I don't know what's going on with the hiring process at this store but it needs to be looked at. I was asking to come in for a interview was told the position I was applying for did not suit me and was offered to work in a nothing department. 2 days later was called and said that the position that I was offered was not suitable for me and I would be better at a cashier position and had to go and apply online line for that.lol. And was told the 2 position I was offered was given to someone else and it's nothing they can do to go and refresh my application. I just don't understand what that was all about. The person who very rude and was talking to me very unprofessional and was not concerned about me getting a job or not. I really would like to speak to someone about the issue and it's very upset. Just bought and installed 3 ceiling fans one where the led light globe would not stay locked in and fell out and shattered after seemingly locked in place. This store has some of the rudest cashiers. I walked up to a "Self Checkout". There was no sign indicating anything was wrong. One of several cashiers standing against the wall , in a loud voice yelled "That one's down!" So I walked one row over to a stand where a cashier was checking out a customer. I stood there several minutes as the cashier checked the guy out. He took his bag and proceeded to leave and I stepped up because I was next in line. She said "I'm closed now, go over there" pointing to two rows in the opposite direction. In the mean time I watched the cashiers against the wall competing to be the first to loudly say to several other customers, "That one's down!" It was like a game to see who could tell the next customer that a particular machine was down. Yet no one took the initiative to put a sign on the machine that it was down. Not one time does the checkout staff try and assist customers with checking out. It seems like they're being paid to stand there and yell "That one's down!" The only good thing about this Home Depot's check out process is "THE MACHINES." They tell you "Thank You." The staff treats you like you're an inconvenience, not recognizing that your purchase indirectly funds their wages/salaries. read more

I'll be going to Lowe's from now on. Spent $3K on appliances, they showed up with a microwave that had multiple dents in it and the the installers admitted that they gave the cord for my stove to a previous customer who did not pay for it, but I did. They have to bring a cord out on Tuesday, so I have no means of cooking food until then. No clue as to when they may get the non-dented microwave to me. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! Stop by this store to make a payment. I specifically asked the first cashier I encountered if my payment could be taken at any register (since the customer service desk looked like a cluster)!! Cashier replied YES!! Since she was available, she proceeded to take my payment. Once again, specifically asked her to please run my form of payment as a credit card, as I did not recall my pin number. After several failed attempts, she called for assistance, no one ever showed up to assist!!! After a few other attempts, she called her manager, who instructed her to send me to the customer service desk. Walked all the way to the other side of the store and stood in what looked like the waiting line. Stood there while being ignored by a couple of employees, who actually made eye contact, but did not bother to tell me that I was standing in the wrong place. I extremely dislike HOME DEPOT!!!! It is very unfortunate that this chain has turned into a such a mediocre brand. Their employees are rude and not approachable at all!!! When I shop at the store closes to me (Missoula, Montana), most employees go out of their way not to make eye contact, avoiding at all costs to help out the customers. My experience here has been pretty limited to the garden section, but for a fella who's just getting to know the gardening of the fine state of AZ, it seems to have everything you would need. My big focus has been fighting the early weeds in the yard, so I popped in for a little weed killer and a pump sprayer. Sure enough, there's a variety of everything you would need. Broadleaf killers, total vegetation TNT, and sprayers in lots of different sizes. Other than that, this is your standard Home Depot. Lots of stuff for home electrical, plumbing, paint and more. Very disappointed in the customer service I received at this store. I believe the associate's name was Paul. He was an older man with short white hair. When I asked for help with finding the proper fastener for the task I had he acted like he didn't want to help and then once I urged him to he dismissed the task I was trying to do completely. He offered no alternative solutions and basically acted like I was an idiot for asking in the first place. He delivered! We were immediately educated on the difference between the shelves and which were most feasible. Honestly, I was caught it a serious time sensitive matter on getting materials on a roof job quick. Junior sense my frustration with trying to find one of my own employees to deliver the material. He stepped up and basically said "I'll take care of it. Everything will be there in an hour." An it was! I've never had someone help me out so quickly and efficiently from a corporate type store before. I came to home depot to find a specific item (pad lock with combination) I had no idea where anything was. I bought the wrong item. I was running short on time. I decided to go back once I noticed the item I have was not going to work in my favor. I waited maybe 30 seconds before a very friendly and helpful employee came to my rescue. She processed my return really fast. I told her what item I was really looking for and she knew exactly what I needed based on my description and knew where it was. She walked me to the exact location of the item and made sure I had found what I needed. I was surprised and shocked by this Home Depot - I actually could find employees. Not only could I FIND them, they actually knew what they were talking about! I hate Home Depot, especially back in California - they are such awful places. At the one in Milpitas, CA, my mother, who hates jokes about religion actually got a good laugh (when we had been waiting in line for 20 minutes because there was only ONE cashier) when I said, "You're right mommy. Hell is real." Since then, I've always associated Home Depot with hell. This Home Depot? Not so hellish. We found workers here and there, some even answered hubby's questions adequately enough, but eh...well, you know how it is. I looked at sinks and bath shower replacements - they all seemed so...I don't know...substandard? Everything was this cheap acrylic junk. I wouldn't want another acrylic sink because we have one now and I hate it. Absolutely hate it - I put scorch marks in it after putting a hot pan in the sink after use...I had done that before in our house in Vegas and we had an awesome stainless steel sink. Our house in California has a heavy duty ceramic sink, so oops...anyway, not used to nor do I like acrylic anything - not even on my nails! ;) We have some lighting issues in the house and the guy who helped us was pretty knowledgeable. He was able to guide us through some of our toughest questions and didn't make us feel like total home improvement noobs, either. If I had to choose between here and Lowe's, Lowe's wins - hands down. But this place really is much better than other Home Depots I've been in. read more

Okay....going to be honest here. I TRULY hate going into Home Depot stores. Can't stand 'em. I'm always wandering around aimlessly looking for something I can never find. I always need like one small bolt or something when I go there and it's always like trying to find a needle in a haystack or something for me. And you would think the employees in the orange aprons would be easy to find....but I can never find anyone for help. Honestly....can't stand the whole Home Depot experience. Was driving around Mesa and I was actually trying to find a Lowe's. I needed some things for the house and haven't had much luck finding what I needed at other stores and someone suggested I try Home Depot. My initial reaction was pretty much, "Ugh.....really? Sigh....." So, I thought I knew where a Lowe's was but was mistaken. So, I figured I'd head back home and if I saw a Lowe's I'd stop. As luck would have it I saw this Home Depot instead. I decided to be brave and buckle up and give it a shot. I pulled into the parking lot just knowing this was going to end in disaster like all my other Home Depot excursions. Walked in the doors and was immediately greeted with a warm hello and a "How are you doing tonight?" Um...wow....a Home Depot employee....who is friendly...and visible. Since nature was calling....ahem.....I had to make a beeline for the restroom. Saw the sign right away....and made my way to the back of the store. On my way back TWO (!!!!!!!!!!!!!) other employees said 'hi' and asked if I needed help. Am I dreaming? What's going on? Friendly, ready to help Home Depot employees.....assisting me? Huh? On the way to the restroom I walked right past what I needed. Honest. Came out of the CLEAN restroom and went to where the item I was looking for was displayed. One of the employees who said "hi" to me came up and asked if I needed help.....AGAIN!!!!!!!! She answered the questions that I had and then asked if I needed anything else. I took a shot in the dark and asked her about something else I needed. She politely escorted me to the aisle I needed and showed me the options they had available. Don't know if this was a fluke or what. (Maybe I should have stopped and bought a lottery ticket after.) But I have to admit this was the BEST Home Depot experience I've ever had. I admit the store is not convenient to my house at all but if I EVER need to visit a Home Depot again I would likely consider driving out to this store. Don't know if I really would....but I would consider it. If I'm ever in Mesa and need something from a home improvement store I would definitely stop in again though. So, a big THANK YOU to this Home Depot and their friendly, helpful staff for turning what I thought would be another horrifying Home Depot excursion into a delightful experience. read more

Update. Original purchase date was 1/11with delivery date on 1/18. 1/18 item arrives damaged. Item reordered and scheduled for delivery 1/25. 1/25 logistics team does not call about delivery time. I call them. They cannot find the order. Eventually they say the appliance did not make it onto the truck so it's going to be delivered on on 2/1. On 2/1 delivery team says they are on their way to pick up a dryer. I ask them if they are delivering one too. They say, "No, only have paper work for pick up". They say they do not have my dryer in their warehouse. The manager said he even went to the floor to look himself. He said they will call me when they receive it but cannot give me an ETA. Later that day after several phone calls and hours of being placed on hold they tell me the dryer is there and will be delivered on 2/8. I tell them that is unacceptable and they tell me the best they can do is deliver on 2/7. 2/7 dryer shows up. Delivery drivers unpack it and it has the identical damage as the first one that was delivered. I do not accept the damaged dryer. Home Depot cannot tell me when I will get my dryer scheduled for delivery until the damaged one is returned to the warehouse. FML. read more

I just had my kitchen counter replaced at Home Depot, and I just want to say that everyone who worked with me from the Home Depot at Country Club and Baseline really did a great job! Neal, in the Kitchen Design department, went above and beyond to help me choose a kitchen counter top that I would like and even helped me decide on the best sink, faucet and garbage disposal to meet my needs. Neal met with me several times and even offered suggestions of other items I might need at the time of installation. When Home Depot's contractors installed the counter tops, the back splash was an inch lower than my previous one, resulting in an inch strip of different colored paint all the way across my wall just above the back splash. I was so disappointed, but when I talked to Neal about it, he told me he would talk to his supervisor, Fausto, about it. Soon, Fausto called and came out to look at the wall. When he saw what I had explained, he said that he would see what he could do, and called me the next day to say that Home Depot would do the touch up painting, free of charge, to rectify the problem. Junior, a painter from Home Depot, just left my house after painting the strip and leaving me with the left over paint. He said he didn't accept tips and just suggested that I return to Home Depot the next time I needed work done. The whole process took a bit longer than I would have liked, but all in all, I'm so happy with the work and all the competent, caring,people of integrity who helped me beautify my kitchen...and just in time for company coming this weekend! DO NOT USE THIS DELIVERY SERVICE! Home Depot is fine but the fact that they contract with Barlow Delivery gives me pause on ever using them. have no idea why Home Depot still contracts through them. They are rude, unhelpful, and completely unprofessional. We had a washer/dryer set that was supposed to be delivered. The day before they call to say they can't deliver because the address wasn't fully correct. I try to get Home Depot involved so I can get this delivery. The women who called me said "due to fraud we can't deliver this. Cancel the order and re-do with Home Depot." Firstly, why are you saying that I'm committing fraud? Secondly, I have literally all the information you could possibly need to confirm I am who I say I am. No go. This "delivery company" (and that's a proper use of quotation marks) wouldn't even listen to Home Depot. This company should be ashamed of itself, it's customer service, and should go out of business. Worst experience. read more

So, as a remodeler I have spent tens of thousands of dollars at Home Depot, this one in particular has received a great deal of my business as I have remodeled a few homes in the immediate area. Most of my colleagues in the remodeling biz stay away from HD or Lowes entirely but I use HD regularly. I went yesterday out of complete necessity (I won't bore y'all with details but it had to be done) and they had fake social distancing protocol "in place". I say fake because the execution was, at the very best LAZY. They had one entrance and at the entrance they had an employee controlling how many people came in at a time in a ridiculously half assed manner, she was not even wearing a mask. Basically she had a fairly large group of people bottlenecked at the door which is the exact opposite of what we should be doing now. Once inside it got no better....ONLY ONE employee was wearing a mask. ONLY ONE! It is bad enough the customers are acting idiotic and ignoring protocols which I don't hold HD responsible for. But their own employees? I have been a loyal customer who brings a significant amount of business through the doors and I must say I am so disappointed in HD and their lack of respect for our safety. This week was reported to be the worst week worldwide for covid19 infections but you all are acting like it's over. I will be taking my business elsewhere since it is obvious the leadership at this Home Depot is lacking competence and respect for their employees and customers. read more

I recently purchased plumbing materials ( that the plumbing expert recommended ) and the parts were wrong. I tried to return without receipt. They denied my return. ( paid cash ) Yes I am aware of the policies of returns. As I have had to return items before. But normally they do a store credit. Which I was fine with to re purchase new parts. Upon talking to manager I wad told I could return items and purchase new one's. I did so and the corporate denied my claim. So I called and spoke with a lady or girl named Lindsey. Last night, my cousin and I who, together own a small home repair business, went to return and wheelbarrow and pitch fork we had purchased the day prior along with some extra plumbing supplies we bought in case we needed it. We did not need the plumbing supplies, so we returned those and received no hassle. However, the wheelbarrow and pitchfork...that's a different story. First off, when my cousin originally purchased the items he was approached by an associate who asked if he could be of assistance. My cousin, being always curious, just asked the employees opinion on such items and whether or not they would assist us in moving some dirt and debris around after removing a small koi pond. The employee then told him that the pitchfork was a "shovel/pitchfork hybrid" and would be good for loosening up tough soil, and the wheelbarrow could carry the load of dirt and small rock and mortar. For lack of a better term, the guy was full of shit. The second we stuck this pitchfork in to the dirt, we felt the wooden handle begin to shift and bend inside the housing. This "hybrid" was a piece of junk. The wheel guard of the wheelbarrow was so flimsy that every time we dumped a load, it bent and wedged itself into the tire, making it impossible to move. So after a few loads we got tired of adjusting it and tried to tighten the bolts which only put pressure on the axle and made the thing hard to roll around. So, we finished the job and decided to return the stuff because we did not want to have to deal with these problems on the next job...this is time and money we are losing. Now, believe it or not, the lesser quality of the products are not what we are upset about. I mean...you buy a $50 wheelbarrow, you get a $50 wheelbarrow, you know what I mean? My complaint is with Nanette, or "Nan" as her apron stated. The young lady at the returns counter was gracious and sweet (don't remember her name). She followed what I'm sure is standard protocol and called this Nan lady over to inspect the items before accepting the return. Instead of Nan apologizing for the bad experience, she attempted to throw subtle insults at us like we don't know what were doing. When we told her about the pitchfork, her response was "You weren't using it for hay." Well...no shit, Shirley. Did you come to that conclusion all on your own? When your employee says "it will work perfect," we have a little faith in your ability to hire competent employees. And her response to my cousin when he said "I guess I should have bought another one" in regards to the wheelbarrow was "You should have spent more money." Are you serious!? I mean, that's pretty poor customer service. You don't call your customers cheap, even in jest or agreement. You apologize for the lousy experience and shut up. So, all in all, my complaint is with this ladies mouth. We're sitting here telling you "Ya know, we bought the wrong stuff. We should have spent a little more." I mean...I think that's a pretty humble approach when returning items that are worthless. And the response we got was "Yup, sure did, don't be cheap." It's a combination of poor salesmanship and lesser customer service. We were ready to walk ourselves over and purchase the better wheelbarrow so we could finish the job this week, but we'll try Harbor Freight. At least there, they tell you that their products are cheap pieces of shit and don't talk out of the side of their necks when you return it. read more

After a long day organizing our building remodel I hit Home Depot at 9pm to try and pick out paint colors. Omg! We were a mess. 10 plus different colors...couldn't make up our minds and a line behind us. Poor Clyde was trying so hard to help us, but we were just a mess. He was so kind and patient. I felt horrible for how frustrating we must have been, but never once did he huff or puff or roll his eyes. He just kept trying to help with a true smile. 5 stars for Clyde! As we waited for our paint to mix we attempted to do more shopping, with less then a half hour before closing. As we raced along with our heads cut off, ED H entered into our line of fire! As We stood in the middle of the aisle pondering over our ability to install snap together floor ourselves, Ed comes out of know where with all the answers to questions we didn't even knew we had. He explained what we needed, how to do it, gave us tips, and repeated it all as we took notes. 10 mins later our cart was loaded and off we went. We can't wait to start this project. This order was supposed to be curbside pickup. It even shows that in the emails and texts. I followed the instructions and notified through the app that I was on my way, then upon arrival I clicked I was here and entered the space number. after 20 min I replied again only from the text link this time and filled out all the info including space number and phone number. After 15 more min I called the "customer service" number and it rang for several min then went to music on hold with lots of commercials telling me how good their service is. I waited on hold for several min and then went into the store and got in line. There were 2 lanes open and I still had my call open on my phone on hold. When it started ringing the lane one phone started ringing and the cashier hit the reject button and it went back to hold. After a few more min cashier 2 motioned me over and I explained that I had been waiting for over 30 min now in curbside and he rolled his eyes and said, well we are short handed right now and not doing curbside. Too bad no one told the customers. The management is not doing their job here for sure. It's 103 outside here in AZ and with gas prices this high I have to sit and run the car waiting for someone that isn't coming out. The Target store 2 miles from this store will have your order out in 3 min with no issues and I use them once a week. Home Depot needs to study their system and learn how to make happy customers. Lowes from now on for me! Closing my HD card and getting a Lowes card. This isn't my first bad experience here but my last. read more
