This cute little bean used to be a big hit in one of my favorite refreshing places to stop by for a drink. Lately, I feel like the service has gone downhill. Quality drinks just not the best service from the barista's. I highly recommend that you be aware of what's posted on the menu as add-ons are additional which they will suggest to you however not tell you. I can say you don't have to wait long for your drink, and the drinks are always right. The quality of the drink also taste well. read more

If you're one of the millions of Americans wondering, "Should I spend money on coffee today?"--I am here to say, save your money. This isn't the place for it. Visited Human Bean this morning and received bad service from Sarah. Horrible soft skills and made a non issue an issue. Maybe it's ego, incompetence, or lack or service nature? The curbs there suck for cars that are bigger than sedans. Plus I was in a rush and forgot to stop at the voice box thing and then I was asked to pull forward and then I was in the way of a car. Weird way to make a drive thru. I was totally in a rush, confused cause it was just a simple drink I ordered then I had to leave without my drink because I didn't know how the layout of that establishment. I don't think I had ever been to a human bean location until today! Came through the drive through to get a cold brew to start my day! I had it with almond milk and vanilla. The baristas here were super sweet and friendly and got my drink out quickly! Prices are on par with most other places. Love the little coffee bean they put on top too. Only thing I didn't like was that my drink was super watery and mostly ice. Still glad I tried it though, I have a location near me so it will be good in a pinch! read more

I was super excited to try The Human Bean after having heard raving reviews about it from both family and friends - however, after having tried it TWICE at this location, I must say that this is not a place I will be returning to for my coffee-cravings. To be clear, this has nothing to do with the service or staff - they were super sweet! But rather the taste of my drinks. The first time I came I thought I would try something simple and straightforward to start with - cold brew. And I have to say, it almost tasted like regular hot coffee that had been brewed in the morning and then put on ice after it cooled down. Definitely not what I would have expected cold brew to taste like. I would not order that if you're someone that likes a good cold brew! The second time I came, which was earlier this week, I ordered a hot mocha. It tasted literally like chocolate milk - I could not taste any coffee and ended up throwing most of the drink away. I can understand that chocolate + milk is part of what makes it a mocha, but when you have literal chocolate milk as the base of the drink, it alters the flavor and does not taste like a mocha at all. My husband got a drink as well - a chai tea latte with oat milk. It was INCREDIBLY sweet. And my husband is someone who enjoys the sweeter side, and even he found it too sweet for his taste. I went to this place on a whim and boy did it make my Favorites List! The service, the drinks, and the food are fantastic (not to mention their mission to help the coffee source community)! Keeler and Hazel were so friendly and knowledgeable about the company history, mission, and products. I ordered the iced Snowy Mocha (white chocolate mocha), iced Mexi Mocha (like an iced Mexican hot chocolate), Banana Nut Muffin Top, and Cream Brûlée Muffin Top. The drinks were good and just what I needed on a hot Arizona morning. It could have used a better stir but a quick swirl every now and then worked out just fine. The muffin tops were delicious and soft. Definitely would recommend if you are looking for something other than Starbucks and Dutch Bros. I'm only human, so I finally satisfied my curiosity to try The Human Bean after walking by it a million times(great location for drive thrus). I was wilting from the 110F plus heat(walking in the area, not driving a Landrover with AC pumping). I felt like I was melting from the heat and this great, energetic staff guy Trey perked me up just talking to him. Thanks Trey. I decided on their Blueberry Pomegranate smoothie and a sausage, bacon croissant. The sandwich was hot and delicious. The smoothie was OUT OF THIS WORLD and even more fun when you feel like a human torch. This was hands down the best blueberry pomegranate smoothie I ever had and makes my all time, top ten smoothie list. The building is really cool and I really like the name and logo. After waiting in line was denied service and told to turn around and wait back in line because they had a "new speaker box" that I would have to use. Horrible way to work around a new system since they have been window only service for so long. I am a human bean that loves to drink coffee... from beans, so this was practically a match made in heaven! Stopped in for my very first time to get a mid-day coffee to fuel my energy for the rest of the day and woah, the Human Bean was amazing!!! Not only do they have mouth-watering selections on their daily menu (which I saw only after I asked the barista for recommendations), but they've also rolled out their fall specials (and they also have a secret menu... shhh). On this occasion, I chose to go with a vanilla brevé which is basically a vanilla latte made with half & half rather than milk, so it's extra rich and creamy -- yum!!! I drove around to the window and was greeted by the kindest, friendliest barista, who you could see was smiling behind the mask (the eyes gave it away). She gave me my cup of hot deliciousness, topped with a swirly puff of whipped cream and chocolate covered espresso bean... and I was on my way! The first sip was magnificent (although I burnt my tongue, haha) but I sipped it throughout the rest of my afternoon and was pleased with my selection on this coffee run... next time, I plan to get the Irish Cream latte. read more

Lots of great drink options but I'm personally picky and always have my go to order. They usually short on tea and that's my preference go. I have been to this Human Bean location hundreds of times since moving just down the street for the last couple years. At first, this place was my absolute favorite to grab coffee before work. The baristas consistently made my coffee exactly as ordered to start my day off on the right foot. In the last year, I believe there was a change of management that resulted in the disappearance of a lot of the staff that both my husband and I were familiar and had good rapport with. Since this change in management and change in staff, the quality has unfortunately gone downhill. When I stop by and see new faces, my coffee order comes out wrong. When I stop by and see the one or two people that had stayed since all the changes, my coffee comes out exactly like I want. I have no idea what the difference is, if there have been changes to the recipes, but regardless, this is no longer my favorite place to go with the unpredictability in whether my coffee will be good or not. NEW FAVORITE COFFEE place! Was craving something cold and decaf this afternoon and decided to stop by. Have driven by a hundred times and decided to check it out. We got in line behind one other vehicle and pretty soon after, one of the baristas came out to take our order. She was SO nice and, when she saw the dogs in my car, she asked if they wanted 'pup cups'? My dogs NEVER turn down a treat so their eyes told her 'YES PLEASE!'. I ordered a 32oz iced, decaf latte with sugar free hazelnut and almond milk and my boyfriend got a 12oz frozen lemonade. The pup cups came out first and they are whipped cream with a dog biscuit hidden at the bottom. Next we got our drinks which were both AWESOME! The 32oz is HUGE and was only about $6.50! Have already decided that this is our new coffee/frozen drink place! Plus they are super dog friendly which is always a plus for me! read more

We stopped here after receiving a card in the mail for a free drink. We ordered the iced mocha and java chip. The coffee bean quality and flavor is superb, it is not a harsh bitter bean like Starburns. The service was great, friendly and fast, and each drink comes with a chocolate covered espresso bean (which they sell by the bag) that is delicious. The barista also gave us a couple of cool stickers. I'll definitely be hitting up this place from now on instead of resorting to Starburns. I have been a daily customer at this location for 2 years. Since the recent change in ownership most of the staff that knew me and what I drank have left. The service has since been getting slower and slower and far less personable. The people that work there are polite, but the turnover rate is so high that it seems they are constantly new people who don't know what they are doing, making service very slow. The final straw is a stiff price increase that makes them at least as expensive as Starbucks but with way slower service and an inferior app (you can't order through their app but you can on the Starbucks app). A year ago, the Bean was quick, convenient and reasonably priced. No longer. I now have no incentive to patronize this business so I will be getting my daily coffee fix elsewhere. read more

This is a new location off of 16th St and Maryland. I've been to their Tempe spot a few times and liked their drinks. They were at the pancake run giving out samples and my race bag came with a coupon for a free 16oz drink, score. I stopped by today and was surprised to see the drive thru empty, but I pulled up to the window and ordered a java chip granita, no whip. The gal taking my order was nice and we chatted a bit about the run and running. My drink was super sweet but just what I needed for my day. Also they give you a chocolate covered espresso bean with your drink, just be sure not to drop it (totally have done that before haha.) it's because I don't get whipped cream on my drink, so the bean is just balancing on top. I always forgot to substitute almond or soy milk but I'll probably do that next time. read more

We have stopped here every Sunday morning for three years. (Phoenix location) But this morning they were only serving out of one drive through window. The other one was supposed to be for orders on the mobile app. There were no signs, however, to let one know that window was for mobile orders. And that window had NO line. The other window had a line practically to the street and was NOT moving. We downloaded the app and tried to place an order but for the life of me I couldn't figure it out. It's not a very easy app to use. VERY DISCOURAGED AND DISSAPPOINTED, we left. There other coffee shops closer to our home. I'm sorry, but you may have lost our business. read more
