I went there the other day to paint a panel wall in my old 50's home. The sales clerk said that the Behr Marquee paint was the best they had. So I spent extra and bought it in a Compass Blue, flat. I spent 5 hours taping/ and painting. Next morning when paint had dried I noticed that there were spots of very shiny areas on the wall. I'm guessing the guy didn't mix it correctly or there was a problem with the product. Either way the asst. manager, I think his name was Blaze and the girl working the paint section couldn't be bothered, he said they cover the product but not the quality. He gave me a refund on the paint but I really felt they should have given something for the time I have to spend on fixing the wall. Won't buy the Behr Marquee paint again and am not happy with Home depot, may need to switch to Lowes. read more

Bought a $500 tool box online from Roseville. They brought out a dusty floor model with a dent in it. Next closest location was 25 minutes away. When I arrived I was told I had to wait 2 hours before I could get it. Then they couldn't even find it. Took all day to get a tool box. Terrible experience. read more

There's one specific associate that works here and I don't think I've ever met a more unprofessional associate my whole life. Short blonde female who's name started with S. I don't quite remember. I was asking a question about caulking since my husband sent me for a specific brand but I couldn't remember. She was taking way too long to call and find the answer, more training definitely needed here! I asked if I could speak to her manager and she brushed me off saying she had to dial another department about the caulking first. Can't you press a button for your manager?! I'm not stupid. I told her I'll go find them and the caulking on my own. That's when she says under her breathe "sounds like you need a caulking" and turned away. Incredibly innapropriate! Someone needs to reprimand these associates immediately. If I could give zero stars I would. read more

If I could give minus stars I would! I am a disabled veteran and went to this store a couple of days ago. I had my cane with me as the motorized cart was nowhere to be found! I needed the Rust-Oleum bath tub paint to finish my tub. I was looking for it and was in the center of the aisle when an employee rudely tells me to leave the area as he has to block the entire aisle for some reason or another. I said that I just needed the paint and I would be right out of the way. He almost got to the point of pushing me along but I didn't wait that long. This type of treatment has happened to me at this store several times over the past year. Employees don't ask if you are in need of assistance, walk right in front of you and block your reach of a part you really need and when asked to move momentarily, they angrily tell me NO! I had spoken to Assistant Manager Ryan Anderson on one occasion and he was more than helpful. He actually went around and picked out what I needed and cashed me out! Well, this last time Ryan wasn't there! A manager named Mike was there and he was less than helpful. He made excuses for that employee saying that he had to close the aisle for another customer. I asked why didn't he get what both customers needed while he had the aisle closed and he didn't know! I told him that it hurt me to walk for extended periods and that I was done with his store. I also told him that I was going to Lowe's and that I would complain to the regional office and he said (in a sarcastic tone) that that complaint would only come back to him anyway! So I told him that I would hit the open media with the complaint. His response, good luck with that. This company needs to close their doors and re-open with some fresh blood in the managerial department! Then they should fire about one half of their hourly employees and hire people that give a hoot! I went to Lowe's and was greeted at the door and every employee that passed me asked if I was in need of assistance. It took me about 10 minutes to cash out as apposed to the over 30 minutes I spend at Home Depot without getting anything! I got employees that were less than impressed to be working there and a sarcastic manager that didn't give a hoot about me. Please, don't waste your time or money at The Home Depot. This Home Depot is the worst. I just left there and waited over ten minutes for someone to come and help us ...after they called for assistance.... No one came. Then once we got in line to check out Art the cashier, had to count his money and make us wait we finally went to self check out, he didn't seem to want to work today. This Home Depot is worse than the DMV and the people that work there are awful. I have complained to management and they seem to have the same attitude... This store is showing its' age. I can usually find what I need but with some difficulty. I would really like to see them relocate into an updated facility. Parking lot is not user friendly. There is some vacant land just down the street from this location on Manzanita Ave. Just a thought. Prices are fair and I can find some products here not available at Lowes. read more

We went to this home depot because we needed to return light bulbs and because we had a question about a sensor light that we purchased over a year ago. The woman at the customer service/return desk was so helpful and friendly, and she exchanged our item without any hassle. It's not the home depot that closest to our house, but I would make the trip to go here just because of great service. Thank you! read more

It all started when we returned a carpet cleaner. Anna at the service desk was wearing her jeans low and loose. Earlier in the day we had witnessed her obnoxious attitude towards other customers, now it was our chance to experience it first hand. Upon returning the carpet cleaner Anna had a sour look upon her face. She made a snarky comment about the cleaner being dirty, as if a carpet cleaner was not meant to be used to clean dirty things. As Anna was putting the carpet cleaner back on the shelf she was disgusted with us and didn't hold back on how she felt that we brought back a dirty machine. I looked Anna directly in her sour face and asked if she ridiculed all customers when they brought back carpet cleaners, or if this was just a one time thing. She immediately backpedaled and said that it was no big deal, that they have someone who cleans them once a month. I could tell something was off about this Anna girl at first glance. I don't know if it was the mustard stains on her apron, or the food stuck in her teeth. I do know one thing though, people like this who have a general disregard for personal hygiene should not be put up front to work at the customer service desk. I would love to say that I will never shop at The Home Depot again, but its a good store. What I will vouch to do from this day forward, is go to The Home Depot and see if Anna is working. If she is, I will go out of my way to make her day as piss poor as her attitude was tonight. Anna, if you don't like your job, or your life for that matter, then just quit. Well let me start by saying, we regularly come to this Home Depot. We live right across Madison. However today was the worst experience considering it should've been fun and exciting tree shopping. To begin, it wasn't all bad. Keavan was such a help, so personable and very, very helpful despite our tree pickiness. Now, where to start. The supervisor in the tree area today, named "Sam", an older white lady with short blonde hair wearing an elf hat was so rude! In the past, it has never been an issue with how many trees we open because if we're spending $80 then we should be happy with whatever tree we buy! Now, Sams approach to telling us we only have a max of 5 to open was curt, rude and overall unprofessional. As we continued to look at trees, Sam had an extremely negative conversation about us to to another employee by the name of Alex. I overheard their conversation and referring to how many trees we had already seen. Once we finally SETTLED on a tree due to her brash approach and feeling embarrassed/rushed, we went inside to buy our other Christmas items. Mind you, we came with three little ones under the age of 5. My daughter started crying so my sister ran to grab her some balloons that had flown away in order to soothe her crying. Let's talk Bonnie. Now Bonnie ran over to grab the balloons from my sister and when my sister asked if my daughter could have just one, she flatly said no. My sister politely tried to persist and say, "Not just one?" And Bonnie stared blankly and again said, "No, these are for the other kids." I was livid. I have never been treated so poorly and unkindly. She snatched the balloons away without even a thank you for grabbing them since they blew away. HORRIBLE RETURN POLICY, SECRETLY HIDDEN FROM CUSTOMERS, Purchased $650 worth of ceiling fans, light switches, led lights, etc. Needed to return the light switches because they were not compatible with our ceiling fans. HD refused to refund ANYTHING on this receipt because I used an $11 in store credit towards this purchase. Apparently anything bought with an Instore credit is NON-REFUNDABLE. Meaning, anything on the receipt is non-refundable, regardless of what it is. If anything was wrong with these ceiling fans, I would be stuck with them because of this $11 in store credit. I went to return the light switches an to get my $130 back and they REFUSED a return. Two were unopened and one was, which is how we found out then we're not compatible. I had the packaging and the receipt to prove I purchased this, also using my credit card, but they said its store policy not to refund anything on the receipt used with an instore credit. WTF??? I am so pissed. Not only did I buy the damn thing, since I have the receipt to prove it, but at no point ,from the cashier, was I told if I used this I store credit, everything purchased on this receipt is null and void for a return. I also see that they will not refund ANYTHING on a recipe that had a military discount given. They state you must return everything on the receipt in order to get a refund for one item you are just trying to return. What???. So if I bought five items but just one doesn't fit right, then I have to return all of them? WHO DOES THIS?? Never heard of this or experienced this in my entire life. What a freaking ripoff. Buyer beware of the installation service offered here. I fell victim to a shoddy AC installation in 2005 that never worked properly, we only recently discovered the unit was not installed to code by Seco heating and air. It was not level, and the unit was too large for the condensate pan, so when the primary condensate became blocked recently my attic flooded into my kitchen ceiling. Why you may ask? Well they did not hookup the emergency secondary condensate line so the water just ran out of the pan and into my attic, eventually making a 4 foot bubble in my kitchen ceiling. The Home Depot card was billed 4-22-05 but Home Depot can't find any record and refuses to take responsibility since the contractor is now out of business. Corporate strung me along for 3 weeks while i waited for a solution. Why did I wait so long to find the problem you may ask? Well I am not an hvac expert, I hired Home Depot to do that and I would not have known anything was wrong until a reputable contractor told me.. The worst, most moronic store I have ever visited. I woild give less tham a star if I could. Last time I went for 2 things and after searching for 6 different workers and getting 6 different answers on where kid safety latches were located I finally left. Swore I wouldnt go back and made the mistake today of violating that. Waited 15 mins for a person to rekey a lock and they never came and this after getting sent to two different locations for weed gaurd sheets. The managers of this store ahould be fired. I went in looking for a specific screw yesterday between 4-5:30. I asked an associate for help. He directed me to another associate because it was his department. He didn't even try to answer my question. I told the associate that I was directed to that I needed his help when he was finished with the customer he was helping. He told me he would be right with me. I saw the customer he had been helping walk by. I wait about ten more minutes after that for him to return and never saw him again. I work customer service so this really irritates me. When I work I take the customers in the order they had asked me in. He may have gotten another question, but should have told that customer to give him a second because he already had someone waiting. I stood my the Samsung washer and dryer waiting and waiting. Many employees passed me by but none asked it I needed help. Two employees stood behind me at other washers talking to each other the whole time but never asked if I needed help. Upon checking out I let the cashier know that I had been waiting a long time for another employee to return to help me but they never came back. She did not apologize or offer to find someone to help me. I was very disappointed with today's service. It seems like the only department where I've actually received good help is in the paint department. I should have gone to Ace right up the street where they seem to be a lot more attentive. But I had bought the lock from Home Depot so I thought they might be able to offer better service and have the item that I needed in stock. I was very disappointed with every aspect of the the service I received from start to finish at this location. They must not value their customers who are only there for a small replacement. I am wondering if I should return the lock and just buy online from Amazon so they don't get any money from me. Or maybe go to Lowe's and see if they can offer me better assistance. But Home Depot will not see anymore of my money. My mom hasn't shopped there for years, it seems mom knows best and I should have listened to her. read more

Horrible experience....we purchased a new refrigerator that includes basic installation and water hookup. When it was delivered, we were told because we had a copper water line and not plastic they could not hook up the water. We called Home Depot who said they would call us back to get this resolved, they did not. We went to the store and was told we could get a water installation kit and do it ourselves or they could send someone out for an additional fee, even though it was supposed to be included in the purchase price. We decided on the kit and needless to say we are not handy, but were told it was a two minute job. After two hours of attempting to attach this fitting, we went back to the store and were told we were given the wrong part, sigh. We got another fitting and it went on easily, only to return home later that evening and find water all over our kitchen floor. After a couple more trips to home depot and an entire weekend spent attempting to hook up the water line, we have a beautiful fridge with an ice maker and water with no ice and no water. We will never, ever buy another appliance from Home Depot. read more

Years ago when I used to do property maintenance when I was young, I was inside this Home Depot at least twice a day, five or six days a week. I no longer do property maintenance but my memories inside this Home Depot will stay with me for a very long time, perhaps the rest of my life. When I used to go here this was by far and away the worst Home Depot in Sacramento, and I've been to just about all of them. Believe me when I say this is the worst one! They would not help you when you asked for help getting something down off of a high shelf, and if you couldn't find something in the store on your own you could forget about it because no one was going to assist you no matter how many times you asked. I recently returned after a long absence to find that nothing has changed, this is still by far and away the worst Home Depot in Sacramento. At the windows and floors desk, there is a girl named Harmony who works there. Harmony incorrectly ordered a special order door, and special order doors are not returnable. I was furious because they not only ordered the door wrong with the wrong dimensions, but it was actually lost for almost a week before Home Depot even found the door! One of the store managers is named David, he was very arrogant and unhelpful about the situation. He repeatedly said that we were stuck with the door and he refused to help us even though you could tell from his face that he knew it was Harmony's fault. He then said that he would talk to his supervisor and call me back the next day, needless to say he never called back. But that's how this Home Depot is, it's the worst one in the entire city and County of Sacramento. I had to call Home Depot's corporate office in Atlanta, GA in order to get a refund on the door, they were extremely helpful, unlike the store itself. In years past I remember many times having customers of the store ask me for help on what to buy for their projects because they saw that I worked in some type of construction and property maintenance. They were asking me because they couldn't get any employee to help. That tells you something, it shows you how bad the store really is. On 12/13/17, I made a purchase at Carmichael Home Depot. One line running down isle 9 for about 5 cashiers, as a few of the cashiers just stood there and customers are unable to see which one is open. As I showed my MIlitary ID. to the cashier Christina ,she thanked me for my service,but failed to give me my MIlitary discount. I suggested,the way the checkout line was formed was confusing and inefficient. She got rude and replied ,it works for Home Depot. read more

Customer service is non-existent. This is my nearest hardware store, but I'll drive to Lowe's on Sunrise or Emigh's before I will give this store another dime. Spent 30 minutes in the appliance section, trying to find a freezer that the website said was in stock. After 10 minutes we managed to get an employee to "track someone down". 10 minutes later he was wrangling carts & we were still waiting around, though about 6 employees had purposefully avoided eye contact (apparently they keep the employee water in one of the fridges). He muttered something about "I asked" with a sigh and walked off. Went to customer service, asked again, stood around another 15 and then decided to try Lowe's. (Within 30 seconds of approaching the freezer at big blue we were asked if we needed help and within 10 minutes we watching it get loaded into the van.) I wish I could say this was an unusual experience as this Home Depot, but it's pretty par for the course. I've watched employees stand around BSing, only to run off at the first sign of someone looking confused, apathetic point-and-grunt at "maybe Aisle 11, I'm not sure", to laughing it me when I asked which aisle the Teflon tape was on, and telling me that someone probably made it up to confuse me, when there was a carboard end cap display in plumbing. Given the length of time this has been occuring, I can only assume it's a top-down mentality. Unless you know extactly what you want, and where it is, you're better off at Lowe's on Sunrise, Emigh's on El Camino, or, if you really love orange, Home Depot in Natomas or West Sac - those folks are awesome. read more

Make sure you ask about their return policy if you buy an appliance. I purchased a refrigerator at this store that was delivered damaged. It was delivered on a very rainy day and came with mud splattered all over. The delivery men didn't even bother to clean it. I looked it over and everything looked okay but after they left, I wiped it off and noticed two scratches. I called to let them know about this and both the associate and customer support didn't care since it was past the 48 time frame, which nobody bothered to tell me about. read more

I used to shop at this Home Depot but over the last couple years their Garden Center was letting their quality slip. I ended up having to go to Lowes, Windmill or Capital to get fresh plants and flowers. I recently went by Windmill to find out they were out of business so I decided to swing by Home Depot. and to my surprise the Garden Center was full of beautiful fresh flowers and shrubs. I was kinda shocked. I don't know if they got new management or what but everything was really fresh and clean. Home depot has always had better prices so I am happy I don't have to drive all over town to find a fresh plant. I am happy they are stepping up their game and earning my business back. I can now save money and gas and keep my money in my own community. read more

Vowed ten years ago never to use Home Depot for any installation job (a kitchen remodel "disaster" at that time). Their installers were poorly trained and communication was unsatisfactory. But time erases bad memories so I bought a water heater to be installed. Learned their installer was Delta Mechanical in Fair Oaks, CA. Please see my review of Delta Mechanical, as well as many other's review of this company and Home Depot. Not satisfactory. Bought an appliance with home delivery (cooktop). Unfortunately it didn't fit. I tried to return it with receipt less than a week later in order to exchange for a more expensive unit. In other words, Home depot would have made more money. Unfortunately they informed me there would be a 15% restocking fee!!! When I challenged it, the manager offered to meet me half-way, but there was still a restocking fee for a brand new item with all parts ready to sell. I am very disappointed! The Home Depot in Carmichael is the dirtiest oldest HD store I've ever been in, & customer service has gotten really bad. Worst parking lot of any HD in Sacramento Cnty. Doors are always wide open so dogs are allowed in the store, but no attention is paid if dogs aren't on a leash or the size of dog. I was unable to complete my shopping for tools because a large Pit Bull, tho on a leash, wouldn't move even tho his owner was several feet away. I was afraid to approach the area. There was a clerk on a ladder right next to the man, & he saw me trying to get to the tools, but made no comment to the man to pull the dog in. Same day, a little later, another man came in with two large black labs, on leashes, walking about 5' away on either side of their owner, intimidating to anyone around & drew quite a bit of negative attention. I made a comment to one of the clerks but she just said "oh ya, there's so many dogs coming in today". And "No", these aren't Service Dogs. Because of this, I had to leave without being able to buy what I came in for. Worth the extra drive to the Antelope HD. Lowe's is at least cleaner, also allows dogs on leashes only and at least keeps the doors closed. Sure do miss that OSH Hardware Store. read more
