This place was recommended by the Visitor Center as a perhaps not so busy pub for a drink and food, other than the ones by the cruise ships. We only had a few hours, so I'm glad we came here. Very quiet other than some locals having a drink. We ordered food from their simple menu - got some good, big burgers and a beer. Super friendly food stuff and a great bartender as well. Overall, just a nice relaxed vibe to the place. Also read on the wall it's Juneau's oldest bar (or something like that) so there's some history as well. Good place to stop by for sure in central Juneau. Free wifi was a plus, though it was fairly slow. read more

I wish I could give it zero stars. I've been in here 4 times, 3 of those times it took close to an hour to get a drink. Waitresses and bar tenders routinely look at you and then serve people that show up to the bar after you. Sad thing is I make around 85K/year, live here year-round, and tip extremely well and they have lost my business for the next 4 years PERMANENTLY. I recommend the Viking or Triangle. read more

Once off the cruise ship we wondered into this pretty good place to visit, with local flavor. Cook was friendly and the local beer was great. Probably other good places to eat, but we went local for this stop and no regrets. Come here, get out of the cold rain, drink some great local brew and I hear the cook might start making some Jamaican dishes soon! read more

Just like the description says, the Imperial Saloon was A-OK. I can't comment on food, since we only stopped in for drinks. The bar is easy to find and the decor is cool with the old-fashioned safe, signs, and big boars head. The bartender was fine -- no complaints but nothing to shout from the rooftops about either. We had three Alaskan Brewery beers which were about $5 each I think. Not totally unreasonable but not a steal either. I don't think there were any specials being offered. After about 20 minutes the bartender brought us some free popcorn which I couldn't stop eating...don't know if it was delicious or if that's just par for the course with free popcorn. Bathroom was clean. The menu looked good. I would return if invited but I wouldn't call the experience memorable. read more

This is my typical go to spot for a Friday night I'm juneau as is for most 21+ as well. This bar features trivia nights, karaoke (I think) and lots of dancing on the weekends. It is a spacious venue and also has pool tables. They also have a kitchen where you can order some pretty good bar food. I'd highly recommend trying their super tots after a few rounds of Alaskan beers. I would have given this location 5 stars but due to their occasionally fowl customer service from the bartenders and often being out of featured beers on tap I am giving it 3. All and I'll I would recommend a stop at this location for a night out in downtown Juneau. read more

Atmosphere is fun, decent beer choices. No deals, but didn't stop in for a deal. Just wanted a couple beers. Couldn't get past one beer, because perhaps the worlds least attentive bartender was working. No personality, didn't check in, sat there for 15 mins with an empty glass and money on the bar just waiting. Keep walking past this joint. I was here for just over 24 hrs and the food was good enough for the late night grubbing that I needed. Had the meatloaf and the turkey sandwiches of which the Turkey stole the show. Deliciously smoked and tasty as hell. I'll be back, albeit not for the food alone. Great service guys!! read more

When it comes to Night Life in Juneau this is the Best option. There is rarely a dull Friday and Saturday night here. What also separates this place from everywhere else is the kitchen that closes when the bar closes. It's in the Imperial, but called Front Street Cafe. The menu includes burgers, tots, onion rings, fries, smoked turkey or meatloaf sandwiches. They have a decent sized dance floor and the DJ's are satisfactory. Everybody dances here (especially the weekend) and loves to drink. On the weekdays you can shoot darts, play pool, or a game of ping pong. read more

If you're not from here, don't expect to be served before a stranger. If you want a strong poor amongst the working class, come in. Check your ego at the door. Place has been here for 100+ years. This is how locals live. Don't ask how far above sea level you are or the wifi password without getting to know people, if you are looking for authenticity. Otherwise, good luck. We were a family of 6 visiting Juneau for a couple of weeks this month and appreciated not feeling just like some more tourists taking up bar stools . We had a blast at the Imperial and will recommend it over and over! On a side note- we experienced a pretty lousy, rude woman bartender here earlier that day... Thankfully Josh's exceptional service overshadowed this woman and her poor customer service and attitude. read more

This is generally the bar that college kids go to even though it's downtown with every other bar. People who want a dancefloor and current music should go here. Drama rarely happens here but it does take forever to get a drink on a busy night- usually only 1 or 2 bartenders. read more

Walked in on a Sunday afternoon when there were four cruise ships in port. It was almost busy. I ordered a pepperoni pizza slice from the Raven Pizza inside and ordered a beer. All employees were friendly and the service was prompt. The pizza was good and the beer cold. They don't offer any bigger than a 16oz glass, but it was good nonetheless. They also offer free wi-fi. Just ask the bartender for the passcode. Having just come from the East Bay near San Fran, the place is not bad at all. It's got some character. I'll definitely be back to check out the night life. What it is not: a hipster, upscale bar with post modern decoration. In my opinion, as mere observation, the quality of the crowd is probably determined by what cruise ship is in. The BEST place to dance on friday and saturday nights. Mostly between midnight and bar close (2:30). To be fair, its hard to get drinks fast on weekend nights, but the Imperial is the place to be for the 20-something "lets dance all night" crowd. Best advice? Drink at other bars (Hanger, Rendezvous, Alaskan) and then show up here at midnight. read more
