This place is great! They're showing the World Cup AND got the best fish and chips in Vegas.

This building was previously the Crown and Anchor pub. It was recently purchased by a new owner and renovated fully to become the Irish Spot. After seeing some great Instagram reviews and pictures of giant fish and chips, we decided to give this place a try on Friday night. We arrived after 9 PM and just missed not only the dinner rush, but the hockey game crowd as well. Apparently it gets very crowded for the hockey games. Our waitress was very nice and knowledgeable about the menu. We started with the sausage rolls, which were fantastic. For my meal I had the fish and chips. You can choose between cod or haddock for your fish. The piece was gigantic and I could not finish it. I did love the homemade fries that came with it. My spouse had the bangers and mash. He was in heaven. The new owner came by and spoke to our table. He was very friendly and gave us a lot of information about what he is creating. The renovations are fantastic and really gave the place a new life. read more

Went here with a group during World Cup match. I was eager to see how it compared to the former business, Crown and Anchor. The food was good, but they were clearly understaffed. It took 45 min. to get a beer, and forget about water, etc. Loved that they kept the patio area, as I used to bring my little dog. I can recommend the shepherds pie, but didn't see any other food served, so I don't know about the fish and chips, which would have been another good option. I'll give them another chance when it isn't World Cup! read more

We tried them out on a Monday evening. There were some other guests there, but it wasn't too busy. We were seated quickly by a friendly waitress. The interior has been very nicely cleaned up. All of the structure is the same, but they definitely gave everything a scrub and coat of new paint. It's nice and comfortable. The menu feels a little limited at the moment, but the food we had was good. The Guinness was excellent. Which is, I feel like, fairly important for an Irish pub. Overall it feels like a nice place to go for a bite and a drink. Cozy and reasonable. read more

A simple Irish bar with a great Irish ambience. Sports playing on the TVs. We were there during the World Cup, so there was a game on. We wanted something quick and light so I had the sausage rolls. They were cooked perfectly. The sausage was amazing and the pastry was flaky and delicious. read more

We went to watch the US World Cup game with a few friends here and had a great time. It was a fun environment. People cheering and high-fiving. The staff worked their tails off keeping up with the demand of food and drinks. The drink specials during the game were great. We got a bucket of beers and brought them to our area which was convenient. After the US victory, I snapped these pictures from the second level of the whole bar. Can't wait to return next Friday for the next US World Cup match. read more

Cooked in 100% beef tallow and no seed oils? Yes please! The food was SO good and so fresh (could definitely tell it wasn't cooked in vegetable oils.) our server Anna was amazing and was really holding it down in there! We ordered the salt and pepper wings, Caesar salad and smash burger. The beef tallow fries were INCREDIBLE. We had family in town and wanted to have fish and chips. We thought we would give the Irish Spot a try. Normally we would go to the Crown and Anchor but the Irish Spot is very close to home. Both the haddock and cod were over battered with no flavor. The chips were not chips but a bad version of a steak fry. The curry sauce tasted more like ash than curry. Even what they said was coke came to the table looking like iced tea and flat. None of the food was acceptable. The service was mediocre at best. The interior of the place is nice and clean but nothing special. Overall very disappointed. read more

Came here on a whim. Staff friendly. Food comforting. Only caveat about tonight...it was USA vs Paraguay in World Cup game. Let's just say it was super lively! Even with ALL the commotion the server was awesome and attentive. Staff was proud of the renovation. We were regulars at the old place in the fall with our bulldogges. Great place. The food is awesome. The Caesar dressing is homemade and fantastic. The fish and chips is legitimate (we came with a British friend who confirmed). The Shepard's Pie is also great, and has actual lamb, rather than beef. Highly recommend! read more

I walked into this establishment today hoping it was at the very least, functional, and everything I knew it to be decades before. I'm here to tell you it's better! It's clean, cool, non smoky, food is all you should expect from an authentic Irish Pub and more. But it's also about the people, and this place has ground roots staff and an owner that really cares about making this what this place deserves. The Irish Spot will continue to fill up and it should. I promise you, from the moment you walk in, with the food, staff, and environment, it will be your new go to for watching sports around great food, and great people. read more

Place is clean and tidy, to be expected as it's only been opened a short while. Ordered the chicken sandwich (fried) and bangers and mash. Bangers were fine, mash was okay. The chicken breast was huge, so my friend cut it in two. The center was just this side of raw, rendering it inedible. The waitress was solicitous and took the plate; my friend asked her to box it as takeaway. Eventually, the box arrived, carried by the owner, who told us that "she (assuming the chef) said it tested done" along with a story about someone else who complained about undercooked meat at one of his other restaurants and his response, which he concluded was supposed to be 'light-hearted' but struck the two of us listening as borderline rude. There was an apology tucked in there, but it was bookended by the "she said" and "that person doesn't understand cooking" comments. Okay - fine. The guy's customer service leaves more than a bit lacking. We paid up (and yes, we paid for the chicken meal - full freight). Came home. Opened up the box to discover that their solution to the problem was to toss the undercooked chicken - now in two pieces - back into the fryer. It was definitely cooked - pretty much a hockey puck (or should I say two hockey pucks?). All restaurants have problems at start-up, but this response to a valid complaint suggests that the owner has some issues. Whether they are financial or simply an inability to accept criticism is impossible to tell. Be aware and if you order take out, check the box before you leave. read more

My grandson and I just tried the Irish Spot today for the first time. It was great. It was larger than I expected. The food was great. We tried the cod fish, sausage rolls, battered sausage and salad. Everything was delicious. Just be aware that the salad is a meal in itself. Has all kinds of lettuce and spinach. Our go to spot used to be Codfather, way across town but this has it beat. The Guinness was quite tasty also. Service was great. Nice comfortable place. Menu is limited but they will be expanding it. read more

service was good nice atmosphere. went specifically for the highly acclaimed fish and chips. be sure to ask for the chips well done as they were a bit above raw! The cod portion was a bit disappointing... the mushy peas they add as a side were NOT authentic but rather a food processed can of green peas (could tell from the hulls) and Not the traditional marrow fat peas known for their distinctive flavor and texture. The Tartar sauce was just so so as well. It was an adventure across town but gonna stick to my go to "The Codfather"...gonna have to do a lot better to beat them! read more
