On the first Saturday of every month they hold an awesome DIY project class for kiddos! You don't have to register online BUT if you don't there is a possibility they may not have a spot left (so I do recommend registering online, it just makes everything easier for everyone) once you arrive for your project each kiddo gets a cool Home Depot smock, a pin, and a kit that includes your project wood, nails, screws, and instructions! if you schedule for "curbside pickup" - you have to call and sometimes go inside. the curbside pickup portion of their app does not work. if you advertise something is available at a store make that thing available vs not meeting customer expectations. instead of curbside pickup - you wait at customer service desk for 10 min then put your stuff in your own car / truck. read more

All of the staff are not wearing masks, today there was a lot of staff loitering... my husband and I came for supplies for a home project... needed 2x4s ... whew ... 29 of them (excluding cracks and holes). Several feet away from us were 3 young men standing around chatting each other up. My husband never considered asking for help (ugh ... men) ... no disrespect to our men A nice gentleman seaming in our age group who began loading a cart with thick and heavy particleboard, immediately a young man appeared and ask him if he needed assistance ... who would turn down help lifting heavy wood?? As it goes he received help, we continued to load our cart and moved to check out. I was livid! My husband was indifferent I wanted to find a manager but didn't have time, so I am writing to ask that this be used as a teachable moment. Serve ALL OF YOUR CUSTOMERS... Absolute nightmare trying to get a washer and dryer. I've been bounced around from customer service, to the supervisor at the Edwardsville location, to the major appliance department for two weeks now and I still do not have my washer and dryer. I am trying to reach the general manager and no one will tell me how to contact her. I am still trying to get my washer and dryer. Please do not buy any appliances from Edwardsville Home Depot unless you ask for the manager first and don't try to change the delivery address if they type it in wrong because it will never end. This rating is for the appliance install subs. We have bought from Lowes and Home Depot and both subs failed to install, were rude and not professional. If you need an appliance, recommend you have them bring it to the store and pick up direct. Find a local handyman or a friend. Never again will I use a Home Depot sub for install. In fairness, the people at the store were good. However, highly recommend looking at changing your business model and stop subbing out this work. My hubby shops at Home Depot so often that he really needs to work there for an employee discount. He has pretty much every tool known to man. The Edwardsville employees know him and customers mistake him for a worker too. We're in the midst of a major home remodel. Hubby bought several gallons of tinted paint and we were dissatisfied with the color once it was on the wall. The salesperson refused to accept the return (it is store policy). Okay, to be honest, I hate going to the Home Depot unless it's spring and the flowers are out. But hubby loves going and we almost always find what we need. Yes, the check outs are usually a mess and I don't like checking myself out. Today they had several lanes open and we got right out, so no complaints today. Very disappointed in the quality of flooring we purchased. Their reviews showed a quality product, but if you look at other websites, the quality is bad. We returned over 800 square feet as defective. The selection of flooring and appliances was very disappointing. Went to Home Depot and ordered cabinet refacing and countertops. signed a contract on Feb. 2, work started on March 27th. Said it would take 3-5 days. Had a lot of problems and they came back out on May 3rd. Still have a lot of problems. Have talked to 5 different people and they tell us it is contractors problem, how ever they fired the contractor. No one will return phone calls. We went to a big store thinking they would have our backs, what a joke. This all for over $17,000. Wish we would have never gone there. Will never go back to Home Depot. We got horrible service at Home Depot in Edwardsville, IL. There was a door on clearance with no price on it. It had problems and they only offered us 10% off. The manager would not come out from the back and speak with us when we asked to speak with her. The employee told us he works for an hourly rate and is not on commission so basically telling us he did not care whether or not we were satisfied customers. As promised, I am adding my update. The issue has been resolved to our satisfaction. We still have a bad taste in our mouth regarding both Home Depot and Superior. After this issue occurred, we refused to let Superior return to do the hardwood install that was scheduled and we ended up saving over $500 going with an amazing private contractor. While we hold no ill will against either Home Depot or Superior, we have learned our lesson and will be sure to spend our money elsewhere in the future. read more

I purchased Pool Time Max Blue Chorinating Granules for my new in ground pool. I followed label instructions and it bleached my liner in two large areas. I called Home Depot they said call the manufacturer. I called and filed a formal claim for the $4,200 damage for coverage, along with photos, receipts, two bids to replace liner, etc. Manufacturer said it must have been my fault even though I followed their instructions. I contacted Home Depot again hoping they would contact the manufacturer of the product they sell and they have not bothered to return my calls. Since using the product, swimming contractors have told me that even though it says save for liner pools, they should not sell granules for liner pools as they've seen this damage before. I have spent $14,000 at Home Depot in the last three years because I trusted them and the products they sell. Until they can show they care about their customers, I will not patronize Home Depot again and will share this unfortunate experience with others. M Corey read more

I have had such wonderful service here the last few years, but this past week was over the top awesome. I had an instore only coupon for $10 off $100 and the item was ending it's sale price that day 5-31-17. I know it's not a lot, but I need to save every penny I can for any project. I chatted online with HomeDepot.com and found out that they could not help me order for store pickup and give me $10 off, but that I could place a phone order by calling the store to do it. Bodda Boom! The young lady was so awesome and took my phone order with nothing but enthusiasm and happy to help. She totally made my day and helped me save a total of $45! HD then pulled 35 pavers that weigh 40lbs/each for a store pickup, pulled it to my car, and loaded it for this single girl without hesitation or complaint. I tried to give them a tip or buy their lunch but the two young gentlemen denied it per store policy. I felt bad leaving them with nothing. It was just an awesome experience. I frequent their store for my bird nerd inspirations and plants. You should too. read more

The store in general is a bit inconsistent in terms of customer service, as it varies by department. For example, I haven't had vary many positive experiences with their garden center. Sometimes employees will walk away when asked for help loading pavers or retaining wall blocks by hand, and their nursery is poorly cared for with plants often dying yet still for sale at full price. The Lowe's next door has them beat by miles with their garden center. When you get inside, there are some squared away departments. Their Lumber department is good, as is their flooring department, but the rest of the departments are again inconsistent in quality. Some days their good, other days not so much. Perhaps if you're a recognized regular you get special treatment, but if you aren't than employees and managers might act indifferent towards you. I definitely prefer the Lowe's across the street, but I will go here whenever I need to. read more

I can't tell you how many times I've been to this Home Depot in the past week. It's a better choice than Lowe's, that's for sure. We've needed so much for our new house. They are making a killing off of us right now! For the most part, their staff is helpful and friendly. I've gone during the day so I've never had to wait for a register since there aren't many other people there. The layout is a little funky. The Home Depots we had in California had a more efficient setup, in my opinion. The garden department definitely needs some work. There is a much better selection at the HD in Collinsville than here. I was very disappointed to see that each time I went, their trees out front were fallen over on their sides and a lot of plants needed watering. Who wants to buy anything when they look like that?? With such limited choices for home supplies in the area, hopefully HD will step up in this department. I do have to give a big thumbs up to the lady in the windows and blinds department who cut our blinds and had them ready within an hour. That totally rocked! read more

My wife and I purchased carpet from this store in Edwardsville and the experience has been horrible, the billing is messed up, the installer damaged our home, and the Asst. Store Managers, Tim and Pete have bitter and rude attitudes that lack customer care or concern! It has been over a week since we initially contacted Tim with our concerns about the billing mess up. When I called today the customer service rep told me they have alot of new cashiers. We got a 5% discount for using our Home Depot Charge Card and this negated the 0% we were getting on our over $5,000 purchase. We were not told this would negate the 0% and then we are told that it is Citibank that offers the discount in their store. Maybe, but I don't go to Citibank, I went to Home Depot! I refinished my basement 2 yrs ago and the same store messed up the billing in the pro department and it took multiple trips to get it fixed. The Store Mgr. stepped up and took care of it. I think I just don't have time to deal with Home Depot in Edwardsville anymore. Additionally, we were promised an install date and then there were complications with fulfilling that, the installers damaged the banister and walls in my home and now we need light plaster work and painting done, we have spent over 18 hours with the installers in our home and we are not done yet. Terrible customer service. I was really disappointed as other Home Depot's I've been to in the past seem to pride themselves on their customer service. I needed help finding a part and asked for assistance at the service desk. I stood there for over 15 min wth no one even acknowledging my presence. It would have been understandable if they were busy but there were plenty of employees just standing around and the store wasn't busy at all. I finally ended up leaving without being helped. After reading the first few reviews after being here I am surprised it got 3 star reviews because of the company's in china that make the stuff u buy that are missing nuts or bolts. That has nothing to do with the people there I was greeted when I walked I had a employee there ask me what I needed help with I told him what I was looking for and he found it efficiently now I wasn't sure if it was a 100% what I needed so instead of him saying this is what we have!!! NAY S checked it out and found a phone number on the item I wanted and he called the company first hand for me and found out that it wasn't and saved me a headache of finding out the hard way when I got home then having to go back and return the item so he found me one that was and they had it!!!
