Inside Scoop's a small roadside stand, with outdoor picnic tables to sit (nowhere to sit indoors), and parking is limited so can be a little bit of a pain during peak summer season, but oh, the ice cream is excellent and worth the hassle! Root beer floats, shakes, ice cream sodas, sugar or waffle cones, or just in a cup with as many (very generous) scoops as you desire. Usually, we just get the single scoop because higher scoop counts are simply too gluttonous for us. A small is roughly a scoop and a half (get two flavors!) but plenty of calories so good enough serving size for anyone but a tad expensive. Hard ice creams we tried: Chocolate Coconut Almond was nice, as were the Pistachio, and Coffee Oreo. Kicked up coffee in that last one. Since my first review two years ago, I've visited more and more often. The waffle cones are still amazing and every flavor I've tried is delicious. I have an ice cream problem. I think I've been to The Inside Scoop three times just in the past month. Their homemade ice cream is delicious- so far my favorite flavor is peanut butter Oreo. I'm embarrassed to admit that I had never had a waffle cone until I tried one on impulse here. It was SO GOOD. Growing up, TIS was a treat to come to. Living in Portsmouth, it was a rare occasion to come here, but when we did, it was something we talked about for months after. My childhood memories placed it in downtown Wickford, so when I went today and saw it next to a gas station some of my memories were crushed. As well as my tastebuds. Their ice cream is homemade, and huge points for that. However, the two flavors i had lacked a poignant taste, and didn't elicit the feelings that I used to get as a child.. The ice cream is very good but doesn't make up for the horrible service. Girls are rude and if you order five different flavors, your going to get five different amounts. Their ice cream Is the best in town and the service has been better. Just be sure to check the sizes before you order. A small is more like a baby size. The medium is more like a small. I've been vegan for almost 7 years and can honestly say this place has the best vegan ice cream I've ever had. In the past, I've never liked anything besides chocolate-based ice cream, but they were friendly enough to offer a few samples of the different available vegan options. I ended up taking home a pint of the BR chip and Chocolate chip ice cream. I've also tried the vegan Coffee oreo and Chocolate coconut almond and delicious is an understatement. The staff and owners are extremely friendly, the service is awesome, and taking the trip from Attleboro, MA is absolutely worth it. Nothing special. We tried this place for the first time on the way home from the beach The ice cream was average at best. Nothing you couldn't get from the supermarket. I would have given this place 3 stars but I had to peg them a star for the service. The two young ladies working there just seemed miserable. I've driven by this place so many times over the years, and finally stopped last week when I was craving ice cream after browsing Wickford Village. I got there right at 12, didn't even realize they'd just opened for the day, but it was a great time to go, there was no line and I was able to take my time looking at the menu outside and made my decision, then I went in and saw the list of special flavors on the wall and there went my decision so ended up going with half peanut butter cup and half peanut butter cookie dough. Both were awesome! Customer service was fast and friendly, prices were about the same as other homemade ice cream places, portions were a little smaller, but I couldn't finish it anyway so I'm not complaining!! Shop was cute and nice and clean. Will definitely be back to try some of the other flavors! read more

This was my first time here. Lots of choices so I went with the Purple Penguin which was black raspberry ice cream with white and milk chocolate chips. A friend had Coffee Chocolate Chip. I loved this place. It was tiny and personal, and they had really crazy flavor combinations. Not bad. Not Brickleys. I wasn't thrilled with my visit. I remember when this place was Brickleys. It was just as tiny. But there was an organized line and less confusion. When I walked in there was a whole mess of people standing/blocking the center of the shop. We were served by two different girls. I won't complain- they were keeping the "line" moving. One credit card machine didn't work so I had to keep my 3 year old off to the side and out of the way while her father had to wade to the center of the mob to pay. Meanwhile the ice cream is melting into soup. The ice cream itself wasn't bad, but I didn't get that nostalgic summery feel of good homemade ice cream. Maybe it was what I ordered. I tried a special- "sea salt caramel with chocolate chunks" all I got was sea salt caramel. It definitely tasted like sea salt caramel but I really wanted chocolate chunks . Really really good ice cream with lots of flavors and options! I walked from the center of Wickford, which was way worth it for better ice cream options (the walk had nice tree covered sidewalks the whole way). My husband was super excited for and happy with his affogato (coffee poured over ice cream - he chose ginger). I loved the peach ice cream, was super fresh and didn't have any artificial after taste. Smalls are reasonable size, not the massive ones I'm used to, but let you choose two flavors. Staff was very quick to welcome and serve you, they were very efficient moving parties along. I've been going to this place my whole life and LOVE it! By far the best place in North Kingstown. All flavors are homemade and delicious! The shop that all Wickford loves! We have watched the 4-of-July fireworks from there twice and the view and the ice cream is heavenly. We love the homemade chocolate-dipped waffle cones and the portions are huge. They carry a good selection of frozen yogurt flavors and also a sugar free flavor. All very good. I have always loved Brickley's ice cream but don't always want to drive all the way down to get some. My in-laws live right around the corner from The Inside Scoop and in the 10 years my husband and I have been together I have never stopped here. I always wanted to take the drive to Brickley's. Well this past weekend we were already in NK and I had a craving for some cake batter ice cream, I finally took my husbands advice and tried their ice cream. It was pretty damn good, exactly what I has craving and I loved the colored sprinkles mixed in, like a cool and creamy funfetti!! I did think it was a little pricey for a small cone, but the ice cream was so rich that I was certainly satisfied. Before I ordered I also sampled a flavor called Purple Penguin and I do believe I will be returning to get a whole cone of that stuff too! Mmm mmm read more
