Stayed at the Lakefront for one evening after flying into Anchorage for a little road trip. Check in was super simple and the one of the first things they asked was if I have a floor preference. My only preference was a good nights sleep on the eve of my birthday. I requested any floor but not near any children if possible. I'd stay here again if in town. I'm sure it's a prime spot in the summer months. Lots of taxidermy here, so if that sort of thing freaks you out - maybe skip an Alaska trip ;) or keep it to where the animals are alive. Felt a little like night at the museum downstairs when I wandered down to see if the restaurant had soup (they didn't). It was very quiet end of October but served its purpose - got on the road early the next morning to head out to Homer. read more

Nice clean rooms. The one we were in had no view at all ( we were looking at a wall or parking lot) Nice restaurant/bar with good food. We ate breakfast and dinner there 2-3 times. My favorite was the french toast for breakfast. Hint sit out on the deck area for dinner and watch the planes come and go on lake hood( largest/ busiest sea plane air port in the area- peak time of year could see upwards of 700 planes come and go( what out trolly guide told us). Is within walking distance to Gwennies ( a good local spot for breakfast and dinner) and several other things. They do provide a shuttle to/from airport and to downtown Anchorage ( drop you off right in middle of shopping/eating area). read more

Yelp 100 Challenge 2018 - # 32/100 Made a reservation through Hotels.com and as with 3rd parties you get the least liked rooms that are available, at least we didn't get one that's down the maze of confusing hallways like other reviews pointed out. Upon check-in we were asked if we preferred any floor. I answered 'No smoking with a view.' We got a room on the third floor which was just around the elevator, close enough but not so much that you can hear the racket. I immediately looked out the window and we got a view alright. The view of the back parking lot and large garbage bins. The bathroom had a wooden sliding door with no locks and swings in and out of the door frame. So weird. When you venture out of the hotel you can actually see Lake Hood. It was gorgeously frozen with snow on treetops this time of the year. The bed was actually comfortable and soon I was happily tossing and turning between the crisp sheets and fluffy pillows. The reception/front desk is quite nice with the polar bear in a glass case and busts of other animals. Although I in no way do not condone taxidermy, it is hard not to appreciate the majestic beauty of the polar bear. I like the free shuttle to and from the airport or downtown. I would give negative stars if I could. Do not stay at this hotel!!! Two rooms had bed bugs.. then the staff refused to refund our money.. charged us a cancellation fee of 65.00 even though we didn't use the room at all.. our luggage ( thank god) never even made it to the room.. I was told the general manager would call me when the person returned from vacation.. that call never came.. we attempted to call and leave messages, but it looks as though they plan on ripping off a military family who was in Alaska visiting family that was just placed on hospice during Christmas. Horrible experience. Mistreated,yelling at me aggressively and was told the police was going to be called on me,told me to leave the premises because I am not a guest there in which I had proof that I had reservations in which security refused to look at and even went as far as telling me I was going to be shipped back to the airport. All of this going on at 2:00am and explaining myself to the only security Alex is the staff that is responsible for his unprofessional behavior. I have never ever felt humiliated in my life. I will never return or book with this hotel again and I will make sure that people know of this unacceptable behavior. We were put on hold by desk for over 10 minutes at that point we gave up and went down there. There was no smoke detector in our room. Just an empty spot with wires where it was supposed to be. Due to our early flight time we checked in for 9 hours. We checked out at 3am at desk only to receive a text at 12 (while in Seattle airport) that check out was 12 and to let them know when we had left. Overall this was a waste of 300 bucks. The accommodations and service were fine. With the help of our travel agent, we prepaid for our rooms in advance of our stay. As is customary, card card information was provided for each of the four rooms our family used at the time of check in. We had an extremely early check out the next morning to start our Alaskan cruise, so final bills were to be emailed. To date we have not received any statements. More concerning were the $250 charge that occurred for two of the rooms on our credit card several days later. Despite several phone calls to individuals at the both the front desk and reservations, and after leaving voicemails and even an email on the Millennium website, we have had no response from the Lake Front Anchorage. Our travel agent was able to help, and through her contacts we were told that we would be credited. The hotel's explanation was that the the wrong credit card had been charged. The pending credit appeared on our credit card website, so we thought everything had been resolved. After 3 days the credits had not posted, we went to our card's website and the pending credits had disappeared. We are now over over two weeks out from our one night stay at the LakeFront Anchorage and we still have not been credited for the mistaken $500 charges. read more

I was really disappointed by my stay here. My colleagues and I were coming in from a rather rough stay at another hotel in Juneau and really looking forward to a stay in what we thought was a nice hotel. Not so much. The photos featured on the website are clearly old as I found the hotel to be dated, unclean and clearly worn. The ceiling tile in my room was coming down which added to my feelings of general unease. This could be a great hotel if updated to today's standards. There's a lot that's already been said about this place. It's technically a 3.5 resort (multiple restaurants, business center, airport shuttle) but it doesn't excel at anything in particular. Wifi is a bit slower than most. As of this writing there's a "complimentary" and a "premium" Wifi tier. The latter will get you about 9Mbps Down/3 Up and well, that's not very premium. In other words, you'll be able to answer emails and watch Netflix, but your Zoom meetings and video calls are going to be less than great. If you happen to be in town and catch the hotel on a good deal, whether by sale or those third party discount booking sites, it can be a good value, but I can't justify anyone paying normal or "rack rate." It's an older building, the floors creak (which you can hear people above and outside your room) and the lighting is a bit dreary at night. Oh and even though I didn't think I minded, they do go a bit overboard with the taxidermy in the lobby. Feels like a Natural History Museum down there! read more

Stayed here for a Labor Day weekend. Came it little early, they can't accommodate us coz the rooms are not ready so we had to wait for 45min The FOH gave us the room at the first floor, we're supposed to have the Lake side, yah over looking the maintenance garage lake side that is, we can't even open the curtain coz we're so visible from the outside, not to mention she's not a very pleasant FOH, must be tired They're charged us for cleaning our room!??? For real? For the price I will expect a little better hotel, the lobby is messy. In our floor going to our room the housekeeping cart was on the hallway all night. The floor where we at was never vacuumed for days, there's the same dirt been on the floor since Saturday. There's a cable hanging on the wall connected to TV The only good thing about this place is the lake. Food is so expensive, they even charged you $3 for cup of weak coffee. This is a pretty poor excuse for a hotel. Here are some reasons: King bed requested six months in advance but not available; Sleeping room lacked adequate curtains or shades for the 22 hours of seasonal daylight; Bathroom sliding door didn't slide easily at all; Surly desk staff were unapologetic about reservation foul ups. You're better off sleeping in your car than these subpar accommodations. Marriott Courtyard is across the street. Very sorry I didn't stay there. read more

A majority of the rooms are on the street side with no view and constant traffic noise. Had I known the condition of the hotel & rooms, I would have hedged my bets on a less expensive hotel a few miles further from airport. Horrible experience, recommended by our travel agent. We arrived several hours early and were told we could check in early, but it would be an additional $50 charge. Ridiculous, so we declined. When we came back, our assigned room faced the street, not the lake, the hallways were covered with lint and debris, the room was dusty, walls splattered with an unknown substance and the beds was obviously very old and well used. We had booked a king room, but "they were all gone." The AC consisted of a window unit which was covered by the drapes, blocking air flow and shutting it down prematurely. It was 80 degrees in the room all night. We would have opened the windows, but the screens were bent and loose, allowing the multitude of mosquitoes to enter. The clock was set to the wrong time. ????? I fixed it, but why would it be left up to the guest? The front desk personnel were not unfriendly, with the exception of the woman at the desk on 06/09/2023 morning. She was very pleasant. One acceptable attribute was the fish and chips my wife and I had in the restaurant. The fried halibut was very good. The server had no personality, but at least she delivered the drinks and dinner in a timely manner. This place needs a serious capital investment to make it acceptable. The employees need customer service training. Does anyone actually manage this place? Stay away. There are certainly better places yo spend the night. This place is way past its expiration date. The tables are sticky. The cucumber martini was not drinkable. The rooms are shabby as are the restaurant and the lobby. The elevator is loud with a scraping sound and the shuttle from the airport sounds like the brakes are metal on metal. We recently stayed two nights. Both sleep nights were a total disaster. "Suite" 1004 has a full view of the trash dumpster and the strange conference room feel. The room also has Murphy beds that feel like pullout sofa beds at best. I think it was the worst night sleep I have had in many years. The front desk was so nice and accommodating. They moved us to a different room, no problem. The street light pierced through the window all night. I felt like an ant must feel when a kid uses the sun and magnifying glass to torment. You can't close the curtains to block this bright light due to the AC trying as hard as it could to keep the room from overheating. In any event, terrible sleep. Very, VERY glad to leave and will not ever return. But again. Service, location, and restaurant was great. No complaints there at all. All you need are better mattresses, steam clean and vacuum the hallways and get a BB gun to shoot out the street light blaring into room 3005. Cheers. read more

The worst hotel experience. We stayed here for three days. The front desk lady was disrespectful. The hotel never came to clean our rooms (yes, we had two rooms that were not cleaned up). The Wi-Fi connection is horrible. Day one - The unexpected front desk encounter: We initially had requested for a lake view room, but when we got to the hotel, we were given a room that faced the back side. We asked the front desk lady for a change in the hotel room, but she was very passive aggressive and told us that there are no rooms available and told us to wait for a room change the next day. She told us that she will write a note for the front desk tomorrow but she will not be here (speaking like she was not going to responsible if there were no rooms available the next day). She said we can try to come at 8am the next day for the change. Although we were pretty disappointed with her attitude, since we were tired from our long flight, so decided to just go with it. So we slept, and woke up the next day, and decided to stay in the room that we were given. Day two - The uncleaned room: We woke up and went about our activities for the day. We went to the glaciers and had a good time. However, when we came back to our room, we were shocked to see that our rooms were not made. The blankets were still the way they were when we left it. We didn't get a new set of towels. The floor was not vacuumed. Everything was still the way they were. Day three - No WI-FI and disrespectful customer service: We stayed at the hotel for the morning, because both me and my brother had to work at the hotel. This required the usage of Wi-Fi. However, the Wi-Fi was not stable - we couldn't access certain websites freely, and it took forever to load. As a result, we had to use our hotspot to connect, which was a waste of our phone data. Later at night, we ordered some ice cream to the hotel. The food was delivered properly, however, we needed some utensils and asked the hotel to bring us two spoons. However, the lady was very very rude. She responded, "Did you just say spoons? We don't have spoons right now. You're going to have to go to the restaurant and ask. Or just wait for a few hours." And then she immediately hung up, without even giving me a chance to respond to her message. We paid a good amount of money to stay in this hotel. Although it is not a 4-star hotel, I believe that every hotel should treat their customers like king. This is a service industry, hotels compete with their service and how they treat their customers, but this was horrendous. I've never experienced such a out-right rude treatment from a hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Please go and find another hotel before picking this place to stay. read more

It's nice to be pleasantly surprised by good service. Plus, it's probably the most convenient hotel when you want to be located adjacent to the Ted Stevens Airport in Anchorage. Hard to imagine, but The millennium Hotel is even more convenient if you are using a float-plane for your Alaskan transportation. When you arrive at the airport, you dial 02 from the house phone and the hotel picks you up within five or ten minutes. When you are departing the hotel for the airport, the shuttle van leaves the hotel lobby on the hour and half hour. The best surprise for me was when I arrived at the front desk it was 45 minutes past the hour and the van driver was willing to take me to the airport rather than have me wait around the lobby for the clock to hit the top of the hour. That's especially good service! Overlooking the lake, the Fancy Moose lounge serves up excellent bar food, appetizers and a wonderful selection of Alaskan craft beers. Combining the live music and the terrific fare, it's easy to have a good time in the Fancy Moose. You'll find the rooms to be clean and comfortable. Room service did a nice job of maintaining the room for my two night stay. The sheets and duvet cover were crisp and fresh. The king bed worked well for me and I slept like a log. Just so you are aware, there is currently construction taking place - looks like a full remodel. That construction could influence your room options. The work had absolutely no effect on my stay and was never interrupted by the construction. Room rates were relatively inexpensive but that rate may be tied to the status of the construction project. When visiting Anchorage and looking for a convenient airport hotel, give the Millennium Hotel a try. Salute! read more

We just recently stayed here and never again. It felt like a run down motel for drugs, sex and alcohol. Ran into a couple of shady people in the elevators and you can tell by the conversation they were there for that. The room was dusty! Never cleaned, my phone chargers collected dust during our stay. It was gross. The floor looked dirty and had dog hair on it. The housekeeping came by too early (830-9) cause there were days that we just wanted to relax in morning (but that meant our room wouldn't get cleaned). The heater made lots of noises and sounded like it was going to fall apart. We had to keep turning it off and on. The tv channels would work for a few then when you changed the channel, it would just say in progress but nothing would happen. The restaurant food was mediocre and kind of pricey. The mixed berry pie was good but that's it. I had some Asian halibut dish and it was gross. The white rice was hard (like bottom of pan hard) and the glaze for the halibut just didn't go together. I wouldn't recommend staying here. read more

Had breakfast at the restaurant downstairs and only had one woman working the whole place that morning. Very personable and pleasant! She took good care of us. Wish I had remembered her name. The hotel advertises as offering VIP perks to Hotels.com VIP members. They dont offer these perks as advertised. The TV in my room didnt work at first, the maintenance guy came in and managed to get it to turn on, but the sound wouldnt get louder than a whisper. I mean a car in the parking lot could drown the sound on the TV out. Half of the outlets didnt work and the headboard was broken and hanging at a weird angle. If you aren't in your 70s or one of the pilots that uses the lake, they treat you like a second class guest. Again, they advertise as offering perks to Hotels.com VIPs. They do NOT. What would make me book somewhere else next time is that I reached out to the GM and to Millennium Group and have had zero follow up. This is not a good sign in the hospitality industry. I would recommend the restaurant/s for the great views of the lake (but not for breakfast very expensive) but will stay somewhere else on my next visits. read more

My husband and I stayed here last week and we were disappointed with the front desk and the incorrect billing that they are trying to avoid to fix. The hotel carpets are dirty and there were dusts every part of the room. The only good experience that we had was our service in The Flying Machine. The servers were awesome and friendly. Got to the hotel and interior looked alright, checked in got to our room and it smelled like dirty feet and the floor was dirty, along with crappy a/c and a first floor too. With a guard tail right out side. Didn't seem too safe. Called the front desk and they moved us to another room, 4th floor, no screen on window and the window was wide open to let j. All the bugs. This should be a ZERO STAR. The 3rd party called getaroom plus this hotel is a totally scammed. They scam us $176 and they did not refund us, for only 3 nights they charge us that much of taxes. The staff is not helpful, the room is so dusty, no microwave, not worth the price. NEVER AGAIN TO THIS HOTEL. The front desk old lady all of them are not helpful for us to give refund about the overly charge taxes plus they did not issue a receipt even if you requested it, obviously a scam. The hotel & the 3rd part getaroom is a scammed. Their website is a scam & a fraud. So, do not waste your time staying to this hotel. They charged us $564 for only 3 nights with $176 of taxes NO REFUND. My new year wish to this hotel and to the 3rd party will be bankrupt soon so that they will not scam other people. read more
