was Anna) and asked her if she could assist her on a price match. Anna asked what item my mother would like price matched, she told her and Anna immediately said "oh, we aren't going to be able to do that". My mother than asked to speak to a manager because the website clearly states they price match. Anna proceeded to interrogate her saying "there is too much of a price difference". THEN proceeds to ask the dumbest question I've ever heard "why don't you buy it from that company instead of us?" (Um ANNA, do you not want our business?). She then said in a know-it-all attitude "we don't price match Amazon." (The company of the price match was not amazon). So AGAIN for the 5th time, my mother had to demand for a manager. Anna, (probably pretending), "called" a manager saying the manager would take $50 off. Finally, my mom had to ask again (what is this, the 15th time now??) to physically see and speak with a manager. And then what do you know? The manager named Keith was so so so helpful (shout out to Keith!) and helped my mother through the hour long ordeal (because of Miss 70 year old Anna acting like she knew all of corporates rules). In my opinion, Anna should retire and go home to sit on her orange sofa to binge watch the Golden Girls. ANYWAY, long story long, there are helpful employees that work at the Auburn Home Depot and there are the most effing rude employees. I've been going to this Home Depot for over ten years. At times the women at the front desk were wildly rude, at other times the help has been non existent or incompetent, but the sh*t show I have endured trying to return a $40.00 mailbox kit is the last straw. First, I sent my contractor who also needed lumber; I asked him to return the (still in the box) item along with the receipt. He was there 3 hours during which time I spoke to a salesperson, customer service, and a manager; all they could say was their computers were down. He came back with the thing in hand... he was on my clock. That cost me an extra $75.00. This store is the closest to where I live; and it's a 20 minute drive. I went there again today not knowing my driver's liciense was still in the CVS bag from the night before when I picked up meds. The Home Depot clerk first said they were not exchanging anything or offering store credit. I challenged this; so then he spoke to a manager who was standing nearby chatting wiht another manager. One of them waived him off and told him to give me a credit. Next, he asked me for my drivers license. It is then that I discovered that I had left it at home. I had at least 15 other pieces of ID but they insisted on a passport or military ID. The tall, youngish, and bald male manager on duty decided it was helpful to show me their computer screen; this was not helpful. I then left the item in the cart, told them to keep it, and walked away. The manager quickly returned to his very important gossip session. His actions showed he couldn't care less. The inflexibility and complete lack of willingness to offer any resolution was astounding to me; it is the height of rudensess and incompetence. Why couldn't he have asked me if I could fax or email my license when I got home? In short the $40.00 mailbox post was costing me more than double what I had paid... just to return it. A logical layout and uncluttered aisles are two of the pros of this store. It would be more convenient if you didn't have to go up a hill. I had no issues but it's summertime now. A tree also obstructed the sign and you can't see it from the road so I overshot the entrance and had to circle around. The bar code gun did not work and I had to get help since they force you to do self-checkout. They have wanted this all along and covid is an excuse. Most businesses have cashiers to take your payment and they wipe down the credit card keypad after each use if you pay that way. Here you are left to touch the dirty screen with your hands. Never again going to Auburn Home Depot for big ticket items. Problems from the day I placed my order. "Bi-lingual" person calling to set up room measure. I had to call back twice because I could not understand the caller. Customer Service in the store, less then helpful or friendly. Carpet Installer came to install carpet (I had to take a day off), the Carpet pad was 6ft to short! Not blaming the installers. They were great. Came for another specialty lightbulb. Home Depot is the place for hard to find bulbs. I know this will seem weird but they had a super clean fresh smelling women's restroom. We hired the Home Depot in Auburn, MA to remodel our kitchen. The entire process took close to one year, and they walked off the job and never finished. We were left without a kitchen for close to three months, which had us making meals with a toaster oven and microwave in our living room, washing dishes in the bathroom. The staff at Home Depot and the contractors they provided repeatedly made errors ordering materials. The communication was terrible and there was nobody leading the project, even though that is what they promised. There was constant damage. It was very difficult and time consuming to get workers to show up at the house. DO NOT let the Home Depot in your house, especially if you have small children whose safety you are concerned about, because they do not care. read more

The sales person Bob at the Auburn Home Depot in MA demonstrated how the windows would tilted. When the windows arrived my contractor install the first set . The windows were vinyl on the inside and vinyl on the outside. I complained to Home Depot and they said they would give me dollar for dollar toward ordering other windows. The problem was I couldn't place an order until Anderson had another sale. So I had to wait and windows take 4 to 6 weeks to come in. The next set of window were installed and they tilted differently than the ones demonstrated in the store by the sales person Bob. The windows also infiltrate air around the sill . I again complained to home depot and now it is November. The first set is still not ordered and now we are having more problems with the next set. The manager said we had to wait until January for a Sale!!!!! So my husband and I went into home Depot January 2, 2017 and were told that there is no Sale in site until January 15th . We called January 10th just to double check and sure enough we were then told there is in fact no sale !. It is now January 27, 2017 and No Anderson rep has come out as of yet . It is in the middle of winter and our walls can not be closed, and we are burning up oil like it is going out of style. We can't put our kitchen in until the floors get refinished, and we can't refinish the hardwood floors until the blue board goes up ,and we can ,t put the blue board up until the correct windows get ordered and reinstalled, and we can't order the correct windows because home deep ass doesn't a sale!!!!!!!!!! Finally Brian the District Manager said they would give me my money back on the windows only. Home Depot is not willing to give me money for the labor. Do not pay for "scheduled delivery" AKA express delivery.  They will not honor the delivery date.  I paid $79 to have supplies for a job I was supposed to start on a Monday delivered on the Saturday prior.  On the delivery day (Saturday) I got a message that 2 items I ordered were cancelled, and would not be delivered.  That was bad, but what is worse is that they never delivered that day.  I know the delivery date was January 2nd when I made the purchase, but sometime later the delivery date was changed to January 4th.  Then, on Monday, they decided not to deliver again.  They claimed they would not deliver since no one was home.  There was no signature requirement for my delivery, and of course no one was home-It was Monday and I was trying to start a job!  It's not my fault they didn't deliver on the day I PAID $79 for!  How can they claim "We'll bring products to your home or jobsite at a scheduled time" when they deliver when/if they feel like.  If you work in a trade (like I do) you cannot have delinquent deliveries.  If you work construction, do not use their delivery service.  I spent over $2000 on parts for this job and all I have to show for it is a two day delay, and an angry General Contractor!  If it doesn't show up tomorrow, I'll have to cancel or return the entire the entire order, and go to the supply house that I should have gone to to begin with. read more

While shopping for appliances for our new home, my wife and I were not impressed with the lack of knowledge that the salespeople possessed. Simple questions regarding pricing and rebates were met with blank stares and made us feel as if we were bothering the salesperson. We had better luck at a small mom and pop store (whitco in spencer) where the salespeople were knowledgable and the prices very reasonable. I was looking for a bunch of wooden stakes. The shelves were out so I asked a gentleman at a computer. He looked them up and said "yup, we have 56 in stock." I said ok where? He pointed to the area i was just at. I said no, they are not there. He rolled his eyes at me and called someone, telling him to meet me back at that departmnt. I waited for about 10 minutes, no one showed up. I walked back to the desk, which was pretty far, someone took me to ANOTHER department where we found 12 stakes. I was in the store for over 30 minutes and probably walked back and forth for about a mile. Needless to say, I was extremely frustrated at the lack of knowledge and willingness to help. It took over 40 minutes to rent a carpet cleaner, the old timer working the desk couldn't figure out the computer.
