I went in Sunday night over a pricing problem to show them the price match and they have a 30 day price match policy. Rude, dismissive, unbelievable. I even had on my deisgner jacket and outfit that is trees and a forest and seeing this they figured I was in the army and got even more rude. Of course they declined my price match and I told them to go to hell. I spend 2 million a year on construction materials and appliance and tools. I told my project manager and foreman to find a lumber yard and use Lowes or any other place but never Home Depot again. They told me to just get over it. She stood there and completely acted as if we weren't there when we walked up with a paint swatch to be made. She was so rude and her whole aura was completely dismissive. We had to ask another associate if she worked here and he said she does, been there about a month, after he assisted us, she asked us if we needed help, after she blatantly acknowledged and took another customer in front of us, of course they were not people of color. We told her yes we were being helped. First of all, when a customer walks up to your counter, acknowledge them, even if you are there inputting information into the register, let them know you are aware of their presence, and you will be with them momentarily , because the paint isn't going to make its self! I have been a customer of this location for 10 years. During a visit a few years ago, I accidentally left my wallet on a pile of wood (!), and the staff members were honest and returned the wallet to me with no money missing. During my most recent visits, I purchased wood, gardening supplies such as a watering can, and flowers. The employee who cut our wood made sure that it was the appropriate length and that it had a couple of extra inches in case we made a mistake at home. The nursery had a decent selection of plants. The cashier there was cheerful but seemed very annoyed that a barcode was faded and did not scan well. They could greet customers more. Prices have been fine. read more

We asked a fella for help finding a certain kind of tape measure and he basically sneered, asking, "Well, did you check the tape measure section? The tape measures are in the tape measure section." We had been remodeling our bathrooms and were at this Home Depot a lot for the past month. The staff had been helpful especially when suggesting how we can save money. In one of the instances, we were looking to buy a toilet and asked the associate to help us out with taking it down from the shelf. The associate told us that the parts for the model that we liked are not standard parts so if we need replacement in the future, we would have to special order the part. I really appreciate those kind of insights. I am also pleased with the ease of returning any extra parts that we didn't use. Also, on Saturday mornings, they have workshops for kids. read more

I would give it 3 solid stars. Just because I go in and find what I want and check out. I never ask for assistance because I have learned the hard way its useless. Only the Paint center gets 5 stars. Then one night I come in to fix a problem at the information booth and I am wearing a designer jacket called The Canopy my mom got me. The two women there were talking and saw me and kept talking. I could tell they thought I was in the military so they decided I wasn't worth helping. The jacket looks camoflauge but its designer and I am smart and I just waited there saying nothing to see how long it would take them to help me. Finally a guy comes over and helps me and I just make sure I get all my paperwork back and adios.....I will find another store to buy from. read more

Had the absolute worst experience today purchasing deck stain. The employees in the paint bay were yelling at my mom and I for being in their way. One associate even brushed up against my mom in the middle of the pandemic to say she was in his walk way!!! I couldn't believe the way they were yelling at us. Brandy the GM was very friendly and helped us because when it was our turn the other associates refused to assist us. Things escalated because the associates had no respect for us as customers. If they needed us to line up in a certain area there is a polite way to ask or they could mark the floor to make it easier for customers to self navigate. I honestly do not think I can be a patron of an establishment that yells at their customers like that and physically touches customers to "prove" a point. read more

I bought appliances from Home Depot on July 3rd 2019. I was told they will be delivered July 13th 2019. I kept calling them trying to get updates of delivery of washer and dryer they kept telling me they will be right there. They never came no explanation, no phone calls. I called the manager to the Home Depot in Springfield VA (Frontier) and he hasn't bothered to call me back. Nobody calls me back with any explanation on why this happened. It would have taken a simple phone call to let me know they weren't going to make it. This is appalling i can't even cancel and go anywhere else because I had my credit ran by Home Depot to get this appliances. This has caused great anxiety and stress, I need this machines to wash my clothes and children's clothes. They said they rescheduled me to next Friday 19th without consulting me, I can't miss another day of work waiting for them again. They don't care about the customers I have been ignored and disrespected by Home Depot. I work hard for my money, if I missed a payment with them they would want penalty payments, but they have no problem disrespecting there clients and have zero accountability. read more

Just went into the store to exchange a plant that died due to the amount of rain that we have had. The manager of customer service was so rude and had a major attitude. While I was talking to the manager, 2 other employees came into the conversation even though I was not talking to them. I was there the week before and was told that as long as I brought the plant back, I could exchange it without needing the receipt. Now I was told that I need the receipt and not the plant. They also told me that since I don't have the receipt and if they did the exchange it would be like they were paying the vendor double as only one plant was paid. Then the manager said that a plant could be exchanged, even if the receipt is over a year old. All I can say is that I will not be buying anything from the Home Depot ever again, even though it is only 15 minutes away. read more

Ordered flooring on 10/8/2020, was told it would take 8-10 business days to be delivered to the store then to my house. I've had to follow up in regards to a status of my order, I was only called regarding the status after I called them (for a second time). The materials came arrived on 10/10/2020 (found this out because I called and asked for an update). Now, I'm being told the delivery men will drop the materials off in the parking lot and they will not bring it to my door (I understand they won't go inside). I live on the 3rd floor of condo... I asked if I could cancel my order and get my money back but was told they would keep $400 (15%) of the material cost because the materials would need to be shipped back. They took six weeks to deliver the materials, but I can't get a refund?!? Also, they can't deliver the materials to my house, but they can come in my house and install those same materials they refuse to deliver to my door... If this is what's going on prior to the flooring even being installed, who knows the the actual installation will work Complete bullshit read more

Here's my problem with this Home Depot - and I've never once had a problem before at this location. So on a Saturday I decided that I needed to go get some more cleaning supplies. So off to Home Depot I went. I found my products easily (if you've been to one, you've been to them all). I went to the checkout line, and I noticed that there was a gentleman and his wife (I'm assuming) in front of me. They were in the process of paying for their items, and the husband pulls out his military ID - well not really his ID, but it sufficed. Anyway, he received the discounts. During the brief time while he paid for his goods, the representative checking him out was so nice, so chipper, just so friendly. She provided excellent customer service. Once he was finished, my turn was next. Do you know that this woman just stared me down and did not open her mouth? I looked at her for at least a good 5 seconds and asked her, "How are you?". She just abruptly said "Fine". Like I'm the damn employee of Home Depot. Once I paid for my materials I told her to have a good day...nothing from her. So what seemed to be the difference between me and the gentleman in front of me? Other than skin color - I didn't even use my military discount because I left my ID at home. Did she ask me about it? Absolutely not. I hope that maybe she was having an off day - but it's irritating when not two seconds prior she was so friendly, and yet I get a cold stare. I know that life isn't fair, but damn...why should I continue to use this business when as a customer I'm treated differently? Never again - Springfield, you can keep this. read more

Today I placed an order with the Home Depot on Frontier in Springfield. I received an email that the order was ready to pick up. When I arrived I was surprised to see that most of the employees were not wearing masks. Then I discovered that my order wasn't ready. And employee was summoned to assemble the items in my order, and I had to wait inside the store while this occurred. None of the employees had any sense for social distancing, and the gentleman who was supposed to help me seemed to have no idea. When I complained to the cashier, she laughed at me. I don't understand why I had to go to the cashier at all since I had already paid with my credit card early that morning. I will never return to the store. When it came to upgrading my kitchen, I was blown away by Home Depot's insufferable cross-section of shitty big-box store customer service, inflated prices, inexplicable line item charges, and the opportunity to project manage everything myself since Home Depot's individual teams for appliances, countertops, flooring, and cabinets do NOT work together. To illustrate, I'll give you two short hypothetical scenarios: First: Imagine that you want to get your appliances and floors done. In addition to the cost of the appliances themselves, Home Depot's appliance team will charge you say $250 to unplug your old stove and dishwasher and install the new ones. Then the floor team will charge you that same price to again unplug and reinstall your appliances while they install the floor. If you ask if they can coordinate so that this all happens in sequence (1. take old appliances out 2. install new floors 3. install new appliances) you will get that mouth ajar stare that makes your gut say "the kitchen's not that bad, I don't need to deal with this shit right now." Now imagine adding countertops/cabinets/etc and all the associated appliance hookups, plumbing etc and this issue gets exponentially more pronounced. Second: Imagine you get an in-store quote for a new floor. You provide your estimated measurements and select your material. The sales rep prepares a quote and goes through it with you. Everything makes sense - materials, labor, delivery, takeaway. Let's say that quote was $4000. Then, in order to proceed, you have to book a $30 formal measurement and price quote appointment. Fine, right? A few days later, a guy shows up and takes measurements that match yours to the square foot. He leaves and tells you to check your email for a quote. That email arrives, and your quote is $5500. The entire extra $1500 is made up of unexplained line item charges like "$485 FORMAT UPGRADE" and "$425 BASIC PATTERN UPGRADE." Phone calls to Home Depot for explanation result in answers such as "Oh damn bro that IS weird" and "Well that's the fee for the format upgrade and basic pattern upgrade"- and the only respite they offer you is a "manager's special deal" of five percent off. Sweet dudes! Five percent off your unexplained 35% jump! Could you throw in a coupon for 25% off appetizers at Chili's down the street? That was the exact moment I decided these guys could piss off and go back to cutting spare housekeys. Home Depot Corporate: Hire some PMPs and offer an in-store project management service! I'd gladly have paid for this but walked right out of the door due to the complete lunacy you are peddling on your store floor right this moment. I also found SIGNIFICANTLY better prices elsewhere. It would behoove you to figure out that much of your competition seems to have a pulse, brain, and doesn't look at the floor when I ask questions about what they are charging me for. Figure it out before more of your customers do. read more

Purchased a stove and refrigerator. Upon delivery we found that the refrigerator would not fit. The delivery crew was outstanding, Home Depot's poorly executed return process is not customer oriented. Went back to the store to change the order to a different model in a different size as instructed. First answer was that we paid by check, so it would take 30 days for a refund to reorder. Not a good answer when cheeks are processed electronically at the point of purchase. Second answer was that we would have to wait 48 hours for it to be electronically processed to confirm the item was in fact not delivered. It is almost 2018 and deliveries are verified electronically via wireless on the spot. The system is clearly in communications with the drivers, because we received a call that they were in route for a delivery tow hours ahead of the earliest time in the window we were scheduled for, but nobody can contact the driver when it is related to taking care of a customer in a situation like this. UNSATISFACTORY customer service. I could understand the delay if we were asking for a cash refund, but we were simply looking to change the model, pay a higher price even for one the smaller version of the same thing (which in itself is not logical), and to get in cue for a new delivery date. I sure miss H.H. Gregg. There even salesman had the authority to apply common sense. Home Depot; someone needs to relook processes like this, give the local management the authority to manage, and please have someone research concepts like customer service, customer satisfaction, and customer intimacy. This kind of ineffective process is not the way to build customer loyalty, and is not going to cut it in today's consumer environment... we are headed to Lowe's next! read more

TERRIBLE! 1. Never started a prepaid job. 2. Terrible service, screw-ups everywhere. There were nice people but no one who could complete the job or help us, and instead kept passing us to the next rep. October 2008: pay for measurements (which gets credited to the entire job bill if you purchase materials and complete the job with them) and 3 doors with installation (separate payment). October passes and nothing so follow up and told, "Sorry, it's being processed, it will be done, we promise." November 2008: passes, we follow up and told, "sorry, someone made a mistake and the order didn't go through. you already waited, just wait a little more and we'll throw in a 10% discount." We have this in writing, a signature and verbal OK from the manager... December 2008 passes and fed up, we ask for a complete cancellation and refund, including the credited amount for the measurements. For two weeks, we were asked, "Can we do anything to keep your business?" but we were through. End of January 2009: finally receive the refund MINUS the measurement payment after being promised a FULL reimbursement for the hassle. February 4, 2009: the rep stood by the computer (which obviously has not been the best method for keeping track since people kept screwing up!) and instead of looking at the paper trail, stood by the WRONGLY INPUTTED info on the computer. RIDICULOUS! How hard is it to follow-through on an easy prepaid job?? IRONICALLY, we started this process with HD b/c of a promotion for rebates on the installation... we have had NO issues with the rebate process... ?! read more

Went to self check out DIDN'T even swipe my card and had manager, Ana, come to verify ID, then she decided to call credit card company. (Didn't swipe my card. Usually if you do the computer would state please call credit card company to verify) Also manager walks away with My credit card and ID to where i couldn't see what see was doing. If I want some technical help, I don't always get it. I needed a part for my bathroom sink and the plumbing guy was nice but didn't really give me the advice I desire. I actually helped an older gentlemen move a front door onto his push cart with 3 HD associates were meandering around. The parking is good as was the self checkout.
