I recently came into the home depot with my mom to get paint for a room we are redoing at her house. With so many choices we found ourselves overwhelmed with the variety of paint types and colors. Luckily for us the staff was very helpful! Bryan was the best! He took his time explaining the types of paint and quality of the paint to us. His knowledge of the products was very impressive. We also met Cisco who helped mix the paint to the perfect color and was very lovely. As we picked up our paint the supervisor asked us how we were doing and wanted to know how his department was preforming. I am happy to report that they are top notch! Long lines; not enough cashiers. I spent over $100,000 in the last 12 months at Home Improvement stores and lumber yards, and I am not a professional builder; I just built my own house. I typically spend around $20,000 a year on building and home improvement. Every time I go out to a store, I cringe if I have to end up at Home Depot. I just seem to go away feeling like I had a sub par experience. Employees just don't seem to care. read more

I must say I don't always feel like the service is poor in this or all Home Depots but today was an experience. I waited in garden for Over 30 minutes for one garden associate to help me the register, but she never came the line was a mile long in the garden department and when the cashier was finally free he told me she was the only one who could help me (I did not expect him to step away, was just hopeful he would call for backup) I then preceded to seek out a flatbed cart that I could use to start helping myself and even that was an exhausting process. Every cart in every aisle had some overstock of plants on it. Outside there were two more carts with excess plants on them as well. I located one cart that had several of the same plant and I stocked the shelf just so I could have a flatbed cart. (There were none inside either) phew! Finally ready to get what I need and still no one was available to answer my questions. I finally made a purchasing decision and got what I thought I needed and a young girl approached me and asked me if I needed help. I will say better late than never she was pleasant and even helped me load my vehicle I was super impressed by her. I really wish I could remember her name SHE deserves 5 stars. This was exhausting and unnecessary a 20 minute trip turned into over an hour. Silly. Please get your people some help. I live nearby and want to feel good about shopping with you. read more

The place is typically big and laid out like most other home depots. Know what to expect when you go and you won't be disappointed but if you want a lot of personal service stick to a local hardware store. read more

BAD Home Depot Carpet Experience Home Depot sent one of their people to measure my house for carpet, then they provided a quote based on those measurements, we agreed on a price and I payed it. The carpet didn't show up for another 7 weeks (which was several weeks behind their original quote). After they removed our old carpet they told us it was going to cost another $180 dollars to glue down some tacking strips. I had already paid for installation and I was not told their would be any additional fees. You can't change the price after you've already made and agreement. What if I didn't have a $180 dollars? Were you going to walk out leaving me with cement floors and old carpet pad, since you already removed my carpet? In this economy you can't quote people a price and then change. VERY disappointed with the way Home Depot handled this. I even called and gave them an opportunity to rectify the situation but they didn't. read more

Called to inquire about a grill and was on hold for a while, not the problem, when a lady finally answered the call, I told her I was calling to see if they have a certain product I was looking for... Her response..., "what?, I don't know? Hold on." Then she hung up on me! I called back, to try it again, a man answers, said, "ummm, hold on." Then hung up on me again! I'm not a very handy guy, so when I go someplace like Home Depot, I really need some guidance. On this trip, I was looking for a 24x24in plywood board and didn't know where to start. When I asked the guys in the lumber department, they knew right where to direct me, and they even cut the board to the size I needed. Well, I haven't been more disappointed with a company in my entire life. I dropped off a jackhammer to have the handle fixed and weeks later they couldn't find it. It was finally found and a service repair order was generated. Weeks go by and I haven't heard anything so I have my employee call in and they tell us they can't give us the number to the repair center. I go in and get this magical number and find out nothings been done but they have a $750 repair bill for me to approve. I told them I want to have two items fixed, I want to know what would be important to get done right away and what is just maintenance. Weeks go by and I still don't have a jackhammer nor do I have an update. I finally got a call and the girl that I spoke to said nothings been done and they're still waiting on my approval for the repairs. At this point I am extremely frustrated and I told her exactly what's happening what I want and she's not intelligent enough to make it happen so I told her to just repair everything on the work order and have a district manager or somebody important contact me. Guess what, nobody has contacted me. Go figure! Several weeks have gone by and I still don't have a call about my jackhammer. This is by far the worst customer service I've ever experienced. We purchased JeldWen sliding patio door in 2014 from Baseline and Priest location. A couple days ago the thumb lock lever on the door broke and fell off. At time of purchase their salesperson highly recommended the product and its excellent warranty with the old peace of mind story. So I called Home Depot this morning and was told they thought warranty was only one year and we would have to contact JeldWen ourselves. I called Jeld Wen and was given a complete runaround instead was told the reason the lock handle broke was the door is out of adjustment. I was totally amazed how the Jeld Wen warranty person was able to analyze our door all the way from Oregon and over the phone. Give me a break. Thank god we purchased ALL of the balance of new windows and remaining doors in our home from Lowe's. We just purchased all new appliances from Lowe's. Home Depot is like Walmart is to Target. You want crappy service or no service at all then shop Home Depot. You want better products and people who actually care about their customers then spend your money at Lowe's. I consider Home Depot as the last resort. read more

WHY I have company in town with long grass: Bought Toro "Guaranteed start" mower from Home Depot (Mistake one). after one season, stopped starting. (?) Took it to a mom and pop shop, they said its under warranty, so stuffed the thing BACK into the trunk of my Civic and drove to the tool rental place on AZ. Kaleb said "Oh yeah these torros suck, it's known for clogged carbs. needs a $15 carb clean. NOT warranty" I told him I had company coming in town in 8 days,and asked if he could get it out quick. he said, yes, a few days, may be up to a week.. I waited a week and called, got surfed back to the voice mail line 3 times before getting a human on phone. Human knew nothing about my mower and assured me it WASN'T yet being worked on. said to call Kaleb back after 2. Called back after 2. got surfed back to voice mail 5 times before getting operator on line. Kaleb wasn't working, just got screwed over by day guy who didn't wanna deal with me. Finally got operator, she got a 'head cashier' to walk over and answer phone. she knew nothing and could not find my order WITH a name, and invoice number. said ' I don't normally work over here.' no shit. She Then spent 10 minutes with a manager standing next to her relaying everything I said to the manager and everything the manager said to me. long story short, there were STILL 50 machines ahead of me after 7 days and they couldn't move it up. Manager assured me that Kaleb would be 'talked to'. FLAT OUT LIED TO ME ABOUT TURN AROUND TIME what a complete d-bag thing to do. THEN ran me through a grinder of voice menus, people in tool rental who won't answer phone, and head cashiers and managers who cant find customers even with a last name and invoice number. so now I get to GO GET my lawnmower and take it back to the mom and pop shop and explain to my guests that my lawn looks like hell because HOME DEPOT is to CUSTOMER SERVICE as NICKELBACK is to ROCK MUSIC. read more

I've been to this Home Depot countless times. This time when I was looking for tools I was solicited being asking if I knew about some homeowners something or other & had to tell this guy to leave me alone. Upon checkout with my $3000 worth of tools I once again was approached asking if I've had my AC checked this year. I left my cart and walked out at that point without my tools. I was on the fence about buying these tools because they weren't exactly what I was looking for & I have 10 other things going on I don't need to be bombarded by sales people. I can't suppose a company who is willing to do this to their customers so I won't be shopping here anymore. Gorilla sales tactics like this truly force people who feel uncomfortable to shop shop competitors online like I will from now on. I really like Home Depot but I don't like being approached to buy things at a store while I'm already there to spend money on items they are selling. You got me in there just to bug me about my ac? Went to buy an over- the-range Whirlpool microwave. Was told I'd have to pay $60 to ship it to the store bc you didn't have it in stock and my purchase was under $396. Was told we had to pay the $60 for shipping even if we have it shipped to your store (not even to have it delivered to my house). Forget that. Went online to Lowe's and shipped it to Lowe's Gilbert for free. Paid $1.00 less. Obnoxious. I'm done with Home Depot. What the heck kind of deal is that?! read more

Extremely disappointed in the staff that is employed at this Home Depot. I had an extremely uncomfortable experience as I was walking down the aisles when I saw and heard an employee, a middle aged white woman with short dirty blonde hair and bangs, and a group of her coworkers unashamedly mocking an Asian customer behind their back in an "Asian" accent and then proceeding to comment, "This is America!" Because the customer couldn't speak English fluently and this despicable employee couldn't understand him/her and thought it would funny to make fun of that. That part really just threw me over the edge. Can't believe the level of unprofessionalism and indecency that was exhibited today. Racism should never be condoned under any circumstances but especially not in a workplace in front of customers. I will never be caught again at this Home Depot. read more

Any Home Depot is generally the same regardless of where it is, my go to place when working on a home improvement project. They seem to have the best prices of any local hardware stores and pretty solid warranties on larger products. A year or so ago I would say this location was pretty reliable on pricing and we could usually find someone to help us when taking on a home project we knew absolutely nothing about. Maybe we just don't have that wide eyed look of horror of first time home buyers like we did months ago so we don't elicit the same pity help. Or maybe Home Depot is getting more ridiculously short staffed every day. The last few times we gone to this location we have walked around aimlessly for twenty minutes trying to find someone to help us get something off a shelf or check stock availability. When we did find one frazzled lady who was talking with people in the tile section, there were 3 other people hovering around her waiting to ask her something. We gave up and left empty handed. The place was a ghost town on a Saturday morning, guess we found out why. If I didn't have to schlep it to Val Vista for the next closest location, I would just give up on this one altogether. Customer service is going downhill fast but I hope they get their act together soon. read more

OMG our two tresses died and they found one on our credit although we purchased both on our credit cards, then they won't even give us credit for one of the tresses and we just purchased the tresses two months ago! Pay attention before buying any appliance in Home Depot, buy all the appliances for my kitchen in addition to washer and dryer has been a total nightmare and not by Home Depot the people who attended me have been very kind in all the opportunities I have needed they. What happened then? Home Depot uses a company for delivery and installation of appliances called Barlows this company is a nightmare, employees mistreat the boxes, look for reasons not to install the appliances, the employees are in pairs, the three times they came and were different people each time They were very rude, they did not bring the necessary for the installation. They needed to come three times to install a dishwasher I could go on and on but please look for Barlows Delivery reviews before buying anything at Home Depot. read more

I've shopped here for years. The staff is always extremely helpful and know about the department they are in. I only had one problem which was not even their fault. The door I bought was not made properly and would not work because of the frame being manufactured at a 90 degree angle. However, when I called them to get help they came out that day with a new one so I would not have to go to bed that night with out a door. I was in Mesa Home depot 2 days ago, looking for light beige paint, a standard color for trim on my door. I asked the female employee if she would look at the sample strips and match this, i brought in my own sample- She refused, saying it would not match- she would not even LOOK at their many samples. I then went to another store and they said it was no problem, matched it, and mixed it up in no time. This employee was lazy and not servicing the customer- if i did my job this way, I would be fired!! Forget Home Depot!! read more

I bought a honda lawn mower on 02/09/12 used it about 6 or 7 times and it stopped working, so I took it back on 07/10/12 being its under warranty, well a month latter I still dont have it back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Home Depot Collusion with Orangutan previously American Home Maintenance. I bought a $5000 Air Conditioner from this Home Depot. Installer said they found and welded a pin hole leak. I told them 3 times to take it off my roof the day of installation. They said this happens all the time but we will extend your warranty to 3 years to shut me up. I thought I over reacted possibly. But next year the system ran all summer and it seemed to get hotter until the end of summer it was blowing hot air. Leaked my Freon out and called them to fix it which they did. Then it happens again after the 3rd year and they say they have to sell me a warranty. I said you never fixed it in the first place take it off my roof now. They refused and wrote in their system that it was me refusing service. I got another company to weld the AC and it lasted 4 years after AHM/Orangutan worked on it. I thought I was inn the clear. Well the pipe exploded from all the welding. So I paid $1000 to replace the Pipe and the Freon with this other company. It lasted all summer but then the Compressor blew up. Since the AC was constantly running low on Freon the Compressor heats up and lowers the lifespan. I was under warranty so I called Home Depot and got a 3 month run around from Nash and Jerome ASM, only to be required to talk to Orangutan who said I refused service and went with someone else so they are not responsible anymore. I eventually escalated to Atlanta Headquarters for Home Depot since they do not give out District Manager names. I was told District Manager 26 was my reference. What a joke! I was referred to Ray at 1-800-654-0688 extension 76807 and seemed like he would be able to help. After a week of waiting and being put off Ray finally called me back and said they can't help me since Orangutan only shows service was performed not Welding. I said so how did my air go from warm to cool? Ray said, I can't help you sir and hangs up. I told him all the details and said why would I call to make something up and there is only one weld spot on the unit. So it had to be welded there 2 times by AHM/Orangutan since that is all I ever called for and never had preventative maintenance calls. I didn't need to since they were there every year I had it anyways. Well I come to find out AHM changed their name to Orangutan since they had to file bankruptcy. I bet their practices caught up with them. Now it seems like Home Depot is Collluding with Orangutan A guy named Ruben at Orangutan must have purged my history or changed it to look like they just showed up to say hi. This was the reasoning Home Depot gave me for not being able to fix the AC. The references matched the dates I gave too just no info about the work done. Even though I am calling and telling them what was done. Home Depot would not deal with Trane on my behalf or accept any amicable remedy since I said I would be willing to upgrade to a new model and pay for installation again. I tried everything in my power to get rectification. The only thing that stops a Trane is a Pin Hole leak and a bunch of Monkeys! WARNING!!! DO NOT DEAL WITH HOME DEPOT'S CONTRACTORS OR BUY THEIR PRODUCTS! read more

Me being not so home repair savy, they are always able to lend a helping hand and assist me in getting the proper materials. There are always many floor associates there to ask questions to! Have you ever tried to find a home depot associate to help you? If you have, you know how bad these stores are at customer service. Imagine that, but 100 times more frustrating when dealing this this company over the phone. They do not install the products they sell and deliver, this is something they hide from you until their bad smelling delivery people show up with your products and then they say: "by the way, we don't install this." If Home Depot were upfront about this, there is little chance anyone would purchase from them which is why I imagine they hide this from the customer. Best to go somewhere else. read more

Met with a kitchen designer to remodel our home. Being advised from her we spent the money to have it professionally measured. There vendor had not turned over the measurements 10 days later until we applied strong pressure to management, and the drawing was so small the designer had a very difficult time reading the measurements. The kitchen was desinged by the designer and ordered. We received broken cabinets which had to be reordered and was going to be an additional 3 weeks!!!! What am I supposed to do with a house full of boxes I can't install after a vendor delivers broken items???? Then to top it off the counter top came an inch and a half short based on the designers measurements, not mine. But there reply was we are not doing the install and you signed off on the paper work. They wanted to resell me another countertop. Just curious why I paid a vendor to professionally measure and a kitchen designer to design??? With my home remodel I have spent over 10k there figured they could offer a little help. It cool they made a buck today but lost the rest of my business. My husband recently became a double amputee. He finally came home from the skilled nursing facility last week and as I ran around trying to figure out how I was going to get him into our home while bypassing 3 stairs that were there my hands were tied. So on Saturday him and I set up determined to find an ramp of some sort to help him. My idea was let's go to Lowes and see if they can help us. Reluctantly my husband agreed, because he wanted to go to Home Depot first. We went into Lowes and nobody helped us. Finally an employee came over and we told him what we were needing and trying to do. He took us over to the ATV ramps and told us that is all they had and sorry we can't help you. I could feel my stress and frustration kick in. We left and went to the Home Depot in Mesa on Country Club and US 60. My husband likes this store. He says everyone is always helpful. Sure enough we walked in and employee Stephanie greeted us and asked how she can help us. We told her our story and immediately began searching online. We found some items but nothing that could be here the next day. So she said hold on let me call Big Mike and Dario, employees, they can help us. They came and discussed and told us they can make us a ramp. I was so excited and asked the famous question how much will it cost? Together they said, "Don't worry about it the supplies, labor, cost will all be donated by Home Depot." I nearly fell over. After asking them over and over were they sure it sunked in that they were serious. The one thing that meant so much to us that they said was "we have to take care of our own people in our community." At this point my husband and I were in tears and couldn't be happier. As a wife I went from being so worried about how to get my husband inside our home to being stress free. The next day they came and got measurements and said we will be back on Wednesday. Today is Wednesday and they showed up ready to build the ramp. We are beyond grateful and do not know how to thank you enough. It has been a rough road for my husband being sick. This proves to show us that there are stll good people in our crazy world of us. Home Depot has our business forever and our extended families and friends as well. This review is towards windows at Home Depot. The windows they offer seem to be a good quality, but their customer service and communication is terrible unless you are ok w them taking your money before they finish the job and 6 months later windows are installed but won't answer/return our calls about fixing the missing tile they removed from our shower in February. We ordered our windows through Pedro Delgado December 14 and were to be installed January 26th. the morning of installation we got a call from the installers that our windows were the wrong color and a rush order would be done and we would be compensated for the inconvenience which never happened. On feb 17th they came and installed our windows but two of the 9 windows were wrong and they had removed tile from our shower which they said they would fix next time they came out to install the wrong windows. they also charged my Home Depot credit card for the full amount after I was told we wouldn't be charged until the project was complete, Called about that and nothing was done. After 7 weeks of waiting and calling over and over they finally came out to fix the two windows on April 11th except the bathroom window was still incorrect and their supervisor Nick McDonald knew nothing about replacing our missing tile. On May 11th they finally got the bathroom window correct except the exterior and interior finishing is still not complete. Again been trying to reach out about that and no one is returning our calls or emails. read more
