Wow! The Lakehouse, located on Deer Creek Reservoir is such an amazing place for lunch or dinner. Chef Tamara puts together incredible menu items, that are changing daily. We tried the Duck-fat scones, Dinner Pie and Bison Meatloaf. Everything brought to the table was beyond delicious. Craft cocktails were tasty, but the food stole all the attention. Open year-round, but inside seating is limited. Make sure to book a reservation ahead of time. Somewhat quiet establishment, so not the best setup for young children. read more

Chef Tamara Stanger created an incredible menu that took our taste buds on a ride! We started with the crispy blue corn pate which had such unique texture and flavor. It was soft, crispy, savory with a hint of sweet. It was unexpected and delicious. Entrees we had the chicory venison which was seasoned and cooked perfectly with the most delicious bone marrow mashed potatoes underneath. This dish was truly a star. We also had the pioneer pie which had filet and lobster inside. The crust was so butter and flakey. The filling was perfect and really let the lobster shine. My husband and I kept stealing bites of each others plates because they both were so good. We finished with caramel cheesecake and it was hands down the best cheesecake we've ever had. We had a perfect dinner date at The Lakehouse. I read all the reviews before we went and was a little nervous about some of the service complaints BUT we had a great experience with every single Lakehouse employee we encountered. They were friendly and knowledgeable. Our server Griffin in particular was delightful and helped us make dinner decisions that we did not regret! The food was as good as the service. We started with the duck fat scones, which are highly recommended for a valid reason. We also got the corn dumplings, which were also good but the scones were untouchable. I got the pioneer diner pie, which was unreal. The crust was indescribably good and the filling was also incredible. I'm going to think about that savory pie for days and probably years. My husband got the wild grape dumplings which were like nothing we had ever tried before and would definitely eat again. For dessert we got the pie special which was a mud slide pie and as delicious as every other thing we ate. This chef creates pie crust that your grandmother wishes she could compete with. This is a hidden gem in the neighborhood and one of the best restaurant experiences I have ever had in Utah. Things to know: 1. The theme of the food from this place is essentially super classy hearty foods with western ingredients (spoiler alert, the game meats are from Montana and Oregon, and not from Utah - but they add to the Utah feel). 2. It is a bit of a drive (like 25 min from Park City - but totally worth it!) Why I love this place: 1. The food, done so amazingly well - with a sense of local flare (at least regionally) with ingredients and perfect amount of seasoning. The rabbit lasagna was delightful, and so was pretty much else we had. 2. The ambiance, it felt like a nordic alpine cabin, but with a very American touch. 3. The service - the staff was super friendly, fun, and knew everything... 4. The lakeside view (even at night) - amazing scenery in the background 5. Yes they have parking. It's a good thing the view is spectacular. The food and service were just *meh*. We reserved our table on Open Table and made note of the celebration we were recognizing. As soon as we checked in at 6:45 for our 6:45 reservation, they told us we were early and had to wait. Their system noted our reservation time incorrectly. The manager took us to our table and asked if we were celebrating anything (again, it was in our reservation notes). We ordered the duck fat scones with wild berry butter and it was ok. The butter needed something added (honey) to sweeten it up to help enhance the taste of the berries. We also ordered the cauliflower tacos and the flavor was great but it lacked anything extra (suggest adding avocado and pickled onions). After the starters, our plates were cleared and our utensils were taken (but not replaced). We all ordered the halibut for dinner and it had a light refreshing taste with couscous and grapefruit on the side but I don't think it warranted the $47 price. Our server didn't come to our table immediately after the food arrived y we asked the hostess (that was bussing a table next to us) to please bring us some silverware. She said she would but never returned - though she returned to the table next to us to set it for the next guests. We asked another server for silverware (still hadn't seen our server since we got the main course). Final, we received our utensils and could now enjoy our cold halibut. No fans or mists to cool guests down. Gorgeous view. It was the best part aside from the live music from John Gold. LOVED the live music. The only thing really lacking, and I mean REALLY lacking is **UNIQUE** flavor. If you're going to charge that much per item, at least make the food more flavorful. We ordered the Cauliflower Tacos, and it was legit seasoned cauliflower on one side of the plate, and 3 tortillas folded in half on the other side of the plate. Nothing else. Even sour cream or salsa would have helped those poor cauliflower tacos to taste better. We also ordered CHILAQUILES. we thought this would be delicious and turns out that the tortillas that they made the chips out of were super soggy, and the flavor was nothing special. In fact, it was a major let down. Disappointing actually. That too bad. Then we ordered this appetizer can't remember what it's called, bread and something. there's a pic of it in this review. It looked beautiful and amazing. Just like the CHILAQUILES. It came with four pieces of bread, and there were five of us. Again, the flavors were extremely disappointing in the texture was less than intriguing. We also ordered three PB Burgers. they did not ask us how we wanted the meat cooked and my husbands looked super raw on the inside. Again, really neat presentation but thank heavens that it's nearly impossible make a hamburger wrong. I must say that on the dinner menu, the PB burger was the best option as far as flavor. we also ordered a pasta salad that was literally bowtie pasta is that weren't cooked all the way , sprinkled in with some spinach and pinenuts. again, do these people have any idea what the heck they are doing when it comes to putting flavor into their food? even the waitress was very honest with us, and told us that we should not order it because of how bad it tastes. She then told us that they are taking it off of the menu and replacing it with something else because it's gross. The french fries tasted good. The tater tots tasted good. I really wonder if the chef has tasted their own food. Overall, the experience was amazing with ambience and terrible with food. I very much appreciate the standards of local places like Primo, Log Haven & still miss Valter being present in this scene. Some chefs new to the scene have great food but lack location. Some sadly we have lost over the past 2 years. All of that said- I have looked forward to dinner at The Lakehouse and finally had a reason to be in Heber on Saturday & made reservations for early Saturday night dinner. I am so impressed. Date night in Utah has never tasted so good or had better atmosphere than dining at The Lakehouse. Ahhhhhhmazing Ahhhhmazing! & the sunset over the mountains looking at the water didn't hurt AT ALL... Oysters out of this world! Venison carpaccio? melt in your mouth!!!! Full Bar, good wine menu. House Drinks- All house cocktails every single option is one is worth ordering and coming back for. The Big Rock Candy Mountain & the Blood Moon are competing to be my new addiction;) Elk chop? Yes please! Bison Salisbury Steak so good. Three sisters desert- a spiritual experience. Going back for the sold out porterhouse, lamb taquitos, & so much more. I dare say the entire experience fed my soul. I plan to return several times to taste everything on this master chef's menu. I've scheduled our company party here for December. The food was good but the service was horrible. They informed us that they were short staffed when we were seated. We got one menu to pass around our table of 7, and then the waiter came back and asked us what we wanted to eat, meanwhile none of us had a chance to see the menu because we were passing around one menu! Ridiculous! Our food took an hour to get to us, and the waiter was not apologetic. We almost left. When we (finally) got our food, that was the only redeeming quality and it is why this is 2 stars and not 1. I had the chicken picatta. Very good, but tiny tiny portion for over 30 dollars! My husband and I agreed this place was just mid. A majority of what you're paying for is the view (which was gorgeous). Positively, our hostesses were very nice and accommodating when it came to seating. They Immedietly moved an umbrella so that we were in the shade. In terms of food. I was really excited to order the osso buco, but wasn't informed by anyone that they wouldn't have that available to order even though it was on the menu. The waiter told me they were simply just out. We got there at 5:30 and the restaurant opens at 5, so I wasn't like this was 8 pm in which I would understand. I pivoted and ordered the refresher to drink and the ribeye and my husband ordered the burger. THe mint in the wasn't muddled at all and instead just a garnish on top. Both of our food came out as tepid at best. His cheese on the burger wasn't melted in the slightest and the steak was so cold that the butter on top didn't melt. I asked for rare and the steak was cooked somewhere about medium well. Overall, For $130 before tip, we expected better and were overall just left disappointed. read more

We were on the lake for a few hours and when we were coming in we got a "wiff" of great smells. I could've been the sun and wind but we fell for it. I've past this place many times but never stopped in till now. What a great place to be right at sunset. Great views. We sat at their small bar (5 seats) but it was great. Great service and company. We ordered only a couple of dishes to taste but what pleasantly surprised me was the Oysters Rockefellers! I know... Utah, at a lake? Cmon! I kid you not! One of the best I've had. As full time PC residents, we are ecstatic to welcome The Lakehouse to town!!! If you're looking for reassurance that you will enjoy it, you've got it! Starting with the view, it's a wonderful spot to relax along the lake, not to leave out the absolutely gorgeous dining room and amazing upstairs bar. The service was a 12 on a scale of 1-10 with our server, Dee and Martin, the General Manager making us feel like we had been coming here for years! Great cocktail list - the Blood Moon is a perfect combo of mezcal and sweet. EVERYTHING we ordered was exceptional - chilaquiles, bay chips, cauliflower (the bean paste is heaven!!), worlds best club sandwich and flatbread. Moving to dessert, the squash cake is to die for and the sarsaparilla cake is wonderful as well! When you add in that you can send your kids out to the wibit while you enjoy brunch, it's a perfect Sunday! Why I gave it a 2 star. We went up here for my daughters birthday. There was 7 of us. The place was amazing right as you walked in. The view from our outdoor table was like nothing else. It was beautiful sitting on the water. Our waitress was very nice and what seemed to be trying her best. Very laid back and very happy. We ordered our food and moments later were told the burners were out. Which was a bummer on a Friday night and after driving over and hour to get there. We made other choices. The burgers were very undercooked and we personally felt bad to send them back after asking over and over again for other things (honey for scones, refills, the sun shade cover etc...) my boys ate around the raw meat and we carried on. The "nachos" were soggy. Like you could have roll up the chips with your finger and make a mini taco. (Very strange). The pasta salad which was a second choice was under done. We try new restaurants often with our 5 kids as we want them to know how to behave out in public and we want to expose them to different foods etc... In my opinion this place needs a new menu. This place needs to cut prices. It was over priced. The portions and quality didn't match the prices at all. Being by a lake I could see them maybe having an option or area for people coming off of the lake? My kids loved sitting by the water. My daughter kind of enjoyed her $7.50 mock tail for her birthday. We did get comped bday cake for all the things gone wrong. Which was very nice and appreciated. We loved the view.
