I ordered a garage door opener from Home Depot which was delivered on time despite several emails saying it would be delayed. The installer did a great job on installation, however he used way too much WD40 on the moving parts (wheels, hinges, ETC) which resulted in over spray on the outside of the door and all over the garage floor. I did not notice the over spray until the next day. I have washed the door twice with detergent and got most of it off but will need to try dish soap next to get the last of it off. I shop here frequently. Sometimes I get five-star service, but too often an employee will just look at me with a blank stare. It is definitely not consistent. They need some kind of a mystery shopper program. Having shopped here and at their competitor down the street, I prefer Lowe's hands down. Lowe's allows dogs, here at Home Depot an employee rudely told me not to bring my dog back...and he was in a shoulder carrier that one could hardly tell contained a dog. I believe that it is easier to order on-line now with the limited shoppers belong allowed into the store due to COVID. With online, you have designated parking spots outside and they bring the goods out to you...that equals no impulse shopping! read more

I shop here all the time, as it is the go to store for all tools. My experience started with a return. It went by smooth and fast. I had my receipt from email which comes in handy. After I went to gardening and it was the hardest thing to find an employee to help me. Well I didn't find one and instead found some Ryobi fan I front of paint section. Picked one up as it didn't have a price and figured they can check it at cashier. As I read the product I noticed it said I will need to buy battery and charger separately. Again I walked @ looking for assistance as I couldn't find the battery. Found Manuel and he was beyond awesome, took the time to walk me to item and even got a ladder to get something that was up high. I went back to gardening and again I didn't find anyone, cashier was new so she can only guide me as much. I did noticed she used her phone to look for the item so I figured I give it a chance. Biggest help ever! If you go online, pick store you are at and type item on search it gives you exact isle and location. As she's ringing me I'm being told that the fan I found was ringing $150 although on internet page is showing $99. Keep in mind it does not say "online price" exclusive for online or anything along. Well they declined to give me the price they show as a their home page. Very disappointed and I called corporate only to tell me they can not do anything and should buy online. Well I went online and they were showing "out of stock". However while I was in store I can clearly see more than 20 fans. At this point it made me feel as home depot lies to sell at higher price in store. Also they state they do price matching but will not due their on store price match. Very disappointed. At the end I end up buying online and hoping it will deliver . It was @$117 still cheaper than $150 +tax. read more

I went to the home depot on 45 and west rd here in houston. I brought in a light bulb box to find the correct one. When I was checking out 2 employees said that I only Scanned 2 items instead of 3. Came here for what I thought would be a quick trip to get a copy of a house key made - wrong. Once I located the key cutting machine (or, at least, what I thought was the key cutting machine) there was no one around to help: one was out of order, the other had a screen up asking for a security passcode. After standing looking confused for a few minutes thinking someone would take pity on me and ask if I needed help, I go find someone who suggests I go to customer service to find someone. Good idea, so I do that and am then pointed to a different key cutting machine that was well-camouflaged into the mess of displays around it. Fortunately, once at the machine, the process was easy and required no assistance. But, they sure didn't make this thing easy to find. The checkout line is a different story - tons of people waiting in one large line to use either self-checkout or attended checkout. Waited about 10min to get through that. All in all, this place stresses me out. Hard to find what you need, no one around to help you, long lines, and an atrocious parking lot thanks to nearby Whataburger and Chick-Fil-A. read more

We had the absolute worst experience after purchasing a refrigerator from this location. No questions were asked about the delivery requirements when it was purchased and the delivery was set up. The delivery team was scheduled and initially presented for delivery 5 days after purchase. As soon as they saw the house they stated that we needed a three man team because our kitchen is on the second floor (like most of the houses in the area). We had to call and reschedule a delivery, stressing the need for a three man team. The delivery was subsequently scheduled for 5 days later. Again when the delivery team presented with two people and we had to reschedule. Following this we were told that they were coming on two days later and no one called, emailed or showed. I spoke with someone at Home Depot the day after the third botched delivery and was finally told that a three man team doesn't exist at this time and that we could have the refrigerator dropped off and have to hire someone else to get it upstairs and remove our old refrigerator. As a result I requested a refund and will never again purchase an appliance from Home Depot. Any store in this area of Houston should as a confirm the housing style and floor that the appliance will be located on as most of the houses are three story with the appliances on the second and third floors. read more

I purchased two gift cards for family members. I purchased them at Kroger, but the cards are produced by Home Depot. The cards had glue over the card # and over the PIN. We could not spend them, and despite having receipts, they would not refund the purchase, or even give a store credit for the amount. We also spoke to 8 employees (in different parts of the store) who all said they did not know where the MOD was, nor were any MOD's answering their phones. All the pro service customers park on the back at Home Depot. Don't go to the front it's normally a madhouse. I opened an account with them which goes through citibank. When I received my first bill it already had a $40 late fee on it. When I called citibank they said they had sent a previous bill and it wasn't there problem that I didn't get it. The balance on the account was just over $100. Awful experience. Waited around for a while to buy a washer and dryer. Told them very clearly we needed it brought up 2 flights of stairs, plus removal of our old unit. When the delivery people showed up they were totally clueless and didn't have enough people for the job. They told us to call Home Depot and request a larger team. When we finally got through to Home Depot they said they don't do that and we needed to hire someone else entirely to move the unit upstairs. Just tried to buy some pressure treated wood to replace some rotten boards on the deck. We were told they would not cut it for us because it damages their saw. They told us to use a "hand cutting station" on aisle 31, which was a loose cart with no brakes and no clamps. The saws are old fashioned hand saws. We gave it a go for one piece of wood and promptly ruined it. Because it's a hand saw. On a crappy cart. With no clamps. I've never reviewed a Home Depot before (because aren't they're all the same?), but I had a great experience with this store and am just blown away. My boyfriend ordered a Weber grill for me online and had it shipped to my house. We started assembling it and realized it was severely damaged - in a way that the damages must've occurred at the Weber factory. I'm talking broken cast iron grating. We packed it back up in the box but alas, it wouldn't fit in my car. We called the Brinkman store to see what they could do, and they said they would come pick up the grill for free and assemble our new grill for free when it got shipped to the store (they assemble on Tuesdays). A+. When we went to the store to pick up the grill, we asked them if they could help us deliver the assembled grill to our house. We expected a HELL NO, but to our surprise they said they'd do it for free! Just followed us in one of their truck rentals and helped us carry it into the house. Talking about internet pick up, they need to figure out where they want to have the line. Upon entering the store, immediately to your right hand side is the customer service counter. I went to a BIG SIGN WITH AN ARROW pointing to one of the cash registers saying "internet pick up". I, of course, waited where the arrow was pointing. After being ignored for several minutes by a couple of workers who obviously saw me, I finally flagged one of them down and told her that I wanted to do a pick up. She then pointed me to a different cash register and condescendingly told me that I was at the wrong register. Well, EXCUSE ME for waiting at where the arrow is telling me to go. And THANKS for not asking me if I needed help because obviously I was just standing for crap and giggles, right? I was being sarcastic if you couldn't tell. Terrible experience, no communication, waited over 6 months and still no order after paying a contractor to build out 6 rental properties to accommodate appliances in anticipation of their arrival after being emailed order was going to be delivered.
