    Chef Micah plating dessert
    Tom M.

Very interesting concept restaurant, showcasing a different chef and curated menu each evening in a warm and intimate chef's table-like setting. Visiting chef's range in experience from those with Michelin stars to private chefs to homemakers. In all cases they follow a thorough vetting process before the owner turns over the kitchen to them. On our evening we were fortunate to enjoy a fabulous meal from Chef Micah, whose focus on "curative cuisine" resulted in a meal that offered more than simply "wow" factor, but took a proactive approach towards health. Because the owner takes care of the operational back-end, the chef of the evening can focus on the creative process. A short talk followed our serving and it was fascinating to hear a bit about chef Micah's background and aspirations. Definitely a special evening!

My partner took me here to celebrate my birthday. It was an experience, first off, we got the whole restaurant to ourselves, the menu is rotating so it's different daily, and we got the Italian that day. It is ominous ambiance, with dark lighting in a small room. It started out really good, with the Beef crisp being our favorite, with a hint of truffle we can eat it endlessly. Then the rest of the food wasn't as big as a hit for us, the fish was very dry, and the pork belly was extremely salty I couldn't finish it. The plating itself was beautiful though, and we still enjoyed the experience. The food itself was 3 stars maximum. But this place has a lot of room for growth and potential, where buying an experience for a set course (max 10 people per reservation), is a great idea. I would have liked it if it tasted better. I would give it 4 stars becuase the service was so friendly. For the price though, about $350-400 for two people, is a lot for food we didn't enjoy. We hope this place gets better in the future, maybe I'll come back again when it does make those improvements.

I just came back from Chile, where I tried a pisco sour for the first time, and this one tasted just like the one I got in Valaparaiso. The reason my friend chose this place is the best part. She said the owner uses some of the proceeds to help feed people in the city who are food insecure. I love that. Makes every penny spent totally worth it. To top it off, the staff was wonderful. They were attentive and pleasant and made us feel at home.

We found our way to Mojito because they were in Seattle Met's best 50 restaurants list. Located in…read morethe Maple Leaf neighborhood across from the local park, Mojito is a Latin-inspired restaurant featuring flavors of Cuba, Caribbean, and Latin America. Luam Wersom, the owner, greets and waits on diners. The restaurant is charming and well-sized. Arriving early, we readily got a table. The food is flavorful, though I can't vouch for the authenticity. They offer two house-made hot sauce, one of which has habanero. The server said, "A little bit goes a long way." It has a kick but maybe 3.5-stars kind of spicy, toned-down spiciness for the American palate. Our server did a great job answering my questions. The Food: Arepa, with shredded beef, $7 - 4.5 Stars Menu: Venezuelan corn cake. Choice of ham and cheese, shredded beef, or pork These freshly made meat pockets are about 4" diameter, well-stuffed, and tastes great with the house hot sauces. Camarones Carmen Miranda (appetizer), $17.50 - 5 Stars Menu: Shrimp sautéed with grilled pineapple, mango, bell peppers and Cachaça, with tostones This appetizer version is my perfect dish - protein and produce. This reduced portion of the entrée size has 8 jumbo prawns! The flavors are savory, but also refreshing from the salad and fruits. The tostones are surprisingly filling. La Jefa, with chicken, $17.50 - 3.5 Stars With a choice of protein, this sandwich went home instead since the two small plates were well-sized. They use a Macrina bakery roll (nearby) to make these well-stuffed sandwiches. Though tasty, this dish didn't stand out as a Latin dish other than the tostones and mild guasacaca. Tierra Y Mar, $37 - 4 Stars This surf and turf dish is from the January specials menu -grilled octopus, NY strip steak, shrimps, with chimichurri sauce. The octopus is phenomenal - perfectly grilled, flavorful, and large. Next best are the two shrimps. The steak is grilled correctly but itself didn't have much flavor. The chimichurri sauce was lacking flavor, too. After dismissing my idea of pouring the light hot sauce on the steak, hubby did it and concluded the steak was much better. Lol.

Located by the troubled part of Aurora Ave N, they are a nice refuge from the chaos often happening outside their doors further down the street. It seems this restaurant could add an outside grill and drinks and there would be an incredible party. The staff seem to tone down the current atmosphere. Would love to have a grilled meat, arepas and drink cerebration. Just feel the staff are holding back on meat and drink party time. Or, it is just my wistful thinking about what happens when they close. First,I ordered the Guacamole and chips. Ooh, guacamole was freshly made to order and so good. I inhaled this. Found this fresh and delicious. Probably not South American, but I have no clue. Ordered some Arapeas, these were nicely filled with different meats and cheese. Could have made a meal of these, they were fresh, handmade and cooked to order.Love any type of cornmeal deliciousness. Next, had ://www.yelp.com/menu/el-patio-seattle/item/bandeja-paisa. It appears meat is well done in South America. Delicious, but quite chewy. So I enjoyed this place, to come and have home style food. I was given great service and even better food. Nice atmosphere. Bright and happy, transforms you from gloomy Seattle to a place of warmth. I refrained from ordering more drinks and coaxing staff into an impromptu party. I'm impressed with their food and drink selections.

Nice hot sauce selection, dried peppers, beverages, pan dulce, and meats and cheeses. The store isn't very large and aisles are short and tight, but selves are well stocked and organized. There is also hot food in the back, like a small restaurant. The food is buffet style so you just walk up to the counter and let the server know what you want. I got a chili relleno with rice and beans. I also got some of their carnitas. The chili relleno was delicious and made in the traditional way. I really enjoyed eating that. Rice and beans were not the best that I had, but were decent. Their tamales are also very good. They are seasoned well and the masa is tender. I wish I had something positive to say about the carnitas, but I don't. That was my least favorite. They were very dry and almost crispy when I had them and lacked flavor. I might have come on a bad day for those. If you want cabeza, they have that there a part of the buffet as well. There is parking available on the south side of the building and in the back. The owner is super nice, friendly, and helpful. I was looking for a specific hot sauce for my sister and asked him about it. He didn't have the brand I was looking for, but recommended a similar one. I trusted his rec and bought it. My sister loves it and now she has a new favorite and wants more. Great place to support!
