I spent several thousand dollars here to renovate my home. They never called to deliver. Finally I called them, got put on hold 3 times, hung up on, and finally found someone picked-up, bad-mouthed the other employees and promised to help. She scheduled me for delivery the following Monday "sometime between 6am and 8pm" -- a delivery that never came. Sorry I don't have much of anything positive to say about this location. This Home depot, like most, is infested with employees that don't value their customers. Im not saying all are like this, just the majprity. When u ask for help, they act like it's an annoyance for them to assist you. Terrible attitudes all around, not motivated at all. I had gone in to purchase 2 sliding glass patio doors for my home. I picked exactly what I wanted out. I double checked with the associate if the installers would install the doggy screen door as well as re-install the security bars from my old doors to my new doors. I was told that of course they would do that, we even payed extra for them to do it. I had to stop by Home Depot after 2 weeks because the installers had not called me to set up an appointment. That is where it started going down hill. They finally set a date, A MONTH, after I had already paid for everything. Well the installation is even worse. I was given a time slot from 8-12, keep in mind 3 people took off of work to be here for this install as I work. We were told it would take all of the day. THEY DID NOT ARRIVE UNTIL 4PM!! The only reason they finally decided to show up is because I threatened to cancel the entire transaction. That is incredibly inconsiderate. When the laborers arrived, one of them was extremely rude. He said that he would not install my security bar nor the dog screen door that we had paid for! As if that wasn't enough, it started raining when they were doing the install. They did not bring any shoe protectors or blankets to cover the floors, I had mud all throughout my house. oh and they stole my security bars after I asked them to leave it. The worst. The shelves are rarely stocked properly. Looking at the boxes above for the product number you are looking for is routine. Waiting for a ladder is a 30 minute wait. No one makes eye contact or simply walk away from you when you get close. The only person that will talk to you is the solar panel sales guy that will stalk you thru the aisles. The hardware aisle is chaos. Looking for something specific will be fruitless. You may get luck finding something by looking in other places. Floor staff outright refuse to check inventory levels even if you provide them with their own stock numbers. Need building materials? That register always has 10 people in line and they rarely open their second register. Rental Dept? Good luck finding tools that work or finding a reasonable line or a second person at the desk. Have literally had to call the 800# to have them call the store manager to get more registers open. You suck! Stock your shelves! Organize your product! Hire more staff and find some that care about helping customers! Makes me sour that this is the closest one to my house. read more

So annoyed with Home Depot that we cancelled our dishwasher purchase. We bought a dishwasher over the phone and was told that we could call the installation contractor to arrange to have them come on the same day the item was delivered even though it needed to be confirmed to be in good condition. I kept getting calls from contractors associated with Home Depot telling us we needed to pay separately for installation even though we already paid HD for installation. It took me an HOUR on the phone with HD to get a manager on the phone to find out what was going on, and was told that I couldn't use any of those contractors and couldn't schedule installation until after the dishwasher is delivered. I asked if that meant that the item would just sit on the middle of the kitchen and they said there's nothing they can do to help. We cancelled the order and bought it somewhere else that made the process a lot easier. No more appliances from Home Depot ever!!! read more

On Friday, March 13, 2020, I ordered a freezer from Home Depot online for delivery and got a delivery confirmation for Thursday, March 19th. My wife & I spent several hours preparing for the delivery the night before, and the morning of the delivery removing obstacles and doors so that it could be placed in our basement. By 2pm, we had still not heard from them as to when the delivery would take place, so I called customer service to get any info that they could give me on a delivery time. They told me that the delivery was being done by the vendor, Electrolux/Frigidaire, and gave me their number to call. Upon contacting the vendor, I was told that the freezer I ordered was on backorder, and would not be available until April 7th... 19 days after the original delivery date given to me by Home Depot. The lack of communication from HD & from the vendor was totally inexcusable. A simple phone call from either of these two businesses seemed to be too much to ask. To add insult to injury, HD had billed my credit card on the day of the order and not on the scheduled delivery date! read more

I have been going to this home depot for over 10 years, it's a bit hidden from the rest of the home depots because it was one of the first in md, but gotta love home depot cause they are awesome for my field of work and you can remodel your home and get plenty of useful advice from some of the associates. Not all of them are knowledgeable. They are pretty decent when getting things stocked on shelves, but there are times where I have to drive to the nearby college park store, That's why I didn't give them 5 stars. read more

Well simply put; After visiting this particular Home Depot I went home and ordered from Lowe's. This is a testament to this store's customer service. It was easier to order the $800 Weber grill via phone and to get answers to all my questions via impersonal communication. It's a shame really since I set out to buy the grill - the purchase was a foregone conclusion. Service personnel were not knowledgeable, could not answer questions and made only a limited effort to be proactive to close the sale. As I said a shame as the purchase was a foregone conclusion. Best of the bunch for big box... This Home Depot is the friendliest and most helpful within the DC metro area. Trust me, I have visited them all. The staff is very knowledgable and will take the time necessary to help with questions. On rare occasion I have found them to be under staffed, but unfortunately this is case with most of them. read more

Very difficult to get consistent information from employees. Scheduled a delivery of four appliances for the same day. After being bounced around on the phone with no results, I decided to go to the store to make sure that all appliances were being delivered that day. I was assured that all four appliances were being delivered together. Lo and behold, on the day of delivery, I got a call saying that only two of the appliances would be delivered and that delivery of the other two was being handled by another contractor and would have to be scheduled for another day. Inefficient service on the part of Home Depot not to mention a lack of respect for the time of customers! read more

I went to this Home Depot for paint and had a very frustrating experience. I told the associate our exact room measurements and she told me how much paint I would need. About 3/4 of the way through our first coat we completely ran out of paint. We had to make another trip back to Home Depot and I spoke with a different associate in the paint department. He told me that the type of paint we bought always required two coats and that the associate that morning should have known we would need more. He advised that I speak with a manager, which I did. Unfortunately her response was "What do you want me to do?" Rather than apologize for the inconvenience, she tried to explain that it can be hard to estimate how much paint you'll need to cover different surfaces. Not the answer I expected from the place that is supposed to have experts helping with DIY projects. Overall a very disappointing experience. read more

I remember when Home Depot had a terrible reputation for customer service/helpfulness. etc. That has changed -- at least at the SS store! I recently had new doors installed on my house -- and the staff at HD couldn't have been more pleasant, more helpful and -- just spot on with suggestions, etc. We used to favor their primary competitor (name starts with an L) --but, we have seen a backward slide at that store -- and a rise in prices! While HD has really improved its customer service -- and seems to be offering much more competitive pricing. Even just stopping in for firewood or a plant -- they are definitely working hard to win back customer loyalty! read more

I shop here all the time and have been for a number of years. I noticed over the last year that the service has improved a lot. There is now a greeter at the door to offer help or direction. If I am looking for something and seem a little lost I am approached by an employee and offered help. If I ask where something is located I have been walked to the area instead of being pointed in the direction... GREAT IMPROVEMENT!! The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is for the selection of products at this particular location. I wish they had more diverse selection of things like tile and lighting. read more

Went to HD to pick out a storage cabinet for my carport. Asked Wayne for help when I only saw the floor model. After he tried very hard to get someone to come to the dept, I went to the service desk. At the service desk Shyla called around and although inventory said there were 4 cabinets, they couldn't find them. She and another guy got down the floor model. I asked for 10% off, but they gave me about 21% off. As soon as I got it out to my car, there was Moses helping people and he came right over to me and got the thing in my car! So although I was there for a while and the cabinet had 3 cracks in it (I saw when I got home), I was thrilled to get such a discount. Everyone that helped me was so nice and actually wanted to help me. When they get more cabinets in, I plan to get another even at full price. I hope I go when then same folks are there. read more

I visited the store last Friday, April 13, 2018, I was interested in purchasing kitchen back splash. I had been in the isle for about 10 minuets when a employee (orange vest) walked by, I greeted the employee " Hello, how are you today?, May I ask a question please; Re: the back splash" The employee replied, " I'm Hot and tired! now what do you need!!. In response to her reply... I decided not to ask any questions about the items I was trying to purchase, after she saw the disappoint in my face she started to say I can help you!! , what you need?, what you need?.. Mam I can help you, I just walked away.... Wow, sadly I believe this was management as I heard her speaking loudly with other employees as I entered the store. It was a heavy-set fair complextion lady with short hair. I shook my head in disbelief, I wanted to purchase over $500.00 worth of materials, but because of her rude and non-customer service attitude I took my business elsewhere. I drove to the Home depot in Rockville, MD where I was greeted very pleasantly upon entering the store and assisted in a very professional manner throughout my purchase. It is my hope that this comment will be recognized by the Corporate office of Home Depot and the employees get a lesson in CUSTOMER SERVICE. read more

Think twice before ordering windows or doors for installation from this store. The people who take the orders are great but they send products for installation without checking for defects or if all of the parts are there. It took upwards of 6 visits for me to get the products that I paid for without scratches, etc over a period of at least 4 months. On a warranty product they had the nerve to send people who had no familiarity with the type of door installed and to send dinged and scratched doors. After a defective door is sent the store should be on notice for good service. The expeditor doesn't return calls, follow through, or ensure quality service. The store explained to me that it is not their policy to inspect products prior to installation even when they have already sent defective products. It is their policy to accept full payment yet not provide good service - this applies to the manufacturer and the third party installer Home Depot contracts. Never again. read more
