    Location of the Kids Workshop
    Steven C.

[[ Kids Workshop Review ]] Every 1st Saturday (or sometimes even more), Home Depot offers a Kids Workshop for free to build something which they list on their website. For October 2025 it was the Haunted Candy Box. It was our first time doing it so I wanted to give a detailed review and some things I noticed when I went. 1.) Workshop location is OUTSIDE of home depot on the right hand side. I attached a picture to show the location. 2.) Although you have to register on the website beforehand, the event is relatively chaotic and they do not check. I think they get a set amount of kits and they just hand it out until they run out. 3.) When we arrived at 9am, the event wasn't set-up and a bunch of parents with their kids were watching the setup. I don't think they finished until maybe around 9:15am (setting up tables, getting the materials, kits, etc.) 4.) No Aprons available which was a huge bummer. Not sure why the didn't have any. Maybe Home Depot does not ship these aprons in advance and it's whatever is left-over from previous events. 5.) The Tables themselves are pretty tall and I think 3-5 year olds may be able to work on them a bit easier. If your kid is on the smaller side or younger, they may not be able to reach the table. I've seen other parents bring their own miniature table so their kid can work on the craft. 6.) Some parents just showed up and took kits to work on it at home which is not a bad idea in case you don't want to do it there. Overall, I think it's not too bad for a free event but I wish they were more prepared for it. One employee was also very rude at the event we went to and seem annoyed we were asking questions like "Where is the apron?" or "Do you have anymore hammers or screwdrivers?". She would just answer "No" and that was it. Ironically the younger employees were nicer and went to get more tools for us which made her interaction even worse.

Shout out to Aidan! I needed a voltage tester and multi meter that were locked up. Nobody in the aisles, so I asked Aidan at the pro desk / cust service if he could get someone to open up and get what needed. He paged, and nobody shows up. A few minutes later Aidan sees me still standing there and asks what i need. He opens up the cage and then cashiers me. It wasnt his job, but he solved my peoblem. Employees like Aidan are what fixes your bad customer service reputation.

Very clean, workers are super friendly. I found a lot of houseplants for good prices. Accidentally bought a plant in the wrong pot so it was double it's price but it was a plant I was looking for so not too upset. I would visit this home depot again

This is my go to home depot to go to. The people here are so nice. Today I went to get keys made and Jim was so helpful with using the machine to make them. They have a great selection of designs for the keys at a great price. I also seen strawberry plants that I will be back for.

More locked up items. Trying to keep them safe from the thieves.

Decent Home Depot overall. It's really sad that they have to lock up so much. They have to lock up the cheap hammers!! When you find the item you want, you then have to go find someone and then wait for them to call someone over to unlock the cabinet. It's not really their fault because if people are busy then you have to wait. Hopefully society will improve so we don't have to keep everything locked up.

L O C A T I O N Harbor Freight Tools is located in a plaza on the corner of Blacow & Mowry Ave. The parking lot is shared by a Indian grocery store and other establishments. It was a crazy experience when we were parking so proceed with caution. I N S I D E Everything is labelled well and what I do is look up what we want online picking the store we want to go to and it will state what aisle to look and if they have inventory at that store. Take this with a grain of salt. What I found with this particular Harbor Freight was that many shelves and areas were empty. So again proceed with caution. But it was all quite organized. S E R V I C E We were in need of a 5/8 deep socket and a socket wrench as well as a normal wrench. Luckily Harbor Freight comes to the rescue as we're not needing anything super fancy, just something that will do the job without breaking the bank. Luckily they had what we needed at this particular Harbor Freight. There was someone who was walking up and down the aisles asking if people needed help. He pointed us in the right area. Checking out was a bit long though as there was only one person initially and they were doing a return that seemed to be having some issues. But eventually the line was being handled a second person as they saw the line was growing exponentially. He seemed to be chugging away through the line after we paid. Glad they were there to help but it would've been nice to have a third person helping out. O V E R A L L This particular Harbor Freight seems to be quite popular that their stock seems to be out of a lot of things. Lines got pretty long but it was just chance. I recommend trying out Harbor Freight for any tools you may need that are good enough and doesn't have to be expensive and just works.

I told him I was looking for a specific model of an item, and he said they could check surrounding stores for availability. Great. He then brought over another associate to help, but that associate said he needed the item number rather than the model name. The first associate repeatedly pointed to my phone and told me to look it up on the store's website myself. Aren't employees provided with handheld devices to look up products and inventory? If customers are expected to search for the information themselves, it would also help if the store had adequate cell reception. I couldn't get the website to load, and the associate acknowledged the poor reception and suggested I walk all the way toward the front of the store to get a signal. The second associate eventually walked away, and just as the first associate appeared to be leaving as well, he turned around and asked whether I have an air conditioner and whether I wanted to replace it. I said I have one but don't want to replace it. He then asked me why not, which I found unnecessarily intrusive. He followed that by asking whether I wanted to sign up for an AC maintenance service. I declined. I appreciate associates approaching customers and offering assistance, but there's a difference between being helpful and making a customer feel pressured and uncomfortable. I came in for help locating a kitchen item, not to be questioned about my air conditioner, why I don't want to replace it, or whether I want additional services. The interaction became uncomfortable enough that I was glad to leave the store.

If you need work-life balance, taking care of a plant in the office and seeing it grow is rewarding and takes your mind off work. We already knew exactly which one we wanted, so this should have been a simple purchase. It took four calls to the Garden Center and one employee physically walking over there to try to find someone to help us, all with no success. After waiting 40 minutes, my husband went to the customer service/returns desk for assistance. There were 4-5 employees standing there chatting, and not a single one acknowledged us during the entire time we waited. We were told someone needed to either bring the grill down from the rack or retrieve it from a pallet in the back. What was particularly frustrating was that there were several employees available yet they chose to send the woman to handle the task alone. This isn't about questioning her capability it's about common sense and teamwork. We then spoke with another employee who repeatedly tried to convince us to purchase the floor model that was already assembled. I'm sorry, but if I'm spending $700 on a grill, I want a brand-new product straight out of the box. The fact that my purchase seemed like an inconvenience to the employees doing the job they're paid to do is not acceptable. After nearly an hour of waiting with no resolution, we decided to leave. We drove to Lowe's instead and received outstanding customer service. Not only were the employees helpful and attentive, but they even offered us a complimentary gift. We were in and out within 25 minutes. Ironically, at Home Depot, one of the first things they asked for was our ID so they could sign us up for a credit card. How about helping customers complete the purchase they came in for before pushing credit card applications? Extremely disappointing experience. We won't be returning.
