Man if y'all haven't tried The Last Slice, then can you really say you're a pizza lover? I come here every so often for a couple of slices just to get my fix of some great pie. The crust is crusty, the cheese is cheesy and the ingredients are uber fresh. The dining area is simple and nostalgic. It might be a hole in the wall but it's a great hole let me tell ya. They attend to each customer and they don't rush to get to the next person, a quality that most places lack these days. Super chill, friendly and did I mention the pizza is phenomenal? Well it is. We ordered pizza for delivery Friday night. The food (pizza & wings) were delivered no contact style, so I didn't get to see when it was delivered...sneaky, sneaky style. As for the food, I've had better pizza. The crust and the sauce make the pizza. In this case, the pizza was so, so. The wings were fine, except they were doused in BBQ sauce, like a 50/50 ratio. I think they would have been better without the sauce, but these wings were drowning and never had a chance. I'm giving this place four stars, based on the purchase price and quality per slice. This place is a hole in the wall, but they have tasty pizza. I think the cheese is what sells it. They obviously specialize in pizza by the slice, but since I rolled in on a rainy day in January, all they had to choose from was a single pepperoni pizza (they actually told me that they weren't expecting many customers because of the weather, so they didn't make a lot). At first, I was annoyed by the lack of variety, but as I sat there enjoying my hot slice of pepperoni, I realized it was a good thing that they didn't throw a bunch of pizzas up there to waste the day away and get soggy under a heat lamp. You won't find any of that monkey business here. The crust was light and crispy - the cheese was a little on the rich side, but not too cheesy. You should bookmark this place, folks! read more

The people leaving the five star reviews have lost their minds. My white pizza should have been advertised as "an unblotted rasher of bacon and processed chicken hunks thrown onto a terrible crust and topped with greasy cheese." The sole flavor was "grease." The peppers were cooked to death, and the "spinach" was "two small leafs burned to death." The only "flavor" was salt. My husband's Hawaiian pizza was equally terrible, although less greasy. It was also so salty that it felt like pouring a salt shaker into my mouth. Our first time was our last time. We learned our lesson about trusting San Antonio Yelp reviews. Pizza is good. My two star review is in regards to the cleanliness of the place. The photos of the restaurant are old. You can see into the kitchen and there's just stuff everywhere. When I went there, there was a small dog cornered off from the kitchen by having folding chairs barricading him from the kitchen and the dining room. I'm an animal lover but this was not a service dog. This was someone came to work and had no one to watch this young dog. Again, there's stuff all over the place in the kitchen and it just looks like a mess. If they could get more staff and keep it cleaner, I'd gladly give five stars. The Last Slice was suggested on my Yelp app over a year ago. I noticed it wasn't too far from my house, so I bookmarked it. I never got around to actually visiting. Earlier in the day, I saw them featured on TV on "Texas Eats". I figured it was a reminder to stop by there. On arrival, the parking lot is fairly small. There are two tables outside and a dining area inside. It was fairly busy at the time I arrived. I ordered a large Hawaiian Fresno pizza. It took over 45 minutes from the time I paid until the pizza arrived to the table. The pizza was hot and fresh from out of the oven and smelled great. There was a good amount of toppings on it as well. The dough had a nice crunch and chewiness to it. I'd give the pizza three out of five stars. I'd give two stars for the overall experience, so I'm averaging my rating to three stars. read more

Came here for lunch after finding out they were open for dine-in. They have pretty decently priced items for their lunch special. I have the 3 large pizzas with a drink and left happy. The place has a few TVs so I'm sure it would be a good option to go watch a game. Pizza was made a bit on thinner side but not the typical NY thin crust. Just come with an open mind. Their interior is still a work in progress but for what it is, it's great. Come give it a try! read more

We try to never be those people who walk into a place 30min till but we called in a order like 45min to closing time by accident and Alex (I believe) was totally awesome about it when the order hadn't gone through yet and we were walking in 30min till to check on in and make sure the order had been received.We had actually placed the order via Eat 45 min till but it takes more time than necessary to patch the order through on Eat 24's side. Ergo,that is why we pulled up we decided to just go in and make sure it went though 30mi till. The crust is delicious! Pizza on Friday go hand in hand. Was in the mood for pizza so decided to check out this place. Bottom line: pretty good pizza, a 7.4 score (Barstool pizza scale). I called in an order for pickup - 16" large half pepperoni, half cheese pizza, 10" pizza with tomatoes, and an order of a dozen wings of half lemon pepper, half mango habanero. The pizza place is kind of in an odd place in San Antonio off of Loop 410 in a residential area. There are two tables outside of the restaurant and a long counter style table inside to eat at facing the windows; not a sit down and eat type of place. The pizza was better than a lot of other non-chain pizza places I've had. The crust was crispy/chewy and held up well when picked up. The crust did not taste like it was made in a brick oven, rather a regular oven. The cheese and sauce weren't anything spectacular, pretty standard. The chicken wings were decent, although the mango habanero was a bit disappointing - I literally could not taste any spicy/heat in the sauce at all. Overall it was a pretty good meal, but I would not put this place on a pedestal as one of the best pizzas in the city. What really stood out to me was the customer service. I sometimes order just a regular cheese pizza and tomatoes on top, and add my own basil/oil to make a Margherita style pizza. Another customer walked in just as I was about to leave and I overheard her order of a Margherita pizza. I asked if that was a menu item and the guy who made my cheese/tomato pizza offered to add basil to my pizza. He was super generous adding a ton of basil leaves to the pizza. I have always had a great experience with this place. I just wanna start with that however tonight deserves a one star rating. I called and was told no delivery so I was gonna do carry out. First they put me on hold for I don't know how long while I heard all of the talking and laughing in the background. I hung up. Continue to try to call back for the next 5 to 10 minutes and it was busy once I did get through. I ordered two large pieces and was told 30 minutes. When I went 30 minutes later to pick up the pizza they didn't even have my order at all and the guy behind the counter Acted like it was no big deal at all. They didn't offer me anything except an apology and a shrug of the shoulders. the owner was not present as I know he would never have let anything like that happen. I was craving pizza tonight, and I had heard good things about this place, so I decided to try them. I got a large Ultimate Meat Lovers with spicy sauce ($19.99), which was topped with pepperoni, bacon, Italian sausage, ground beef, and spicy sausage. It was a solid pizza, the toppings were all very flavorful and the spicy sauce, which was their regular marinara accentuated with cayenne and red pepper flakes, was quite impactful. The Neapolitan crust was crackery-crisp, and did have a pleasant flavor. I guess I wasn't in the mood for Neapolitan and, while, solid, it was nothing exceptional. It wasn't bad, but I think I have had my last slice from Last Slice; there are better Neapolitan pizzas around and they did nothing particular to stand out to me (see my review for Il Forno).
