Life Changing. If you're hesitant about LASIK, read this first. I've worn glasses and contacts for over 36 years and now in my 40's I have 20/15 vision! I'd considered getting LASIK for years but instead of making an appointment to get more info, I'd do the usual and make an annual appointment at my eye doctor usually spending around $1000 for new glasses and contacts that would last until my next appointment. Not this year...I received my annual eye exam reminder and knew that if I didn't do it now I never would. I set up a zoom appointment to learn more about Lasik vision correction and I'm so glad I did. It's been an awesome experience every step of the way! The staff member answered all of my questions and set me up with an in person appointment to determine if I was a candidate. At my in person appointment Judy was great at explaining everything. She took pictures, measurements, and checked my vision. Then the doctor examined my eyes and reviewed the results of the tests and determined that I was a candidate for lasik. Yay!!! The front office staff explained everything and got me set up for my surgery and follow up appointments for the next week. I actually had the option to have my surgery that day but my husband wasn't able to drive me home afterwards. The day of surgery, they rechecked my vision, had me sign off on paperwork, and then it was time! The surgery itself isn't long. I was taken back to what I'll call the "zen" room. It was dark with a comfy chair. I had to put on a hair cover and wipe my eyelids off with a wipe they provided to me. I closed my eyes and relaxed for a few minutes then they called me into the surgery room. They checked my eyes again, asked again what I was having done, and had me lay down on the chair. They placed a pillow under my knees and made sure I was comfortable. The staff explained everything they were doing as it was happening and made me incredibly relaxed during the process. The doctor also let me know everything that was happening during the actual LASIK procedure. It was a very quick process and I focused on my breathing and staying relaxed. There was no pain. I think the hardest part was knowing that my eyes were being held open. I wanted to blink, lol. As I saw the red and green lights I could tell my vision was immediately improved. Each eye took less than a minute start to finish and as the staff helped me sit up, I was in shock that I could see without contacts or glasses. It was a bit blurry but I could see without using either. The doctor checked my eyes and explained the next steps. As my husband helped me into the car I started crying. Yes, they were ugly tears. Not because I was in pain but because I realized how life changing this is. It was the first time I saw the world without glasses or contacts and it wasn't just a blurry mess. We got home and I followed all the directions for the next few days. There was some pain for a couple hours after the surgery but it wasn't unbearable. It was totally worth it! Went in today to see if I was a candidate for lasik surgery. After I was done they said I was a candidate , the girl was trying to schedule me the very next day . I told her I was working the next day and looked at my schedule to see what day would be my day off. Every day I told her I was off she said no to until we got to November. This other girl said, we most likely won't have the promotion by then, so i will have to schedule at full price. Now mind you, I have Cigna insurance and my plan says I could get 1500$ towards lasiks, she kept saying 1200$ but I was still willing to schedule. I also have superior vision plan with MetLife that covers 20% of surgery. Then she said she would have to schedule at full price because they wouldn't offer promotion by November. Ok will go somewhere else, Are you kidding me? These lasik places are a dime a dozen. Thanks for wasting my day, just because you couldn't schedule my surgery the very next day. Agent stated there would be a $200 discount if the LASIK was done that day because someone would need to come and pick up my wife. I was on the phone when the conversation occurred. My wife stated my father would come to pick her up and the agent stated that was fine and that it didn't need to be an Uber/Lyft. We relied on that information and decided to purchase and perform have the operation the same day as the consultation. Later, my wife stated no discount was applied and the agent spoke to me personally and disclosed she had made a mistake and she couldn't honor the original discount offer. My wife canceled the transaction and didn't perform the surgery because the agent refused to honor the discount offered. If the principal's agents cannot honor their word then how can one believe the principal will? At that moment, we lost trust in the business. I understand that the agent feels like her hands are tied because she couldn't apply the discount in the system (from what my wife stated the agent told her), but no effort was made to contact the owner to explain the situation. In my opinion, customer satisfaction is worth much more than the discount the business failed to provide. Ultimately, this wasted my wife's time, led to this review, and we will look to perform the operation at a business that seeks to honor its word. read more

This place is basically a eye surgery mill. I called over the phone for a specific LASIK procedure (Contoura) and asked if they did it. I was assured yes. When I go in they give me the run around saying no it's not something we commonly do the doctor does the standard one it's just as good blah blah. When I was steadfast in my want for the Contoura suddenly they could do it. Took me to a room which looked like it hadn't been used in ages. Dusted off a machine and then struggled to get the measurements done. Telling me all the good things about it. Wait I thought just 20 minutes ago you said it wasn't worth it? Now suddenly is the best thing ever? Does not inspire any confidence in this place. After all that they gave me a price and insisted I would just go ahead and do it right now. That they had a slot available. I would run from this place, don't come here look for a smaller practice where you actually meet the surgeon as here you can't even talk to the surgeon. I finally decided to get LASIK surgery done after many years of contemplating and I'm glad I went here. This is day 2 of my post-surgery and my eyes feel fine. A little blurryness but it is normal for the first few days. The first day my eyes were hurting but after using the drops they give you my eyes felt a lot better. The nurses are very kind and understanding. I also feel like the waiting time wasn't too long to get the LASIK done. I was there for just over an hour just because I had two people in front of me waiting to get the same surgery done. I wasn't going to leave this review until I read the others and now, here we are. I have had two surgeries since October of last year. I had to have an enhancement after only 5 months after the original surgery. I don't have a complaint about that. It's the looooooong wait times for follow up visits. It is a 1.5 hour drive round trip for me to go there because of traffic and construction. I make appointments to be seen at a certain time and have to wait an hour or more to be seen? I was there yesterday and walked out after waiting over two hours. Almost an hour after I walked out they called me to reschedule. They had nooooooo idea that I was even there!! I got my PRK done 6 months ago now at this Maitland Orlando FL location. Staff is nice, however the following visits are ridiculous. Come to think about it surgery day was also behind on time as well by 2 hours. Their excuse is always that they are short in staff. Of course they switch it up a bit when there is a tropical storm or a tornado watch to blame. From what I noticed on the sign up sheet it looks like they schedule too many people with the same time schedule at the same time expecting some ppl to call in to cancel. They do NOT take into consideration that we all have a job and a life. A appointment means you have a scheduled time to be in and out. Not expected to be 4 hours! Seriously! This needs to be brought to the attention of their Corp Office. No one in the waiting room stand up for them self, just sit there quietly and complain to the person who they came with, which is also taking time out of things they need to do to accompany them. If no one says anything this is going to be an ongoing thing. I am not asking to make a scene, but let theses people at Lasik VI know we have a life and a schedule appt is a schedule appt. especially since we have to come in several of times within the first 6 months, in order to maintain life time ins valid.( FYI: And then once a year, same month you had your eye surgery/eye dilation and send to them.) I had excellent eye care here at The Lasik Vision Institute in Orlando last week. I wanted to wait a week after surgery to do a review and to see how well I would heal and how fast. First, Dannon did the intake and I don't think I could have been in better hands. He explained the procedures, the options and then I had the eye exam. The Dr. who did the exam was informative and answered all my questions. I decided to have Lasik and Kim worked up the tests and made me feel super comfortable being there. I am a bit queasy when it comes to anyone placing anything in my eyes but they all did an awesome job and I got through it. 10 days after my assessment, I had the surgery and it is awesome, a week after surgery, to be able to read my kindle, my texts messages and a menu without my glasses. I seriously have nothing bad to say about this office. The staff was SUPER Friendly, special shout-out to Gesline, the super sweet lady that did most of my check ups that her name I can't remember now (sorry!) and Al for being the sweetest and most caring people ever, I could just tell the love what they do and everything they do it's with love. I did no have any issue as far as wait time like most people say. For my initial consultation i was there at for about 2-3 hours which is the usual given all the info and exams they have to go over, and for the procedure I was in at 10:45 was out by 12:15 and that's including pre-op check ups, payment processing, post-op check ups and so on. As far as the procedure went Dr Insler was a really nice and funny guy, he explained every step of the procedure and told me what to expect before he moved on, was super patient when I got nervous and kept moving my eye. Lol. And just did the whole thing like a pro. I would definitely recommend this office to all my friends and family. I am one day post my PRK surgery and I feel great, still a bit of blurring (which is expected with prk) but no pain, and no discomfort. read more

Update...it has now been 6 weeks since my PRK surgery and I couldn't be happier! I am seeing 20/20 In both eyes as of my 4 week check up. I was told I may have to use reading glasses because of my age but I haven't had any issues and I work on a computer all day. The only thing I needed to get used to was not reaching for my glasses when I got up in the morning and the feeling that I forgot to do something, take my contacts out, at night before I went to bed. I went to the Lasik vision institute in Orlando, do NOT go there, ever! I was told on Friday when I went for Lasik that my eyes were borderline for Lasik and that the safest procedure was PRK. The doctor told me this 10 minutes before my procedure. He told me that it was the same procedure, just a day or two longer on recovery. It's now 6 days later and my vision is WORSE than when I walked in and I can't correct it! A different doctor who saw me today thought it was amusing that I was told that cause I can take weeks or months to heal from this!!! They took my $$$ and now I can't see anything clearly and have had a headache for 3 days cause my eyes are trying to focus! RUN FAR, RUN FAST away from this place! Do not waste your time. Run as far away as you can from this place. I was unfortunate enough to be there when the so called "manager" Leslie was in the office trying but failing to greet patients. She did not come across genuine at all with myself as well as the other people in the waiting area,she was rolling her eyes after each encounter with patients and her employees. This was extremely unprofessional. The way she spoke to me when i asked how long the wait time would be was in a very brash manner, if she is the manager of this facility i can only imagine if i stayed for my consult how the other employees would treat me. On another note, i felt very bullied into getting my surgery, she seemed more about my deposit rather than my issue's. I am not going to feed into money hungry establishments. Being in the medical field i know when someone is out for money and not client care and she is about your money. I recently underwent PRK at this location. The staff was an absolutely joy to interact with and this made all the difference in the world. On my initial consultation my partner and I were on site for about 4 hours. The team ran extensive tests to determine what refractive procedure would best fit my profile. My partner accompanied me, we're that duo that does everything together and it was refreshing that everyone was so accommodating to him as well. So here's a breakdown, I had my consult on 07/06 and surgery was scheduled for 07/13. I had to have PRK since years of contact lens abuse had thinned my corneas... bleh. I have to be honest, I wasn't thrilled with the sudden change in surgical approach because after all, all the adverts screamed LASIK. After playing it cool and thoroughly listening to Judy, Jessline and Jesse explain the procedure I felt at easy and was ready to have my eye balls scraped. Each person knew the procedure like the back of their hand and all explanations were identical. It's Friday the 13th and I'm at this life changing center ready to get it... dare I say popping? My appointment was at 10:00am and we were out of the building by 2:00pm. They key to this magical experience is patience, patients. My surgeon was Dr. G Stanley Okoye, a Nigerian angel who spends his time changing lives one eye ball at a time. Dr. Okoye was so smooth and confident, he gained our trust instantly. We just knew his best years of med school was about to be projected onto my -6 astigmatism eyes. I popped a valium and headed to the OR. In the OR I had Jessline and Kim with me... 2 angelic celestial beings that made this procedure a breeze. I was in and out within 15 mins. My partner was allowed in the OR which was the icing on the cake for me. Brad was the first person I saw after getting up and for the first time in 6 years he looked so clear! I wept. Safe to say he is as handsome as I've been suspecting all this time so I'll be marrying him post recovery ( hahaha) I kidd! Bottom line, I really enjoyed my experience at this center, it's not a private chic practice in the Hollywood hills but what you get is real HUMANS that actually knows what's going on in their field. Pleasant humans are a hit and miss in the workplace but the synergy at LVI Orlando is unmatched. Most reviews I've read complains about the wait time, these are your EYES people! Clear your calendar and sit tight until it's your time to be seen. The staff is under immense pressure to please each and every entitled visually impaired person that walks through those doors. I have yet to feel an ounce of pain, it's now day four after prk and while my vision is super blurry it's a zillion times better than it was before. I've read that folks are generally losing their shit around day 3 from the pain but I haven't experienced this at all. Granted, my partner has instructed me to do absolutely nothing so I've really been sleeping for the last four days. I think sleeping helps the cells to regenerate quicker because my recovery has really been a breeze. If you're thinking about getting corrective surgery please don't wait another second. Just had my PRK done with Dr. Insler and wow! I was very nervous about my lasik being switched to a PRK due to my ridiculously high astigmatism but Dr. Insler assured me it would be the safest for my eyes. Kim and Jesleen were AMAZING. I expressed how nervous I was and they talked to me and made me feel so comfortable and their conversation definitely calmed my nerves. Well, I agree that you will sit here forever until someone comes out to the front desk. That's the least of my complaints . I was really nervous ! Dr. Michael Ines had the worst bedside manner . I work in a Doctors office btw. Dr Ines was wearing a t shirt, scoffing around the office like he was having the worst day ever . He came in to meet me before the surgery. He was very short w me , not welcoming but hey, he's a busy man. When it came time for my eyes to get jacked open with a metal thing he yelled at me to " open wider, to help him out a little more "etc . I tightened up even more at his lack of compassion . When I was done the tears poured out . I ran to the waiting room with wet foggy eyes begging for my boyfriend to get up so that we could get the hell out. Oh and the Dr didn't show up to my follow up appointment the next day either. This place gets one star for taking my AmericaPlan discount card. My own advice rings true , you get what you pay for . Most of the reviews I've read don't actually discuss the treatment itself which is really what you're paying for when you get Lasik. My insurance offered a great rate here and all of the staff was incredibly friendly. The wait is longer, yes, but if you get the 8 am appointments it goes by quickly. Dr. Insler is a little dry personality wise but did a fantastic job on my surgery and in the end, that's what mattered most to me. I was pretty shaken up during the procedure (it's your eyes after all) but the nurse was fantastic and talked me through the entire process. He also made sure to pop his head in during my follow-up the next day just to ensure I was doing alright. The optometrist was also incredibly friendly, thorough, and answered all of my questions. My vision was 20/20 the very next day and the healing process has gone incredibly well! There's some dryness and glare that fluctuates day to day but they explain all of this beforehand. It's normal as your eyes begin to adjust to the surgery. The procedure itself takes 10 minutes and they do a great job helping you through the entire process. So far I'm really pleased. read more

Came in for a consultation scheduled at 10:30am. From the start, the receptionist was pretty rude. She was not at the desk when I initially walked in, so I signed the log. When she called my name, she handed me some paperwork to complete and I sat down. When I was done, I went to the desk to give it to her. She was writing something in a file, no big deal. She looked up at me and did not even acknowledge that I was standing there but she was in the middle of something, okay. Another person came up behind the desk, handed her some scissors and again looked at me, no acknowledgement and cut whatever she was doing. She then looked at me, grabbed the clipboard and asked for ID. She said she would give it back to me once she made a chart. Super rude, but everyone has a bad day right? I was quoted an average time of 90 minutes on the phone when I made my appointment two weeks ago. I was taken back and forth 3x to get measurements. At 3 HOURS of still not seeing the doctor, but multiple tests AND dilation, I finally walked out. People have lives and expecting someone to wait around after being quoted a time is ridiculous. Approximately 45 minutes after I walked out, I receive a phone call from a girl asking if they "scared me off," no, I just don't have time for people who don't respect my time. I had to call the department of health. I see halos and my near vision was ruined. Thank goodness I only had one eye done. I spent over $2000 to see another doctor in New York to remove scar tissue. I recently read that this procedure should be band. Even if your vision was corrected, you can still have negative effects in the future. read more

I had an amazing experience and I'm completely satisfied with the results! Every single staff member is knowledgable, kind, upbeat and obviously they love their job. The entire process is convenient and works like a well oiled machine! Everything was perfect; almost too good to be true. Because they had done such a good job of educating me, I was completely prepared for the procedure. Everything was perfect until I got to the payment part. All ready to go to surgery but when I went to pay I was told that I needed to get plugs in my tear ducts and that it would be an additional $400. I went from feeling like I found the best place in the world to a car dealership when they tell you to protect your car you have to pay for undercoating. Rather than feeling that I trusted these people with my sight, I felt like I was being railroaded into doing something "additional" because that would be my best thing for my eyes. THEN I go to surgery and the doctor says he puts them in EVERYONE'S eyes. Once I got home and was able to look at my paperwork, I realized that the options I had originally decided on, INCLUDED the plugs. So I went in for an appointment. I was told by the sales rep (which is what they are) that Lasik cost about 6,000 (which is true because I have done my research). He also asked me if I done any price comparision and I stated no. Then he preceeded to say that because I came to LVI and because they have 71 locations my price for both eyes would be 3598... I then told him I came in because I saw an ad in my email that if your prescription was between a certain amout it would be $1099 per eye. He then said to show him the email and said he didn't know about it etc. etc. then he left the office to go check. He came back in saying I was totally right. So I got the entire package at 2598 instead of 3598. I told him that's not right because through my email it said if I schedule my appointment by April 10th it would be $1000 off the procedure which is why he said I got it for $2598. I said shouldn't it be 1099+1099=$2200 -1000 (promotion)= $1200 total? He said that I needed something called hydration plugs for dry eyes which is recommended so its an extra $500 per eye ($1000) tacked on, and also they have a lifetime assurance plan so that you will need to get your eyes dilated every year and if there is a problem with your vision they will fix it at no cost and that cost an extra $500...So they total for both eyes was now 2598. My problem is shouldn't the hydration plugs been included at $1099 per eye or is it that they are just trying to make a commission of the deals they sell. I am very wary of dealing with this business because I have read one other reviews that the hydration plugs are included in the price. Also after the sales speil they had the so called doctors come in (not the surgeons) Even the doctors seemed they are on the same selling level as the sales representative and tells you it is medically recommended that you have the tear plugs when you get the surgery so your eyes don't get dry but they fail to tell you if its included in the $1099 eye price or its an extra $500 per eye. They also give you a prescription that you need to get on your own like zymaxid, predforte, acular and ocuflox, that is not included in the price and will cost you $300 depending on if you have insurance or not. The bottom line is I came in off an email I got saying the based on my prescription the price would cost 1099 per eye plus if I scheduled the surgery before April 10th I would get $1000 off the price, so my total should have been $1200 total. I do not understand why they would tack in hydration plugs and lifetime assurance plan etc to the cost of the lasik eye exam. It should have come standard that the hydration plugs are included in the price of the eye and not cost extra. Bottom line I am a reasearcher and it is baffling me that the cost should have been $1200 and hydration plugs should have been included???but cost $1000 extra or is it a ploy so the sales representative Chris and his doctors could just make money on you???I would say if you love doing research and love getting a good deal then this is the place for you but if you are unsure of what un neccssary fees are included then avoid this place and go to FILATOWSKI where you would pay more but probably get no runaround!? read more

It's been a little over two months since my surgery, and I've had fantastic results! My eyes are pretty much perfect and I've had no pain or discomfort - not even dry eyes. Dr. Insler (the surgeon) was nice and straight to the point, and he and the techs/nurses talked me through the entire surgery which only took about 5 minutes. The follow up doctor is also very nice and answers all my questions thoroughly. I took off 1 star because of the loooong wait times for appointments. Prepare to wait at least an hour after your scheduled time. But what matters most to me is my vision, which is perfect. read more
