This place is amazing. We went here for breakfast while on vacation, and enjoyed it so much. The pies are delicious, just make sure to get there early, because they're all gone by 11am and slim picking at 10:00am. Definitely get a coffee while there, though avoid the Cold Brew coffee... it's not the best. The staff is really nice, chatty, and polite. They also have some cool merch you can buy while there! There is limited seating inside, so make sure you're ready to eat outside. They also have this cool walk-up window where you can order from. I didn't use it because we wanted to get the full experience inside. Overall, it's a great place for breakfast. This was a cool coffee shop that was right up my alley. The place has a welcoming, chill vibe and the coffee was really good! They had a nice selection of different coffee drinks as well as some other drinks and they also serve up different savory mini pies which looked delicious. I usually drink iced coffee, but it was chilly so I opted for the hot version of one of their signature drinks, the mocha nut latte. The drink had a nice foam to it and was tasty without being too sweet. I like to taste the coffee, not just sugar so this was perfect. I found myself wishing I had ordered a large! The cups they use for to go orders are nice also; they have a layer of insulation so you don't have to use one of the cardboard things to keep your hand from feeling too hot and still keeping the drink warm. The lids also have a little hole that allows you to still take in the aroma of the coffee while drinking it. The barista was friendly as well. I thought it was a great coffee spot and since they seem to have several locations in the St. Augustine area, I hope they one day expand to Orlando! read more

I visited yesterday on a brief reprieve from the rain dampening my beach writing. Not only did they have a cozy place for me to sit and recharge, their pour-over decaf did the same. HOT, and to my (probably picky) preference for oat milk and Splenda--they provided. And once I was warmed and dry, I was able to enjoy a local IPA. Awesome local coffee shop! Inside looks decorative and relax, I would definitely stop here to get some work done and enjoy a cup of coffee. The have a express service area next to the parking area if you are in a rush and don't to go inside the store. Server was nice and friendly, she explained the menus and suggested her favorite pie and drink. We ordered two pies, Rasher and Corker pies, and drinks, hot Aussie and iced P.C. Heard about all of the positive reviews for this place and I was looking forward to getting my coffee here. I am a coffee fanatic and I like to support local joints. It's a cute little place, the line was not long at all. However, I like to be greeted with a friendly hello, a smile and eye contact. I got none of that here. The young lady at the cash register just looked at me. I asked her one question, she answered it and then she rang me up. When I walked over to wait for my drink I purposely made eye contact with the young lady who was making my drink and said "good morning". She looked at me and did not reply. I paid attention as she greeted the other people in the line behind me. They were all greeted with a smile and a hello or good morning. I don't want to assume anything but it's difficult not to wonder if they're not used to seeing many Black people in here? I hope I'm wrong. I don't know what the other explanation is for not receiving a friendly greeting. The coffee was just OK. read more

The service is not as fast as Starbucks, but the quality is so much better. Very much worth the wait if you have the patience. I highly recommend the Honey Badger! We sat outside on their very cute patio, with two kids. The inside is pretty small and not terribly kid friendly; but outside there is plenty of room. I plan to go back tomorrow morning. read more

These folks know coffee. As a roaster myself, they freshly roast and brew for optimal enjoyment. Atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. Staff was friendly and patient. Everything was clean. Great branding. Prices were a little above average but as a coffee lover it was worth it. I had the Guatemala Cruz Grande brewed in a wave. Cupping notes were dead on: floral, strawberry, and sweet cream. It got more sour and tangy as it cooled and wasn't as enjoyable, but despite this, I would still recommend Kookaburra Coffee. My wife had an Iced Mochanut Latte - one of the best iced coffee drinks she's had. Worth every penny. I would come here hands down over Starbucks. read more

I was visiting at Augustine and needed some coffee before heading back on road. This place was on my way so I decided to stop by and give it a try. I can't say enough good things about the friendly customer service I received. Jenna was the person who walk me through their menu and told me about their famous honey badger latte and meat pie! I can tell you that both latte and pie tasted amazing and great quality for the price I paid. I spent about 30 min in store and Jenna check on me like 3 times to make sure I was happy and didn't need anything else even though the store was completely full. I have been to The Kookaburra in their location in downtown Saint Augustine, and I was craving the beverage that a friend had the last time we were there, and I only got to taste on that occasion: The Honey Badger. It's a latte made with honey, cinnamon, and The Kookaburra's homemade vanilla. OK, here's the thing... I don't really like honey, and in general, I think cinnamon in coffee is icky. I am a person that roasts his own beans and have a variety of espresso machines at home. I have been coming to the beach for years - initially, the espresso was ok and fairly consistent. But, thanks have to say todays espresso (flat white) was pretty disgusting and I don't say that lightly. It was bitter, over extracted and tasted like the beans had been roasted eons ago. Suffice to say I give up on this place. They have a really good espresso machine but the baristas and bean matters the most. To boot - the "Aussie Pie" was pretty tasteless. Not much bacon and the egg was rubber. I have tasted pies both in Australia and in New Zeal- these pies are not close. read more
