I'm only writing this review because of the negative experiences I've had with the workers. As a young woman trying to go about home improvement projects on my own, I do as much research as possible about what I need prior to coming to home depot. The workers I've encountered at this home depot have been incredibly rude and patronizing when I've asked valid questions. Home Depot has been our main source for tools, home repair material, etc, for many years. While finding someone to help you in this particular store is really a challenge, they carry enough stuff that will justify our continuing to be customers there. There have been times that I just order something through them online, so no fuss or muss. This review is actually for the service that this Home Depot uses for appliance delivery. I'm posting this review in the hopes that Home Depot notices. The name of the company is Ritchie Trucking (AKA Bruce Logistics), 2885 Volpey Way in Union City. Wow. This company so sucks. We paid for a dishwasher a month ago. About 10 days after the order, they came to deliver. However, the dishwasher was damaged at delivery (and yes, we took pictures) so we requested a new one. Well, another 10 days for the next delivery. This time they declared that the opening for the dishwasher was insufficient and they never even took the dishwasher out of the truck. I looked up the specs on the dishwasher and there are adjustable feet on the bottom of the dishwasher, making the potential height 33 1/2" to 34 1/2". The opening is 33 7/8" so YES, it would have worked. So I called this company (510)675-9224 and that lady was pretty nice. I did have to explain to her that there are adjustable feet on dishwashers (how can they not know this since they do the installation?). She said that she would send in the order and have it delivered by Saturday, which was today. And it wasn't delivered. So I called again. A very inept person with a limited vocabulary answered. I say limited vocabulary because the only thing she could say was "This order was cancelled on May 1st." I said, "No, I didn't cancel the order. It's been a month since I made the order." "This order was cancelled on May 1st." "I DID NOT CANCEL THE ORDER." "This order was cancelled on May 1st." "How could it be cancelled when there was an auto-call yesterday from your company saying it would be delivered?" "This order was cancelled on May 1st." You get the picture. Here we are a month after we first purchased a dishwasher and the delivery company cancelled the order. I wonder if Home Depot realizes that it's using such an inept delivery company. read more

I was on hold for 25 minutes with this store while simultaneously attempting to use their chat feature on their website. After 25 minutes on hold, Sabrina supposedly transferred me to the correct department, but there was just silence, and five minutes later the connection was disconnected. Meanwhile on chat, it took almost and hour to determine that AN OVEN WAS NOT THE SAME THING AS A REFRIGERATOR. Then there was no response for many minutes, and when I tried typing again, that service agent had disappeared and they wanted to start the whole process all over again. All I wanted was the name and number of a repair person to fix the refrigerator I had bought from them a couple of years ago, which is already not working. read more

this series of emails was also texted to 2 managers. Without assurance our stuff is safe and secure during this (probably) last chance to get this shed done, we're not comfortable having more Tuff Shed people on site again. It should have been built well on the installation day as advertised and promised. 4 visits later it's still not done. Without the assurance of safety and security for everything, I'm not comfortable offering Tuff Shed a 4th chance. It's logical to assume 4 days of ignoring our emails and messages means you don't want to assure us of safety and security. Since that is important to us, the visit tomorrow is off unless you confirm you do. Mar. 10 We feel this email is being ignored as we've gotten a confirmation without accepting responsibility. It is important to us that TuffShed or Home Depot take responsibility for breakage or damage for its workers. Mar. 8 Hi, Please reply to confirm the Fri 13 appt. to start 7:30-8am. Our agreement is that this will take 4 hours. Then I have to leave for work. Stuff in the shed will be temporarily put in the driveway, the shed moved at least an inch from the utility post, and then all items will be replaced to their original locations in the shed. Some materials are breakable or expensive. We need to confirm the shed will be level and if there is any breakage or damage to anything that TuffShed will pay for it. read more

Bought a GE refrigerator in December 2019. In February 2021 the compressor had to be replaced with a "compatible" compressor. Since then a grinding noise runs almost constantly. Repair person came today and said it's nothing he can fix so I called Home Depot to see if I could return it for another refrigerator and pay the difference. I was told you have a 48 hour from purchase grievous time for buyers remorse. Explained it was not buyers remorse it was a defect. She said sorry we don't take anything back. There is a no return policy. So if you buy an appliance from Home Depot make sure you're in love with it because it's yours. I have called this HD location in Soquel nearly every day around 6:30pm to 9:45pm and no ONE will pick up the phone! Some surly goat answered the phone today and could not be ruder and treat you like you are garbage for asking a simple question about items that are not on their website.. also, to find out their real hours cause I drove all the way across from the West side only to find they closed at 9:15 when their website says 10:pm After reading all the really heavy nightmarish reviews on both Yelp AND Google, maybe I shouldn't be surprised. We have a less than one year old appliance purchased from HD. It is an expensive model costing well over $1000. It is now starting to fail. If I call the service department, nobody picks up. If I call the sales department, they pick up right away. The message is obvious -- HD Soquel is anxious to take customers' money but they don't care about backing up the goods they sell. As much as I love Home Depot, this Home Depot is terrible! The store is a disaster, stuff all over the place, and missing prices. Today online, it said they have 14 traffic cones, in reality they had zero of the ones I came to the store to get. Then, I went into an aisle to get some wood and when I went to leave, they placed a pallet right behind me. So I went to the other end and it had the orange gate across it. The store is good for equipment and tools but not for materials. I bought glass subway wall tile for my kitchen. After putting it up I realized I was short by a box of tiles, went back to order 2 days after my original purchase and it was out of stock. I called the vendor and they expected some in a month. Made many calls, HD never followed thru on any of their promises nor return calls from Sabrina a manager. After 2 months of negotiating with HD trying to get the order filled I went to a distributor to fulfill the order. I only needed $100 of tile, my kitchen was 90% complete, HD was willing to let me eat the cost which amounts to thousands of dollars. Beware of ordering subcontracted work from Home Depot! They don't have your back. We purchased a Dekton countertop from Home Depot in 2016, based on a long list of features that convinced us that this was the highest quality product. The sales brochure lists "impact resistance" among its many assets: notably this feature no longer appears in their sales material. Home Depot contracts Plamar to perform the fabrication of the countertops. From the moment of delivery and installation we noticed irregularities and outright flaws along the majority of the exposed edges, especially around the radiused corners of the sink cutout. Within a couple of weeks we had a nickel sized chip become knocked out of one of these corners, caused by a thin wine glass that got knocked over. Plamar sent a worker with some plain glue to "repair" it, but we turned it down as no more than patchwork. This is the full extent that Plamar has ever supported us. Dekton is distributed and represented by Cosentino in the Bay Area. At the time they were responsive and sent a factory technician (from Spain) to examine and repair the problem. He indicated that the Plamar fabrication was substandard and that training was essential. We were satisfied with their engagement, until the corner chip that had been repaired came apart again, without any duress. Since then we have engaged Home Depot, Plamar and Cosentino to have them address the recurring fault. Each has passed the buck to the other in a never-ending hot potato of non-responsibility. Home Depot has been totally disengaged and ineffective in being a customer advocate to resolve the ongoing problems with the product they sold us. The department head, Nancy, and store manager, Jose Marquez, have not returned our calls or emails, nor have they offered any assistance. I cannot recommend Home Depot for countertops, denounce their contractor Plamar as a shoddy and irresponsible fabricator, and Cosentino an unreliable material supplier who does not stand behind their marketing claims or warranty. read more

We walked outside to get some air and decided to walk over to Best Buy. They were able to order the exact dishwasher we wanted and get it scheduled to be installed in a five minute transaction. It's really unfortunate when you walk into a store ready to buy something and the only reason you can't make the purchase is they don't have the staff organized in a way where they can even except your credit card. read more

Knowing that the Covid is an issue in delivery last October (this is now December) I ordered and paid for a dishwasher well aware that I would have to wait my turn for delivery. The first time the delivery truck arrived they were not able to leave my dishwasher because my old dishwasher had been attached to 220. However none of the delivery men spoke any English at all literally all they could tell us was "no no no no." So I hired an electrician who converted the electrical outlet to 120 and we invited them back - again waiting our turn. Then they came back and said that the box we installed was in the wrong place. So we sent them away and I had the electrician come back and had the box moved to the other side of the wall underneath the sink. Again *NO* English. The third time they came back was today, this morning, only to tell us that the hole the Electrician left between the cavity and my sink is not up to code. Frustrated I told them "you know what just leave the dishwasher" (and here's the one star part of the Yelp) he tells me that the dishwasher is now damaged from being in the truck and I will have to sign off on the damage I. Order for him to deliver. Order canceled new dishwasher ordered from Best Buy (next door) in 45 minutes. Handyman will deliver. I will never buy another appliance from Home Depot because they contract with a delivery service that is time consuming, non-communicative and destructive. read more

In my humble opinion, I would recommend never going to this Home Depot. Ace, hardware, or Amazon, or any other alternative would see more suitable. In brief, we moved into a new house and went to Home Depot to ask them if they had an electric stove, which we could use in place of our gas stove. The staff at Home Depot offered to look into this sonwe could "continue to shop"' and found a stove that would fit our hook up, which is a 110 V hook up. We confirmed with them that we would not need to install a 220 V hook up in order to do this. We gave them their credit card and they purchased the oven and arranged for a delivery day. Upon a delivery day, my wife was at home, and when the people arrived they had a 220 V oven. My wife expressed concern, but the two men appeared on a mission without concern and pushed it into our house and removed the existing working stove. the stove that they left in the middle of our kitchen (which they were supposed to install) did not hook up and clearly realized it would not hook up to our outlet. Instead of addressing this, they took our stove and left. I called immediately and got customer service within approximately 10 minutes. They refused to return our original stove, which was working and functioning and did not actually need to be replaced. At this point, we have a stove that will not hook up to our 110 voltage. We also prior to them delivering at the gas cut off to the kitchen given that we were assured, we would not need a gas hook up anymore as they assured us that we would be using electric. So at this point, I have a newborn baby, a family, and no ability to cook for them. I've been on the phone for a total of five hours from customer service with the store as well as corporate Home Depot. I have been transferred to a "" supervisor, but hung up on multiple times. All I want is a functioning stove. My old stove would completely work as it did before they caused all of this problem. An attempt to mitigate the issues, we called and electrician and they informed us that it would be approximately $3000 to install 220 V outlet to the kitchen. I informed Home Depot of this specifically Jose at the Home Depot store on SoCal and he laughed and said there's no way we're going to help you with this. I asked again for my old stove back has all I really want is a functioning stove. They said that they refused to do this but that if we purchased a new stove from them they could discount us $200. They seem to agree, just given that the cost that they have now left us with is approximately $3000 to get a installation that will match the stove which they erroneously delivered to us. I am open to many alternative options, however, the current situation is unacceptable. I have spoken with our general contractor, our neighbors and all have had similar experiences that cause them to never go to this Home Depot. read more

I ordered a grill ASSEMBLED for curbside pickup. My receipt clearly states that! After waiting in a line for over half an hour for curbside pickup, it was NOT ASSEMBLED!!!! They did not care. I've had many experiences at this store, both good and horrific. Alida in the customer service department, and the manager Mr. Marquez we're both extremely helpful, and in my opinion went above and beyond what your typical box store employee is willing to do. Those two employees are what drive this higher rating. The store, in general could use a bit of help. Not enough employees roaming for assistance, the nuts/bolts aisle is often mis-stocked with items so check EVERY piece of hardware prior to purchase. When comparing with the next closest Home Depot in Watsonville there seems to be a drastic difference in store cleanliness, organization, and employee availability/attitude. If it weren't for the fact that I live within a few blocks of the Soquel Home Depot I would DEFINITELY take the extra time to roll down to the Watsonville location. Went there are a 2nd time in 2 days to buy a case of spray paint. Its locked up. Took 20 min to find someone to open it. The 2nd time i wnet direcxtly to paint dept and asked for help to open, the old man begrrounging left his post and opened up the case with is key. I found only 2 cans on shelf but website said there was 104 cans in stock. I asked if he could find the other cans needed and he said if you can look above and see a sku # he will get it. i told him to please find someone that can help me get the products I need, he said that he can not see because he has macular degentration. The parking lot can get a tad crazy in here with the Best Buy and huge Safeway but over all a good experience. We had three folks ask us if we needed help, but when it came the washer and dryer section they were super busy... which was fine we just looked around and found two we wanted to compare and are going back today. This is not reflective of staff. They're normally nice in the store. This is an issue with HD not working with their customers and offering flexibility, when the issue stemmed from errors on their side. We have spent so much of our income, regrettably, at HD after living in two fixers. Both kitchens were remodeled through HD. My husband tried to return a large, excess amount of trim that was ordered. He requested a store credit as it was outside of the 60 day window since the order. They wouldn't budge and refused. This is frustrating because the order was missing pieces from the beginning. Those pieces were ordered, delayed, and finally in our home 4+ weeks after we expected them. This delay was made worse by the fact that our cabinet installer couldn't magically make himself available around HD's flakey schedule. We didn't want to return trim pieces until the finishing work was complete, which just wrapped up. So if HD fulfillment delays are going to be blamed on COVID, why can't they understand that customers are also going to experience delays due to COVID? TLDR: Go elsewhere for your home remodeling projects. read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service desk. Delivery is INCREDIBLY BAD and very inconsistent. The delivery just didn't show up despite waiting at home during the 12-hour delivery window for which I paid $99!!! I called 4 times to reschedule and spent 30 minutes on hold each time before giving up and hanging up. Had to actually drive to the store in order to speak to an actual person to reschedule the delivery. I was in the store for over an hour trying to coordinate and get my $99 back. Nightmare experience that no customer should have to endure. My advice: do not go to this store! read more

Home Depot's online website appears deceptively functional, but when it comes to follow-through, they just won't do what they say they will. In my attempt to have them install a microwave oven, we couldn't even get past a successful delivery. When ordering, you will receive a message indicating that they will call you the day before delivery to schedule a four-hour delivery window, but they didn't. Instead, they sent an email. Okay, glad I saw it. The email specifically indicated they would call half an hour before arriving. But again, they didn't. So after waiting past the four-hour delivery window, I went back to my email and noticed they'd sent me a message saying "We're two stops away" and one saying "Sorry we missed you." Oh? We were supposed to be communicating by email for this entire time? Great, thanks for letting me know. When I called the 800 number, I had to listen to a list of lame excuse as to why they probably didn't call instead of acknowledging the problem: that they said they'd do something and then failed to do it. Immediately I knew I'd be wasting more of my time trying to work around such incompetence, so I canceled the order and purchased a new microwave from a small appliance store in the next town, where they actually did what they say they would. Lesson learned: Home Depot has a lot of stuff at great prices, but judging by my own experience and that of others here, it doesn't appear that Home Depot has figured out how to manage their own system very well if basic failures like this continue to occur. read more

Zero COVID-19 safety protocols being followed by the majority of the employees.  If you are going to get COVID-19 you will get it from going to Home Depot. Wearing a face mask off your nose or under your chin is doing nothing to protect the public, yet this is how they wear the mask at Home depot.  In addition, there is a complete lack of social distancing by employees, and they are constantly removing there mask in areas crowded with people.  Moreover, the overcrowding of the store demonstrating a complete lack of concern for anyone's safety in our community.  No other store that I have been in has shown such a brazen disregard for the safety of our community     Every time I pass the store there are multiple employees (today there where 6 of them) all standing should to should, some with no masks on, in a small circle in the only pathway to getting into the store, no concept of social distancing.  This is the direct result of pore management, the Best Buy and Safeway next door has non of this stupidity going on and the newly reopened Outdoor Supply Hardware (OSH) up the street is a very safe store to be in. This bad behavior and endangering our community is the falt of the management team not educating employees and enforcing safety protocols. I will be taking all my business to OSH, San Lorenzo lumber locally & using Lowes online from now on. read more

First, it is impossible to find an email to content Home Depot on their website. I am still waiting on the phone to speak to a rep after holding at least 20 minutes. They have made it difficult to cancel orders that are backordered and not available for weeks. The window for cancellation should be more than 24 hours. Second, while it is great they offer curbside pickup, they are not organized or equipped to do this efficiently. There was confusion about waiting in your car or go up to a window. The clerks at the window were struggling to do both. I am a senior and did not relish standing in line with other clients, some not wearing masks. Third, the window clerks were not wearing masks or gloves. When I asked if HD did not provide them, the woman said yes they did but she only used it for when she went grocery shopping. This is not acceptable as her not wearing a mask puts clients at risk, as well as herself who is encountering many people all day. I love this place! Yes, I know it's a hardware store but it was a great visit! I went in my dad to get some keys made and we meet a very lovely associate Karen. She was absolutely professional and personable. Also very gracious and kind. She helped us every step of the way and was very patient with our endless questions. She made us two perfect keys and left us feeling great leaving the store. I would recommend getting your key cutting needs done at Home Depot. Who knows you might get this meet this lovely lady. Do not buy an appliance here. The order and delivery were difficult. The refrigerator came with the handle on the wrong side and they could not figure out how to switch it, I was on the phone 12-15 times and could not resolve problem for six months. They offered me a 50 dollar certificate for all the problems I encountered but never gave it to me. The Frigidaire that I purchased was noisy and could not maintain temperatures. I have defrosted this "frost free" freezer 3 times in two weeks. The milk goes bad in a couple of days because while the freezer works overtime the fridge cannot get cold enough. Have always had a good experience with the store on 41st. My closest and has never failed me on any of my shopping trips. Either had or could order what I needed or wanted. Floor associates are knowledgeable and seem to answer and assist, as best they can. .DO NOT CALL THEM! They are lax in answering, at best. Let your fingers do the walking is not in their knowledge or history. If you live close enough, spend some gas money and ask your question in person. Hopefully you will get an answer. read more

I had a washing machine scheduled for delivery from Home Depot. I arrange my schedule for Saturday. They never called they didn't show up. Then they arranged it for Monday again, they didn't show up for another excuse. The money you save going to Home Depot may not be worth it. If I had to do it again I would shop at Costco: better service , Better quality. read more
