Terrible bartenders, uninviting atmosphere, and they upcharge drinks for a cheap bar owner. Wouldn't recommend this dive bar to anyone.

Under the category of "Dive Bar" this place is tops. Foods gross, when they are really busy don't order a coke or the bartenders will tell you to go f yourself. This place gets some good guitar players. It's tight when one comes to play. Why 4 stars, you ask. The mark of a good dive bar is picturing yourself at your drunkest most embarrassing moment... do you have that visual? Now picture an entire bar full of people in that state. The Hungry Tiger is exactly what it aspires to be, a dive bar with excellent music, a large bar, attractive and very good bar tenders, friendly waitresses and pretty good food. It does not try to be the cleanest place in the world, it does not try to be upscale and quite frankly you can't get everything in the world. As for the music, few places are able to succeed like the Tiger. The live music quality is absolutely amazing for this bar. From the outside and judging from the location it wouldn't be suspected, but venture in. Not only is the stage right near the bar, but the acts are amazingly talented and the bar is able to get in a great variety of different acts. I recently saw the Savage Brothers there before St. Patrick's day and it was an absolute treat. Everything is reasonably priced, the service was fast, the bartenders were very nice. I don't order anything complicated so I can't speak much beyond that. I did order a slew of appetizers and they were great. I had nachos, buffalo wings and garlic bread. everything was great. Overall, if you're a music lover who likes divey bars this place is great. As an added note the crowd usually is slightly older than one would expect at a dive bar, but not too old. read more

Pretty standard dive bar for the area. Came here on a Friday night when there was a decent live band playing. Not very crowded. Most shocking was the 7 dollar cover at the door. The music and beer were certainly not enough to justify this. On the upside our waitress was very friendly and attentive. read more

Dive bar, nice to know they host events. They make pub food but I never tried it. Looks almost like a townie bar. The bartender the night I came in was a sweetheart, and they seem to have daily price specials on drinks. read more

normally I love this place but last night.....first zero fruit, and out of several types of liquor. Then on top of that a bartender I personally haven't seen there before was rude when informing patrons of the lack of these services and just a poor attitude throughout the evening, my friend got the bill and paid then went to the vehicle to wait for me, then this "bartender" loudly addressed me about a tip ([tips] to insure proper service) and demanded to know why, I said well since your calling me out loudly as if your entitled to FREE money he wasn't pleased with the way you were speaking to him and ignoring him she replied "I'm just hearing excuses he can't afford it lol a comment coming from the bar that can't afford fruit and liquor well our bill Was $110.00 and for this establishment that's cheap and a tip would normally be included in the evenings pre planned tab but crappy service is crappy service and a bartender having a loud tantrum only insured no future tip not to mention I'm not sure bartenders pounding shots is a great professional choice not to mention Illegal read more

We have been to the hungry tiger several times. Each time was an enjoyable experience and the food was just ok. We recently went again in July after not going for almost 2 years. The place has gone very down hill. We went in the afternoon and us and some guy at the bar were the only ones in there. Very dirty. Rude staff. Flies everywhere. Food was barely warm. Fries were soggy. Ketchup was old and crusty at the top of the bottle. And we actually saw the owner when we were leaving, and he was also very rude to us when we told him he should get someone to take care of the fly problem. Never going back. read more

Things went from alright to bad pretty quickly. Went there for dinner, verrrrry limited seating, the only available seemed to be a room that was reserved for a reunion party--we ended up having to sit at the bar. Bartender was iffy to begin with and got worse and worse... Food quality was not the best-Ribs were a huge portion, but poor quality....Could barely get it off the bone. Burgers were def. not "the best in town" Night went really downhill when it was time for the check. Ended up waiting about 20-25 minutes total. Were ignored the first 15 then she said we would be the next she'd help... 3-4 more beers poured and 3 more checks taken care of and she finally totaled ours but didn't give it to us. She apologized for the wait and said she would be right back. Another 10 minutes later I was ready to drop some cash and scoot. At that point I think she realized our hostility building and finally took the bill up to get us change. She put through another customers tab first then ours and gave our change. We couldn't have left quicker. Don't get me wrong, I am a waitress and sympathetic to a bartender on a saturday night working alone, but enough was enough. Bottom line, probably won't be hungry enough to eat at the hungry tiger again. read more

I just enjoyed a sampler basket and was very pleased. It came with zucchini, mushrooms, and chicken strips all lightly fried in a crunchy non-greasy batter. Three different dipping sauces are included. Horseradish, honey mustard, and blue cheese. All for $8. Loren our waitress was a delight. read more

ordered a chicken burrito , suppose to have rice in it...no rice but mashed potatoes . was going to order fajitas but was told if I wanted lettuce and tomato with it would be 3 dollars more. seriously lol .food was disgusting, board of health should be called I was sick all night. worst food I have ever had in my life.! Went to Hungry Tiger last night. Not much ambiance. Got a Cheddar Burger. Thick, juicy, and very tasty. It was happy hour and they had pulled pork sliders. Terrible experience! I used to come here all the time for live music, so my husband and I decided to try it for dinner. While our server was very nice and apologetic, she was obviously stretched out thin as there was a live band playing and lots of people at the bar. Knowing this, we asked for the check and paid it/tipped her as soon as our food came out (which took almost an hour for a couple of appetizers and a sandwich). The food tasted awful. The potato salad seemed to have gone bad, the fries/chicken tenders were oily and slimy... Not something you want to put in your stomach regardless of how hungry you are! With that being said, we pretty much left the food untouched and decided to leave. Now HERE is what actually prompted this review... As we were leaving I saw a cook (who I have since read on here may be one of the owners) come out of the kitchen. Ten seconds later he opens the door and starts screaming at us in the parking lot that we're leaving without paying him for his food. If he had taken half a second to look at the table he would have seen the credit card receipt! We yelled right back, informing him of this fact and continued on our way. Unbelievable! Ick, this place is filthy, tiny, and unless you're a regular with a recognizable face, the bartender will ignore you completely. The women's bathroom is really weird, you have to walk through the first single bathroom to get to the single stall, so it's basically just one bathroom until some drunk chick just barges right in to stumble over to the other toilet. The bar area is small, crowded, and dirty. I've heard they have good live music, but I can't imagine where a band would find the space to set up, and I've also heard they charge a cover on those nights, and I wouldn't pay a cent for the privilege of hanging out in this pigsty. On Tuesday last week I made a reservation for the Jimi Bell Birthday Party show the following Friday., in order to celebrate my friend's birthday. When we arrived on Friday they told us there was no reservation and that there would be no table for us. This was very embarrasing to me and I would not ever return there. read more

Well for starters, it's a dive bar. So that has to be what you're looking for. We just moved to the area and had a groupon so we went to check it out. I'm only giving a 3 instead of 4 because we went to grab some food and there was no waitress on. We still ordered food from the bartender and just served ourselves, which wasn't bad. The bartender was manning the entire establishment with a band going, she was friendly and efficient. Our food came out and was tastier than I expected for a hole in the wall kind of bar. There was a band playing and it seemed like a lot of regulars were hanging out. Overall I liked the vibe for a chill Friday night. Nothing fancy. Prices aren't too bad either..$46 for an appetizer, two sandwiches with fries, and five beers. I have heard there can be a cover sometimes. This was not the case when we went, but I probably wouldn't be willing to pay a cover to get in. Maybe if it was like $3. read more

Dirty!! Glassed in dining area hasn't been renovated in over 20 years. Mismatched furniture, hanging plants (70's decor) hanging over your heads, dirty windows and floor. The kitchen looks dirty as does the grungy cook. The owner does a good business with the music venue and bar, and could certainly afford to update the dining area to be more presentable. Old pictures on the wall, ancient decor, and it needs a good cleaning. There is no excuse for this. I wouldn't eat there again when there are many clean restaurants to choose from with a nice updated decor. read more

Last month I went to see a "hippie" style jam band called Shakedown here. The staff at the door was unfriendly to the point of rudeness. Once you get past the doorman with the attitude you encounter a club that's WAY too small to host a popular live band and locals at the bar who look like they've been invaded by aliens. The whole atmosphere was uptight. I met the owner but didn't have time to speak to him, he is a music lover I'm sure, but has failed to create a welcoming atmosphere.
