I tried this place after all the great reviews and realizing it's super close to my house. They may have great hairdressers but the one booked for my appointment made my hair look way worse than when I entered the salon. Mallory was a great conversationalist and we filled the four hours with lots of talking. This was my first hair appointment after having our latest baby so I was looking forward to the pampering even though it was a long time to be away from feeding our newborn. I explained all my preferences repeating that I am super low maintenance on my hair and I am a wash and go kind of woman. I asked for low lights and simple cut with some thinning for my thick hair. At the last minute agreed to her suggestion of layers in the front. My hair is a mixture of wavy and straight and when layered it gets wavier which I warned her. After home and washing I notice my hair looks like a few different haircuts depending on what area you're looking. The layers are not blended and one side looks like it's cut straight across and the other side is a drastic angled cut. She offered to fix it but that's why I went in in the first place. I don't trust her second try would be better and even if it was I paid $160+ for a professional to do my hair well the first time. My time is very valuable with 3 young kids (one being a newborn)! After I told her I was not comfortable coming again she refused any refund due to it being over 30 days since the appointment. The result is totally embarrassing that I have worn it back in a ponytail for 30 days straight. I will have to spend more money and time going somewhere else to get it cut way shorter than I wanted and to fix the color that turned out red in my hair. read more

Absolutely phenomenal cuts by Deanna! My 3 and 4 year old daughters needed a trim because of the upcoming summer heat that will be upon us in no time. She was extremely patient in consulting with her pint sized clients (even though the unicorn extensions were ultimately vetoed!). Her friendliness and an adorable nautical themed cape that helped my girls get over their nervousness and put the girls at ease. She was very gentle while shampooing their hair and she listened intently to everything my chatty 4 year old had to share! After their cuts were completed Deanna also had a treasure box full of goodies for the girls to pick something out from! Briauna's been my stylist for over a year now and I love it! I've branched out into colored bangs and now have a color block at the front of my hair. I love that the first time we bleached my hair, Briauna prepared me that the boxed-dyed part of my hair might not lighten as much as the rest. I had a color combination in mind, but she proposed alternates in case my hair didn't lighten, which it didn't. I love that she's up front and manages expectations while still keeping your hair's health in mind. It's so cool to watch her work! Whenever I show her a reference photo for a color, she can eyeball the color measurements and nail it on the first try. When I showed her a shaggy, messy hairstyle that I loved but wasn't sure I wanted to commit to, she razored in a few layers and we revisited the look at my next appointment to add in more layers. It turned out amazing! I went from someone who regularly went at least a year in between hair appointments to someone who looks forward to going once a month because of Briauna! read more

I have a confession: I cheated on my long-term stylists. I usually get my hair colored at one place on the Strip and then cut at another place off-Strip. And between the two, I usually pay $250-300 (not including gas and travel time). So I looked on Yelp and found this salon just down the street from me. I picked Sam as my stylist based on the pictures I saw from Yelpers and her Instagram. It was definitely a very different experience than what I've experienced at every other salon (here in Vegas and in other cities). It's not an upscale kind of place. It was, honestly, probably the messiest salon I've ever set foot in. It's got a cool-ish vibe with the blue walls and artwork. But it was still unkempt. The stylists also behaved very differently. They sorta just lounged around and carried on conversations with each other across the salon. None were dressed nicely and none really had done their own hair. Just a whole different level of professionalism and presentation. I was, frankly, surprised by how few questions Sam asked me. She was thorough, though, and took her time. I never felt rushed. And I did leave the salon feeling good about my hair. And I liked the blowout/style. Tip: Be sure to check-in on Yelp for 10% off. But that said, the base color wasn't as bright as I'm used to and feels more brown. But the purple and pink do look great. And the color is even, no missed spots, no color mess on my skin, etc. The cut is decent. And I've already gotten numerous compliments. Sam definitely did a good job. It's a significant savings and is just down the street from me. So big bonus points for that. And it not necessarily a bad thing in terms of the look of the salon and professionalism of the staff. It's just...different - not my usual experience. I'm up for giving it another try and will go back to Sam again. She was pleasant and friendly and did a good job. And hey, when developing a new relationship with a stylist, it takes more than once to get comfortable, learn how your personal hair works, and get everything perfect. If you're looking for some color to your hair color (blue, green, pink, purple, etc.) this is definitely the place to go. It beat out my upscale Strip salon experiences in that way. read more

So I went in and had Abby cut off about 8" of hair. She did an amazing job and I loved it. I scheduled to go back in and have my hair dyed. I had to cancel because I got sick. I finally rescheduled with her and went in to get it dyed and she did the most amazing job. I love it so much and it is exactly what I wanted. I am going back on the 13th and letting her style my hair for my wedding day. The place is always clean and everyone is so nice. They follow all health codes and mandates. It looks like I have finally found my hair home. I have had extremely horrible experience in the past so was nervous but this place is wonderful. Also they do not over charge and are amazing. I've gotten my hair colored and cut twice now by Mallory in the list salon let me tell you, best hairdresser I've ever had. Very professional and very sweet. She did exactly what I wanted for my hair the first and the second time. the second time I wanted to cut most of my hair off and she knew exactly the length I should go without making it too short. I also went to her for my five-year-old daughter's first haircut which my daughter was terrified for and Mallory made it so much easier for her and she wasn't scared at all. After researching different salons, I went with Shag Me based on reviews and price. I have been in the market for a new stylist and it's always nerve-wracking to pick one out of the air. Jaclyn was my stylist at Shag Me Salon and she was fantastic! We laughed the entire time and I love the cut she gave me. It's hard for a stylist to magically know what you want or to decipher what the heck I was trying to convey via a million different pinterest photos but she nailed it. My hair looks amazing straight and curly and that (for some reason) is hard for stylists to do. Lanita cut my hair and was so sweet. She was talkative and genuine with me. Below are my pros and cons of a first-time customer: Pros: 1) I was able to get an appointment fairly easy 2) Lanita knew what I was talking about when I described what kind of cut I wanted. 3) A lot of the art on the walls are done by local artists, which can be purchased. 4) My stylist said she personally does cuts for free if you're donating hair. [I did not do this, so I can't personally attest.] Cons: 1) No seating area in the front, so if you are waiting, you are awkwardly standing near the reception desk, unless you are invited to the back where there are TVs and couches. I would not have known about them there and I wasn't invited back while I waited. 2) I get it, people smoke, but there was a slight scent of cigarette smoke when I was in there. 3) [Semi-con] It's hard to nail down the vibe of the place. They support local artists which I appreciate, but the art is definitely not for everyone. 4) My hairdresser, although very sweet, was not shy to talk about how she just woke up and how "greasy her hair was," which she fixed before doing my hair. My stylist said a "long bob" hairstyle would work well on me, and I suggested we try it that day, however, she said, "Not today, let's just go with this, then you can grow it out again, and donate it when we do it in a few months." Sweet gesture, but I was looking to get rid of my long locks that day! Lanita was so sweet, I didn't want to be difficult, so I went somewhere else after. [I know, I know, I should have said something!] It seems that the employees and customers are happy and they certainly are friendly, but I don't think I will personally be returning, as I had a better experience somewhere else. read more

The single star is for Erika, she used to cut my hair and always did a great job. The 4 lacking stars are because of my recent experience with Lanita and a failed attempt at dreads. I've had dreadlocks a couple times before but was interested in creating newer, cleaner looking dreads. I thought about putting them in myself again but my spine has problems now that weren't there ten years ago. I'm kicking myself now for not complaining about a number of things but, after growing my hair out for close to eight months, I bit my lip. First I think the laid back atmosphere nurtured for the customers has been adopted a little too much by the staff. Secondly, I scheduled three to five hours and I figured I could sit through that even with my neck problems. After six hours I had to come back for a second day and it took more than eleven hours in the end. I've had dreads done in 5 hours and was perplexed but was told this was a superior, all natural method. This all cost more than $500 plus more for new maintenance products. It hurt the checkbook a bit but I spent too many months getting here to stop now. I was told two months till I needed to come back. Within days they were coming undone from both ends but after having dreads for so long I knew how to fix it. After two weeks of spending a couple hours a day on them neither my neck or scalp could keep going and I emailed the owner. They shouldn't be falling apart like this, I explained, even with caucasian hair. I was repeatedly told to contact the stylist because she doesn't know anything about dreads. The website section for Lanita has been "Coming Soon" since our first consultation so I have no contact info for her. The owner says they contacted me though I had no new emails or messages from her. After days of this and my inability to stop the decay or go to the shop, I cut them off. Some of it was just nappy hair by then. At this point I emailed the owner and, despite only asking for a partial refund, was told "Your welcome to come in but I'm not sure the outcome will be to your liking". It honestly reads like a threat. Now that the dreads are off, the owner is saying they were offering a partial refund but not anymore because I didn't come into the shop. What's entertaining about that is they know I can't drive due to a pinched spinal nerve and in fact had to get rides to initial appointment. Seems that theres is nothing I can do but learn from the experience. I should have known when there weren't photos of anyone else's dreads. I've had good experiences here in the past but something has changed and it isn't for the better. read more

Let me just tell you, She overdid my expectations!!!!!! She took the time to really understand what I was wanting and With a easy going personality, and great communication skills I left very happy and refreshed. I have had a couple of the ladies do my hair, but Maddie is my go to for a few years now!! I had the worst haircut experience at The Hotties Salon. Called in last minute and needed a trim as my regular stylist was on vacay. Sarah Lovell took me in last minute as well as late in the afternoon. I wanted an A-line bob which I had had but she sharpened it up and made it more dramatic which turned out AMAZING! During our conversation I voiced that I had trouble finding a sulfate free shampoo/ conditioner that would clarify my oily roots but still keep my blonde highlighted soft. I have been going to this salon since it was called Shag Me and located on Maryland Parkway. I have had almost all their stylists do my hair (my current regular is Kellee who is amazing, but I do a lot of walk in appointments for trims because I'm bad at making appointments), and am always happy. They were great when I was growing out my hair for my wedding and keeping it super natural and what I call 'generic pretty' and happy to turn me into a unicorn mermaid after the wedding and then back to natural colors when I was interviewing for a job. There is so much magic and chemistry involved in good vivid colors and turning hair back to natural after having vivid colors - DO NOT DO IT YOURSELF! Let the amazing people at The List take care of you. I have had one not-so-great experience with a newer stylist. It wasn't terrible, it just wasn't the perfection that I'm used to, and part of it was definitely my fault for not communicating better. What's amazing is that I messaged Dacia to let her know, and she immediately messaged me back telling me to come in so we could get it fixed. I couldn't because I was leaving town, so Dacia offered to give me a discount on my next appointment. Okay, Sam and Monica are the ultimate Dynamic Duo when it comes to tag-teaming a hair project. They also answered my distress call with a hair-oic rescue. I had a followup appointment scheduled with the stylist who had created my dreads at Shag Me, but in the time between when I scheduled and the date of my appointment, he left Shag Me and was working out of another shop. I came into town early the day of my appointment to make sure I got my hair handled (there was a really important meeting I had to attend the next day where my hair needed to be as neat as possible), but my former stylist couldn't make it. (He was sick.) I was so upset I ended up crying in my car. I called Shag Me to see if there was anything that could be done (even though I knew my former stylist no longer worked there). Monica said there wasn't, but then called me back within a minute to tell me she fixed it so there was. I was so relieved. Monica and Sam worked on my dreads, tightening them and making them look fantastic. They told jokes and talked about everything from old tv shows to dentists to female anatomy to engagement pictures out in the forest. I've always had great experiences at Shag Me but this just topped the charts. My hair looked very tidy for the meeting, the work that they did has made my hair lock so much better, and I am still grateful for the team being able to get me in on short notice for something so tedious. From the moment I walked in, till the time I walked out Erika was thee most amazing stylist I've found in this valley (yea, it's a big valley). What an amazing change. This salon is top notch from the reception area to the hair styling itself. From being greeted with a kind hello I was escorted to waiting room. It was beautiful. I had a TV and retro couches. For having at least 11 stylists this place was so organized. My son wanted his hair styled. He had no idea what he wanted. Deisha, the hair stylist, was amazing with him. She LISTENED and basically was an artist with his hair. He was so happy. Other women were raving about the job all of the stylists were doing with there hair. I'm going to tell everyone about this little secret gem. Don't let supercuts screw up your head. Hey there, Yelpers! I'll try to be detailed, yet somewhat brief with my review. I visited The List Salon yesterday for my appointment with Sara M. for a color and cut. I was referred to Sara by a friend and I was told she is great with color. I've lived in Vegas since 2005 and over the years I've found a few great stylists but for one reason or another I've had to make some moves & find a new stylist. My last color was done over a year ago by a girl at Mosaic Salon (don't go there!) and she completely destroyed my hair so, needless to say, I wasn't going back. I allowed my hair time to repair and lived the last year of my life with dull color. I'm a natural blond and my goal when seeing Sara was to brighten my blond up again. Sara did a partial Balayage on my hair and it worked wonders! She took her time and about three and a half hours later (I have a TON of hair!) I was leaving with a brightened new 'do! I highly recommend Sara for your hair needs. She is skilled in her craft and seems to genuinely love what she does for a living.
