Poor customer service, if you call they transfer your call and no one answers, regardless of the number of times you call.

I attempted to order receptacles and trim plates (electrical) to re do most of my home. The shipment arrived at my house and we're the wrong color. I ordered white and they came in grey. Wasted a weekend. Second time around, when they came, the packaging showed the correct color however, when unboxed, the receptacles were grey not white as they were supposed to be. Another weekend scheduled for the project wasted. I give up on Home Depot. read more

Been coming here for years all departments are okay but the blinds and carpet department needs work seems like you can never find some one to cut carpet or blinds... so be prepared to go tell some one to call some one over don't waste your time waiting.. they aren't coming back soon. read more

Their carpet contractor is Romanov renovations. Carpet installed was posponed a week from original schedule. Day before i had to call in to verify they were coming. Day of job they called to tell me they were coming late morning to early afternoon. I mentioned the job included demolition of ceramic tile and carpet install...starting that late sounded a poor idea. Gal said she had no order for demo and had to call me back. Got a call a bit later, found the request for demo but had no one to do it. This is where all the problem now started. Long story short, tile demo guy showed up with an injured back. He was scheduled for a chiropractor visit but had to cancel it in order to get called out to the house to do the tile demo. Carpet guy was supposed to help but he got there two hours later and sat outside for 3 hours doing nothing to help the tile guy. The carpet guy was a helper that was pulled from another job that had no tools of his own and had to borrow them from other installers. Eventually by 2 in the afternoon the carpet had showed up a carpet installer showed up that was a helper that help the helper in training who spent more time texting on his phone then working. Home Depot bows that they move furniture for their installs. That did not happen my son and I had to move the furniture for the tile guy because he could barely move. The carpet guy did nothing to help either. Eventually around 2 in the afternoon the carpet was now starting to get worked on and II carpet helper bugged out around 5:30 saying he wasn't feeling well leaving his partner to do the Lion's Share of the project. I buzzed on the phone several times a Home Depot to try to get this facilitated and with the renovation company to get help out there. I spent most of my day trying to manage this job while trying to finish some contract work on the home myself which delayed me on my project. At 8:30 I was on the phone outside trying to make some arrangements for another project when I noticed the carpet guy Pat putting his tools away closed his vehicle up and peeled rubber out of the parking lot to get the heck out of Dodge. I went to the other room to check the job out and it was not completed. No word was said to me at all about the results of what was supposed to happen next. My customers were left with their bedrooms and shambles and nothing assembled. I by myself had to move the furniture again reassemble the beds for my customers so that they could get sleep that night. By far the most horrible experience I've ever seen in my 61 years. Home Depot did nothing to help facilitate any results to the project and Romanoff Renovations it did absolutely nothing to communicate or to facilitate a job in a timely fashion. Anybody that can read this post stay away from Contracting any work with Home Depot because Romanoff Renovations does the Lion's Share of Home Depot's work horrible read more

We were buying a pallet of stepping stones and we came to pick them up, when we got here they took a while to get some one to bring the forklift to the front for us to load them into our car. As we were loading them there were broken stones. We got as many as possible into our car then we went home to unload. When we came back we had to wait for over an hour before anyone brought our stepping stones back to the front. There customer service is terrible. Will not be coming back to this location! read more

Horrible unprofessional customer service at the return counter . I just went in to return a screen door that I purchased cash, I understand they have a policy on certain items to be returned at a certain time period. I paid cash on a $94 item only to be denied money or store credit back. I will never conduct any business at any Home Depot ever again. Regardless of it being in my neighborhood . What upset me the most was they denied them even attempting to look at the item number for any type of credit. read more

This quite possibly the worst Home Depot on the planet. Three trips and two hours were spent trying to get two deadbolts re-keyed and we are literally still in the store waiting. Went in to ask a simple question at the return desk and the lady that was there today at 9:40 on 8/4/2019 was very rude. I asked if I was to get a ladder and it was not the right size would I be able to retune it or exchange it for a different one and her response was very rude she stated " well if u use CASH only and have ur receipt or just go and use the ladder and return it I guesssssssss!!!!!" Her facial expression was not kind at all. I said no mam I want to know what the policy is just in case it's not the right height. I didn't want to go into details but I'm currently painting my house and was not sure what size it was at the moment so I wanted to make sure I wasn't stuck with a ladder that was not the right size for our home. But it was as simple as answering the rerun and exchange policy. So if ur at the return check out and a lady with a brown medium ponytail About 5" wait for the next person to be available to help. We decided to take our business else where we were in the process of getting our fence supplies there but I guess we can go somewhere with better costumer service. read more

Unbelievably bad customer service at this home depot. I needed some 2x4's from a stack that had been picked through in the front so I had to bring down a few from the back... no biggie. They are too busy to level the lumber but not too busy to give a safety lecture?! I expected to be ignored but this was nuts. oh Home Depot. Reviewing and talking about food is a lot funner than talking about a place that sells stuff that needs to be put together, minus instruction manuals. Hmmm... they have great paint, wood, metal....blah blah blah. Staff/Service: The staff at Home Depot, every Home Depot I've been to, is amazing. They are super nice, and super knowledgeable. I just wish every business had employees like this place. Or maybe they just know when I come here with my dad they know we spend hecka money. I'd give Home Depot 5 stars if it weren't for the sharks they have approaching every customer in the store about remodeling their kitchen or bathroom... Isn't Home Depot for the "weekend warriors," the DIY'ers? Why the sales people?? I cannot stand being asked every time I step foot in this store. I'd just like to shop in peace. Hey honestly I just love home depot period. The customer service is unbeatable. I'll never forget one time my husband was loading bags of cement into a cart. An employee walked up and said, "let me help you with those." Didn't ask, just helped. It was nice. I also love the kids workshop. Well, at least my kids do. read more

It's very hard to get someone knowledgeable to answer your questions. I had a good experience in the hardware department but more recently a negative experience when buying shower doors. Two people knew nothing about the doors. I also resent being harassed by "employees" (not sure if they employees or not) who try to sell me insulation when I am looking for kitchen cabinet door knobs. I don't like this type of pushy sales and it makes the whole shopping experience very uncomfortable. read more

This was once my favorite place to shop. The Solar salespeople here are the new hare krishnas. They won't take no for an answer and they are even roaming the aisles to bug you while you try to find what you want. I hope they are paying the store a lot for the ability to do that because I'll be going to Lowes or Orchard from now on. read more

I am sooo disappointed with their policy for returns. It's normally 90 days but apparently a washer and dryer is considered a special order and I would be charged 15% restocking fee . Ugh. So annoying considering I bought a washer and dryer and the washer broke down less then 2 months and it's so sad to have something so new already need to be repaired. And with that policy they literally force me to keep them. I can't afford to loose over 140 to return both to get a different brand and still have them Match I just think it's unfair. And kind of leaves their customers to fend for themselves. Be careful where you buy. Ask about returns just in case so you don't loose money read more

Worst experience with the purchase of flooring! We were overcharged $3.78 per box and we had purchased 55 boxes. You would think this would be a simple transaction!!!! NOT!!! Home depot has to credit back the whole purchase then rering it with the correct price. Well on a Saturday most bank transactions dont go through till Monday so $3300 was tied up. Not a happy camper. And to add insult to injury the manager helping me asked me why I was shopping at theire store when Folsom was closer, and was I sure the photo I took of their shelf price was actually taken at their store!!! Well our daughter lives closer to their store and this purchase was for her. Needless to say we returned the entire purchase and took our business elsewhere, where they appreciate the business and treat their customers right!! So the tip here is if you plan on making a large purchase make sure it's the correct price or you will have a huge mess to deal with. read more

Home Depot's web page can be customized by the Home Depot close to you. THEN when you search for the item you want, the web page will indicate the AISLE the item is located on. When I got to HD, I thought the web site was wrong. But I was wrong. I found the item in the listed aisle. This is sometimes an easier way to find the items you want. read more

We went to the Home Depo next to my house in the beginning of November and asked if they would be able to install Carpet/Laminate in before Dec 19, they said could not have laminate because we had asbestos, but ok to put down vinyl, but no problem. Wrong! There was several problems 1) the person that came out and measured said nothing about any problems, if there was any. And set up appointments for carpet and vinyl for different days. 2) a different guy came out to install the Vinyl, he comes in and says that there is a problem that we have asbestos and can't put in vinyl, that if it was his house he would put in Laminate. I told him that is what I wanted and the sales person said we could not have, he said that is your best way to go. So he canceled the appointment. I went down to talk to the sales person and told him what the tech said. So they canceled the order and ordered laminate told us that the laminate was on order and they would call when comes in. So the next day I was waiting for my appointment for my carpet to be installed. When it was getting late so I called the dispatcher. She said that the appointment was canceled when the order was cancled.so I ran down to H D and talked to a sales person and told them "why was my carpet appointment canceled, so they called the people that they hired to do the work to find out why the carpet appointment was canceled. They came to the conclusion that it was a miss communication. They made another appointment a week out. Different people came out a week later to install the carpet. 3) it is after Christmas and have heard nothing about the laminate coming in, they said it came in a week ago and they called the day our carpet was installed (which the installers unplugged the phone to install the carpet), I told them fine ill come get it and made the appointment for the installation. 4) a different pair of people came to my appointment and told me that they can not install because the asbestos. Said I would have to have it removed. 5) I paid $3300.00 to have it removed and decided I was done with H D. I went to the flooring store and spoke with Larry he told me that I should not to have the asbestos removed because the Laminate encapsulated the asbestos. Had the Laminate installed in less then 2 weeks and looks great. read more

Home Depot has been very disappointing as far as their customer service goes to a female senior citizen. I have purchased Anderson sliding glass doors from Home Depot in October 7 months later they still are refusing to give me any decent consolation for doors that were manufactured very poorly. If you rub your hand across where the nails your hand will get cut installation was horrible the screws are not countersunk and they are chipping the doors as you open and close the doors. The store manager Michael Rossi is very condescending and doesn't want to deal with the issue and would rather push it off on assistant management. Assistant management has been no help whatsoever for all these months. I am very disappointed in Home Depot and in Anderson doors will not be purchasing anything anymore from Anderson or from Home Depot. Sadly yes, Home Depot did the installation of the sliding glass doors. So there are a few issues first of all the Anderson doors came in very poorly manufactured. Secondly the installation that Home Depot did is sad at best. Thirdly the way they are treating a senior citizen or anyone else for that matter is deplorable. read more

Everyone was very helpful when I needed to reserve new toilets and a new bathtub for my bathrooms remodel for my contractor to pick up and deliver. I did not have to wait for assistance and they even printed out extra copies of my receipt that I needed to send in for new toilet rebates with the water district. I also love they participate in smud's led light bulb rebates, it has made it affordable to transition my home's lighting to led's all at once instead of waiting for the incandescents to burn out one by one. read more

I am having problems with my refrigerator and I am dealing with the warranty company that is a nightmare. It's been 3 weeks, still not fix. I brought this to the attention to the Manager of Home Depot on Madison in Carmichael. They quickly brought us out a new loaner refrigerator. We shop here all the time, my husband is also a contractor and buys all his supplies here. We will continue to shop here because they know how to take care of their customers. I have to say" Ryan "at Home Depot is one of the most helpful employees there. If it's not in his department, he will not point, he takes us were we need to go. He is very knowledgeable on products and if he doesn't know he admits it. He always is smiling and willing to go out of his way to assist. I see him helping from one end to the other end of the store. He will let us know of the new products that Home Depot has. The district managers at the Home Depot's are hardly seen, should read this and take notice of the valued employee he is to the company. I worked for Home Depot for 8 years in the late 90's most of the managers were about the customer service and now theses days it's about the mighty dollar. Prices at Home Depot are higher than what you would pay at a other warehouse type home construction stores but they more than make up for it by having plenty of knowledgeable staff available, which means in some cases you spend less that half of your time searching for things, I also find myself returning things to the store less often. I have been going to this particular location for as long as I can remember. read more

It's a place I gotta go quite frequently for supplies and what have you. Carmichael has gotten real shady and I make sure to never leave tools in the back of our truck anywhere so I'd especially be sure to be extra vigilant here. Although I hope that the employees would say something if they thought a theft was in progress but you never know also you don't want anyone to get hurt. Sorry for rambling on but thought to mention the foot traffic in the area. I usually can find everything I need here, yay. Also I feel I gotta say something about all of the solar reps mulling around, on one visit I had been approached at least 6 times. I'm a renter at the moment so I truly don't have a say in obtaining a solar system. The reps were nice and maybe I should look into possibly getting into the business, however that's another tangent I don't need to go on about. read more
