I understand that they were very very busy, but I don't think there's a reason it should've taken an hour for my order to be ready. It's honestly my own fault that I waited around that long, I should've just cut my losses and left. I did enjoy the drink that I ordered, but I did NOT like the ube taro sago jar I bought with it. It could be that I just ordered the wrong thing, but I don't think I'd go back and give them another shot. It's also a very cramped space when it's so busy. The store is very very narrow, with terraced seating, so you have to step over the people sitting in front of you to pick up your order. It looks aesthetic, it's just not very practical.

Tongsui -- I ordered the Coco Earth with chia seeds and the mango coconut jelly. Both were super delicious and not overly sweet at all. The staff were very nice and friendly. The line was really long, and since the shop is very busy, you usually have to wait around 15-20 minutes in line, then another 30 minutes for pickup. They do offer online number holding, which makes it a bit more convenient. Overall, it was a great experience and definitely worth the wait.

Tong Sui is uniquely Bay Area and I always love hitting one when I'm up here. Please come and create your own adventure.

I loved the little pudding cups! My favorite is the mango mochi coconut. The mochi has a fun chewy and soft texture. We also tried the taro and mango sticky rice. They were also good, but I liked the mango mochi coconut the best. Their desserts come in little glass containers and when we asked if they recycle it, they just told us to throw it in the trash. Too bad they don't recycle the glass, that seems a bit wasteful.

Coco Mango & Mango Coconut Pudding

Stepping into the store, I was kindly greeted by all the employees and even offered a sample! Fernando, who took my order, recommended several drinks and was very patient while I decided what to order! The drink was done quickly and tasted amazing. The quality of the drink and pudding was above average and you can tell that a lot of attention went into the products and how they were made. The store is also very clean. Overall, I had a 10/10 experience!

Stopped by for a quick treat and decided to try the matcha red bean pudding. It was so delicious! If you're a matcha lover, you'll definitely enjoy this dessert. I especially loved that it wasn't overly sweet, which let the matcha flavor really shine.

Very cool and chill vibes! Got a hojicha latte and a taro ube sago at Fernando's recommendation. Super fast with my drinks in the middle of dinner rush.

Ordered Tong Sui online for pick up and our co-workers ordered a group delivery of drinks. Online ordering is easy for both delivery and pick up. Drinks were well labeled on group order delivery. Service was friendly upon pick up. When picking up an order at the cafe, the cafe is lovely to enjoy your order indoors. plenty of tables and even has a bright window indoor patio. Love the coconut meat in the drinks.

The mango sticky rice and coconut pudding tastes exactly as advertised, and it's quite refreshing on a nice sunny day. The main issue is the cup is quite small for its high price point at $10; I think I could get more enjoyment out of a lot of other desserts at that price. 4.5/5

Spacious spot for a dessert shop! We have something like this in SoCal but it's called MeloMelo, which is pretty much a similar concept. Coconut Dessert! They have a lot more on their menu, including drinks. We only got to try the dessert, which I tried the Mango Mochi Coconut. My friend tried an Earl Grey and my other friend tried the Ube Taro Coconut. So we got try a taste of each heh. Starting with the Mango Mochi Coconut, the mango was pretty fresh! The Mochi is a lot more delicate than I thought. I thought there would be more of the chewy mochi ones, but this one is like the same mochi pudding they have at 3Cattea. Overall, the flavor was pretty good. The Earl Grey was pretty nice as well, very flavorful and very different than the fruit ones. You can definitely tell it's more tea flavor. The Ube Taro one honestly tasted like it's more Taro than Ube, but still pretty good. All 3 were pretty good, but not as expected as what you would think. Compared to MeloMelo, I do like MeloMelo a bit more because I like that consistency more. It's more jello-like and the coconut is more profound tasting. Here was nice to try, but this emphasizes more on the flavors. Consistency is lighter, less jello-like. Almost like pudding? Otherwise, the space is pretty cute. Plenty of space to seat around and eat. I like how they have little tables all around. Service was quick and efficient as well. You just order through the tablet lol.

Small doable portions. I wish their jars are larger - because I eat a lot. But otherwise, you get to sit in an amphitheater looking stage and enjoy the sweets with friends.

Persimmon Mochi! My favorite and soooo good!

AMAZING!!! One of my all time favorite dessert places in the bay!!! This particular location is SO cute. And also located in a very adorable shopping/restaurant grid, so the surrounding shops and streets are also so nice to walk around in! I was overwhelmed with the delicious options in flavors for the coconut pudding desserts! From persimmon (my favorite), to durian, to mango sticky rice, to black sesame...oh my god asian flavor galore. My friend and I got several flavors because we couldn't just pick one! We tried: Persimmon Mochi - This was my absolute favorite. The mochi at the top wasn't chewy by any means, but it had such a nice goopy mouth feel that was very different from the tofu-like pudding. The persimmon itself was so fresh and sweet, just simply addicting. I loved it so much I ordered another one to bring home. Durian - If you like durian, you'll like this. While the flavor was delicious and fresh, I wasn't particularly wowed because all the other flavors seemed to have some extra huzzah going for it. The durian one was mainly some mashed durian on top of the coconut pudding, without any pomp and circumstance. Don't get me wrong, still delicious, just a bit more straightforward than I expected. Mango Sticky Rice - LOVED this one!! This was a 3 layer dessert, with mango at the top, coconut pudding in the middle, and purple sticky rice at the bottom. The rice was an excellent chew texture, and the layered spoonfuls were divine! I would definitely get this flavor again!!! Black Sesame - I loved how the black sesame portion on the top was its own texture/consistency! I liked how thick it was, and fragrant. We also ordered the corn latte and the matcha cloud! The corn one was bit too grainy for me, especially towards the latter half, but the matcha cloud was SO good. The matcha was a deep earthy flavor, definitely quality! And the cream at the top was to die for. The interior is so adorable, and very comfortable to sit and catch up with a friend in! The staff is so nice, and I love that with every order, they hand you a cute little paper bag with utensils and napkins already set in it. Everything was just packaged in such a careful and whimsical way. Just such a treasure of a desert spot! There is a 3hr free parking garage only a block away. Various street parking spaces available too, but it gets pretty hard to find a spot since this area is so busy.

My family and I stopped by Marvel Cake during Mother's Day for a sweet treat on Sunday. This location is in the strip of Downtown Palo Alto and has limited parking (similar to the rest of the stores there, there is a lot of parking, and you will need to get lucky). My mom does like the Marvel Cake in their first location, so we swung by here to try this one out! Location-wise, this is a smaller shop than the original one in West San Jose with limited seating inside. I would say it's not work from home friendly however, I did see a college student next to me on her laptop so maybe I am incorrect here! The interior is nice and light, matching the elegance of the desserts. We ordered three items on the menu: the pillow cake, the bisou, and the blueberry lavender roll. Here are some thoughts: * Pillowcase cake: It may seem like this would be a fluffy cake due to the nature of its shape, but it is a gelatinous Jell-O cake with fruit jam. It was not bad, and tasted refreshing and light. I didn't know if I liked it at first, but ultimately I did come back for seconds and thirds, so this is approved. * Blueberry lavender roll cake: This was not at all what we were expecting. I did not taste any lavender, nor did it have a strong blueberry flavor. I think what threw our party off was the layer of gelatin that surrounded the cake. Texturally, we were not a big fan. * Bisou: This one was our favorite one. I appreciated the nutty crust in the bottom layer of the cake, while the filling was soft and bouncy. It is very sweet, however, but overall, I really enjoyed this one and feel like it would go great with a cup of coffee. What made the experience here a 3 instead of a 4 or 5 was the service we got. We weren't greeted when we came in, which, to be fair, is totally fine, maybe they were busy. However, the person helping us stared at us the whole time and did not really communicate well with us. When I tried to order the cakes for my family, they looked bothered that we were there, and I was not sure if they understood what pastries I was ordering because they did not repeat it back to us at all or confirm anything. When I did place the order, they slowly grabbed the plates and looked visually confused, which again, if they wanted to, I could have repeated it back to them. After they gathered everything, they put it in front of us and rang me up. The whole time, they did not say a word to me at all. Did not reconfirm anything, did not acknowledge we were there, did not say thank you. It was a bit strange, and I had to check with my family if it was me or if that was a really weird experience (it wasn't me).

Perhaps a bit on the fancier side, but it's a pleasant place to go for some coffee and a dessert. All of the desserts are beautiful and imaginative spins on classics with a middle eastern twist. Baklava Cheesecake: Such a pretty little packet. This is a bit contradictory, but the cream cheese filling is a little too sweet and dense and the outside should be a little more sweet, perhaps with syrup like on a traditional baklava. I missed that stickiness and moisture on the flaky exterior. But overall, it was fun to eat. Sweet Cheese Rolls: These were pretty good and quite creamy inside.
