My family and I just finished trying the pre-packed half gallon of sea salt caramel ice cream. It was the perfect blend of caramel and sea salt, with a creamy finish to it. Ice cream was great - I had a coffee scoop in a waffle cone. Waffle cones are made right there and they are tasty! Staff was nice but they were a little chatty with each other (teens) to the detriment of the customer. Great seating inside and bench seating on sidewalk in front. The only down side +++ $4.80 for a kid's scoop in a waffle cone ++++ booooo! Me and three kids cost $20 for ice cream! :( read more

We often stop here for homemade ice cream on the way back from the beach. The ice cream is usually good though the Bing Cherry I had the other day tasted a little stale. The outdoor area with picnic tables is nice and clean. There isn't much room for parking which probably explains the messed up lot. I love love love Inside Scoop for some homemade ice cream!! I have not been to the one in Cranston, even though that one is closer to me. I have gone to this location a number of times!! You can smell the delicious homemade waffle cones as you enter! Those cones are definitely delicious!! I love their Peanut Butter Oreo Ice Cream (it's fabulous as long as you love those two things!) Also I love their blueberry pie - as I do love blueberry with that graham cracker crunch!! I also enjoyed the peanut butter cookie dough one! My mother in law loves the Peppermint Stick one! They also have special flavors during the summer time. I'm sure all of their flavors are delicious!! You can certainly sample any flavors before committing! I wish they were open year round!! Now that I moved back to the area, (especially 10 minutes away from The Inside Scoop), I have been here a couple times. Sadly, I was very disappointed. The ice cream is still very tasty, if I really got any. My usual order for a late night summer treat was - a kiddie sized black raspberry, in a waffle cup with just a touch of hot fudge. But, it seems the girls working there, hate their life so much, they don't bother listening to a word I say. Also, the servings have changed, ( even though the pricing has not). You figure if they give you a lot less, they would *charge* less, right? Nah. So, on the first run, I got my same ol'. Yet, with in the few seconds it took to scoop, get into my hands, then take a first bite. All I had was a small pool of melted ice cream, swallowed by TONS of hot fudge - ( and yes, I did specify a *little* hot fudge). I figured, no big deal, everyone has an off night. I go back and ask for a small this time, but still with a little bit of hot fudge, (multiple times so there is no confusion). I get frowns and grunts from all the girls working, followed by a cup of melted ice cream and just a ridiculous amount of hot fudge. Seriously, who eats this much hot fudge? Well, just as someone mentioned, maybe they are more on the ball in the off season. The Inside Scoop was a pleasant surprise! First off, I couldn't believe they had a VEGAN ice cream made with coconut milk! As a vegan it's always difficult to find a great dessert option. Inside Scoop is one of the millions of ice cream joints nationwide that tout their ice cream as home made, so I don't put a whole lot of stock in that. But I will say that the few times I have stopped there I have enjoyed their ice cream very much. Their soft and hard serve cones, as well as the sundaes. It's a little expensive, but all ice cream places in summer here in RI will soak you so I don't take much off for that either. My only real problem with this place is that it gets immensely crowded in summer and the location right on a busy intersection in Wickford sucks. You end up parking along the side of a busy road and eating outside will see you putting up with a lot of noise and dirt. The only thing keeping this place from being 5 stars in my opinion is the location. They should really move someday. Other than that, its probably the best ice cream joint in town.. read more

We love Inside Scoop the people working there are always friendly and keep the line moving quickly. You definitely get a lot of ice cream in a small, so I suggest the kiddie size unless you really want a large which in their terms is a small. The only downfall is that it is a little pricy. read more

Disappointingly, your chocolate has had inconsistent consistency the several times this season that I've ordered it. I don't recall it being this way in past years. It was almost soupy. Didn't appear to be weather related either because when I put the remainder in my own freezer, it had the same mushy-ness when taken out later. Also your young staff present pleasantly to customers but the air is full of tension. They seem stressed out. It's not the relaxed, upbeat and fun environment that you expect goes along with the getting ice cream experience. read more

We visited Rhode Island for the first time this past weekend and my girlfriend has to have ice cream everywhere we go. This was one of the first places that came up when we searched for where to get ice cream, so we decided to give it a try. She absolutely loved it.
