If I could eat lunch here everyday I would. One of my biggest regrets is not discovering this place while I was at Wellesley, though my wallet and waist may thank me. I would plan my workday around being able to make it here for lunch before noon so the line wasn't too crazy, though even when it is it moves quickly. I'm so impressed by the staff's ability to take orders quickly and always manage to get them correct even though they write nothing down. This is a quick moving quick turnaround line, so know your order before you get to the counter. Everything I have had here has been amazing, anything with prosciutto is a great choice, though the specials are always delicious. If you can, try and get some peanut butter cookies, they are amazing! I'm going to have to take a trip out to Wellesley just for another sandwich! read more

As a New Yorker I must say that finding a good deli outside the radius of about 20 miles from NYC is extremely rare. There are exceptions and The Linden Store is one of them. I hit it every chance I'm in town and haven't been disappointed. While visiting relatives in Wellesley they took us to The Linden Store. Wow! Really great sandwiches and friendly employees. I had a chicken breast, pesto and mozzarella sandwich. It was large enough to share. Will definitely eat here again next time we're in town. read more

This is a classic, neighborhood gem. They have a deli counter with stools for a small eat in area. Mostly take out of amazing deli sandwiches. The staff here are probably the most friendly, helpful staff I have ever encountered. I've gone here with my friends as well as ordered pick up for my company. Sandwiches are amazing. When I call in orders for the company they are so helpful and cheerful on the phone, and have the order ready to go when I arrive. Coffee is good too. The only negative thing I have to say about this place is that it is often too crowded! Again, the staff deals with the lunch rush well and always manages to keep the line moving quickly. Based on sandwiches alone I would give this place 5 stars. The workers are extremely fast at what they do and are friendly as well. Only downside would have to be how confusing it is in there. People don't know where to go or stand. There is no specific way to pay or just pick up an order that was called in. I've only been at lunch time so I can imagine this is during their lunch rush only. A few times my office has ordered from here and a few sandwiches were not correct . Mine wasn't though . Had lunch from this place catered to my work yesterday for an office lunch. Everything was delicious! There were 5 different types of sandwiches, I got to try 2. The turkey with the stuffing and cranberry sauce is outstanding. I'm usually not a fan of cranberry sauce, but they put just enough in the sandwich to give it a little flavor of sweetness and not overpower the whole sandwich. The tortellini pasta salad was one of the best I've ever tasted. The cookies and brownies were fresh too. I'll definitely order from here again. read more

The reasons they are different from any other sub shop are: 1) the rolls are delivered from the north end fresh every morning - they are soft, a little sweet, and very fluffy. They used to cut off the ends of the rolls, but seem to stopped doing that recently. 2) the meats and cheeses are top notch, the absolute best ingredients 3) they slice every ingredient for each sandwich individually when you order it The hot italian is awesome. Advice - do not mess around with the sandwich combinations - take it the way they make it - they have been making it the same way for over 30 years. This is the staple sandwich shop of Wellesley and it deserves to be. It's excellent. I grew up going to this shop, which was once featured in an article of the top 20 sandwich shops you have to try in this country. It's owned by two brothers who grew up in Wellesley and who insist on fresh ingredients and a small town feel, despite posh competition in Wellesley. If you go during lunchtime, especially on a weekend, there will be a long line, but the line moves pretty quickly and it is always worth the wait. Try any of the daily specials, the Dude Ranch, or the Thanksgiving. read more

The best sandwich/sub shop you can find! I've been going to the linden store for at least 15 years- the Italian and the linden special are the best! We also love the Abby rose and the avocado! Great place to stop in for breakfast or lunch. The staff is so friendly and inviting! A lot of people were coming in and ordering food to go but there is a counter space for about 10 people that you can snag a seat and order with one of the staff members. I would put this deli up against any other deli in Mass. The Italian sub is by far the best Italian sub I have ever had in my life. The meats are all fresh (mostly Boars Head) and sliced to order. The sub rolls are made fresh every day and the sandwich selection is second to none. The only problem you will have is deciding which sandwich to buy. As I said the Italian is my favorite but you can't go wrong with the meatball with peppers, onions and Provolone or the Isabella. Well worth the trip if you don't live in the area, I drive from Boston at least once a month to get my fix. Had a fresh, delicious Thanksgiving turkey special sandwich and lemonade with a group. While chatting the owner came over handed us each a sample of his ice cream and asked how our sandwiches were.
