I love this place ! I have been here twice and the food is amazing . On my first visit I ordered the French toast and I was impressed that it tasted homemade . Sausage and eggs cooked just right. Good, stick to your bones food! Great breakfasts and the staff is so friendly and attentive. We frequent this place often and I typically have an omelet, which comes with a choice of potatoes and toast. The omelet is large and cooked perfectly. We've also tried the biscuit and gravy, lunch sandwiches and some sides. All have been great. Don't waste your time going to Denny's down the street (it's not good), give Hungry Hollow your business, you won't regret it! read more

The breakfast here is pretty good. The French toast is thick and tasty. The eggs, potatoes, coffee, peach cobbler and tuna melt is good. The restaurant has a small, quaint, homie feel to it. It's like going to Nana's house for a nice, inexpensive, filling breakfast. The staff is nice and it is hidden. The sign on the outside just reads "Cafe". I wouldn't go out of my way to come eat here but I will come back when I am in town. read more

Couple of rule for eating at the Hungry Hollow. One come hungry the breakfast plates are large. Two get the biscuits especially if they just made them. Three get the coffee I don't know where they get it but it's good. And four enjoy all the interesting knick knacks on the walls. The extra star is simply for the servers, they were nice and I feel they deserve their credit for that. The food was AWEFUL though. I LOVE trying new places and pretty much try something different every week, and this has to land on top 5 WORST I've tried. I could go to Walmart and buy all these ingredients in boxes and cans. Their side of chips was LITERALLY Ruffles from the bag!!! It was only $.95 but it's the point! Why am I paying $40.00 on canned food?! Reminded me of having breakfast at my grandparents. Service was quick and friendly. The food came out moments after ordering, it definitely was hot and fresh and not left sitting under a heat lamp. The boss Richard does not like noise; definitely not a place to come with kids. I came in with my 2 kids : a 3 n 4 year old . . They are well behaved but from excitment squeal and talk a little louder as they try imitating a movie scene. Richard first came around and snatched a decor vase of our table which I thought to myself was understandable its glass and can break .. I continued to sit and with interest watch my boys play .. suddenly the Richard boss comes up from the back and literally full on, reaches from behind my younger son and snatches a butter knife and fork out of his hands... still in awe and a state of shock I told him to give the snatched tools back to my son . He begun to argue and tell me what my kids shud and should not play with ... my kids were not jumping. Were not running . Not touching anything but a butter knife and fork and copying a movie scene where a wolf is telling a bunny he would eat him..one son was pretending to be a bunny other a wolf .. my husband goes here quit often with his boss for breakfast which is why I thought I would check this place out ... he did mention the boss not being to friendly but I didnt expect this level ... i told Richard the kids were not loud to which he replied that he can hear them and he shouldn't hear them THEN he went for round 2 to successfully snatch the tools out my sons hands where thankfully a customer who has kids of his own came to my rescue.(so thankful to God for people like him and his wife..THANKYOU for existing) and told the boss he was being disrespectful that these r kids ... since this is a very small place ...everyone at this point was watching what was going on .. few other customers stated then that my kids were not disruptive and they hadn't even noticed they were in the room ... I ended up leaving the restraunt without even placing my order .. my heart is beyond thankful more then you will ever know to those that supported me . As for this place I will not be back . & those that make noise loud enough for Richard to hear , should probably not plan to come here . read more

I was here for breakfast this morning, and while they are only seating diners outside and at least attempting to social distance, several of the servers were not wearing their masks correctly, including ours. We asked why her nose was not covered, and she claimed that she was unable to breathe if both her nose and mouth were covered. Anyone who has done half a second of research knows that is a lie, and a ridiculous one. After looking through a window, I saw that the cooks were not wearing masks. At. ALL. I left and will never return. The rest of my party stayed despite the restaurant's disregard for their safety, but said the service was terrible. read more
