Customer service used to SUCK, it was so hard to get good help. But now, you can ask any of the employees a question, and if they're unable to answer it, they'll get someone that can. This is the best Home Depot I have ever been to. The people are knowledgeable, friendly, and helpful!

I went in today to exchange an empty propane tank and pick up a new one. As I approached the cashier in the "return and exchange" lane, the gentleman said to me you cannot have a propane tank in the store. I said that is was empty and I was there to exchange it. He said it didn't matter and the propane tank had to be outside (all very nice and professional). As I picked up the tank two other cashiers came from the other lanes and told me the tank couldn't be in the store and that I was breaking federal law, the original employee I was speaking with said, "it's empty and I just told him that." The two other cashiers kept saying, "the tank can't be in the store". I picked it up and said fine and was about to walk out. At which point they both said it for the fourth time as I was actually walking away. I turned and said, "I got it". One of them then said, "wow, so rude." To which I replied, "you certainly are." I walked out to my car put the tank in and then bought a refill at a different line. There was no need for the two cashiers to walk over to me in the first place as I was about to walk out with the tank. Nor was there a need for them to tell me what the one gentleman had just explained. There was even less of a reason for them to continue repeating to me as I was walking out and following the instructions I had just learned. The "wow, so rude", personified the horrible way these two saw to interact with a customer. This will be my last time at this Home Depot. In fact, Lowes and Ace are just as close to my house and I have never had an issue at either. Thank you Home Depot for treating a customer so badly. read more

This is our go to Home Depot since it is so close. Over the years we have bought paint, drywall, doors, garden stuff, flooring, lighting, basically you name it we've bought it here! I am usually very happy with the customer service. I feel that of all the hardware stores out there, Home Depot as a whole tends to be extremely user friendly and this one is no exception. This store is also well stocked, which is a huge plus for one stop shopping. Personal pet peeve: I hate making multiple trips for the same project! Fair warning: getting out of the parking lot (unless you go out the back way) can be somewhat of a cluster, especially during peak hours. read more

I have been here several times now with all kinds of problems. Today I took a storm door handle and asked where I would find a screw to put it back on the door. They told me it was an inset screw and all I needed was a hex wrench. They found a hex wrench the size to fit it...done! Will you cut me some chain? .....done. Mini Christmas tree....done! A smaller Home Depot, As noted previously, not the best due to a number of factors. First, the parking lot is small and VERY cramped. It's an accident waiting to happen. Second, the store is always a bit disorganized, and pricing is almost always missing on several items, or the shelf below, leaving you to wonder around trying to find one of the nonexistent store employees. That's the other issue, I can never find store employees ANYWHERE, and the ones that I do find or ask for help are always a bit on the rude side. No one seems eager to help. It's definitely a place to go get things, but it is not a place that you would look forward to going. This Home Depot has completely disappointed me. I spent over 10k getting a bathroom renovated with them. I used parts from their store and also used them for labor. They may contract the labor to USA plumbing but I still hold them equally responsible. While the bathroom was being renovated, it was delayed two times and we never saw the project manager. In fact we had to ask him to come out because we never met him. While the bathroom looks amazing it was irritating having the project delayed. Fast forward a couple of weeks and the bathtub side glue edging is coming off and now I haven't been able to use the same bathroom which I spent over 10k on for over a week. Incredibly frustrated with Home Depot and USA plumbing and will NOT be going through with them to repair my future bathrooms. read more

Home Depots are largely one and the same, really only set apart by the employees who work at each location and the way they may be laid out. I feel like this Springfield Home Depot has so many super friendly employees, and found my recent trip very quick and easy. Cornelius behind the paint counter quickly helped me figure out which paints I needed to match the colors from my house for some patchwork, as well as digging out an older can of deck paint that was an exact match for what I was looking for, and when they realized it had been returned and they don't even carry that product anymore, he let me go home with it for free as they would just have thrown it out anyway. If it's not on the shelf go someplace else. In the last few years I have ordered or special ordered on 4 occasions, each was a horrible experience. The first was a special order storm/security door 2-4 weeks, arrived 6 weeks later wrong color, 7 weeks later hinges on wrong side, then returned to shipper due to damage, it was 6 months when I tried to cancel I was told I would loose deposit for a restocking fee, restocking how it was never stocked, vertical blinds that came with weighted cloth slats that varies in length by up to an inch, closet bifold doors that never ever arrived, now a ceiling fan that was a week overdue due to an "address error" it's your store don't you know the address ?? Ok shipper contacted it was local at UPS they "correct address " will be in store next day, check order status guess what? Redirected 1600 miles away to San Antonio Texas , that's one hell of an address correction read more

I had to prepare for an HOA inspection. Without the hubster..... Did not know where to find all the small weird hardware items. One after another I was helped to several locations. Finally, lumber--was not looking forward to lumber but Joe helped me select wood to fix my fence and cut about 8 pieces for me. He was so nice. Thank you Joe I will not dread buying wood next time. I rented Rug doctor two days ago and went back yesterday to return it. Their computer system was down and asked me to take the heavy equipment back instead of figuring it out how to take it back. I asked to speak to manager so this guy name Jimmy came out and pretty much telling me they can't do anything to accept the vacuum, then they called this guy name T Jones, he promised me that when he gets in first thing in the morning, he will void the rental and call me back. Just moment ago, I got a call from Home Depot saying I am delinquent with the return of their vacuum. I called Home Depot and luckily it was the same girl that originally tried to help me picked up the phone. Sure enough, she said she doesn't have authority to help me, specially since they already have the vacuum. I asked to speak to the manager and she said that she voided the charges. I asked her number as confirmation but she refuse to give me her name, the cashier said her name is Cavez. Lot of running around to return their equipment. I had the absolute WORST experience with the Home Depot at this Springfield location. When I asked the associates for assistance in finding cabinets for remodeling my kitchen they looked at me like I was wasting their time or annoyed at the fact that I even asked them a question. I even asked someone in the appliance section just to point me in the direction of the cabinets and he was on his phone not even noticing I was standing right there as I'm saying "excuse me sir" multiple times. There was one lady working in the kitchen department who was not pleasant whatsoever as I'm asking her if certain cabinets that I needed were in stock. She (just like everyone else working there) looked at me as if I shouldn't even ask her such a silly question. I had to repeat myself several times and my patience was running thin as well with the attitude I was receiving. Not only that, I am livid at the fact that my order for my kitchen flooring was placed and was "accidentally released" to another person. When I contacted the store I asked what happened and the person who informed me was not sympathetic at all. My overall experience with this Home Depot has been a disaster and I will not be returning back. read more

Worst location I've ever been to. Had some men come to deliver our dryer and install it just to let us know we needed a part and they couldn't do anything until we got the part. Okay fine. I go to Home Depot and spoke to "Ashby" about said part the guys from Home Depot told us to buy. He did NOT understand what my husband was trying to tell him over and over again. Standing in line inside the doors to pick up my "safe" online order, the man standing in front of me took down his mask to enjoy his drink. When I asked him to put it back up, he told me that he couldn't drink if he had it on. Well, yeah..... I approached a staff person monitoring the line and asked him to ask the person to put the mask on or leave, and he said, "I'm not security." So I asked him to get security. He did not. After picking up my item, I asked for the manager who told me that the only recourse they have is to not provide service. "But you did," I told him. "How could we have known he wasn't wearing his mask in line?" Because I told your monitor who told me he wasn't security. Beware of this particular Home Depot! I'm a Home Depot shopper for 13 years already. I never had a problem to leave my shopping cart unattended for few minutes, especially if you have a full cart loaded with drywall, plywood 2 x 4's and other stuff. For the last three months the support staff working in this store was taking my cart three times and moving everything I was collected for two hours back to shelves. I was so upset. But the time when my cart was unattended was only about five minutes. The store manager wasn't helpful at all. Be careful when you're shopping in this Home Depot! read more

I had wonderful help with getting an order for my boss. Apparently my order was not due to pick up for another 2 days, but Zee (the clerk who helped me) asked two other kind men to fill the order and bring it to the front for me. As I was leaving, Zee saw me walking out with my very heavy order and asked someone else to help me put it in my truck. I had a wonderful experience and great customer service. The location was a bit odd. It is convenient but not where you expect to find a hardware store. It has a parking deck which is.nice. However outside the covenients I don't have a lot of good to say about this store. The folks there simply do not seem to know what they are doing. I asked 3 different associates 3 different questions and got bad or wrong answers on each of them. 1. Do you carry chain link fence?. Answer: What is that? 2. Do you carry contact paper or something that can be used to line shelves or drawers? Answer: What's that? 3. Do you carry stick-on letters that can be used to put an address on a mailbox? Answer: You lost me on that one. Also on 2 separate occasions they ran me out of the isle I was shopping on to get stuff down with a fork lift. Great customer service! As soon as I entered I was greeted and asked what I was looking for. I said cinder blocks. I was directed to its' exact location without hesitation. Soon as I walked to the self checkout I was greated by a smiling face. She ninja typed my 2 cinder blocks, 2 bricks, in her CPU as I scanned my energy drank, that's right, I said drank and with a quick swipe of my card I was on my merry way. My husband just came home from home depot and shared how awesome of an experience he had. James, an older gentleman in the tools department was so knowledgable. He had excellent customer service skills, effectively helped my husband in finding the best hacksaw. He diligently walked him through the entire aisle and gave him an education on hacksaws. At checkout, the experience was poor because apparently the military discount system is revised and they require you to bring your DD214, DMV military ID and have a picture on file. Who carries their DD214? I think the cashier, begins with Sa, cant remember her specific name but I think she could have acknowledged what we did have on file and require next time that we bring the DD214. Much customer service needed in this area. I guess home depot could have given us advance notice, too. It's okay because when you have superb customer service from associates like james, they buffer all the negatives. Thanks James, you restored our faith in home depot regardless of our previous experiences. We'll pay more as long as you're there! read more

This review is based on my last experience at Home Depot. I have already written to the company directly but felt I should caution my fellow Yelpers on whom they interact with/what potentially to expect when patronizing this business. I LOVE Home Depot. My family has shopped with them for over 25 years. This location does not live up to brand standards in customer service. If you pride yourself on helpfulness and eagerness to be such, it would make sense then to hire in accordance to those standards. I was given the run-around (similar to many other Yelpers) and treated extremely rudely by an unfriendly, unhelpful team member at customer service (ironic?). Unfortunately this location is just over a block from my home so I will more than likely patronize them again, but not joyfully. And I HAVE had good experiences here. But I think we all know that one bad (read: HORRENDOUS) guest experience can shatter a business's image forever. Yea, I say unto you, fellow Yelpers, proceed with caution. Big yellow traffic light over this Home Depot. ***UPDATE 5/12: The Home Depot headquarters phoned me this afternoon to apologize for the experience and assured me that the store manager had been notified and was working diligently to improve the guest experience at this location. I am extremely grateful for the apology and acknowledgment that there is room to improve. Will look forward to seeing how this impacts the store. If only there were negative stars! We have had some bad experiences with this Home Depot over the last two years but never have I felt the need to write a review until now. In June 2013 we ordered a front entry way door through Home Depot. This was a Feather River, nothing special added to it door. We placed the order, paid for the order and were told the door would be delivered to the Home Depot within three weeks - sometimes two weeks depending on the manufacturer. It is now August 19, 2013 and we are STILL WAITING on the door. Here's how Home Depot made the situation worse. We began calling the store in July on the original target arrival date and were given a huge run around just trying to get someone in the MillWork/Door department to answer the phone. Gave up and went to the store in person same day. Found Henry in the door department - who did not know how to look up the order. Found a manager who did and finally was told the door was delayed due to the manufacturer and would be delivered by August 6. August 6th we went through the same drill. Called the store. Was hung up on four times. Called the store again - was transferred to the paint department, the flooring department, the plumbing department. Gave up again and went to the store. Was then told the door was in route - meaning it was shipped - and would be in the store on August 19. It's August 19 and I called the store. Received Henry in Doors whol told me the door has not been shipped yet. I asked to speak to a manager. Henry transferred me to the operator - made same request, was transferred to applicances. Asked to speak to the manager, was told by the person who answered they were in a meeting. Really? Asked to be transferred back to the operator. Have now been on hold for 20 minutes. We will never ever step foot in this store ever again. Save your sanity and your money - go to Lowe's, build it yourself or find it in a dumpster. Anything is better than this store and their complete lack of customer service. read more

Terrible service waited for 20 minutes for help when I finally found someone to help me get my paint mixed they were incredibly rude and obnoxious then began giving me to s of excuses as to why she can't mix the paint I needed after what felt like an hour of back and forth I left upset and ok my business elsewhere the blonde lady working paint on the 17th of October at 12-1-30pm had an attitude from the start and was extremely rude. read more

This review is specifically for attempting to purchase a door from Home Depot. Our experience was, to put it mildly, terrible. After sending out the contractor to get our measurements (which we had to pay for) the sales staff had no idea which doors would actually fit within our door frame, and it took two trips (with small children - not fun) to get it right. We ordered our door at the end of November, with the warning that there would be a long lead time because of COVID. I just checked today (early March - four months later) and found that the store NEVER ORDERED THE DOOR. I'm through with this Home Depot and will hire a contractor to install our door. read more

Came here one late evening just prior to closing. Staff were present everywhere and all acknowledged us and offered to help with anything. We spoke with several staff about locating various items. The self service pay is efficient and there's always a staff member present to help with any difficult transactions.
