We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. We came as a large group of mothers and daughters, looking forward to spending quality time together, but instead we felt completely unwelcome from the moment we arrived. The girls were repeatedly told to go outside, even though they were not being disruptive or excessively loud. They were simply excited kids enjoying themselves, and the staff handled the situation with very little patience or understanding. What made the experience even worse was the owner's attitude. He was extremely rude, dismissive, and made it clear that he wanted our group to leave as quickly as possible. Rather than treating paying customers with respect, he made us feel like we were an inconvenience. We understand that restaurants need to maintain a pleasant environment for all guests, and we would have appreciated a polite conversation if there were concerns. Instead, we were met with hostility and poor customer service. Unfortunately, because of how we were treated, we won't be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant to other families or groups looking for a welcoming place to dine. read more

I had the most disappointing experience at Trattoria Natalie. This so called "kosher" Italian restaurant is nothing more than an overpriced, bland, and poorly managed establishment. The food is ridiculously overpriced for how bland and uninspired it is. The food took forever to arrive, and when it finally did, my dish was cold and clearly had been sitting around for a while. When I politely brought this up to the owner, he was incredibly rude, rolled his eyes, and tried to blame us for "taking too long to eat"which was a blatant lie. Aside from it being cold, it's definitely not edible, unless you are STARVING. The owner's unprofessionalism doesn't stop at customer service; he is one of the most unprofessional people I've ever encountered. He treats his staff horribly, creating a toxic work environment that you can feel just by sitting in the restaurant. It's clear he has no idea how to run a business, let alone one that relies on repeat customers. On top of that, They even charge for water. Which tells you everything you need to know about how greedy this place is. With the way this place is run, it's no surprise that the majority of reviews are 1 star. How do I give this place 0 stars? I don't even know where to start. The food is pretty mid really nothing so special but the prices make it seem like you're at a really fancy high class restaurant. I mean the place is you're paying are insane for the food that you're getting. Beyond overpriced. Service I don't even know where to begin. First of all the owner is an elderly Frenchman, who is rude to basically everyone. I had a terrible experience here multiple times due to his attitude. He also hires underage high school kids as waitresses making the ambience just seemed very unprofessional for something that's supposed to be a high class dairy restaurant. Two out of three times that I've been here he has yelled at me the first time was because I didn't tip enough. Last time I checked tipping amount depends on the service that you receive and I wasn't so happy with the service so I didn't tip a great amount. Let's not forget that tipping is optional and I still did leave a bit of a tip. Just not a huge amount. He yelled at me and the people that I was with that it was extremely rude not to tip more. The other time was because I had left my wallet at a table at the restaurant, and when I went back to see if it was still there, he ended up just yelling at me and telling me he didn't have it. I also called to try to speak to someone over the phone to avoid him because I obviously wanted my wallet back and he ended up being the one on the phone and screamed at me even more. Overall, terrible experience if you're looking for a good dairy place, I would recommend anything but this. Formaggi recently opened up in the city. It's a bit smaller, but the food is way better and better price and the service is amazing. All the waiters there and the owner is so beyond kind. If you find yourself in the valley, there's great places like Roladin and popular by Tel Aviv that just opened. read more

I have been driving by this place for such a long time and never went inside I'm so happy I did. I decided to stop by for dinner with my daughter and we both love this restaurant. They have some unique offerings on their menu the staff was super nice and went over the options that we can order. Came here for lunch today with a couple of clients. First let me say customer service was wonderful! Very nice people. Their prices are very high for the quality of food. I had eggplant parmigiana and it seemed like all breading and cheese. I didn't even taste any eggplant. The noodles and marinara sauce lacked any seasoning. Iced tea was good though, it's a cute spot with outdoor dining too. Parking at meters. 119.00 before tip for a salmon salad and two eggplant parmigiana. Sorry but I wouldn't come back. Had a Greek salad to start. Dressing was thankfully light, feta cheese was plentiful as were the olives. Margarita Pizza was good; crust is quite thin here. We asked for it to be non-crunchy, and they slightly undercooked it - perfect. The risotto with shiitake mushrooms was very tasty. The salmon with BBQ sauce and apples was an unusual and intriguing special, which left us with dinner for the following day as well. Service was excellent. The owner of this restaurant displayed a level of inhumane treatment towards others that I have not seen in a long time. I highly encourage you to not support this terrible man and his business. I brought my father here tonight, with the hope of having a nice dinner. My father, nearing 80 years old, who still works a full time job and is in LA temporarily, helping care for my sister who is suffering from Cancer, had a particularly hard day today. He wanted a quiet place to eat a kosher meal and recover a bit from the day. When we were greeted, my father asked in a kind, mild mannered way (true to his personality), "Is there a quiet spot where we can sit?" The owner took great offense to the question, as if we were wishing an empty restaurant on him, and told us to leave and eat somewhere else. I explained to the man that my father is exhausted after a hard day, and he is in town for the purposes of caring for his ill daughter. And, still, the man insisted we leave and go somewhere else. He was rude, dismissive, aggressive, and left me feeling such sadness for my poor father, who simply asked if there was a quiet place to sit. If you value kindness and respect at all, please choose from the number of nearby kosher restaurants instead of this one. They will be kinder and certainly able to handle a simple question from a nice person. read more

We even had food come out cold. If you try to communicate with the waiters, they will become flustered and confused as they all appear to be high school students without previous experience. I really wanted to love this place, but with the heavy price tag and mediocre food I'll pass on it for next time. I make it all better at home. My family got several pasta dishes and I got the Nicois. I'll focus on things that I actually tasted. 1) Margherita pizza was lacking. It was really salty and I would have liked some fresh basil on top, there was no Parmisan cheese on there which is what makes the pizza what it is. A Margherita pizza is made with high quality grain flower not all purpose, Parmesan cheese, fresh basil, fresh mozzarella, and marinara sauce. What I got was an Americanized cheese pizza with some basil thrown on top. D- 2) Garlic and Olive Oil Pasta What we got was a sad version of Penne Olio e Olio. The garlic tasted pickled which is not the correct way to make the dish. The pasta was also way over cooked. 3) Nicois, this is actually a super easy dish to make so I had a lot of hope for it. The tuna used was not the quality that you serve to people partially raw, it was hard to chew. There was no mustard in the vinaigrette which is what makes the dressing in the Nicois unique and special. 4) I tried the apple cobbler, cheese cake, tiramisu, and chocolate lava cake. I'm not a baker but I've had way better. The tiramisu needed more coffee in the cake, it was bland. The cheese cake was lacking the crust was sad. They also serve Mexican style food which I wouldn't if the focus of your menu is Italian/ French food. Sadly this was the best item on the menu. So maybe go back to the drawing board and refocus on the menu and the quality. read more

I don't know where to start. Billed as "a kosher restaurant that your non-kosher friends will like"....NOT on your life. Could be one of the very worst dinners we have ever had. The pastas were like mush mac and cheese, and were allegedly alfredo, but I swear it was over cooked mac and cheese kids noodles with some butter parmigiana. A feta salad which I could hardly taste any dressing (and couldn't find the feta) and the most terrible eggplant parmigiana we could imagine. Two slices of eggplant about 6mm thick and 2.5 cm round, with cheese and sauce (more on the sauce to come) and what I shudder to say was a side of "pasta"....again the ubiquitous mush of small shell pasta, this time smothered with a red sauce I can only describe as a very canned taste like Chef Boyardee. The bill was super high for this poor level of quality, or dare I say non-quality. I am sorry, but calling this a trattoria or anything resembling an Italian restaurant, is a miscarriage of food justice. To top it off, there is zero ambience (just a big cold room) if you are sent to upstairs Siberia. A stark empty room with even less ambience, and colder (not a/c colder) than an oil worker's dorm in Siberia. Speaking of air conditioning, theirs' has a vibration that causes an entire North side of the upstairs room to move and annoyingly hum in your ear. Last, don't think real waiters. There are a bunch of kids who can't get orders straight and the food kept being delivered to the wrong tables all night, even though they have numbers on tacky wire stands on top of each table. This place should never have had a second upstairs dining room, as the kitchen can't take it. Think one person getting their soup and the salad coming 12 minutes later and first going to a wrong table. You get the picture. Management needs lessons in what real service is. Overpriced, undermanaged and beyond bad. Even if they had comped the meal and given us that 14 dollar bottle of terribly overpriced Argentine merlot (at believe it or not.. 55 dollars!) for free, we wouldn't come back NOT EVER. I only wish I had taken pictures, but couldn't wait to leave. ZERO. The plethora of 1 stars for this place is to be believed. Only sorry I didn't look first. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. I have never experienced such poor service and had such a strange experience at a restaurant before. We parked on the street at a meter (free). I didn't see valet parking and not sure if they have it. Just regular lighting. While that's a little bit of a minus for me on the one hand because I would of liked a romantic Italian kosher place. It's also a plus because it means that it is also fine to come here with your friends. -Not really a good place for kids -Looks like there is a party room upstairs too. This would be a nice place for a party. Wondering what to wear? Dress "nice". It's not casual but it's not dressy either. It came with two special sauces (no butter) which were alright and a nice change but not really my cup of tea. The pizza did look delicious but we didn't order it because it comes as a pie, not by the slice. I would definitely try it though next time. 1. Strawberry Salad -Loved how this salad sounded. It had lettuce, strawberries, feta cheese, dried cranberries and a strawberry dressing. - It was very refreshing. Felt like I was eating food just picked from the garden. -The one caveat I had was that the dressing needed to be mixed in better. At first I thought there wasn't enough dressing but discovered that was not the case when I got to the bottom of the salad. -The feta seemed to be having a bit of an identity crisis as it was neither big and firm or small and scattered but somewhere in between. I think it would have been better if it was crumbled on the salad. The cheese is a star ingredient. It needs to be treated as such. 2. Spinach and Artichoke Penne Pasta -At first I didn't want to get this pasta because it came with alfredo sauce. The only alternative was a make your own pasta OR a plain pasta with tomato sauce. ALL the other pastas had alfredo. -While there was an interesting variety of pasta dishes, the sauce for said dishes need VARIETY. I'm envisioning marinara, arribiata, pesto, lemon sauce etc. One sauce for all the dishes is a BORING. Although, on the plus side, it probably means the chef has mastered this sauce. In this case, (s)he has! -I was actually pleasantly surprised by the alfredo sauce. I was expecting a heavy cream sauce which is the reason why I hate alfredo. But this sauce was classy. It was light. It melted in my mouth. I wasn't too rich either. It's the perfect alfredo. -They used the right amount of sauce for the pasta too. Not too much and not too little. This is a very important element of the dish and they got it just right. -'The way something is cooked is also very important. The artichokes and spinach and pasta were all cooked just right. LOVE! 3. Chocolate Lava Cake -The presentation was so beautiful that the people next to us asked what it was. -Just the right amount of vanilla ice cream on top. Don't get it without the ice cream. It needs it. -If you love chocolate, order this. SERVICE _______________ -The waitress was very attentive. We had to ask her to come back so we could discuss what to get but not to wait a long time. She came in the perfect amount of time. She also checked on us and asked us how we liked our food. -We split out food and we did not have to ask to get extra plates. They brought them. We also did not have to ask for serving utensils. This was EXCELLENT service. -Everything came out pretty quickly too. -Those nifty little buttons that people posted in the pictures on yelp to call the staff weren't there this time. I was kind of disappointed because I wanted to try it. Overall ________________ Definitely a MUST TRY for kosher LA. A kosher restaurant your non-kosher friends will also love.
