Rafael provided one of the most exceptional customer service experiences I've ever had at Home Depot. While I was in the store trying to find firewood with a broken toe, no less..I was directed outside by a manager who was leading an employee meeting... I could barely walk and couldn't locate the wood on my own. Rafael noticed me struggling during his employee meeting and immediately stepped in to help. He grabbed my cart, walked all the way to the back to get the firewood for me, and made the entire process effortless. But he didn't stop there- he also helped me find a great speaker to purchase, assisted me through checkout, and personally walked everything out to my car and loaded it for me. What stood out most was his initiative, kindness, and genuine care. He saw someone who needed help and chose to go above and beyond without being asked twice. Today I picked up a online order and was helped by Lisa at store pick up. She went out of her way to help me with a very large and heavy order and assist loading it into my truck. After getting home, I realized I weigh over ordered and needed to return most of my order. This store is a joke. I needed one sheet of plastic cut in half. Apparently only 1 person in the store was authorized to do that. They kept paging him. He never came to the front. Then they called the supervisor, who also never came to the front. So I stood around for about 25 minutes while about six employees were sitting at the cash register in front of me. And when I say sitting, I mean, literally sitting in a chair. Does anybody know the meaning of customer service? Such a disappointment. I guess it's time to start going to Lowe's. read more

I usually don't need to ask an employee for anything when I go here, so past experiences have been fine. Today I needed some wood cut. There was a customer in front of me who had been waiting for someone to do cutting also. Said he had been there about 15 minutes when I arrived, then he left again to go find someone. When an employee did arrive to do the cutting, they were just being unhelpful in any way. Customer had a long ~12 foot piece he was trying to load on the cutting table and the employee offered no assistance, so I helped him load it myself. When that customer did have a question, the employee responses were "I don't know man" "it's wood what do you expect" anything to not answer a question. The customer left to grab a cart, and the employee started talking to another one, and was like "man! what a f-ing idiot!" right in front of me, not hiding it at all. I wonder what he said about me when I left, was shocked how out of line that was when you are customer facing and there to help. On the plus side, the cashier assist at the self checkout was super kind and polite when I needed to scan some small items without barcodes. There are closer yet smaller hardware stores next to me, so likely not coming back here unless I have to. read more

The paint line was long and the people waiting were hot and irritable and unfortunately were being a little difficult and impatient with Josh. He not only kept his cool and patience but somehow managed to quickly get through the line and have everyone leave happy. I've been coming to this Capitol Expressway Home Depot for seven (7) years and I have zero hesitance to leave it 5 stars. Is it perfect? No. Is there always someone to help you in your aisle? If you're lucky. Was I sucker-punched in 2018 by a random lunatic horsing around on a Home Depot disability scooter? Yes. Just the other day, on 06/30/22, I was startled to hear a heavy-set behemoth of a man walking down the toilet aisle screaming about how lumber was racist. Thankfully no one engaged the demoniac and he made his way out the doors and was never seen again. All of us in the store collected ourselves and I continued shopping for a toilet plunger. Let me give you some reasons why you should visit. PRICING But if you have an Amazon Prime account, you will quickly find out Home Depot has better prices. Home Depot somehow stays ahead of the online competitor. I've also found Home Depot beats Lowes in almost every category. BONUS INFO The return policy is painless and generous. It's a seamless process. There are plentiful items in stock. The people at self-checkout are a joy to interact with and always helpful. Sometimes there's a greeter at the end of the self-checkout who says goodbye to customers and they always leave me with a great mood. FOOD There's an hidden gem of a food stop as you exit self-checkout called "Capitan Deli". Everything there is made with love and consistently impresses me and my family. I have no qualms bringing food from "Home Depot" since my family loves the tacos, burritos, nacho fries, burgers, hot dogs, tortas, etc. Everything at Capitan Deli is good. If you're smart, place your order and then start shopping so you don't have to wait in line ;) CONCLUSION So yes, I will continue to come here, AND bring my kids. Worst case scenario, if there's another escaped psycho patient loose in the building we can always shelter in place inside one of the many marble-top bathroom vanities... preferably one with soft-close doors. read more

Had to get a BUNCH of supplies for my condo. New vanity, faucets, paint, metal gate door, patio light, lock sets and other little supplies for repairs. I found everything here in no time. Asked the associates and they were all helpful in guiding me to the right aisle and answering questions, and the store is huge and filled with quite literally everything under the sun! I received poor customer service from this Home Depot location. First they sent the wrong barbecue grill on May 16th. I ordered a 3 burner and they sent a 2 burner. The correct grill was delivered on May 19th, thankfully. Since I don't have a truck, I cannot return the wrong grill on my own, so I needed Home Depot to do it. After long time waiting for this store to pick up the phone, that said they will pick up on May 22nd. May 22nd, they sent a flatbed truck to pick up a 2 burner grill. The driver was upset because this was the wrong truck to pick this up. He said he talked to someone at the store and they will send the correct truck to pick up later today. Nobody ever came. After many attempts to get someone to answer the phone, when they finally did, they said it was rescheduled to be picked up on May 25th. May 25th, I called at 4:30pm checking to see if someone was still picking this wrong grill up. After a long time, someone finally picked up and they said yes. Since the pick up window is 6am to 8pm, I did not go to my kids recital because I wanted to make sure they picked this up. THEY NEVER CAME!! I called back and again, it took a long time for someone to answer. When they did, I got some clueless kid and he said that pick up was never scheduled!! I was furious. In the background I can see heat some girl laughing. Unprofessional!!! I was told they would pick up on May 27th. May 27th, nobody came!!! The next day I called the corporate office. They just forwarded me to Capital Expressway store and it just kept ringing. I was so damn frustrated I hung up. May 29th, I called early in the morning and they answered quickly this time. I explained nobody came to pick up this wrong grill on May 27th. She said she saw there was a scheduled pick up, but sometimes the third party service they use won't pick up if they'd truck was full. Nobody called me to inform me. She said the best thing she could do was reschedule to pick up on June 1st. Finally on June 1st they finally picked this darn thing up! So I walk into Home Depot last night. I'm somewhat handy but had a question about plumbing. Not 100% sure which fitting I should purchase. I ask for help from one of their sales associates who gives me the "deer and the headlight" look. I walk up to the manager and I ask him if I could talk to someone about plumbing fittings. He says he's sorry. There's no one in the store that can help me. This is Home Depot, correct? We had a lot of weeds pop up after the last rain we had that we needed to use a weed whacker. So instead of buying one we decided to rent. The staff in the tool rental area were all very nice and helpful with great personality. We decided to rent it for the whole day (believe that was $60+ taxes) so we didn't have to stress on getting it back on time. The tool worked great and did the job. Returned it and that's it. We will be doing the backyard next, and we will rent from them again. Such an easy process and a great tool. Plenty of parking. There's a Starbucks with a drive thru in the same parking lot, and a guy selling fresh fruit. Coffee to get you caffeinated for the job, fruit to cool you off after. read more

Dropped by my neighborhood Home Depot today looking for two items. I found one of them which is pretty good. But shopping there is now a nightmare because they have filled the center of the aisle with more merchandise, so if someone is browsing in your aisle and you are pushing a shopping cart, then you can't just swerve around them but you have to find a break in the center and work back to where you were. It's a pain in the tookus. Guess I'll head for Lowe's next time. read more

I was looking at a fridge at Lowes but they were out of stock. Came to Home Depot to see they had the same exact model but it was more expensive. I ordered some items for my mom online and requested curbside pick up which is convenient. When I arrived, there was only 4 spots for curbside pickup but it was all taken. I noticed there was only one car with someone in there waiting for their pickup and the other 3 cars were empty. I had to park somewhere far for about 10 mins until a spot became available. I was annoyed but once I parked in a curbside spot and entered my information, everything came out within five minutes. I also had two separate orders but they came out really fast. Wow. Don't go here if you need help with ANYTHING. Employees prioritize "the floor being presentable" over helping their customers. THEY MADE ME FEEL BAD ASKING FOR HELP. I had asked for help cutting some wood pieces. The first guy originally was friendly and helped saw a piece for me. But I still had 4 more. He asked another employee to help him bc the saw sucked and he needed a hand. The other guy said, "Wow we really don't have time for this." Directly in front of my mother and I. They stood there with their hands on their heads, rolling their eyes saying, "You understand that we have other things to do. We are incredibly busy." And left me with the stupid broken saw and a tape measure that was jammed. Honestly the worst customer service I've ever witnessed. Who tf says that keeping the store "presentable" was more important than helping two women trying to just cut a handful of wood pieces. I understand that this review is harsh. But I work customer service and this was so awful. They genuinely made me feel bad for asking for their help. Yeah, would be nice if the original tool cutter was working. I reserved a mini grinder online but the cutting wheels are not included. So I went to Aisle 19 to search for one specifically for metal but all they had was used to cut masonry. I didn't leave empty handed, I went with the next best thing... 36"bolt cutters! I had a few thick pad locks to remove and it worked perfectly. They charge $25 for a deposit, $10 for min of 4 hrs, which was subtracted from the deposit. The entire process was very and convenient! read more
