Visiting from Charlotte and we are vegans so was looking for all vegan restaurants near by, came across this and it didn't disappoint. We ordered : Maple Miso Brussels Birria Tacos (3) Cubano-fx I'm not a fan of sweet so Brussel sprouts were not favorite but everything else we ordered was just yummmm! Definitely recommend to all.

Came here for the second time while visiting from California! First time I tried the birria tacos and had a biscoff Tiramisu cheesecake, both of which were absolutely amazing. I am so glad my family decided to give it a try this time as well! I am the only vegan in my family, but they wanted to come as well which was great! The service initially was slow, as the worker was on a break when we arrived, but we didn't mind waiting at all especially knowing it's a one person show! We ordered the Philly, the Bae, the Rueben, the birria tacos, and the no animal fries. The seating was great for waiting, as they had comfy couches directly in front that fit all 7 of us perfectly. My family and I literally ate every single bite of all the food and it was absolutely delicious! I am always so impressed coming here, and it did not disappoint today! Will be returning on my next trip to Colorado and can't wait!! Thank you for all the amazing people who make the food with love! Super grateful

    Tofu appetizer

Excellent sandwich fresh bread made that day, fluffy tofu appetizer. Seriously better than any other Los Angeles vegan spot. Ordered here twice during my trip.

Service was awesome! I had the birria tacos and man in man- amazing. Great texture, salsa and the lime was fresh. This place is unique in that they have a communal lobby/bar/lounge area? There's also an upstairs with an outdoor patio! Large entertainment center with friendly people!

We walked through the front patio area and pulled open the door. It was a bit dark, and I immediately saw a bar. I was concerned that this was a 21+ restaurant but noticed a child sitting in a booth nearby. Thank goodness! The bartender motioned that we could sit anywhere. We initially sat at a table, but it was a bit wobbly, so we moved to a booth. She came over with some menus shortly along with silverware. We let her know we'll be sharing a few plates, and this is what we ordered: * Basque Mussels $16 - The mussels were good and the broth was enjoyable as well. 4/5 * Blintzini $16 - This was an enjoyable crepe with wild mushrooms and bleu cheese cream. 4/5 * Fishermen's Stew $14 - The stew was just okay. It was very hot from the beginning to the end. It just wasn't a wow dish for us. 3/5 * Spanish Oxtail $26 - Now this is a winner of a dish! The bison just fell off the bone and was so flavorful! It came with their signature Summa pots. We did inquire on how long it would take to have another order, but we were in a time crunch, so we didn't get a chance to. In retrospect, we would have ordered two plates of this along with another order of Summa Pots or Loaded Summa Pots. 5/5 * Pineapple Mango Cobbler $12 - Listed on the menu as seasonal fruit, we asked what kind of fruit it was and pineapple and mango was the answer. It was enjoyable and had me looking up recipes to make cobblers at home. 4/5 The bartender was also our waitress, so she had to move around quite a bit. Therefore, we did need to ask for more water or wave for another napkin. Overall, we enjoyed our visit at Summa! They have various events including Trivia Sundays and weekday happy hour options.

Food showed up within 20 minutes of ordering. None of it was hot Brussel Sprouts were almost cold. Bao bun chicken was barely warm. Tiki masala meatballs were cold. They did take off a lemonade and one of the appetizers. Our bill was under $14. So I guess that's ok. We were almost finished, we were hungry and ate what came to the table. That's when I was able to ask "was this supposed to be cold?" We may come back. I'm not eating cold food, that's supposed to be hot again. It scares me a little.

It was chalky white, bland, and tasted like absolutely nothing -- not cheese, not seasoning, just sadness in a bowl. I took a few bites hoping it would get better and ended up feeling so sick I actually had to run to the bathroom and throw it up. I have never had mac and cheese that bad in my life. Then there was the catfish. Catfish is supposed to be crispy, seasoned, and full of flavor. This tasted like it was dropped in the fryer with zero seasoning and zero care. The only way I could even get it down was by drowning it in hot sauce just to give it some kind of taste. At that point I might as well have just eaten the hot sauce by itself. The whole meal felt like it was cooked by someone who has never tasted food before. Bland, poorly prepared, and honestly kind of shocking that a restaurant would serve it. I left feeling nauseous and disappointed. Save your money and your stomach -- I would not recommend this place to anyone. not even my worst enemy Let me talk about the cornbread, because it might have been the most disappointing thing on the plate. First off, it was wrapped in foil like a leftover someone forgot about in the back of the fridge. When I opened it up, it looked rough -- dry, dark, and cracked like a scab sitting on a plate. Not golden, not soft, not fresh... just sad. Then I took a bite and somehow it got worse. The taste was like unseasoned water baked into a dry brick. No sweetness, no butter, no flavor at all. It was crumbly, dry, and tasted like it had been sitting around for days before they wrapped it up and served it. Cornbread is supposed to be warm, soft, and comforting. This was the complete opposite. Honestly, I've had gas station cornbread that tasted better than this.

I was greeted by Peter, great guy, who took the time to explain to me what that all the food was vegan and non-GMO and answered all my questions about the menu. I ordered the Messy Sloppy burger which came with corn chowder soup and the Sloppy Mac and Cheese and they were not only delicious but hardy as well. Although the portions could've been a little more but it was pretty filling that I had to take the Mac and cheese in a Togo box. I would like to try more of their menu and it was a plus to know they make their own plant based protection except the few items that mention are made with Beyond Burger. But I was pleasantly surprised and definitely would like to come again.

If you're sitting at the bar you can see the window where your food comes up -- our salad and fries both sat there about ten minutes before anyone brought them the ten feet over to us. Not a huge deal, but it's a little cruddy sitting there thinking "I'm pretty sure that's ours" and waiting. The ambiance is very dark, with a lot of stairs up and down -- you head into sort of a basement-type area. Everything I saw was clean and nice. It's a cool, funky spot to take a date or hit for happy hour, so the vibe and ambiance are definitely spot on for that. Signature cocktails -- all fine. Not the best thing ever, but solid. I'd have them again. Side salad -- good. The ranch is made in house and very flavorful, and the salad was actually loaded with veggies. French fries with garlic aioli -- a bit of a letdown. We didn't even finish them. They came out okay, just a little dry, and the aioli itself wasn't very good -- we didn't really like it. Pro tip: The entrées looked pricey, which is why we stuck to snacking at the bar -- and after the fries came out, we were fine calling it there and eating elsewhere. Overall, would recommend for happy hour, and would return.
