I went to this restaurant a few years ago...and I wasn't crazy about it, but I thought I'd give it one more chance....and it turns out it hasn't changed.....to start off the service is terrible...our waitress took out order, then we never heard from her again, didn't ask us if we need again, if we wanted more coffee, nothing....if you can't handle the volume you do, then hire more help.... What do I like best about The Lighthouse? It is one of a very few restaurants that carry linguica. It can be served as a side with many of their dishes and is included in a few omelettes. It is a very good breakfast place and I would recommend it to anyone. read more

Girlfriend and I tried this place today on the way back from a trip. We both got breakfast. BEC on hard roll was really good as well as the homefries, the muffin was subpar. I liked the fact that they had healthy options right on the menu for my girlfriend to order like the "healthy combo" where she was able to get whole grain banana pancakes, egg whites and turkey bacon. The pancakes were very good especially for being whole grain. The service overall was okay could have been a bit more attentive. Would definitely go back. read more

Love this place. A group of friends and I get to breakfast 4 to 5 times a week. The place we were going to before closed abruptly and we were forced to look for a new breakfast dinner. After trying a few places we stumbled across Light House And we are all glad we did. We've been having breakfast here for about 3 months 4-5 times per week and we absolutely love it. The breakfast is AMAZING and the hash browns are a must. Service is also 5 Star the waitresses are very personable and friendly. We usually have Janelle or Sofia wait on us and they are excellent. Another huge plus is that they have a lot of seating, they have a front area and a seating area in the back which is just as big and very nice. There is normally 5 of us for breakfast and we are always seated right away. Not sure about Sunday's but Monday thru Saturday we get right in. I highly recommend this place to anyone. We went to the lighthouse for breakfast today at 1130 we had to wait for over an hour for our food other people who came in after us got their food and were leaving by the time we got our food. We asked 1 waitress we told they got their food and they came in after us she was so rude and she said really loud they waited 35 minutes they still came in after us. Then we saw this waitress talking to our waitress and then we saw our waitress putting our order in on the computer our waitress obviously forgot to put our order in and instead of apologizing and saying she made a mistake she tried saying the cooks were skipping slips. Our waitress never apologized never came back to our table to see how the food was. We will never go here againand the owner needs to get better waitresses and waitresses who are not so rude. read more

Terrible service! The women there are extremely rude! Placed a take out order & didn't receive everything we ordered and PAID for. They weren't able to refund our card but were able to refund cash? what an inconvenience to drive all the way back there, no? The reason we wanted a refund in the first place was to avoid going back. Great food and consistent quality at very fair prices....what more can you ask for! You never have to ask for a refill on coffee, it's almost automatic. The cranberry walnut multi-grain pancakes are to die for. The wait staff is very pleasant, talkative and they always have a smile on their face. My husband and I go to the Lighthouse every Sunday and we always enjoy it. Today however was the first time we were told there would be an hour wait just for our food because the cook was outside smoking a cigarette and he just didn't care that people had to wait for their food today. The waitress were very upset and they are always fine when we go in. So today we left and did not want to wait the hour for our food to come. The staff are very knowledgeable of their menu along with their outstanding service. The food is fresh and cooked to order in a timely manner. Right on Route 6, easy on/off the highway to meet up with people. As per another reviewer, first thing I had was the crab cake benedict. While this isn't Maryland, it was really good. Also like that they serve fruit as an alternative to home fries, which gives a different choice on those days I choose to be healthy. Also noticed the other day someone had hash browns, so something else to try on the side. The service is always warm and friendly, and really, makes the meal that much more enjoyable. On Sunday, November 3, 2019 myself and another friend went out to breakfast with an elderly friend of ours who has dementia and is living in a residential home. We are both caretakers for him. Our usual place for breakfast was extremely crowded so we tried the lighthouse as a change of pace. We were directed to the back of the restaurant because the front of the restaurant was very full and they had additional seating towards the back. When we went to the entrance for the back room we were met with a woman who was extremely rude. She met us and immediately asked us what we were doing back there.. No hello, no how can I help you etc. We explained that we were directed to the back because there was no room in the front. She then stated she had no empty tables. Unfortunately, we could see empty tables clearly from where we were. A waitress behind her seemed to indicate something to her at that point, then she turned and directed us to a table way in the back that was in front of the sink and next to a door. I told her we were not sitting at that table. They were others available. We were then seated at a different table. Our actual waitress was very nice and she accommodated our request for our elderly friends meal items to be on separate plates. It is a byproduct of his disease. Unfortunately, we watched every table, even those who come in after us, be served before we were. It took approximately 45 minutes. We had arrived there at about 11:45. I cannot think of any reason why we were treated this way other than the fact that our friend is a very dark Cape Verdean. I hope management addresses this is with their employees. So my aunt mentioned this was a great place to eat for breakfast...as the food was okay, the service was horrible...we want to switch from a table to a booth because the A/C was blowing directly at us so i mention to the waitress staff if we could move to the front booth and they looked at me like the earth was going to explode...they mentioned that they had people waiting and i would have to wait, the gentleman near the door that was waiting, mentioned they can take the other booth in the back, i said thank you, appreciate it, so we switch to the front booth. We kept expressing to the waitress staff, as they were cleaning off the table, "thank you, appreciate it and sorry for the inconvenience" and they didn't bat an eye and said nothing. We didn't give a great tip as they were rushing toward the end and grabbing individual plates as we were finished. We will not go back, the waitress staff was very rude like we had three heads and they were very snobby. I gave two stars since the food was okay. read more

This is one of my fiance and I's favorite breakfast places! We live right around the corner so it's convenient and the food always comes out hot and quick! I tend to get an omelet that is not on the menu but even though it's a little different, it's made right every time! The food is delicious and the staff have become great friends! We are always greeted with big smiles and hellos and Connie and the girls always make it a point to see how we are doing and what's new since the last time we were in! Everyone is always so sweet and attentive! One thing that I think could use some improvement is the visibility of the owner. Being that we come in often, we do see him often, however being repeat customers we don't even know his name. He seems to hover a lot but I've never seen him go to a table and ask how the service is or if there was anything that anyone needed. Overall we love it here! The girls work their tails off and the staff in the kitchen should be commended as well! Great food and great service! read more
