Today I ordered the Quesadilla with chicken and also received a mystery sauce. I was thinking that I should have requested Pico or salsa but also thought " it's a quesadilla, of course it's going to come with one or the other. But it instead came with a brownish colored mystery sauce. The quesadilla wasn't bad but the appropriate condiments would have kicked it up notch. I would go back to try something else but never a quesadilla again.

This is a cool bar where locals and tourists mingle. They have a nice selection of draft beers with a lot of local stuff of course.

We popped in here after seeing the 1891 established date and the quiet laid back atmosphere. We sat at the bar and got prompt service to order some local brews. I got the Tigers Blood from 49th state brewing that was on tap. This was truly a piña colada as a beer and it was delcioous. We ordered some fries and tater tots from the food service bar, both of which were great. Relaxed nice stop to wrap up our time in Juneau.

Kool joint in Juneau, Alaska. It's double sided. You can enter through 1 of two doors. One door will take you into the Bar. There is a wall but the wall ends in about 20 feet. on the otherside of the wall you can walk up and order food and sit and eat. There is also a door you can enter from, it's right next to the Bar entrance. They have a pool table as well. They will bring your food to the Bar or wherever you are sitting. The Tacos were decent. The Buttery Nipple that the bartender made was bomb.

This might be what you're looking for if you're looking for a wrap, burger, or just something hot. Service has always been good with every visit. This is one of the few places downtown with a pool table. The lighting is poor but if you want to just sit and have something as simple as chicken tenders then this is the place for you. My tenders were the average out of the freezer bag BUT they were fried in clean oil and the chicken was cooked perfectly.

Just a cool place to grab a beer! Bartenders are just amazing and wicked friendly. Good mix of locals and tourists. Definitely stop here every time I am in Juneau. Support local!!!!

Oh my, oh my - the owner (Shelly) of this establishment is the prime example of what an exceptional shopkeeper should emulate! Shelly truly has it going on - she is friendly, knows her products and is kindly accommodating! The Imperial serves (much more than) tasty fun food - make sure to give it a try! Thank you!

Great hole in the wall to watch football with a good selection of local draught beers. The bartender wasn't very friendly, but she was at least attentive.

I went to this spot for my birthday. Not because I wanted to, but because we got into Juneau "late". And, like most of a Alaska, food options are almost non-existent in Juneau after 10pm. I walked in, saw the menu items and thought "alight, this is the classic 'anything we can make with a freezer and a frier' food" you find all over rural Alaska. Expectations set to: low. I am happy to report that I could not be more wrong! Despite the menu items all looking generic and plain, there is a lot of character here! I got a crunch wrap and it tasted exactly how my friends that love Taco Bell describe Taco Bell...I say describe because Taco Bell is very bland food to me, it's not even good in a 'guilty pleasure' way...it's just...plain. My partner got the burger, which looked amazing! Service and process were also spot-on. And, of course, this place is also a bar so you can drink while you wait!

We really enjoyed Imperial Bar. Most tourists went to the Red Dog because it seems like the place to go since I suppose it's closest to the port perhaps? But me and my wife like to dig in and go have a brew with the locals. That's what the Imperial is. A little off the beaten path but gives you a great taste of a local Alaskan bar. Red Dog might as well have been an Applebees. Great ambiance and service.

    Long bar counter

Place was empty but the bartender was cranky and preferred to spend her time at one end of the bar. The guy at the food counter was friendly.

We were hungry for "something" but not a meal, per se. Asking around, we were directed to Imperial Grill. Very happy to find it. Yes, the bar had everything, and we did have some hard cider, but paid for the bar items at the bar, with the food vendor running a separate register. The grill menu is great. Look at it. Baskets ($8 - 10) of fries, chicken tenders, jalapeno poppers. An after school special ($2.75) is mozzarella, bacon and jalapenos fried in an egg roll wrapper with sriracha sour cream. Go for it! Mexican flair ($5 - 16) with burritos, enchiladas, quesadillas, nachos and taquitos. Also an array of tacos ($2.75 - 6). Sandwiches and burgers ($~8) looked good. The ship was the epitome of modern luxury and the port cities catered to all the tourists needs. But at some point, I needed to get a little down and dirty, to get away from the crowds of visitors. To me, Alaska is still frontier, and I needed to experience just a taste of it. From the recommendation of a grizzled cruise staff, my wife & I found ourselves at the Alaskan Hotel and Bar, enjoying a pint and taking in small piece of history. While a few tourists did wander in, most of the patrons seemed local and knew each other and the staff. We watched from the far end of the bar and soaked in the atmosphere while enjoying our beers. Though there was a single acoustic guitarist playing from the stage, the bar was mostly still and quiet, a welcome respite from the throngs of outsiders on the street, veering in and out of the jewelry stores and tacky souvenir shops. Both of us needed this time to recharge, to enjoy a different side of Alaska than we'd seen, to be around normal people again. Does this bar have all the amenities? Are fancy cocktails the standard fair? Is the furniture new? All those answers are no. But the drinks are strong and the bathrooms are clean. And for a tired tourist, this is the most welcome sight.

The convenience of the location simply does not outweigh the poor hospitality and lack of customer care we experienced. I normally enjoy supporting small independent businesses like this one, but this stay has made me seriously rethink where I choose to spend my money going forward. Having stayed in both luxury hotels and unique properties with character, I know that basic professionalism and genuine guest care should be standard regardless of price or style. Disliked · Upon our arrival to this property we made our way to our room only to discover it was not the Family Loft with two queen beds we had specifically booked. Instead, we were given a room with one queen bed and a pull-out couch. When I returned to the front desk, I was told the booked room was occupied by a long-term tenant and unavailable. While I understand availability issues can arise, the hotel had been in direct contact with me through the booking platform's messaging system prior to our arrival and never mentioned this problem. It appeared they chose not to inform us, likely to prevent us from canceling. The pull-out couch was in poor condition, making it impossible for our adult family member to get a decent night's sleep. The queen bed was also uncomfortable, with our feet elevated in an awkward position. The window was broken and OPEN at least 2 inches. We did not expect a luxury resort, but we did expect the room type we reserved. Most concerning was the staff's response. Rather than showing empathy or offering solutions, they became defensive, blaming the booking company and stating the room had been unavailable for weeks. Since I booked December 6th, this lack of notification wasted our time and created unnecessary inconvenience. I politely requested compensation for just one night due to the inconvenience, which I believe was more than reasonable. Unfortunately, the hotel made no effort to resolve the situation or make things right despite my several follow-ups. Prospective guests should be aware: while the location may seem convenient, the poor communication, room inaccuracies, and indifferent customer service made this a frustrating experience we would not repeat. To make matters worse, the hotel was crazy loud until 3am due to the bar adjacent to the property, making rest nearly impossible. We will be visiting Juneau several times a year in the coming years with August 2026 being our next stay, sadly we cannot support this small business.
