So a friend tells me the other day, that she is off to get a "lash perm" and did I want to come along. "Huh?" was my uneducated reply. "What's a lash perm?" Well, it turns out that a new Lash Spot has opened out in the "burbs', in downtown Hinsdale, no less. A sister shop to the one in the city on Erie- this new eyelash boutique does it all for eye brows and eye lashes- from standard waxing and tinting to their specialty service of eyelash extensions. Now I was blessed with my mom's great eyelashes so I didn't think extensions or a perm were in order for me- but I wanted to go along and check this place out . . .afterall . . .a little glam in anyone's life can "change the game" if you know what I mean! We walked in a few minutes before her appointment time. Know that if you cancel and don't meet their 24 hour cancellation period- that your credit card will still be charged service or not- so get there! We were warmly greeted and as I settled in to wait- I was given a brief tour of the place and told that they could "open up my eyes" even more with a few strategically placed lashes on the outer eyes. The cost for this procedure runs $75 - $150 depending on the skill level of the technician. I passed, but maybe for that next big night out . . . . . . . Oh- and if you want to go out with a full set of eyelash extensions that last about a month . . .the going rate is $250 - $500 again dependent upon the level of the technician. This process takes anywhere from an hour and a half to two hours to complete, as the lashes are put on one at a time, but you should see the way you look when you walk out. A woman was finishing up when we were walking in, and she looked fantastic. About this time- my friend's "perm" was done, she paid her $70 and we were on our way. But not before I glanced in the mirror and at that moment knew that I would be back. After all, a little glam is good for the soul! read more

The first time I went Melissa did a great job. I went again about a month ago and it was the worst lash application I ever had. The young lady was delightful but the lashes were terrible. When she put them on she taped my bottom lashes down with medical tape instead of those moisturizing eye pads and after she pulled it off my under eye skin was red and burning for days. Also she used so much glue that she had to rip my lashes away from the tape. I spent extra for mink lashes because they are softer but they are totally covered in glue so not softer at all, just clumpy with big hunks of glue. The last thing is that the lashes are going all different directions and they look terrible. Done with this place. read more

Not satisfied with a tint and perm. I have gotten an eyelash perm at another location with way better results. I have attached both pics. The one with the bomb looking eyelashes is from another salon taken the day of lash perm. Other photo is day of lash perm at Lashe Spot. I won't be going back for a perm. Waste of money. They're not even curled. That Being said the staff was very nice and friendly. They just need to learn how to perm i think. read more

This place is wonderful! I've been an eyelash junkie for 3 years and I gotta say the quality of work at The Lash Spot is undeniably superior to any other places I've been to. My lashes still look great after 2-3 weeks! It's a bit on a pricey side but so worth it. The salon in Hinsdale is always super clean and it smells so good inside! They play chill loungy music and give you a neck pillow so I almost always drift into sleep when I get my fills done. Very comfortable reclining chairs too. read more

I went in on a group on! It was $55 for a brow lamination! The procedure took around 30 minutes. I also wanted them to be tinted! When I was finished, the tint cost me $25 extra and I also gave a tip of $10. It cost me $90 all together. I notice the tint was rather dark and the brows did not look permed at all. They did not stand up as they would normally after a perm! I was and I am extremely Disappointed with the service and the money I spent! read more

My actual experience here wasn't awful, I'd say the girl was slightly rude, or maybe just not very personable. I will say my eyelash extensions barely made two weeks (the required fill time). I don't wear make up on them, I brushed through them as instructed, I don't rip them off my eyelids so not sure what the problem is. BUT my second time around for a "relashe" has been worse- barely a week in and one of my eyes has lost almost all its lashes for absolutely no reason. To make matters worse, I upgraded this go around to the more expensive, supposedly nicer mink lashes. Not very happy considering they aren't exactly cheap. read more

All I can say is that the lash spot in hinsdale is HORRIBLE! I called to schedule an appt.on 6/11/14 and right from the start there was a problem.The gentlemen that answered the phone put me on hold for 15 mins.While scheduling my appt.we got disconnected ,though I called back and was on hold again for 5mins I finally got an appt for that same day @ 4pm and specified that I wanted to go to the location in hinsdale.When I walked in for my 4pm appt.i was basically greeted with who are you and what are you doing here!I introduced my self and explained that I was here to get my lash extensions and had a 4pm appt.The Spanish women responded with no you don't we both have clients at 4pm and there name is not what you stated.I explained that I made an appt for 4pm today and just drove 30 miles to there location.They kept telling me that I probably was confused and came to the wrong location..they called there chicago location and someone made my appt for there chicago location.Finally one of the ladies said "fine I will do your lashes"I have had my lashes done every 3-4 weeks for the last 2years and I have never had such a shitty job done.It took her only 20 mins. to apply a full set,and it burned like crazy.when she gave me the mirror to see I couldn't notice that I had lashes applied. My lashes were applied on Wednesday by Saturday all of my lashes were gone,not that anyone noticed that I got them done anyways.When I told everyone that I had my lashes done the next day,no one believed me.Please don't go to this place they are rude and do a very crappy job.I spent 75$ cuz of the groupon and no one noticed and what ever lashes she applied were gone in 3 days. read more

I ended up getting an eyelash perm and tint from the Erie St location and the results were horrible!! My eyelash perm turned out all kinked! Not sure how this can happen when this is your job. I had it before at the same location and had Alex, who was amazing yet he was not there this time. After the procedure, my eyes were blurry from everything (perm, tint, eye makeup remover after, tape and no gel tape remind you) in addition to wearing glasses that I did not have with me, so I couldn't see the results in the mirror. When I arrived home after my appointment, I used a magnified mirror and immediately called them @ 6:20 pm and left a message since no one answered. Called the following morning around 10 since I never received a call back. Finally, after 2 days, spoke to their manager or owner. Stated I had to send him a picture, and upon determining "everything" will decide if I get my money back. Can't wait to post this picture. Avoid this place, especially after the phone call I received today. Left me with no resolution as things had to be "determined." Having a 1 star review at this location tells it all! read more

This past time I really neglected to come back in the right amount of time and my regular tech, Abby was so great. She didn't make me feel bad about it and took the extra time to 'fix the mess' i had made of myself! She is so sweet and personable does a great job. I don't usually like committing to hair, nail now eyelashes, ugh! But she is pretty quick and has me in and out. Pain-free and looking good until my next appointment. I came here after a friend of mine bought me a Groupon for my birthday. I was so excited to be getting lashes because I've always been interested in getting extensions. It was very easy to get an appointment I got in almost the same day. However my lash experience was anything but glamourous. I loved the location for the convenience, but didn't realize here you don't lay on a bed to have your procedure done, but instead you're forced to recline on these very uncomfortable barber chairs for the entire 2 hours of the service. I have chronic lower back pain, which the tech assured me would be fine. After about 30 minutes I was immediately uncomfortable. I should've read the Yelp reviews before buying the Groupon. After 2 weeks, most of my lash extensions were gone. To make matters worse the ones that were still left on, were all clumped and stuck together. I ended up going to another lash studio I found through Yelp, thankfully they took me the same day and took off all my old lashes and applied new ones the same day, without charging me any removal fee, granted there wasn't much to remove. Addi at Eyelove Studio was very professional, the removal was quick and painless, I slept through most of the procedure. The best part my new lashes lasted past 2 months despite not getting a refill. She is so great at her work and you will feel like a new person whether you get lash extensions, a lash lift, or a tint. I leave there each time with my eyes transformed dramatically. I went to The Lashe Spot in Hinsdale about a week ago. I explained the look I wanted (fuller, not extra length since my own lashes are already long). I left with way too long eye lashes, burning eyes, and huge gaps in between each segment of lashes. Two days later I worked out; when I got home I took my usual shower, and all of my lashes had fallen out. I was an idiot and signed up for the monthly program to have them filled every two weeks for a discounted price. When I followed up and called the store, they were incredibly rude and said it must have been from sweating at the gym. I am beyond frustrated! I love my new lashes! I've never had lash extension so I didn't know what to expect. The staff was very professional and the consultation was very informative. They gave me a natural look which opened up my eye for a more youthful sexy look! The lashes are comfortable and don't get in the way. I find I don't need as much eye makeup either.
