We were rather confused upon arrival since no one informed us to wait to be seated or to just sit. After overhearing a conversation with staff and another customer, we realized it was a seat yourself situation. After we sat down, a host arrived to give us menus and give us drinks. We then sat for about 5 minutes before a waitress came over and took our order. She delivered our order fairly quick. The food was reasonably priced, but was nothing special. About a 1/4 of the way through our food, we both needed refills. Our waitress did not stop back once, nor did she walk past for us to ask. We ended up asking the hostess that was clearing our plates for refills and that was after considering getting up to do it ourselves. After that, we sat patiently waiting for our waitress to make the final arrival at our table to deliver the check. For a place that had such great reviews for the food, it was a let down. As far as the service, we would've been happy if one of the 3-4 hostesses running around had stopped by our table for a refill or a check in as well, but unfortunately, service was lacking.

I came here after watching some competitive food eaters do a challenge here. Now, there isn't anything that I could find about this challenge so not sure how much they are advertising it, but the food looked great so I had to go check it out. I went for a late breakfast and struggled with what I wanted. I was excited to discover you could get a side of the corned beef hash so I went with the country fried steak and had to get a side of breakfast links. The corned beef hash was really and I can see it being better with an over easy egg on top. The sausage links were a healthy size and tasted pretty wonderful. My favorite thing though was that sausage gravy. I seriously feel it's the best I remember ever having. I am going back soon to try the biscuits and gravy. The value here is also something to note. I found the prices to be a great value with the amount and quality of food I received. Because of that, I can see why the place had a ton of regulars in there. While I don't eat out for breakfast a ton, this place may change that.

This was the restaurant of the week to try out since I'm in Waukesha frequently. This review isn't a bad review and more of a strange prime rib experience review. The place is weird looking because it's got an old school vibe with the low lunch counter/stools and semi modern tables, exposed brick with wood walls. It seems like a family run businesses with people called grandpa and grandma by the younger guy. I ordered a Bloody Mary spicy hurt me style and it was pathetic looking and far from hurt me. I ordered the prime rib dinner extra rare that comes with a home made dinner roll that I declined because I don't care for bread and butter like previous generations. The prime rib has bourbon glazed carrots, sautéed mushrooms and mashed potatoes with gravy. My prime rib looked awful because it had a brown hue to it instead of the pink hue I'm used to and no herbed/seasoned crust at all. The bourbon glazed carrots were awful because the were cooked to mush like baby food. The mushrooms were sliced paper thin so my fork was useless as a fork and I had to shovel them up and stick the meat with most falling off. The mashed potatoes and gravy were bland with no seasoning. The prime rib was bland because of no seasoned crust and not rare but not medium either so it's the weirdest prime rib I have ever had. On the plus side it wasn't super lean so it had nice flavorful fat in the meat and once salted it was very good, I hate a super lean prime rib because fat is flavor. Here's where the review goes off the rails and despite not getting the red rare slab of meat I'm used to it was super tender and very moist/juicy with no chewy weird pieces. It was actually quite good and I suspect the the whole rib roast was over cooked to start with and there was no way I was ever getting any red meat from it so if your not a red meat person for prime rib I would get the prime rib here but the sides are super average.

Spicy Bloody Mary with bacon, bread n butter pickle and a block of cheese.

Best Mom and Pop place we have been to in a while!! My husband said 'mark this as a place to come back to!" The owners were mixing drinks, delivering them and running the register. Food was delicious, drinks great and service was wonderful! No wait time at noon on Sunday, everything was quick and efficient!

Another day off brunch with my husband. We wanted to try something new. We arrived around 10 a.m. and were promptly greeted and seated. Our waitress was friendly and the restaurant was clean. It wasn't very busy with only about 4-5 other people. The coffee was okay. I prefer stronger coffee. It wasn't acidic. I ordered the Meat Lovers Skillet. I didn't have a choice of how the egg was cooked. There were some sausage, ham, bits of bacon and eggs. Potatoes were deep fried and seasoned with seasoned salt. The hot sauce was not very spicy and had some floral taste to it. My husband thought it was fruity like pineapple. Overall not bad. Prices are not bad. Value for price paid was good. Is that the saying? If it was any pricier I would probably not recommend.

Country fried steak over medium eggs

Best breakfast around. Period . Usually don't like to eat out because I'm always disappointed but this place is great. Smiling faces , good fast service. And great homemade style dishes

Had to stop in at Sendik's next door when we realized the restaurant had changed ownership..thought…read morewe would give it a try and thank goodness we did! The service from Stephanie was outstanding..above and beyond kind and thoughtful attention. The food came to our table hot, which is definitely unusual for these types of breakfast restaurants and delicious too. They pay attention to small details like jelly/jams organized in container, salt and pepper mills are full plus if you order hot tea it's served in a glass carafe and maple syrup is warmed...details that are much appreciated in this day of fast foods

First time here as The Breakfast Place, although we had visited when it was Brunch…read more Food: They have a solid menu featuring all of the typical breakfast favorites. I like to try something a little different, so I ordered the Avocado Toast with Eggs. I requested my eggs over easy, and they came out perfectly cooked. For my side, I chose the hash browns instead of the fruit. I asked for them to be extra crispy, and in hindsight, I should have asked for them to be extra-extra crispy. They were still very good. Service: We arrived right as they opened, so there were only a few occupied tables. We were seated immediately. Our server did a great job getting us settled in, gave us plenty of time to look over the menu, and never made us feel rushed. The service was friendly, attentive, and efficient throughout our meal. Atmosphere: The restaurant has a welcoming feel. Large windows fill the dining room with natural light, and the tables and booths provide plenty of space. The noise level was low enough to enjoy a quiet conversation. I also liked how they used wood posts and beams to break up the large dining room, making it feel more intimate. Nice touch. Overall, it was a solid breakfast experience. I'd love to see a few more inventive daily specials to complement the menu.
