I ordered the combo special of sesame chicken with wings, white rice, and egg drop soup, along with a side of crab puffs. First off, the food was still hot when I had it delivered so that made me happy. The food itself was quite bland tasting. The soup had little to no flavor as if it was watered down. I was satisfied with the sesame chicken for what the price was. My wings were a little undercooked and my crab puffs were too greasy and sweet. First off, we are at the hospital working and do not have time to dine in as we are busy with patients. When our food arrived we sorted and ate about a few later. I ate 1 chicken wing and it tasted kind of funny. I thought maybe me being 6 months pregnant it was my taste buds. So I had another. It was raw, undercooked and tasted as if it was 3 weeks old. The best part, hot food, flavorful and aromatic food. Vegetables are cooked to perfection. When I come here I order the General Tso's Chicken or the Chicken with garlic sauce. I have eaten at this takeout Chinese restaurant about monthly going on two years now. Food has always been delivered hot and fresh. Excellent quality at a very cheap price point. Almost half of their main dishes fall under six bucks. Nothing seems to be over $10. Egg drop soup is excellent. I have clocked the time and they have a three meal bag ready for me in under 10 minutes from the time I place an order. Low variance on prep time yields consistently fast and dependable service. Hours of operation are great so I can order late evening/early night and know they will be open. Good weekend hours to boot. Cons: I don't consider the food healthy enough to eat frequently. I don't see many options that are different than other American-Chinese restaurants of similar type. read more

I am owed a HUGE apology from their owner. I ordered on Yelp thinking, this is such an easy option for me since I am still in pain a week removed of having oral surgery and cannot drive due to pain meds. The delivery arrives earlier than scheduled which gives it a star and the order was correct which gives it another star. The delivery driver hands me the receipt to include tip and sign. I tell him I paid online which included the tip already so I wasn't going to include tip on the receipt again. But the two amounts didn't add up. There's a huge language barrier here might I mention. He began trying to tell me that I did not pay him that it was my bank company charging me. I said noooo I paid on yelp and tip was already included. He say no no no. I pulled up my online account and the charge for the food as well as with the tip and fees included. I showed him and he again said no. I looked again at the receipt and it was not the last four of my card number and was a MasterCard, not the Visa I paid with online. I also tried to tell him this wasn't even my receipt and he again said no and that he didn't know who charged me. I tried to tell him that it was possible his cashier gave him the wrong receipt. He called his manager whom I tried to explain all of this too. Again was told no and that I wasn't charged by them. He was seriously not giving me my food after I showed him the confirmation email, the charge on my card, and that the charge receipt he was trying to get me to sign was not even mine. He called his boss back and I guess re-explained everything and FINALLY! After 15 minutes, seriously I timed it, of arguing about this, I got my now luke warm food. AND!! Really, I like their food, but my most recent experience is what is leading me to NEVER eat there again. I order from there once a week for at least 5 people in my office. This last time, I ordered my food at 11:30, figuring it would be here in time for my lunch at 12:00. 12:00 came and went and I started to wonder where my food was (they have ALWAYS called me if it would take more than 15-20 minutes) I finally called them at 12:30 and asked if the driver had left yet, and the lady told me she was waiting for him to get back. I went to pick up the food and she still wanted to charge me for delivery, with no apology for being over an hour late at this point. I refused to pay until she took the charge off, then when I finally got back to the office, I realized that 2 out of our 4 orders were completely wrong! who gets Kung Pao shrimp mixed with orange chicken?! I called back and STILL no apology. These people just lost a LOT of business just for someone was too proud to apologize. Had they just called me to let me know it was late (like they have for the last year i've been ordering from there), I would have been fine. Plus, I'm a farm kid. I used to LOVE Hunan and go here regularly - haven't been now in awhile but ordered tonight and was beyond disappointed. Not only did it take 1.5 hrs to get a call about my delivery the guy (Jason) claimed he was here but needed directions - I tried to figure out what gate and he didn't know and hadn't looked at the map. I walked outside and walked around but there was no one. I called the main number and they kept telling me the driver would call me....he never did. I explained to the guy on the main number that although his driver claimed he was "driving around" he was not because the complex is a big circle. After another 45 minutes I told them to forget it and I would not be paying for my order as it was never delivered - the driver laughed at me and hung up and the person at the restaurant just said "oh geez" and chuckled. You know, I tend to order from this place like once a week, either me or my guy, but for the last two months the thought of it makes me kinda choke. I mean, I still wouldn't change my opinion about anything, except for one major problem for me that can be quite common...hair in food. I didn't want to be mean, but I feel like I got to say it, aout three or four months ago, we ordered from them and I had hair in my sesame chicken that looked like pubic hair...yes...gross....it was curly to wavy, and short when taken out to look at....gross, I was most likely probably sure it wasn;t, so I just dug out that area and ate the rest of my food. Then a week later and order again the food and all was fine, but then another week later, I had the orange chicken and shared this one with my son. Crap, are you serious? Another hair? Ughhhh.....and it looks like another pubic hair! I had to throw it away...The only one in the family who has that kind of hair is somewhere that wasn't exposed anytime near eating. And I was so disgusted because I shared this food with my son! I felt like vomiting. I'm sorry Hunan Takee Outee, I just had to do it. I work in the Texas Medical Center, and every once in a while I order delivery from Hunan for lunch. From the time I order to when it arrives averages about 45 minutes, which is not bad for busy weekday lunch hours. The food is only decent, but there is LOTS of it. For less than $6 there are a number of dishes you can get (the shrimp/seafood dishes are a little bit more). With the entrée, you have a choice of fried/white rice, a choice of eggrolls/wings, and a choice of hot and sour/egg drop/wonton soup - all included with the meal. I can eat quite a bit, and sometimes I can't finish all that food. Thus it's more about the quantity than the quality; this is not authentic Chinese food, so if you want that, you'll have to go to Chinatown. However it satiates my Chinese food cravings whenever it hits, and all for a really good price point. I am a little sensitive to MSG, and depending on the dish, I feel the effects (slight headache/dizziness), but to me it's part and parcel of the Chinese food experience. Also part and parcel of the Chinese food experience is the lady that takes your order over the phone. She's not exactly the most friendly, and can be abrupt and rude, but she's ruthlessly efficient and get's your order out pronto. When it's delivered, it's always still pretty warm, meaning that they make sure they don't deliver too many orders at once, allowing the food to get cold. What was memorable about this place was that the food was bland with no development of flavor. This seems like the common theme amongst the reviews here. The first time I was there I had lo mein and fried rice. The only flavor I could detect was soy sauce. Nothing else. The fried rice was no better. It seemed like they cooked this with old rice and with leftover burnt grease. The second time I was there I decided to dine in. I had the Mongolian beef lunch special. The Mongolian beef was nothing special. It came with a little fried chicken wing. Instead of an entire section of a wing, you only get a chopped up half of wing.
