    Beautifully decorated cookies. Individually wrapped.

Wonderful work! The cookies came individually wrapped, were tasty and beautify decorated. Great communication.

Monica is very talented on her cookie decorating skills. This is the second time ordering from her and she didn't disappoint. My vision for my daughter's first bday cookies came out so beautiful. Not only are her cookies beautiful they are super tasty too. Each cookie is literally perfect. She will wrap each cookie individually in a sealed bag and labeled with her store and ingredients. She is quick to respond and very professional. Thank you again Monica for such amazing cookies and service. We will order from you again.

Gluten free, red velvet Wonder Woman cake!

I had Monica make a gluten-free, half the sugar, red velvet wonder woman cake for my wife's 60th birthday. What a beautiful cake! She loved the whimsical decor and the cake itself was absolutely delicious. It was moist and perfect in terms of sweetness. She used buttercream icing on the outside and buttercream and cream cheese on the inside. We couldn't stop eating it! I think you've stumbled on a new sales category - Gluten-free with less sugar! It was wonderful and everyone enjoyed it. Thanks again for for making this cake so special. You are professional , skilled and a delight to work with. We will definitely be ordering from you again in the future!

    Maj Johg birthday cake

I had an idea for a special birthday cake for my wife and talked with Monica about it. She produced a beautiful cake ( I supplied the edible maj jong tiles) and it was delicious. The cake was a big hit at the party. Monica was very easy to work with. I highly recommend her - 10 out of 10!

1 of 4 cowboy designs! Received rave reviews on design and taste from guests!

I was looking for a local bakery nearby the location of an upcoming party, and came across The Kibler Elf. Monica did a wonderful job with my treat order - from the time I placed the order to receipt of the final treats! She made the most beautiful cowboy themed cookies and cupcakes for my friend's baby shower. The cookies were a hit because they were delicious and soft, but also because of the BEYOND adorable designs! They were also bigger than I expected and very satisfying to guests! The cupcakes were also yummy and cute! I loved her design recommendations for fondant toppers and the cupcake flavor selection was perfect since she offered both carrot and red velvet! Would absolutely shop with Monica again for cookies and cupcakes! Definitely recommend The Kibler Elf if you want to have delicious AND cute treats for your event that guests will talk about! Her weekly menu items also look delicious, which includes sugar cookie dough for home, cinnamon rolls, quiche, french bread, and croissants! Thank you, Monica - your treats were definitely one of the cutest highlights of the party!

Highly recommend Monica's cakes and sugar cookies! I reached out to her with a request for my son's birthday and she was very responsive and helped me pick cake flavors based on my preferences. The end product was incredible! The design was very adorable and the cake was one of the best cakes I've tasted. My guests were so impressed as well! We did a two layer cake with chocolate cake filled with berries on the bottom and vanilla cake with confetti sprinkles and lemon curd filling on top. Cakes were not dry at all and not overly sweet - exactly what I requested! And the sugar cookies were so increasingly cute and on theme and they tasted sooo good - just the right amount of chew and sweetnesses. I'm definitely going to order from Monica again!

The quiche and the vegetable pot pie were both terrible! Watery!!!! Crusts are thin, crack and zero flavor. Definitely don't recommend.

Now, I'm usually not a coffee drinker, but a friend of mine out here is slowly getting me into it... or maybe she's just using me to feed her caffeine habit lol. Either way, I'm starting to enjoy it more. I grabbed a vanilla latte and a raspberry charlotte and man, both hit the mark and the spot before I headed out. The store is always so classy, beautifully decorated, and the pastry presentation is next-level. It's the kind of display that makes you want to order one of everything just because it looks that good. The seating area inside is small, so if you don't lock a seat you'll either be outside at the front tables or grabbing it to go. The hospitality here is always amazing -- super attentive, courteous, and genuinely kind. Only thing to note is the parking. It's street parking, so keep your head on a swivel when pulling in or out. All in all, this place continues to deliver.

It tasted not dense instead of a fluffy fresh croissant. It may be a personal preference though. We also got the kouign amann that I usually really like but this place didn't have the sugary coating or the flakiness either. The workers there were friendly and there was no line at 9:30am on Saturday. The restroom is a no go though. Very small and very not clean.

Craftsman and Wolves is a killer crafts bakery that makes the perfect Kouign-amann. The shop does many things including a signature bread pudding, small in size but big in flava. Measures maybe two and a half inches diameter, an inch thick. Packs a wonderful wowie punch with the seasonally ripe berries and fruit, plus a few pieces of specialty chocolate. My friend who knows from excellent pastries says the goods at C and W are special because the sugars in each item are balanced, not excessive. The goodies we sampled together were scrumptious. Somehow even my pedestrian palate senses that these dessert thingies are distinctive and of ultra quality. Ambiance-wise, it's a noisy place with a few tables lining the windows. You are elbow to elbow practically against neighbouring tables. I know I heard every syllable of the conversation going on to my right-hand side. I also knew it was Korean, so I couldn't successfully eavesdrop... boooooo. Very unique metallic artsy fashioned chairs make the space seem modern. There's merch in the corner and on a wall. You can get coffee drinks too. Service is excellent: the majestically tall staffer -- who I thought was manager but isn't -- was the kindest friendliest soul, very pleasant to chat with. Craftsman crew were mad busy, but always with smiles and ready to help customers. You won't find any bakery bites that are not delectable at Craftsman and Wolves. Kool yummy easy five stars.

Small coffee shop sized with maybe seating for a dozen inside and a few small tables outside. I wasn't too familiar with their offerings, but I did know that it was chef driven and dedicated to quality. And in my short peek, I somewhat was able to confirm that. Drip Coffee (4*) Solid, bold and enough smoothness for me to want to savor it. Not as dark and roasty as Peets but good enough for me, especially to go with their delectable pastries. Kouign Amman (5*) I love B Patisserie's version that is flaky but saturated in buttery sugar, that I can only tolerate 1 of those at a time. Very rich and decadent. I have never seen a version quite like Craftmans and Wolves but that is what I found adoring. The exterior almost seems fried like a doughnut/cronut but totally not sure. It kinda had that bubbled exterior but not blatantly obvious. And there was just enough sugar cooked into it that it made it stealthy sweet, I'd say easily half the amount of sugar as B Pâtisserie's. Not that I would eat 2 of these in one sitting, but I easily could. Croissant Pudding (5*) They do these tiny mini bread puddings that can be heated up. We chose it as is, room temp and it was still fantastic. They use croissants as the 'bread' so it isn't as dense as a regular bread pudding. But their custard to bread ratio was masterful and this version (think they change the variations often) has burst of fresh raspberry and chunks of Dulce which is like a caramelized/browned white chocolate made by Valrhona. (I had to look that ingredient up as I never heard until now.) And to take alternate bites between the flaky and unique Kouign Amman and the creamy and slightly dense pudding with sips of quality black coffee, just initiated me an avid fan of Craftsman and Wolves. Seriously smacks!

My family and I stopped by Marvel Cake during Mother's Day for a sweet treat on Sunday. This location is in the strip of Downtown Palo Alto and has limited parking (similar to the rest of the stores there, there is a lot of parking, and you will need to get lucky). My mom does like the Marvel Cake in their first location, so we swung by here to try this one out! Location-wise, this is a smaller shop than the original one in West San Jose with limited seating inside. I would say it's not work from home friendly however, I did see a college student next to me on her laptop so maybe I am incorrect here! The interior is nice and light, matching the elegance of the desserts. We ordered three items on the menu: the pillow cake, the bisou, and the blueberry lavender roll. Here are some thoughts: * Pillowcase cake: It may seem like this would be a fluffy cake due to the nature of its shape, but it is a gelatinous Jell-O cake with fruit jam. It was not bad, and tasted refreshing and light. I didn't know if I liked it at first, but ultimately I did come back for seconds and thirds, so this is approved. * Blueberry lavender roll cake: This was not at all what we were expecting. I did not taste any lavender, nor did it have a strong blueberry flavor. I think what threw our party off was the layer of gelatin that surrounded the cake. Texturally, we were not a big fan. * Bisou: This one was our favorite one. I appreciated the nutty crust in the bottom layer of the cake, while the filling was soft and bouncy. It is very sweet, however, but overall, I really enjoyed this one and feel like it would go great with a cup of coffee. What made the experience here a 3 instead of a 4 or 5 was the service we got. We weren't greeted when we came in, which, to be fair, is totally fine, maybe they were busy. However, the person helping us stared at us the whole time and did not really communicate well with us. When I tried to order the cakes for my family, they looked bothered that we were there, and I was not sure if they understood what pastries I was ordering because they did not repeat it back to us at all or confirm anything. When I did place the order, they slowly grabbed the plates and looked visually confused, which again, if they wanted to, I could have repeated it back to them. After they gathered everything, they put it in front of us and rang me up. The whole time, they did not say a word to me at all. Did not reconfirm anything, did not acknowledge we were there, did not say thank you. It was a bit strange, and I had to check with my family if it was me or if that was a really weird experience (it wasn't me).

You walk in the door and you immediately get hit with a delicious smell of fresh baked goods. I highly recommend their panini sandwiches. They have a lot of full meal options - ranging from egg dishes, avocado toast or "tartine", paninis as well as salads. I'd say this place is definitely on the more "balanced meal" side. I appreciate that the panini comes with a little treat on the side. Ask for the one you want or else they will choose for you! I got the small lemon bar dessert. The meal is pretty filling and you will leave pretty satisfied! They have a wide selection of drinks as well - the coffee was pretty great and I got a lovely latte art which is always a bonus! I also love that they have plenty of room to sit inside and outside. If you're a "word cup" fan you can watch one of the games inside! I personally prefer sitting outside in the sunshine, reading my book and enjoying the beautiful weather. The servers here are friendly and caring. They check on you if you need anything and grab your food when you are done! These little things are very much appreciated in a restaurant. I'd recommend coming here for brunch or lunch, or grabbing a coffee, enjoying the present moment and then walking around to do some shopping!

The custard tasted sour and off, to the point that we questioned whether it was still fresh. The pastry layer was so soggy and difficult to cut through that serving it became a frustrating, messy ordeal. Instead of a delicate, flaky Napoleon, it felt like we were trying to saw through soggy cardboard. The entire "cake" was a letdown. I've had grocery store cakes that were significantly better--this made a Safeway cake seem like it came from a high-end bakery by comparison. Given that this was a staff recommendation, it was especially surprising and disappointing, and my sister was embarrassed she brought it to our celebration. Based on this experience alone, I would be very hesitant to return or recommend this bakery to others.

This changed when I found out that they started serving salt bread. I went in with high expectations, especially with the branding of this bakery. To order, you need to go on their website to designate a time for pick-up. The part that was not seamless was with the actual pick-up; they have a sign right when you walk in for pick-ups but none of the workers were paying attention to that area. After 5 minutes of waiting with zero eye contact or help from any of the workers, I went over to the cash register area and asked one of the workers who didn't seem to be occupied with anything. When I grabbed the bag from her, I immediately noticed that it wasn't warm or hot to the touch, which was a bit concerning. I got 2 of their garlic herb salt bread and was expecting them to be made-to-order, or at least warmed up, hence why there is a designated pick-up and mandatory mobile order process? I'm not sure if maybe they are supposed to be eaten cold, or if they required a heat-up, however there were no explicit instructions to do so if they should have been. In terms of the taste, it was fine, but just tasted like a cold buttery garlic bread. Nothing spectacular per se. I also ordered the white peach juice and although it was grabbed from the fridge, it leaned more on being lukewarm. It definitely tasted like it was made with real ingredients but I expected more of the white peach nectarine to peak through. Not worth it for the price imo ($6.50). Overall, the experience and service themselves would make me hesitant to come back.
