Came here for a late lunch while on a cruise port day. Friendly employees and delicious food. The clam chowder was delicious, as were the twisted halibut tacos. Now I generally don't eat fried food, but the coconut salmon strips and dipping sauce was so so good. Nice patio outside, but not a patio day lol

Twisted fish was highly recommended by a lot of people that were on the cruise with us. We stopped in before getting back on the cruise as it was on the way back to ship. We arrived about an hour before closing to try the crab and clam chowder, when we arrived it wasn't extremely busy but then a large group and some smaller parties came in, due to that I think that changed the service. We waited for about 20 minutes for a server to come to our table so we can order but they never did so we had to call someone over. We got 1 pound of crab and a bowl of clam chowder and in our honest opinion it was just okay, so we were pretty disappointed. If we do happen to stop by next time we'll try something else to see if some of the other menu items are better.

The food was good! Our server Diane was awesome! She was fast and efficient. We just walked in since Tracy's had a long line. We ordered halibut n chips, cup of clam chowder, crab cakes and some garlic knots. The ambiance was a little loud since it was also packed. The price here is definitely more affordable than Tracy's. The food also came out fast which was great since we were short on time.

Located in the cruise ship port in Juneau this is a far less crowded crab and seafood restaurant that offers equally good alternative at comparable prices to Tracy's. We had no line either! A friend recommended this restaurant as did our musher from the dog camp . We enjoyed the Alaskan Red king crab and were thrilled with the amount of food. You should budget this into your trip at about $99lb for these crab legs it's a hearty serving. We ordered 3 lbs ( see picture) the clam chowder is very rich and creamy ( delicious) around $8 a cup and fries we ordered a side of. Coleslaw and other sides are also sold separately.

From the moment we arrived our experience was great. Host was amiable and our waitress was great. Oh my! The clam chowder was excellent followed by the halibut fish and chips. I prefer a smaller fry but these were fried well and were cute, and twisted. The halibut had the right amount of batter and neither the fish or chips were greasy. When in Juneau again I would go back.

Since our cruise ship was not leaving until late, I wanted to have dinner in town before boarding. Just like in Ketchikan, we are just a stone throw away from the ships, but I wanted to eat and support local. I was lucky enough to have Alaskan king crab legs last year when I traveled Alaska by land so that was not on my must eat this year. King salmon that I fell in love with last year was though, so when I saw Twisted Fish had it and some of their fishes were accompanied by local rhubarb and blueberry chutney, I was sold as I am all about eating local. Unfortunately, grilling the king salmon dried it out so it did not have that beautiful buttery texture that makes King salmon special. Sadly I felt the king salmon I roasted at home was closer to what I had in Anchorage last year than this one. Even though the twisted fish plate only had Taku Salmon, I found the halibut in that one was much better and wish I went with a full order of halibut instead, especially since that came with the local rhubarb and blueberry chutney.

    My amazing dish

Food was spectacular. I will say as a local the crab price was a bit crazy to me but I do realize that during this season it typically is high everywhere. Our service was fantastic.

    Halibut bites with chips.

Food and services top notch. Halibut bites with chips so good. Fresh and local. Halibut fish sandwich was awesome with coleslaw great as well. Would recommend. Expect Alaska pricing. My husband said clam chowder good as well.

Cruisers! Get off the boat and eat LOCAL!!! This is the place. This is your sign. Get the king crab by the pound, (1lb was enough for 4 of us to sample) the halibut burger and the halibut tacos. When else can you get local king crab?? So succulent! And the halibut was melt in the mouth good. They are quite busy so call ahead and reserve, especially if you are a large party. They are only open in late Spring through the summer. Then that's it for another season. Note: if you like your clam chowder chunky this might not be the place to order it.

5 star for a tourist town seems amazing to me! And it is close to the cruise ship docks and it was $25. Yes, they were that good. It was a huge portion of salmon in each taco and I now understand what happens to food when it has to travel far distances. It is not salmon season so it was certainly not fresh today or this week, but it was amazing. The only downside was I could not get one halibut and one salmon taco. I know that meals are all included on the cruise ship, but this is worth a splurge.

Crab cakes and Garlic Twisters, so good! I couldn't snap a photo fast enough before the family started eating.

We were so glad we stopped by this restaurant during our Juneau stop. We were hoping to get a good taste of various fish and wow, we were not disappointed! The crab cakes were the best I've had. The garlic twisters were delectable. We also tried the sliders with halibut, the fish sandwich, and a basket of codfish. All delicious.

Food was delicious! Hot and quick. The service was okay initially attentive then became overly attentive to the point of feeling uncomfortable being there. The restaurant was not packed. And the restaurant was a nice decor, near the water with lots of window seats.

The service was promp and she checked on us a lot. The twisted garlic rolls were absolutely delicious. The crab dip was just ok. It had plenty of meat but it seemed like something was missing. The cod and curly fries were good as well. The atmosphere was casual. I would definitely go back. I also had the Tipsy French margarita and that was good.

The halibut tacos tasted fresh, but the beans and rice on the side were a bit underwhelming and could use some improvement. The service was quick, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. We ordered 1 lb of king crab, the halibut fish tacos, and I paired my meal with an Alaskan Amber beer. Everything we came for was excellent. The king crab was fresh, sweet, and cooked perfectly. The halibut tacos were flavorful, with generous portions of fish, and the Alaskan Amber was the perfect local beer to go with the meal. The beans and rice that came with the tacos, however, were just okay. I didn't have high expectations for the sides, and they were pretty forgettable compared to the quality of the seafood. One thing that surprised us was how busy the restaurant was. It's a bit of a walk down the wharf, so I expected smaller crowds, but the place was packed. Despite arriving around 8:40 p.m., well past the peak dinner rush, we were seated without any issues. Even though they were still serving a full restaurant with other parties waiting, we never felt rushed, which we really appreciated. If you're in Juneau and craving fresh seafood, I'd definitely recommend making the walk. The king crab and halibut are absolutely worth it.

These tasty bites reminded me of homemade hamburger patties with their uneven edges cracking under each bit. Again. Good stuff. On my last visit, I tried the famous loaded tater tots. The ship was the epitome of modern luxury and the port cities catered to all the tourists needs. But at some point, I needed to get a little down and dirty, to get away from the crowds of visitors. To me, Alaska is still frontier, and I needed to experience just a taste of it. From the recommendation of a grizzled cruise staff, my wife & I found ourselves at the Alaskan Hotel and Bar, enjoying a pint and taking in small piece of history. While a few tourists did wander in, most of the patrons seemed local and knew each other and the staff. We watched from the far end of the bar and soaked in the atmosphere while enjoying our beers. Though there was a single acoustic guitarist playing from the stage, the bar was mostly still and quiet, a welcome respite from the throngs of outsiders on the street, veering in and out of the jewelry stores and tacky souvenir shops. Both of us needed this time to recharge, to enjoy a different side of Alaska than we'd seen, to be around normal people again. Does this bar have all the amenities? Are fancy cocktails the standard fair? Is the furniture new? All those answers are no. But the drinks are strong and the bathrooms are clean. And for a tired tourist, this is the most welcome sight.

The convenience of the location simply does not outweigh the poor hospitality and lack of customer care we experienced. I normally enjoy supporting small independent businesses like this one, but this stay has made me seriously rethink where I choose to spend my money going forward. Having stayed in both luxury hotels and unique properties with character, I know that basic professionalism and genuine guest care should be standard regardless of price or style. Disliked · Upon our arrival to this property we made our way to our room only to discover it was not the Family Loft with two queen beds we had specifically booked. Instead, we were given a room with one queen bed and a pull-out couch. When I returned to the front desk, I was told the booked room was occupied by a long-term tenant and unavailable. While I understand availability issues can arise, the hotel had been in direct contact with me through the booking platform's messaging system prior to our arrival and never mentioned this problem. It appeared they chose not to inform us, likely to prevent us from canceling. The pull-out couch was in poor condition, making it impossible for our adult family member to get a decent night's sleep. The queen bed was also uncomfortable, with our feet elevated in an awkward position. The window was broken and OPEN at least 2 inches. We did not expect a luxury resort, but we did expect the room type we reserved. Most concerning was the staff's response. Rather than showing empathy or offering solutions, they became defensive, blaming the booking company and stating the room had been unavailable for weeks. Since I booked December 6th, this lack of notification wasted our time and created unnecessary inconvenience. I politely requested compensation for just one night due to the inconvenience, which I believe was more than reasonable. Unfortunately, the hotel made no effort to resolve the situation or make things right despite my several follow-ups. Prospective guests should be aware: while the location may seem convenient, the poor communication, room inaccuracies, and indifferent customer service made this a frustrating experience we would not repeat. To make matters worse, the hotel was crazy loud until 3am due to the bar adjacent to the property, making rest nearly impossible. We will be visiting Juneau several times a year in the coming years with August 2026 being our next stay, sadly we cannot support this small business.
