The Home Depot is often thought of as the lumber supply place (and I have been there for that) and also the industrial home improvement project place, but they also have so much more. It's actually a hidden cache for cleaning supplies, too. I think if you work in the business and know what you need and where to find it - this is a good place to go. For us average joes that only visit once or twice a year, the store is big and sometimes overwhelming. What does not make sense to me is the overly sufficient number of people walking around with the orange aprons on and yet I still find it difficult to get help when I need it. Unfortunately the smaller more helpful stores in the area didn't survive the pandemic, so this store will have to do for now. read more

I've only been here 3 times my whole life (NOT KIDDING) this being my 3rd time. I only went here because my parents want to grow vegetables so they sent me here to buy vegetable plants (Tomatoes, eggplants and bitter melon) Unfortunately I could not find bitter melon in plants or seedlings. Once I found what I needed, I went on inside because I wanted to visit the garden area as I have NEVER been there before. Yes I have been in Home Depot 3 times my whole life, but never in the garden area till today. I don't have any experience in plants, gardening, but once I got to the Garden area it was nice, a new feel for me since I don't know how to plant haha. I was in there for a good 10 minutes just looking around, maybe get some ideas for my parents since they do a lot of gardening on their spare time. Placed an order online over 3 hours ago, but never gotten a notification. My thoughts were to get there and hope they missed to update their system. Got to the online order pick up desk and it turns out the "person" who was responsible on grabbing the items off the shelves was not there as if that was my problem. Had to walk the aisles to grab these items myself as she suggested. I had no other choice. A guy behind me was panicking as he had a late night project he needed to complete for his client. When you come here on weekends you can expect Sunrun Solar Salesperson standing there trying to sell you Solar Power Panel. As usual he would ask how much you pay for your monthly PG&E and tell you that they can lower it not telling you that you would be taking up a loan for 20 years to pay it off. I just wanted to shop here because I live in Concord and the only time someone approach me is from Solar Power Sales people. She spent about 30 minutes with us explaining the different features of carpeting and vinyl flooring. We were there primarily to get pricing information to help our budgeting for our remodel. The Concord Home Depot store is terrible. I can't even count how many times I've had to go back and forth. The customer service staff are bad, and the manager, J, acts like they know things, but what they say doesn't make any sense. Even when I look at the items in the store and place an order, they say the exact same item might come from a different location for delivery. I told them that I had physically checked the item and wanted to buy and have it delivered from the store, but they said it wasn't guaranteed. I just can't understand if that makes any sense. New to the area, nothing like a fun trip to my local Home Depot. I was kind of disappointed to see how small this location was! That and a lot of the shelves were missing inventory. Price tags, no product. This includes the tinted caulking I was looking for. Maybe because it was a Sunday afternoon, not sure. The other thing that was kind of weird about their setup was that the paint samples were in the back of the store instead towards the front like in most stores. I can not say enough good stuff about Lara (I think that is how you spell it). We had a small hiccup at the Martinez Home Depot and a security screen door mishap. Mark(c) at the Martinez Home Depot called Lara for me at Concord to let her know that I would be coming by. I borrowed a truck from a friend. I walked in and went to the area where the screens were located. They were pretty busy. I asked a woman walking by to verify the size of the screen I had pulled out of the shelving bay. She had a name tag and a piece of paper in her hands. Come to find out, she was looking for the screen door and was assigned to helping me out. I had such a great experience. I had other things on my list to get and she helped me out with them as well. I felt so lucky to have bumped into her. Now we just need to get it installed. Today we needed some blinds cut and were waiting for quite some time along with two other people. Stephen found us and although he could not cut them himself he stayed nearby, spoke with other associates, and made several announcements to help us. We were very grateful to him and credit him with managing to finally get someone over after an over 20min wait. It's been a while since I went to Home Depot, but I was looking for some specific hardware and decided they would be the ones to have it. First let me say, they did have it in stock which is why they are getting 1 star. I was greatly disappointed to walk around the store, after finding what I needed, to see groups of employees standing around and talking with each other. They did not appear to be helping anyone nor were they asking if anyone needed assistance. They were in groups of 3 or more, all had orange vests on, and were not paying any attention to the customers in the store. I saw at least 3 groups through out the store. One specifically in the back of the garden area. I was looking for some bricks but couldn't reach the ones I needed because there was a machine in front of them. I was able to squeeze behind the machine and get what I needed but not one of the employees offered to help. Yes, perhaps, I should have interrupted their group chat and I would have if I hadn't been able to eventually get the bricks myself. The only assistance I received was at checkout when an older Asian (I say that to identify him) motioned me over to the self check-out so he could assist me in checking out, which he did. If I was just reviewing him, the store would get 5 stars. And there may have been other employees helping customers but it was these groups that stuck out. read more

Bought a Kensgrove Ceiling Fan from Home Depot by Home Decorator Collections. The first one broke within 90 days and I was able to return it just fine. Figured it was defective, so I exchanged it for a new one. So the fan cost about 350 after taxes and it is costing me about 355 to install the first one, take it down and install the second one. The second one stopped working properly after a few months, I called the support number and they sent me out a part. I had to wait a few months for my contractor to come over and take down the fan, replace the part, and reinstall it. He came over and there was no way to remove the old part as it had a big metal ring above the screws. Home Depot site says you can bring in the Home Decorator Collections Fans back to the store to replace or refund as long as it is under warranty. I had a 1-year manufacturer's warranty (which is HOME DEPOT) and purchased the extended warranty (which apparently is All-State Squaretrade despite being sold by home depot as their warranty). Went to the store and was told I can't return or exchange it (the sales guy at customer service was very nice), I explained how the site said I could bring it in, and I understand it is beyond its return date but this is a warranty exchange, not a normal return. I showed him off the site where it said that I could bring it to the store for a free exchange. The manager came over and she explained they can't return it due to the computer telling them it was outside of the return policy. Another Manager came over after she disappeared for like 10 minutes or so. they talked at a counter and asked for my driver's license and a better receipt which I had on my phone and shows them. I was being very polite and calm with them. Despite this being 2-3 hours since I left the house to take care of the fan and I was already 350 dollars spent on installation and removal. So they tell me they can give me a store credit that can't be used online. I said that is fine. Then they say they will never again do this for me and repeated that a few times. Then gave me the store credit for the fan (but not the extended warranty which was 55 bucks and not what they told me when they sold it). I said thank you and they said again that they will never again do this. I wanted to shout at them that I am not the crook here, they sold me a fan that doesn't work for a few months which has cost me more in installation and removal than the purchase of the F'ing fan, and they are the manufacturer. It is still under warranty and their own damn site says to go to any location. So why are you treating me like I am the a-hole for bringing your fan to get it replaced to your store that I bought it from? But instead, I just smiled and said thank you, I appreciate the help, and walked out. I hope their enough that I will use the store credit but not sure I will be going back to the Concord location. Honestly, I spent enough at Home Depot this last year that I don't deserve to be treated like a crook or a scumbag. I was nothing but polite and calm with them despite having to repeat myself to multiple people. I get that they might not know how but that isn't my problem. They also wanted me to call their corporate office to get an RMA so they can process the warranty, excuse me, are you really telling me you have no way to go to a computer and process a warranty return? Then take that damn passage of the site and tell people you don't honor your own warrants and that the extended warranty is not a store warranty and it doesn't apply until after the 1-year manufacturer warranty is up. read more

We just adopted a dog yesterday. We were looking for the sliding glass door insert with the doggy door. We had our new dog with us. The staff was very helpful with our questions. Still a mixed bag. Depends on which employees you get to help you. Steve, the employee that helped us order windows, was helpful. Hopefully when the windows come, I will not have to update this review on his part. Also had a helpful employee who volunteered to help us load-- we didn't have to ask him. ** This is where it gets comical ** Mr. Jenbert asked for help looking for a certain type of screw and a different Employee merely said, "It's on Aisle X." Mr. Jenbert replied, "I've already looked there and didn't see them, can you show me?" Employee initially refused and Mr. Jenbert had to ask twice more before Employee finally relented and grudgingly walked to Aisle X. Then he started putting away items in a cart in that aisle. "Hey!" said a customer running up to the cart, "that's my shopping cart! You're putting my items back on the shelf!" Five minutes later, Mr. Jenbert passed Employee in a different aisle where he was putting away other items in another cart. Yup, dejà vu, a different customer came running up to him to let him know that he was putting away that customer's intended purchases too. Is that why he couldn't help us, because he was too busy trying to make more work for the other customers?? read more

Concord Home Depot simply has the worst customer service. Called in to make an appointment to buy some kitchen cabinets...they don't even want to talk to you anymore and direct you to the website. I have to say there was a point in time where I loved Home Depot now I am finding myself doing everything possible to not spend money here and this was the last straw. Initially I can rate this Location even a negative 5, I needed a forklift assistance and nobody came for more than 30mins. I am pretty sure iI almost asked everyone in the store but never got assistance. zi was ready to go home because of the terrible experience that I ve been getting.Until i Bumped into PAT promptly assisted me... asked the right questions and he seems to know what he is doing. Then He asked another nice Gentleman to drive the forlight . Another Gem in the store, CHRIS!!!! He helped PAT with no hesitations. Terrible experience with their window replacement service. The sales guy came out to give me an estimate. He started out being an hour late, he did call me. He arrived, took measurements and gave me a ballpark figure. I told him I'll let him know. I got nothing in writing. When I called him to get more information and get the estimate in writing he told me he will only give me the estimate when I agree to use them to replace the windows. What?? Who in their right mind would agree to use a vendor without a written estimate?? I then called his manager And relayed the issue. He apologized and told me he would contact the sales guy. The next day I got the written estimate by text. Needless to say, I did not use Home Depot to replace my windows. They were even more money than another company, with whom I ended up using. Also, the sales guy continued to text me asking who I used and how much they quoted me. It's none of their business. read more

I had to replace torn cellular blinds twice in the last six months. These were made by My Blinds that I bought at home depot about 7 yrs old . Jimi the rep replaced the first one in December as it was under warranty but the one torn in March was not covered according to another rep. It was a big hassle because that department had staffing problems. After several trips to the store and finally tracked down a rep and I replaced the second blind for a few hundred dollars and was told that warranty covered 7 yrs only and not lifetime even though booklet says so. On top of that I was overcharged for removal of several blinds even though only one needed replacement. Thanks to Colleen at customer service who corrected this promptly and also tracked delays on the part of the manufacturer. Colleen kept me informed and was efficient and courteous. So after doing a little online research I knew i was coming in to pick up one of there great webers they sell. I needed a BBQ and Webers seem to be the best brand and lasting the longest . So I came in to ask a few more Questions and get some accessories for the BBQ I choose and I had to say the customer service here was amazing . The lady who helped me here in the BBQ not sure how to spell her name Charmaine a 15 yr vet of Home Depot was amazing . Helped me with all my questions and helped me pick out all my accessories .. She was very wonderful and nice and just had great customer service .. The other nice thing a it Home Depot is if you don't own a truck that can carry what your buying out of there , they can provide you with a rental to help take what ever your buying . Which I ended up using to take home my BBQ . I believe it's about 30 dollars . But I also had great customer service with another worker named April she was very nice and just helped me out great and made the processed go by nice and easy . She was very friendly too with great customer service . Definitely a place I would return if I need any more home Things . Thank you !! read more

The Home Depot - Weber BBQ !! Amazing - Hardware Stores Near Me - Concord, California

I've never once been here and received any valuable advice or help from any of the staff. The only answers I received from any staff is "I don't know..." I'm under the impression that every employee at this Home Depot is trained to only answer with the response of "I don't know". Other than that the sheet saw is NEVER in order. I've been coming here for months and have never, not once, ever seen the sheet saw cleaned up and ready to use to allow customers with vehicles that are smaller than a pickup truck to be able to purchase sheet lumber and have it cut down to size for them. Why is this such a hard thing to repair? It's home depot. They literally have every part available to repair a sheet saw and can also just setup a couple of saw horses and a circular saw while the sheet saw is down to help out their customers. I understand if the saw breaks for a day and is down but this particular Home Depot in Concord has it permanently out of order. Set something up for your customers in the meantime so that we don't have to drive to other home depots to get sheets cut. All I can think of when seeing the saw down for this long is sheer incompetence and utter laziness. read more

All of them CONSTANTLY delineate their jobs to the next person. Avoid all all costs, my requests with them have been beyond simple and reasonable. On the lighter note, If you're looking to work some place and not have to be accountable for a single thing and not actually do anything other than show up. Well, golly you're in luck. This is a busy store and the staff is overwhelmed. We couldn't get help for anything. Not to buy a grill, a firepit, gardening stuff, plumbing, lumber, or to open the propane cages to get Tue propane tank we paid for. Three notes to start: 1. Its near impossible to get help here 2. Just skip this location and go to the Martinez one. Its much cleaner, better organized and more friendly! 3. Know this: The inventory on the Home Depot website is not accurate!! More on that later. We have been to this location several times over the last few months as we are working on a van conversion project. They have had what we needed for the most part but the layout of the store is a challenge- its hard to know where things are. The only real positive thing I can say is that their garden department has had the plants I've wanted every time I've gone. However when we went last night looking for the plywood we needed they did not have what we needed- despite the website indicating that they had 32 sheets in stock. Also, it took my asking 3 different employees for help locating the items for someone to finally walk me to the aisle and then subsequently tell me they did not have any. The other 2 employees just told me to check that aisle and kept walking. I searched the aisle up and down several times before finally seeking out a help once again because I thought I HAD to be missing something because I just could not find it! read more
