This used to be Max and Meme's restaurant. They opened a few months ago, temporarily shutdown to fix an AC issue, and now they're open and ready to serve with a smile. Our server was so kind as well was another employee that stopped by to chat with us. They offered suggestions and their fave menu items. My food was good. I really enjoyed the grits. My country fried steak was ok. I ordered rye toast but received multigrain. It was still delicious. I really wish they offered fountain sodas rather than cans at $2.99. Next time I would order coffee so I can get my caffeine fix. Also, I would prefer that they offered really butter instead of a butter/margarine blend. My last suggestion would be offering actual hot sauce mini bottles rather than a plastic cup of nondescript hot sauce. I have faith that this place will be great. They've already hired the best employees and service was great. There's just a few personal preferences I think the could add. Pay them a visit. read more

The Hungry Stork has been open for about two months. It has been remodeled and painted since the previous restaurant in its location. The wait staff are so friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is clean and the a/c is working. The bacon was perfectly cooked, the wheat toast and grape jelly were delicious, the eggs were very good. I did not care for the hash browns. They were not bad just not crispy enough for my taste. The coffee was hot but not a strong blend which I prefer. Our main server Savannah was so kind and efficient and the head server/ manager checked on us often during our breakfast. They both were amazing and kind. I think it was a good breakfast with a good price. I am sure to come back again to try some other items from the menu. read more

This great mama pop restaurant serves delicious breakfast and brunch that feels like home cooking the day I went the AC was out, but the staff had such a great attitude about it. The service alone will make a return, even though the food is great as well they said that AC was out for a few days so I will definitely come back once it's up and running again. The portions are hurting and well worth the price and taste fantastic plenty of parking as this is a standalone venue and it will be definitely someplace comparable to the other places like Sally's and Johnny's for breakfast. read more

The hungry stork was ok. They're new owners of this existing restaurant and trying to get established and I hope it goes well! We liked the mouse shaped pancakes for kids. They didn't have booster seats and the booths were kind of spaced weird. The staff was really nice but struggling. I hope to give it another go when they're more established. read more

Oh boy, first let me say I was expecting it to still be Max & Meme's cafe. I was surprised to see the floor plan had changed, and not really for the best. The odd light fixtures looked out of place and the tables and chairs were swapped from where the booths used to be. I was there on a Thursday around noon with only a few others in the dining room area. It appeared that many of our orders were mixed up and/or forgotten. The table near me didn't get their toast until they asked for it and I didn't get creamer for my coffee until the coffee was cold. The food was okay and the server, Jasmine was super sweet, but definitely needed some training. There was a lady sitting at a table with her child who seemed to be an owner, maybe. I saw no attempt to assist Jasmine, the only server on staff for the whole restaurant. Additionally, the AC was not really keeping the temp in the dining area comfortable. I hope to give them another try as I loved the location and it used to be a great spot for a quick and delicious breakfast. Hopefully they figure things out. The cauliflower bites were delicious with mild buffalo sauce and blue cheese dressing. The atmosphere is calm and relaxing. Not the place to go if you are in a rush. The service was great, the food served hot and delicious. Our waitress was attentive and they work as a team. read more

My son and I were looking for a new-to-us breakfast place. I didn't realize that it had changed from the old "Max and Meme's which I had passed many times on that particularly desolate stretch of 434. We had time on a Friday, mid-morning. There was a small staff there, which included a waitress, a cook and someone else in the kitchen. We ordered some typical breakfast fare (French toast, corned beef hash, eggs, pancakes, bacon) and it was served hot in a reasonable period of time. The quality was excellent. The cook even stopped by to see if we liked our meal, and we assured her we did. The pancakes were fluffy and the French toast had a nice vanilla fragrance as well as natural sweetness ('cause I like to eat it without syrup!) I am a fan of hash, and this was not greasy. Having read the few other reviews, I can see how if someone is in a hurry, they may feel like they are being ignored. I suspect it is because the restaurant is just figuring things out in terms of staffing. But since I eat out for the food, and fast service is secondary, I have no complaints. I will be happy to try another meal here, and I hope the restaurant will find success, despite the high cost of supplies. read more

Server disorganized when we arrived. All the booths had dirty dishes on them. Took forever to get drink order and then it was wrong. Asked for the right one and it never showed. Also took forever for the server to take our orders. Sat for a while. Called another server who showed up and asked for the drink and it came. Then waited for a good 30min for food to arrive while looking around restaurant full of people without food too. Finally showed and sausage was dry burned. Needed to go to restroom and one stall that was backed up. Bad experience. French toast was good. read more

The place was pretty.....but we got food poisoning. To begin there was no AC and it was really hot in the restaurant. There wasn't a lot of people but our meal took about 40 mins to come out. The server was really sweet but she kept forgetting or mixing us up with simple things between our table and the one behind us. We ordered the California Benedict and the Tex mix plate. The eggs on California Benedict were cooked perfectly but the English muffin was hard as a rock alongside the tomato within in it was not ripe and hard. The Tex mix plate was completely undercooked. The potatoes were hard, the chicken had no seasoning and was rubbery. We were very disappointed in the experience. read more

Zero stars, I don't know how this place stays in business??? The service was poor and the food was horrible. It took 30 minutes to get out meal, and it was cold. My husband got the chicken fried steak and they didn't even put the gravy on it. I ordered a tex mex plate and the chicken was the kind you buy in the bag at the grocery store, they didn't season it at all, nor did they even heat it up. It was supposed to come with a tortilla, but they brought me out cut up pieces of a half of a tortilla. I ordered a hot chocolate and asked for a water, got the food before I got a water. If I could give negative stars it would be -10. First the sign say please wait to be seated, 5 minutes later someone hands you the menus and tells you to sit wherever you want. 15 minutes later, you are asked what you want to drive, another 5 minutes you get your beverages and give your order. 35 minutes later you are told your meal is coming right out. 20 minutes later I told them to cancel my order. In all this time I had 1 glass of water. The grilled cheese my husband got took 40 minutes to get and it was mediocre. The service is atrocious and the dining area was hot, I don't think there was any air conditioning. They compted what we was delivered to our table, but I will not be back to give a second try. I believe any good reviews for this establishment are faked or done by the employees families to try and keep this business afloat. Whoever bought this place from Max and Meme should give it back. read more
