The food was outstanding, the portions were generous, and there was no wait. I had the grilled salmon Caesar salad, and the salmon was honestly some of the best I've ever had--perfectly cooked, flavorful, and a generous portion. Looking for a great place to eat in Juneau, Twisted Fish Company is it! They have the best Halibut and Chips and I really like their coleslaw. Our server David was excellent and the service was fast. Located in the cruise ship port in Juneau this is a far less crowded crab and seafood restaurant that offers equally good alternative at comparable prices to Tracy's. We had no line either! A friend recommended this restaurant as did our musher from the dog camp . We enjoyed the Alaskan Red king crab and were thrilled with the amount of food. You should budget this into your trip at about $99lb for these crab legs it's a hearty serving. We ordered 3 lbs ( see picture) the clam chowder is very rich and creamy ( delicious) around $8 a cup and fries we ordered a side of. Coleslaw and other sides are also sold separately. read more

Since our cruise ship was not leaving until late, I wanted to have dinner in town before boarding. Just like in Ketchikan, we are just a stone throw away from the ships, but I wanted to eat and support local. I was lucky enough to have Alaskan king crab legs last year when I traveled Alaska by land so that was not on my must eat this year. King salmon that I fell in love with last year was though, so when I saw Twisted Fish had it and some of their fishes were accompanied by local rhubarb and blueberry chutney, I was sold as I am all about eating local. Unfortunately, grilling the king salmon dried it out so it did not have that beautiful buttery texture that makes King salmon special. Sadly I felt the king salmon I roasted at home was closer to what I had in Anchorage last year than this one. Even though the twisted fish plate only had Taku Salmon, I found the halibut in that one was much better and wish I went with a full order of halibut instead, especially since that came with the local rhubarb and blueberry chutney. read more

Another disappointing experience. Coconut crusted salmon bites were overcooked and tasted awful. Had a chemical taste to them. I ordered the black cod piccata with a side Cesar salad. I got a dinner salad with Cesar dressing, but figured it would get better. It didn't. The piccata sauce has so much starch added it was almost lemon jello. The cod itself was poorly prepared and the asparagus, that I specially asked not to be included, was cooked to mush. I don't know why I keep going back. If it weren't for the unsuspecting cruise ship passengers this place would go under. If you're a local, expected to be treated like a tourist. read more

Cruisers! Get off the boat and eat LOCAL!!! This is the place. This is your sign. Get the king crab by the pound, (1lb was enough for 4 of us to sample) the halibut burger and the halibut tacos. When else can you get local king crab?? So succulent! And the halibut was melt in the mouth good. They are quite busy so call ahead and reserve, especially if you are a large party. 5 star for a tourist town seems amazing to me! And it is close to the cruise ship docks and it was $25. Yes, they were that good. It was a huge portion of salmon in each taco and I now understand what happens to food when it has to travel far distances. It is not salmon season so it was certainly not fresh today or this week, but it was amazing. The only downside was I could not get one halibut and one salmon taco. We stopped by because the area was a little less crowded - Early dinner / late lunch. If you get a window seat it won't matter if there is a giant cruise ship blacking the view, which there was. We got a table for eight after a brief wait. Our lovely waitress explained the menu items. Four couples each ordered 1 pound red King Crab. Sweet delicious and properly prepared We also had clam chowder which was very good. We also had a side caesar salad which was excellent. We added another couple in the middle of dinner and the staff took it in-stride and delivered those dishes quickly without complaint. Other diners we talked to raved about the halibut. The prices appeared reasonable for the quality of the food and the service from Bella. We stopped here for a quick bite before having to board our cruise ship. The wait staff were super helpful and friendly. I ordered the Halibut Fish and Chips based off recommendation of the waiter. The halibut was massive and delicious. They forgot to give me 4 pieces because I ordered a kids portion for my kids. They apologizes and brought out the two remaining pieces. So there are 4 pieces in the dinner entree and there is 2 pieces in the kids entree. All in all, the seafood was fresh and delicious. Definitely recommend this place as it is super close to the port where all the cruise ships dock. You might have to careful during the busy times if there are other cruise ships in town. read more

Every time in Juneau, we always make a stop here. Our first visit was over 20 years ago, and we fell in love with the place, and just love their clam chowder. over the years and our visit we noticed that the experience has definitely changed. We no longer have to wait for a table, as it is mostly empty this year. The staff that waited on us was absolutely wonderful! A couple in from So Africa for the summer months, they shared a bit off their time in Juneau with us. The service is always top notch, our glasses topped off, friendly smiles, great service. Happy to report the clam chowder still amazes. The fish and chips are crispy, the batter light and keeps its crunch when doused in malt vinegar or dipped in tartar sauce. I branched out and had an adult lavender lemonade...ok I had two! The bartender had some creative cocktails on the menu, did not disappoint. I so wanted to love this place. We had reservations and were seated pretty quick. But after that, it went downhill. I will preface this with saying the food was really good, but I have to base it on the whole experience. The service at our table was not that great. Our server kept coming and going from our table and finally took all the orders, but did it in three different times. People were sitting down and ordering their food and we were still trying to get all of us ordered. We had seven people. Our server just seemed to be disoriented, I know he was definitely busy. He was running around, but there was just no organization. We had to flag him down for refills on drinks. There was a solid 15 minutes between the first person in our group ordering, and the last person in our group ordering. By the time the last group ordered, he came back to inform us that there was no more king crab legs for the last group that ordered at our table. However, the first group that ordered was still going to get theirs. Eventually, we get some refills on drinks and then the food starts coming. The food came out as disjointed as the order went in. When it was all said and done, there was still no appearance of king crab legs. When our waiter finally came back by to offer us dessert, we asked about the crab. He then appears five minutes later with two king crab legs, it did not look like a pound. The worst part was, he offered the other people on our group if they wanted to order some because they got some more in. I understand these things happen in a coastal area when fresh seafood is delivered at different times, but it was never mentioned until after we asked about the original order that was supposed to be there. Now that being said, I heard the table next to us complement their server on being one of the best experiences they ever had. I looked at their table and they had to have at least 7 pounds of crab legs. Their waiter was at their table repeatedly. Getting bar orders, refilling drinks, checking on their food, delivering their food. All different people brought our food out, so we could not ask our waiter questions except for the occasional showing. So for the food; it was definitely good although the boys were not impressed with the fish and chips. The twisted fish was excellent as was the puff pastry salmon. I do like the inside of the restaurant having the open kitchen and the ambience of that .... with a different ordering and food delivery experience this could've been a five. Considering how long we were there and how disjointed everything was I could've also gave them a one. So I figured a three was a compromise. If you get a good organized waiter or waitress, you will have a really good experience. read more

This place deserves 5-stars for the seafood. Ignore the other reviews or anything about service. They have the best chowders in town. Sampler platter of fish is excellent. Between our group we tasted 1/3 the menu. Tacos are excellent, fish and chips were good, blackened salmon is mouthwatering even the salads are great. They have great drinks and their local ambers are refreshing after a day of fishing. Walk it off with a stroll thru downtown. Cool decorations and we never had a problem with tables or orders.
