No apology, no acknowledgment. When the bill finally came, the rolls were still on it. I pointed it out to the waitress. She nodded and walked away, bill in hand, and did nothing. A few minutes later the owner appeared to collect payment, as if the conversation had never happened. When I brought it up, she informed us the rolls were cooked to perfection, that this is simply how they're made, and that we had eaten from them. Two bites. Between two people. She wouldn't let us get a word in. Our friends tried to reason with her, pointing out that we'd just had a nice meal and simply didn't enjoy one dish. She just kept going.
