The only bar in Chicago that has a 1.5 oz neat pour and prices are similar to other bars that offer 2 oz pours.

We went to the Irish Nobleman on our weekend vacation to Chicago. This is by far the best Irish Pub food we have ever had. We have been to Boston and New York Irish pubs, but this place blows them out of the water! We will definitely be returning to Chicago and coming to the Irish Nobleman. Shawn was an excellent server! So I came into this bar and decided to have a drink with some friends. I asked if it was possible for them to make a crispy chicken sandwich they said it was I said if you can't don't worry about it I can order something else but they assured me no trouble at all. The sandwich came out it wasn't a crispy chicken sandwich. I tried to eat it and it was super dried out and I decided this is fucking inedible I'm going to send it back. We had a good time at the bar the check came and they left it on the check. Okay no sweat it happens but I'm not going to tip 20% for that so I tipped 15 and I left a note that the sandwich was bad. I have no intention of writing a review or causing any drama until the chef decides he wants to come out and get in our face and start talking shit. He then proceeded to insult the entire table and say none of us are welcome back. Which is hilarious because immediately after this fuck up he proceeds to deliver an avocado toast with out avocado. Working in the service industry is hard and it is difficult and it is thankless. Gross incompetence is not Charming and I would be far more lenient to the incompetence of this bar if the staff didn't start fights about how they're incompetence was acceptable. It's a fine bar it's a good bar and I've had good experiences here but this is next level comical incompetence. read more

Unfortunately, the city's moratorium on drinking holes has closed up many of the old neighborhood local taverns around the city. This is one reason I wanted to love the Irish Nobleman. I wanted to be able to "go for a walk" and stumble into and out of here and head home happy. The Nobleman left much to be desired. All they did was close J Patricks, and re-open under a new name. I really don't think they even cleaned the bathrooms from the time the one closed, to the time this place opened. They still have bland food, and the drinks are not the best. It's fine for being within walking distance, but I would not make it a destination. read more

They have a nice set up for outdoor eating/drinking during this pandemic, with additional seating placed in areas normally used for on-street parking. Good protocols are identified with signage and 6' spacing markings on the sidewalk for the ordering line. The problem is many people ignore and don't follow the protocols. There are people standing in line without face coverings, standing in line for the restroom without face coverings, standing in line waiting for drink order delivery without face coverings. I simply don't understand? There is a good thing going on here, but many people still don't take personal responsibility. Illinois has seen a doubling of daily confirmed cases in the past couple of weeks, so what does it take for people to act accordingly when going out. How long do they want to keep this virus active? One other disturbing item was the wait staff servers. They were delivering food items to patrons while not wearing gloves. More disturbing was one server who would yell out the orders he was delivering through his mask while walking amongst the table seating. Even worse, he would be loudly joking and hysterically laughing through his mask while carrying food orders and being amongst patrons. That is very dangerous and reckless behavior. I would not want to be the customer who was delivered that food item, after it having been exposed to whatever wasn't stopped by his mask. It's a pity, because they have a nice set up, good beer selection, and good bar food. read more

I love the Nobleman. It's such a friendly place to go enjoy a drink and hangout. Everyone there is nice and the service is great. My favorite food there is the Blackbird Chicken Sandwich- 10/10. They have an awesome outdoor setup on Erie St. They have a great selection of beers and other drinks. It's my favorite spot in the neighborhood for a casual beer. read more

This lousy review is merely for "to go" orders. I can't speak to the on premises experience. The place looks cool and has a good following, so it might be better in person than the mess that was delivered to us. 1. French onion soup is not French onion soup. It is soup, it has onions, but nothing else that would even resemble any French onion soup I've ever eaten. My daughter also order it and thought we were given the wrong soup. It was probably the single worst thing I've eaten from a restaurant In the last year. 2. My wife ordered a salad. On the menu there we're 11 ingredients. The salad that was delivered had 6 ingredients (3 of which weren't on the salad we had ordered). So again, ordering a salad and having 75% of the items unaccounted for and the rest soggy and mismatched was horrible. Ive owned and worked in restaurants for last 20 years. I understand outages and substitutions.... But this was like I ordered a ham and Swiss sandwich on a Kaiser roll and was substituted for tuna and out-dated hummus on a stale pita. 4. Got Ruben Rolls. Pass. Nothing offensive, but just were not good. Over vinegared kraut and practically no corned beef. I wish I'd taken a picture. (Imagine 1/8 slice of Carl Budding chopped beef) 3. We all ordered Chicken pot pie. It was average. (It really wasn't that good, but at least it wasn't a disaster like everything else was.) Sorry, I've never given a negative review before, but this order was just so bad I think I owe it to the general public to make them aware. read more
