First off, I love that The Joint is dog friendly. After walking my dog at Crescent Park nearby, I was starving and in need of some lunch. My dog was shown a lot of love here, which he enjoyed. We dined on the back patio. I ordered the Pulled Pork, Burnt Ends and Mac and Cheese. For my dog I ordered a 2 Piece Chicken with no sides. The pulled pork was amazing, no bbq sauce needed. They burnt ends were really good too, but I would've preferred them without sauce and they come with sauce already. The Mac and Cheese can use a little salt, pepper, and a dash of garlic powder. My dog enjoyed his chicken leg, and I get a thigh for lunch the next day. One thing I would love to see here, since they are dog friendly is at least one item on the menu specifically for dogs. Maybe a mixture of cheaper cut meats shredded with a few veggies mixed in. However, my experience here is always great, but how sweet everyone was too my dog made this experience top tier. read more

Visited on July 4. Food was fresh, delicious and smoked to perfection! We had ribs, chicken, sausage and brisket. Didn't like the coleslaw, as it was a little too vinegary for my taste. The reviews for this place are stellar and I had a good time, but didn't blow my mind away. We ordered the brisket and ribs and cole slaw + potato salad as sides. The brisket was pretty mediocre in my opinion - there were some fatty, melty sections but overall it ended up being quite meat-y and not very tender. I'm not sure if it's because we came at 6pm and maybe the best parts were gone (they didn't have burnt ends left so maybe that was a sign) but pretty disappointed in what people said melted in their mouths. The ribs were mixed - the first two I had were AMAZING, super flavorful and tasty. The meat fell right off the bone. However, the next two were good but just alright, less flavorful and less tender. Love this place. It's a must stop for every trip to New Orleans for me. The cornbread is a bit spicy and less sweet so beware. You can add honey on it and it def elevates it. The brisket is absolutely the best. I always bring at least 1.5 lbs back. You can ask them to pack it in plastic wrap and throw it into a ziploc bag and it will hold. The ribs are also amazing and my kids should nuts for them. It's not dry even without the sauce! The best part of this place is the quality of the meat. The meat literally melts in your mouth and there is so much Smokey crust of yummy goodies in each bite. The price is also 1/3 the price of sf bbq which is not even the same quality. Maybe the best BBQ I ever experienced. This place is eclectic. I heard of The Joint on DDD and had to check it out while I was in town. I sat at the bar with server/bartender Chis. He did a great job helping me with my meal selection. I ordered the 2 meat plate with 2 sides. I had the perfectly smoked, fall of the bone ribs and the sausage with 2 sides. I selected the homemade potato salad and the mac and cheese ($13.95). There was a $1.50 up charge for the mac and cheese (worth it). The food had more flavor than you can imagine. The sausage was made with jalapeño and the mac and cheese had a hint of cayenne. Their selection of house made BBQ sauces were of the charts. I loved the pineapple hot sauce and the house sweet sauce. Super large portions at a great price. No shortage of quality and superior service here The place is funky with interesting wall art as well as a cool area outside with additional seating. We Don't have BBQ like this in the frozen north.. no no no. My girlfriend and I happened on this place after a long walk through the Maringy. We stumped in as a bunch of high schoolers on a trip came out. Perfect timing. My partner isnt a big fan of bbq sauce but this place won both of us over immediately. I've been going to this place since it opened not too far away in a little cinderblock building more than 15 years ago. Today, I had the brisket, two ribs, 1/4 chicken (dark meat), and two sides of the potato salad.... And 1/2 and 1/2 tea. I'm not sure what's going on at The Joint but today's meal was without a doubt the best meal I've ever had at The Joint. The ribs were perfect. The brisket couldn't have melted in my mouth any faster and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The potato salad was as good as mine, without a ton of mustard. Delicious barbecue! Our table had pulled pork, ribs, and brisket. I had the brisket sandwich that comes with a side - and everything was a large portion. The barbecue sauce is a NC sauce - vinegary and sweet - which I love. Due to covid, you order at a takeout window, and everyone is following covid rules. There is outside seating around the front/side of the restaurant, PLUS a hidden back patio with heaters for busy times. There is also a park across the street where you could eat on warm days. Parking is neighborhood curb parking, but I had no problem during weekday lunch (and the restaurant had plenty of customers). read more

In town from ATL and The Joint came up as a dinner joint near our AIRBNB. Looking from outside you'd think to keep walking by (trick). We decided that the aroma that was coming from inside might be worth trying. As we entered and stood in a short line, we immediately felt a since of welcoming. We ordered, paid, pleased with cost especially once we saw our healthy heaped plates! So the treat was the flavors of or briskets, half rack ribs and salad!!! Omg! The best, serious! My husband causing stuff at real master, and I normally eat one rib. I sat and ate six and licked my fingers dry in between each one. This BBQ joint is a well known location for years. Their standard BBQ offerings, ribs, brisket, pulled pork are always on par. I would likely recommend the brisket and pulled pork and IF they have burnt ends go for it you won't regret at all. It's excellent. They have good sides, desserts plus additional foods on the menu are all good from what I've had. If you want a slight change try the pastrami sandwich with one side. It rivals any deli we have in nola. The interior and exterior I find appealing - rough around the edges but inviting. No issues with service and over all a pretty reliable BBQ choice. read more

The BBQ can be smelled all the way down the street. Sweet hickory wood and good meat. The combos are the way to go. Great coleslaw with a vinegar base. Baked beans with meat tailings , mmmm good. They were out of ribs and burnt ends that night, but we were also enjoying a flood in NOLA that night. We boated our car to the Joint and tried to dodge the rain. The vibe of the place is low key with good music. The folks working were hustling and very helpful. The BBQ was some of the best I have had and coming from the Kansas City area that is high honor. Get any meat you want on an excellent garden salad with a smoked tomato dressing, so good. I get the burnt end when available as the meat and man is this delicious and cost effective.
