Here are some thoughts: -The service was very friendly and very good. Place was busy on a Monday afternoon, but we got seated right away. Waiter was good. -We ordered the truffle Parmesan fries for an appetizer, girls loved 'em! -My wife and daughter ordered kale salads. I tried it--excellent! -I ordered the shaved beef sandwich. To be honest, I didn't love it. I just had some Texas beef brisket the day before, and this didn't measure up!The fries, however, were really good! Overall, highly recommended! Now, you might be thinking, "Your review doesn't sound like a 'highly recommended' review. I asked my girls how they would rate it on a five star, and they all gave it a perfect 5. The room was cozy and thoughtfully set up with a mini fridge (perfect for storing leftovers), a coffee and tea station, and an incredibly comfortable bed that made it hard to leave in the mornings. The bar and brunch alone are worth the visit. Everything we tried was amazing, but the stuffed French toast completely stole the show, hands down the best French toast I've ever had. We also ordered the tostadas, biscuits and gravy, and avocado toast, and every dish was full of flavor and beautifully done. The mimosas were just as impressive; I tried the guava mimosa for the first time and it was so refreshing and delicious. To top it all off, the atmosphere is absolutely perfect. Sometimes they have live music, and you can also head out back to relax by the fire, which really adds to the overall experience. It's peaceful, charming, and feels like the perfect escape. This is truly one of the best places to stay in Wimberley, and we can't wait to come back.

When we were poking around looking for breweries in the area on Yelp we came across The Shady Llama! This place doesn't make their own beer but they have lots of guest taps for breweries in the surrounding area. It's a good variety of beers to choose from and it looks like there is at least one food truck available sometimes in case you get hungry. The main draw for why we came here was to see the llamas and indeed we dis see some. One of them gave us some attitude and then sauntered off down a hill, taking it's less moody companion with it. They were funny and with the attitude I got and the name of the place I posted the Eminem song "My Name Is" where the lyrics "Slim Shady" get mentioned on Instagram because I thought it was all quite fitting. In addition to seeing the llamas we saw a great view of Hill Country. There was a lot of seating when we were here and could pick pretty much anywhere we wanted to sit. But I'm sure the place can get busy... the location and those llamas are reason enough. Cold beer, moody llamas and beautiful Hill Country... definitely worth the stop!

We were so impressed we spoke with the Owner and the Chef. We went back for the following New Year's Eve. The food was undercooked and service was horrible. We found out the Chef was not there. We took it as an "Oh well, we will try again!" Two years later we made reservations for our anniversary last night. The restaurant was packed. We were given a 2 top table in the corner where fir some reason the air conditioner was blowing directly on us! By the way it was 49 degrees outside. We mentioned this to our waitress who replied with a shrug. We ordered. I ordered the strawberry feta salad and the off menu appetizer. My husband ordered the lasagna with a salad. My salad was superb! The appetizer that I was having as my entree and my husband's meal finally came out. His dinner was plated horribly!! The lasagna was warm ( not hot) and the salad was in the plate so when he added dressing it ran into the lasagna. My crawfish crab cake was a joke. It literally had two pieces of chopped crawfish in it. The main dish was the tomatoes and basil for $26. Never did our waitress say that the appetizer was quite small and I probably should not order it as a small entree. Oh well, we have learned. The queso was great, the beans were delicious, and my watermelon margarita was good. The ceviche was just okay. Negatives: the rice was undercooked, the fish tacos tasted mayonnaise-y, and the birria enchiladas were so limey you couldn't taste any birria flavor. Two of my friends got the sangria on the rocks, and it is much (MUCH) stronger. I noticed they had light bites, and though the menu doesn't specify, the worker told me they try to have some gluten-free options. She also gave us several recommendations for where we could eat.
