Last night, it took 15 minutes after we sat down for someone to just ask us, "has anyone helped you?" Twice when we ordered pupusas for our toddlers with drink orders, the kids' pupusas don't arrive until AFTER everyone else's main dishes have arrived (and after we have to remind the waitress). Cocktails have been forgotten, which we have had to remind them on as well. To our server's credit, she apologized many times and said the restaurant just got super busy at once. However, we noticed other tables (who arrived after us) were attended to and served sooner than we were. Given all the disorder, our family has decided we are just going to get takeout. I catch myself having to log on and update my review every few months just to reassure everyone that yes, it is still just as incredible as it has always been. Admittedly, the portion sizes seem to have gotten a little bit smaller over the years, but it doesn't take away from how special this place is. If anything, I love it even more now that I get to bring my toddler along. They absolutely love playing around in the sand while we eat, and sharing the West Indies plates as a family has become one of our favorite routines. I'm on a diet restriction so I just got the pollo tamale and OMG. Literally the best I've ever had and that's saying muchos. The guy helping me got me just filtered water too after I told him I have restrictions and can't drink all the amazing options they have. Honestly so worth finding parking to go here.
