Saw advertisement for this spot at the bar (Desert Room) down the street. I'm a big BBQ fan and had to stop by. Walked in to a nice greeting, and ordered a 3 meat combo. Brisket, pulled pork, and hot link. Really good flavor on all 3. Please give these guys a shot if you're into good BBQ. Looking forward to trying more of the meats. PIT was having a soft opening this weekend so while nn Gardena visiting my brother Floyd we decided to give it a try and we are so glad we did. I ordered a 3 meat plate which consisted of brisket, ribs, and jalapeño and cheddar sausage the 2 sides I chose were mac and cheese and baked beans we really enjoyed the food here. I would definitely recommend The LA PIT. With it being a soft opening not all the meats and side were available but once they have their grand opening I'm sure there will be a whole menu to choose from. Service, the guy brought out food and that's all he did. The had no menu to sit down and look at. We had to look at the one above his head. It is hard to decide what to get. I felt like he was rushing us because he was just standing there looking at us like hurry up. The tables were not clean we had to clean them ourselves. This place is extremely underrated! In addition to all of the meats being of outstanding quality, they have the best barbeque sauce of any place in LA County----and I've been to almost all of them. The meat is decent enough but for some reason they are skimpy on the sauce. You can see how much sauce they give on pictures (especially Instagram). The sauce is good but not enough of it. I suggest they look other BBQ places pictures to see what people expect. read more

Wanted to try out the new bbq spot that is around the corner from my house and was not disappointed. I ordered the 3 meat plate with pork ribs, brisket, and chicken and boy the flavor was AMAZING. I had ordered 2 plates to feed my picky kids and they were inhaling the chicken and brisket! The brisket was so soft and loaded with flavor. The chicken was moist and seasoned so well. I chose fries and Mac n cheese as my sides and didn't even get a chance to try the Mac n cheese because my daughter didn't want to share. But if she likes it, I know it must've tasted great. My husband wanted to try out this place and we were not disappointed. I love brisket but actually preferred the ribs. The meat was falling off the bone and the sauce that came with it had a little kick. I didnt realize until after I was done that we had different sauces - so I will have try to them next time. I got the brisket, pork ribs, beans, and potato salad. I'm giving 2 stars for the brisket, it was the best thing I ordered. The ribs were not tender at all. The sides are NOT homemade. I came to the restaurant around closing time. The staff was really nice and accommodating. I ordered the brisket, the hot links, and the chicken sausage. The brisket was very tender and juicy, the hot links were good, and the chicken sausage was good. My wife and mother-in-law liked the potato salad. Just opened around the corner so tried them out. Got brisket, hot links, polish sausage, ribs, beans and mac & cheese. All the meats were amazing. The brisket was exactly what I wanted. The ribs were fat and delicious. Both sausages were tasty. My husband is picky and specific with bbq and wanted a bit more rub, but kept eating and we'd both gladly make this a regular stop when we're lazy to cook. (Sides were a bit bland, if I'm being honest) Staff was super friendly and attentive. Hope it sticks around and does great business. Gardena Blvd needs a revival and LA Pit (along with Guiliano's) could be nice anchors to lure new, better businesses. read more

Brisket flavor was pretty good, it was a bit warm like it didn't come off the pit halfway way through and it was already cold. The Mac n cheese taste like Stoffers or frozen that's been heated up, the hot links taste like they are the cheap kind like Bar- S or something, the potato salad taste like it came from a package and the bbq beans taste like they came from a can. The place is unassuming, but don't let that fool you. The food more than makes up for the ambiance. The owner was really nice and helpful as well we were a first time visitor. They had just opened a week before. My husband and I ordered the 3 meat combo (pulled pork, brisket & ribs). It came with 2 sides and bread. Customer service was great, quantity of food for the price was not it to be honest. The the quality was subpar at best. This isn't smoked BBQ. It seems like everything was either baked, or boiled. There was not smoky flavor, even the Mac and cheese was bland. The best part of the meal was the Jalepeño poppers, and they weren't even that great. The restaurant was clean at least. But for the price not worth it. Over $30, plus extra for the subpar brisket that was probably cooked in a crock pot. Pulled pork looks like chicken, the beef link was bland as well. Let me start with the customer service. The owner was AWESOME! He acknowledged us when we walked in the door while he was tending to other customers. He recognized that it was our first time there so he took his time explaining his menu and making suggestions. He patiently answered our questions while we contemplated our order. We ordered the Rib Plate with Mac and cheese, potato salad, and fresh roll and the Meet the meat fries with brisket. The ribs are fall off the bone tender and yummy even without the BBQ sauce. The sauce is not too sweet with a small tang. We got the spicy BBQ sauce, but it was not as spicy as I was expecting, but just enough heat to give the meat a kick. The potato salad was definitely homemade with time, thought, and care. The meat fries were everything! First off, there was sooo much. I'm stuff still and it has been 45 mins since I ate and I only ate half of them! Super tender and flavorful brisket with the sweet, tangy, and slightly spicy sauce over crinkle fries with shredded cheese and sour cream (i didn't want the onions that come them).
