The Kickin' Crab is located off the 60 and Day Street in a large shopping center . There is plenty of parking and includes indoor low table seating only with a large bar top. When you enter there is a small hostess area but like many areas in the restaurant it's unkept. There are a lot of areas that had trash and the employees were eating on the floor in front of patrons out in the open at a table. One thing that I must mention is the lighting - they have colorful lights all over and for whatever reason they have some of them set to constantly blink. It's extremely unsettling , I felt like I should wear sunglasses because it was bothering us so much. I went with the popcorn shrimp and Cajun fries . Both were unfortunately not good. The fries were undercooked and flimsy - the seasoning was powdery and tasteless. The food did come out quickly. Service was good , our waiter was attentive and polite. I've been to many crab boil restaurants and unfortunately this one just wasn't good so I won't be returning. read more

Service was the worst I have ever experienced in my life. I have worked in food service for 4 years now and I know what it's like to have bad days but the attitude I received was unacceptable. We walked in and they told us it's a 2 hour wait (probably because it was an hour and a half before closing and they didn't want to serve anyone else) even though no one was in the waiting area and there were over 11 available tables and all completely open. We sit on the bench, ready to wait. A party of 4 comes in and gets immediately sat so I ask another different employee and he walks us over to our table. The entire time we stayed we received so much attitude from our server and when we asked for things she would roll her eyes! Pretty Terrible service from the Employees we had. After checking out, we left no tip (because it was that bad) and she threw the receipt on our table. To cherry on top, my group got food poisoning the next day! Overall, 1/10 read more

We were a party of 9 and they charge a 18% gratitude for a party of 8, which is okay, no problem with that but at least work on your service. Service needs improvements. From walking into the door the male host was not super welcoming but oh well, ba humbug. But after sitting down our waitress was the most amazing and attentive girl. Update to my previous post regarding my concern for the restrooms: the manager informed me you must specifically ask servers for toilet liners because customers in the past would purposefully clog the toilet. I don't see how using layers of toilet paper to coverthe toilet with more efficient than the paper lining. Anyway, the food here is great. Hopefully in the future management considers filling the toilet covers so we don't have to ask staff. read more

On January 20, 2025, I visited this business with my family. We were seated immediately, which was great--definitely a good start. Normally, our experience here is excellent, but unfortunately, this time I was pretty disappointed. Our server, Ryan, was not up to par (2/10). We asked for condiments, but they were never brought to us. We also ordered a Dr. Pepper for our daughter, (which he forgot) and we had to ask again, and he later then brought. We had to flag down other employees because Ryan was nowhere to be found, but even then, we still didn't get what we needed. It left my partner and me feeling like we were being "those annoying customers" when, in reality, we were just trying to get basic things. When it came time to pay, nobody attempted to take our check, I had to walk to the bar area in order to get it taken care of. Service for that day: 2/10. Food majority of the time: 8/10, because it was still bomb as heck. read more

I have visited The Kicking Crab on Canyon Springs multiple times with my family, including my kids and granddaughter, and we've had good experiences in the past. However, during our most recent visit, we were extremely disappointed. My granddaughter, who has eaten there before, didn't want seafood this time and ordered a kids' meal. Shockingly, we were told that we couldn't eat there because she had outside food. This was very frustrating, as we are regular customers, and I was looking forward to dining here with my family. When I asked to speak to a manager, the lady that had told me we couldn't eat there said I'm the assistant manager she said that's out policy. I was left feeling very upset and disappointed by the way we were treated. As someone who enjoys this restaurant, it was incredibly disheartening to be denied service under these circumstances. I usually go for the shrimp bag with their signature seasoning, opting for mild or no spice so I can fully enjoy the flavors. However, they offer spicier levels if you like more heat. I often add potatoes, corn or sausage to the bag, but if I'm not in the mood for potatoes, I go for the Cajun fries with tartar sauce. Don't ask why, but the combination is excellent! The portion sizes are generous, and you can always take the leftovers home. The service here is great, with attentive and friendly servers making sure you have everything you need. Just a tip--make sure to wear stretchy pants and avoid white clothing if you don't want any staining from the delicious sauces. Overall, Kickin' Crab offers a fantastic seafood experience. Food was good as usual but the service was horrible. First they took me off the waitlist while I sat outside. They told me I would get a message when my table was ready the only message I got was one stating I was being removed from the waitlist. I walked in to ask about this and they said they called my name inside the waiting area but never checked on the propel waiting outside. I was seated on the spot. My party of three asked for water it took the server 20 minutes to get our water to us. We waited over an hour for our only shrimp boil with three sides of rice. People got sat around us who placed their order after us (when we got our water) and they received their food in a timely manner. Even their drinks were served in a timely manner! I have worked in the food service industry and have made hiccups with orders but I made sure to always let my customers know what was going on. Our server avoided us at all cost.
