    Bulgogi was top notch!
    Edward K.

Was in the city for a nearby concert and needed something to eat. Found The Jin on Yelp and figured it would be perfect. I walked in just before 5 on a Thursday, absolutely perfect time as it was nice and quiet! Restaurant is clean and comfortable, staff is friendly and professional. I ordered a couple of basics because I wasn't sure how authentic the Korean food would be. Bulgogi was outstanding! Tender and flavorful and served screaming hot! Chicken wings were also a hit, meaty with a crisp exterior! Glad I tried The Jin!

I ordered the chicken katsu sandwich and it was unfortunately very very dry... I was expecting a juicy crispy Korean style fried chicken but instead got a really thinly flattened over cooked piece of chicken. The service was fine and the ambiance was also nice - somewhere to meet up with a small group of friends to have a couple drinks and some bites. Unfortunately I wouldn't order the food again if I was to come back.

Service was great. I think there was just one server and he was hustling. Actually he did mention that it was the other guy's first day. But he still made the time to kindly offer menu suggestions and make funnies even while training the new guy and bussing tables and taking orders and closing out bills. So sweet. The food was fine but not exactly what I expected. I didn't realize that it was more street foods and fusion and not really traditional Korean food. For example, I ordered the pork belly and it filled half the plate; the other half was filled with sautéed kimchi and it wasn't served with rice. I wasn't used to this. The kimchi was fresh but sour which is our preference. However it seemed to have a bit of vinegar added in. We did ask for extra. I can't remember the other banchan but there were 4 or 5 and all were fine.

The Jin was the answer to where to eat after the Late Show with Colbert. An easy multi block walk that was so worth it. We popped in on a Monday evening and were seated right away. They had opened their front sidewalk door/window and allowed the beautiful evening air in. I saw Korean Fried Chicken and I was set. My table mates went for a Bulgogi bowl and a Bulgogi Japchae. We also ordered their dumplings. Like a speeding bullet the fried chicken arrived at the table - hot, crispy and drizzled with a luscious sauce. Next came the other two entrees nicely presented and hot. The chicken was super crispy crunchy and had great flavor and was very moist. Dipping sauces came with the chicken but the drizzle was plenty flavorful enough for me. The Bulgogi dishes were good but the depth of flavor of the meat wasn't quite bold enough. We make are own at home and are quite smitten so perhaps an unfair comparison. The dumplings arrived after the entrees and were fine. We could have skipped them in retrospect. Service was friendly, fast and professional. The restaurant was clean, well lit and inviting. If my rating was on just the chicken it would have been 5 stars. I definitely would order it on my next visit to the Jin.

Bulgogi Beef over Korean White Rice

Stopped by for a midday meal. The restaurant was not crowded at around 4p on a Wednesday. Service was courteous, not a lot of attention but there if you need something. We ordered an 11 piece fried chicken for appetizer. Then we had a beef bulgogi over rice and burger with fries. Everything was fine and hit the spot. The water glass is on the small side. Luckily they gave you a prefilled water bottle so you wouldn't have to constantly ask for refills. However you had to constantly refill your own glass because it's so small.

    Half and half wings

Probably the best chicken wings you will ever have in the city. The portion sizes are large, so consider sharing. I would suggest the half and half so you get half and half sauce - - both the garlicsoy and spicy (get extra garlicsoy, you won't regret it). I personally like the boneless but bone-in is definitely the more preferred. Easy restaurant when you are looking to be in and out. Also perfect for the summer because they have the open window / doors that allow you to feel outdoor vibes.

This place rules! For great prices, you get great quality food. I got the Bulgogi over Korean white rice. Really tasty meat. I love the dipping sauce that they give you and I poured that on everything. It's a simple dish, but a lot of food. I also got the pork belly with sautéed kimchi. That was our favorite. Normally pork belly is very fatty and I liked how well this was cooked. A ton of pork belly to eat as well. I was shocked by the portion size. Service was all smiles and they sat us fast and always filled our waters. I really like them. I like the space. I like our table. I like the open window entrance for the summertime. For two of us it cost about $45. A great spot in Hell's kitchen!

Extremely nice staff and cute intimate vibe inside. Kimchi fried rice was incredible, and the shrimp scallion pancake was great too

Spicy Ramen with Braised Pork and Poached Egg

First time dining and I'm impressed. They make their kimchi in house and has an authentic Korean decor aesthetic. Limited menu but most of the food was delicious. Ordered spicy braised ramen, fries, and house kimchi. The spicy braised pork was delicious and not as spicy. The fries were basic but still tasty and the kimchi was crunchy and slight spicy. The service is professional and fast. They also provide extra condiments for most dishes and sides. I like their chipotle and tareyaki sauce. The water closet is located past kitchen. Small eatery but worth a visit.

Marinated Beef Short Ribs with Corn Cheese

My mom and I came out of a Tuesday morning taping of the Drew Barrymore Show at CBS Broadcasting Studio, and found this spot on Google Maps nearby. Clean, dark interior, it was pretty much empty at 2:30pm, and we selected a seat near the entrance to enjoy the open air and sunlight. The server was extremely attentive and welcoming. We ordered the japchae with bulgogi, and the short ribs with corn cheese. He brought us extra kimchi, made sure our waters were always topped off, and even changed out our used napkins. The food, though, was amazing! It's crazy to think this might be one of the best korean meals I've ever had, and I've eaten great korean food in NYC Koreatown, the Bay Area, in LA, and Irvine, CA. Generous portions of everything. Short ribs were perfectly tender, and the bed of corn cheese deliciously soaked up the juices. The japchae was bouncy and perfectly flavorful with a generous helping of bulgogi on top. Even the kimchi was perfectly sour and complemented everything! Five stars, definitely coming back!

On freezing cold day, nothing beats a warm bowl ramen. I searched around where I was and found the Jin. It is situated on a relatively quiet section of the neighborhood. I could not find obvious sign out front but the clean, modern design of the entrance made it the 'obvious'. There are two kinds of ramen options - pork vs chicken. I chose the pork option. I also ordered a small fried chicken. When both came out, I was surprised by the size of the fried chicken. It's good for two people. The skin was crispy and the hot sauce was just right, spicy and tangy. The ramen was good but the stand out item in it was the poached egg. You have to try it. The only shortcomings of this place is single restroom. It's clean but looks like needing a renovation. Would be back in the summer and try out a few more items.

Me and my partner's favorite place to eat when we're in the city. The vibe is great and the food is delicious every time. Get the tteokbokki! The service is also wonderful; this past weekend when we went, we ordered short rib and the server informed us the chef thought the meat was a little off and told us they unfortunately wouldn't be able to serve it, but we received the other parts of the dish for free. Would and have highly recommended this restaurant to multiple people to try.

I was NOT a fan of their mushroom friend rice. It was a plain white rice with sauteed mushrooms and corn. That's it. I expected a bit more and fresh ingredients especially for the price. I thought the rice would be at least been fried? I asked for some soy sauce and spice just to add a bit more flavor to it. However, our service was great and I cannot say enough kind words to the staff. The rest of our company enjoyed their food. My partner ordered a ramen which he enjoyed and wished there was more ramen options available for being a ramen (advertised) restaurant. Overall it was a good experience to try!

No complaints, except that I guess I prefer Tonkostu (pork bone) over Paitan (chicken bone). I appreciated sitting at the bar to watch the lone ramen monger stir around the next batches of broth, hand-torching some chashu; boiling, whip-drying, and gently nestling my noodles, then manually laying out the toppings. The dish feels real, personal.

This spot delivers the kind of authentic paitan that reminds you why people used to line up on cold sidewalks just for a bowl. I ordered the Paitan Ramen Deluxe, and it genuinely lives up to the name. The broth is silky, rich, and comforting without being overly salty which is exactly what a proper paitan should be. The bowl comes loaded: tender shredded chicken, seared chashu, marinated soft-boiled eggs, fresh scallions, bamboo shoots, and a sheet of nori that ties everything together. Every topping tastes intentional, not just filler. The texture balance is what really stands out fatty chashu that melts, shredded chicken with real flavor, and noodles that hold up beautifully in the broth. You can taste the care in the soup base; it has depth, not just heat or salt. If you loved Totto Ramen back in the day, this feels like its modern successor same spirit, new precision. Toribro isn't trying to reinvent ramen which they're just doing it right. And in NYC, that alone makes it worth a visit.
